  2. The Lebanese University was established in 1951 to serve the diverse social groups that make up Lebanese society and provide a high-level institution where students can acquire university degrees. It was launched amid a growth in the number of students in grades 10 to 12. The first departments were The High House of Teachers and The Statistics Center. On 3 December 1951, the first class of 68 students entered the University, under the efforts of many professors and educated personalities and the support of the Lebanese President Bechara El Khoury. On 26 February 1953, official decree No. 25 founded a financial and administrative center at the University, called The Institution of Finance and Administration. The High House of Teachers was renamed The High Teachers Institution. The next significant change was 1959's regulating decree No. 2883, which, along with many others between 1960 and 1972, added more material into the University's structure and legalized all of its activities, requiring students to participate, administrators, the different faculties. The Faculty of Public Health aims to educate specialists in health, social and environmental fields, and cooperate and coordinate with public and private institutions, alongside civil organizations in the health, social, and preventive domains. It is also keen on providing theoretical and applied education while ensuring that moral standards and professional ethics are well-adopted. The Faculty of Pharmacy seeks to provide qualified professionals with pharmacies, pharmaceutical industries, and hospitals. It also endeavors to meet the increasing needs for competent pharmaceutical professionals by keeping up with the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences worldwide. The Faculty of Pedagogy is the foundation of the Lebanese University, and was known as the High Teachers Institution when it was established in 1951, before being renamed the Faculty of Pedagogy in 1967. Its current number of students stands at 2327. The Faculty includes two branches other than the Deanery. Its mission is to educate elementary and high school teachers, in addition to other pedagogic frameworks. Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management has been distinguished for its applied orientations, where learning and training are primarily geared towards practical and professional purposes. It teaches students according to the latest scientific and international basics, qualifying them to work in tourism, travel, tourist guidance, and hotel management, whether in Lebanon or other Arab countries. Faculty of Medical Science at the Lebanese University was established in 1983; distinguished students from different social classes in Lebanon had the opportunity to turn their dreams into reality and study medicine. The branches of the Faculty of Medical Sciences were merged in 1996, forming a unit tasked with graduating the best physicians, who would be recognized at the local and global levels, and known for their top-notch scientific competencies, complete training, and professional ethics. The Faculty of Medical Sciences is aware that such a high medical practice level cannot be achieved without focusing on medical research, workshops, and conferences. The Faculty now comprises 1,263 students. The Institute of Fine Arts was established in 1965 and has evolved into four branches and two departments, the Urbanism Department and the Restoration Department. It currently has around 2,930 students. The goals of the Institute of Fine Arts are closely linked to all civilized human phenomena. Indeed, its majors reflect the real civilized face of any society, whether for present or future generations. This Faculty aims at developing highly skilled and specialized professionals in a field that has become the very backbone of modern life, as economies are now intertwined due to globalization. It is keen on establishing partnerships with enterprises from the public and private sectors, either for cooperation and staff training or for student internships. The Doctoral School of Literature, Humanities, and Social Sciences was established in 2007. It is one of the three doctoral schools created at the Lebanese University to provide the proper environment to foster and develop academic research. Also, it organizes academic workshops and Ph.D. Students' Days and academic seminars and conferences to provide the necessary conditions to further the doctoral students' knowledge in academic research requirements. For these ends, it has created 14 research teams covering all the specializations of the Doctoral School. It is keen on expanding its regional and international horizons by signing agreements with other universities and international and regional institutes dedicated to supporting academic research and setting up the proper processes to carry them out. 3. The Islamic University of Lebanon is a private Lebanese institution of higher education, licensed under decree n° 8600 of the 12th of June 1996. The Vanished Imam Sayed Moussa Sadr brought this idea forth and laid the groundwork for establishing this institution. The departed Imam Sheikh Mohammad Mahdi Shamseddine (May Allah sanctify his soul) made his best endeavors and utmost efforts to build this institution. Today, Imam Sheikh Abdul Amir Qabalan, the vice president of the Supreme Shiite Council and the chairman of its Board of Trustees, continues to develop and improve the University. Dr. Hassan Chalabi has been the President of this institution since it was founded. This University seeks to contribute to the Supreme Shiite Council's solution in Lebanon, which deals with the national coalition and consolidation of the different sects and religions in the Lebanese civil community, where one political framework encompasses an equitable state for all its citizens. Therefore, this institution is committed to providing faith and knowledge as an inspirational source for the nation, the citizen, the state, and the Lebanese society. The Islamic University is a national project for the future, arising from Lebanon's vision as a pioneer in all the different domains of modern knowledge. This institution aims to popularize and deepen higher education while considering the historical and contemporary conditions that are indispensable to a balanced perspective so that learning becomes the bedrock for the development of the nation. The University recognizes the 21st century's scientific and economic developments, which present exciting new prospects for Lebanon, the Arabic world, and the Islamic world. Furthermore, it contributes to the scientific advancement that keeps pace with all the different societies that preceded us in modern science. Therefore, the University has moved to implement new specializations, improving the quality of the curriculum, and meeting job market demands in the domain of business and services in Lebanon and the Arab and Islamic world. This institution has been working to improve the academic level and to strengthen cooperation and coordination of educational and cultural ties with other universities and institutions inside and outside Lebanon. University officials are fully aware that any single institution will never achieve these high ambitions no matter how qualified or efficient. They hope that the Lebanese, Arabic, and Islamic civil communities will also play such a vital role in accomplishing this excellent task. Society can provide different kinds of moral and physical support from individuals, institutions, and associations. The Islamic University of Lebanon is a nonprofit institution. It aims to provide both Lebanese and non-Lebanese students with higher education without discrimination based on race, nationality, religion, or sect, in the spirit of openness towards all the different world cultures. The Islamic University of Lebanon aims at: Providing a means of higher academic education in different pieces of literature, sciences, and specialized knowledge domains, Training a highly qualified academic staff, Paying particular attention to scientific research and developing it, Paying close attention to Arabic and Islamic studies, Showing interest in our cultural heritage, spreading it, and contributing to saving the values of righteousness and virtue of the humanitarian civilization, Enhancing scientific and cultural ties with various universities and their Lebanese, Arabic, and foreign scientific staff. The Islamic University of Lebanon is a grand edifice of science and learning. This place is precious and resides in the heart, as a national college for Lebanese citizens. Every year, hundreds of students graduate from this University, educated with science and knowledge to shape the bright future we want for our youth, the country's pioneers. Founding this University meets an essential need in a world where no one should dominate, and everyone is a shining beacon of knowledge to counter the threat posed by violence. We must insist on the value of science and knowledge in delivering the image of the true Islam, as a civilized universal message that lies at the heart of the past and expands into the future all over the world. Our University is a national institution that welcomes knowledge seekers, no matter which religion or region they belong to. We particularly want to encourage the Lebanese people to be armed with the sciences. Science is like an ornament: it is knowledge itself, and a discipline, and an education. Keep away from violence and perversion. Be pious scholars and charitable. Cooperate to seek pure knowledge in conformity with Allah's Messenger saying, "Seek knowledge even as far away as China." 5. AUST reflects its founders' concerns in that American-styled university education should be within reach of all qualified students. Hence, tuition fees are kept at a minimum level while providing financial aid to those students who cannot afford the tuition and without compromising the requirements for growth and excellence in academic delivery. The American University of Science & Technology seeks to: Promote the search for the truth through the pursuit of knowledge and the application of its derivatives. Provide men and women from Lebanon, the Middle East, and the rest of the world with the opportunity to seek higher education (without discrimination as to religion, gender, color, national origin, or socioeconomic background) in an atmosphere of intellectual freedom and respect for the particularities of one's own culture and customs. Offer American-styled educational programs comparable with similar programs offered in the U.S.A. and are tailored to the needs of the geographical region it serves. Instill in the minds and the hearts of its students the principles of adequate national and international citizenship so that they may become the agents of social justice, catalysts for universal peace, and promoters of human rights. Ensure an intellectually-rich atmosphere of academic pursuit dominated by responsible freedom and respect for the rights of others. Develop the student's analytical, critical, creative, and communication skills across the curriculum and para-academic activities. Strive to become a model of the use of high technology in education in the region. Avail the students of social, cultural, and educational programs and activities that will support and complement the traditional classroom teaching and the learning processes. Graduate ecologically aware students who value their countries' ecology and strive to ensure its preservation for future generations. Be a model of the pursuit of excellence in higher education in the region that it serves. Let your years at AUST be substantive and full. Enjoy the geographically well-situated campuses and discover the area around you. Do not restrict your college experience to classroom attendance. Meet other students, make friends engage your faculty in dialogue, learn from their experiences, and take pride in your institution by inviting your non-AUST friends and families to university events. 6. The idea of establishing Al-Manar University of Tripoli (MUT) dates to 1958, when the late Prime Minister Mr. Rashid Karami, together with educator Mr. Muhieddine Makkouk, a select group of leading citizens of Tripoli, decided to launch a project to meet the educational concerns of North Lebanon. In 1966, they formally established "Al-Manar Society," a non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality education to students of North Lebanon and other regions of the Arab World. During the years that followed, the SocietySociety focused tremendous effort on acquiring land suitable for establishing a world-class university campus. Through a combination of purchase and grant, the SocietySociety successfully secured 255,000 m2 of separate land plots at a location known as "Baal Al-Ghandour." With continued perseverance by H.E. Omar Karami, aided by a special governmental Decree, the scattered areas of land were redistributed to form one uniform plot of land designated for the university campus. Today, the broad area dedicated to constructing the MUT campus and its ancillaries stands at 150,561 m2. After the assassination of H.E. Mr. Rashid Karami, Prime Minister Omar Karami assumed the Chairmanship of "Al-Manar Society" and formed the first University Board of Trustees in 1990. The Board was chaired by H.E. Omar Karami and 18 other prominent members of SocietySociety from Lebanon and the Arab World, each offering a unique combination of skills and financial support. The Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan Charitable & Humanitarian Foundation donated funds to construct MUT's Central Library. Mr. Abdel Majid Shoman donated funds to construct MUT's Abd el Hamid Shoman Arts & Sciences Building. H.E. Mr. Moustafa Durneika donated funds to construct MUT's Administration Building, all of which currently stand as a shimmering attestation to the University's bright future as a beacon of knowledge for generations to follow. The Faculty of Architecture and Design (FAD) provides a faculty team of outstanding designers, artists, architects, and scholars. Students undergo an educational experience underscored by rigorous requirements and reviews. They have educated on the premise that design is an art, and making art requires design. The notion of design at FAD is predicted on the marriage of science and the fine arts. Philosophically, FAD believes in the value of holistic education, one that balances the emphasis on the professional major with an equally important expectation that a student be versed in the humanities, literature, and the social sciences. This combination ensures that focused study is supplemented by a broad understanding of the context in which designers, artists, and art educators pursue their chosen fields of work. The mission of the Faculty of Business Administration at MUT is an integral part of the MUT Mission. The faculty was established to satisfy the needs of the local community and students from outside Lebanon. The Business Faculty accomplishes its mission by fostering the following majors: Management, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Management Information System, and Hospitality and Tourism. The variety of the Business programs will provide enrolled students with the proper and necessary skills to find the right solutions to the business organizations in general and contribute to the economic development and growth of SocietySociety in particular. Public Health is the science and art of promoting health, well-being, preventing disease and injuries, prolonging life, and improving quality of life through organized efforts for the sanitation of the environment, the control of communicable infections, the organization of paramedical services for the early diagnosis and prevention of disease, the education of the individual in personal health and the development of the social infrastructure to assure everyone an adequate standard of living. The mission of the Faculty of Public Health is to advance public health knowledge, promote health and well-being, and prevent disease and disabilities within communities in Lebanon and the Arab world in general. The faculty strives to accomplish this goal through excellence in education, fostering research opportunities, and service to communities through collaborative partnerships. The faculty is comprised of three academic units: the departments of environmental and occupational health (EOH), nursing (NUR), and nutrition (NUT). The Faculty of Science is committed to providing quality education and research facilities. The faculty strives to become the leading faculty in science among other universities by focusing on the importance of research in the advancement of science and bridge the gap between local industries and the academic sector, which will aid in the development of the country's economy. The Faculty of Science is willing to produce mature graduates where capabilities in science and technology shall assist them in playing a constructive role in national development. To achieve this objective, the faculty shall be engaged in the various programs such as teaching, research, academic exchange, consultancy, and any other means that together shall provide practically oriented education. 7. Yarmouk University (YU) was established in June 1976 by a Royal Decree. Yarmouk University has developed steadily into one of the largest and most prestigious state-supported educational institutions in Jordan. We currently have 27850 students, 936 faculty members, and 1740 administrative and technical staff spread over 13 faculties that offer 56 bachelor degree programs, 63 master degree programs, and 19 Ph.D. programs in various specializations. We also have 11 centers for research and career development. The University has carved a unique niche for itself in northern Jordan through the diversity of its programs, which aim to strike a fair balance between the humanities on the one hand and science and engineering specializations on the other. We hope to inspire our young students by offering various specializations combined with excellence in teaching, opportunities for community service and extra-curricular activities, and encouragement of innovation. Our aim is not merely to produce degree-holders but rather productive citizens with integrity, vision, reasoning, tolerance, and a sense of purpose. In recent years, the phenomenon of globalization, coupled with an overall economic decline, has resulted in an unprecedented scarcity of employment opportunities almost everywhere – Jordan is no exception. At Yarmouk University, we aim to combat this challenge by offering courses and training programs for both students and staff through our centers and by partnering with business, industry, NGO’s, and other local or foreign institutions. Several companies have established incubators at the university to offer students training and work experience that prepares them for the broader job market and creates a climate conducive to entrepreneurship and innovation. Research is also one of Yarmouk University’s top priorities, especially within Jordan’s social, economic, environmental, and developmental needs. Several research projects are currently underway in partnership with local and international institutions. Also, the recent establishment of technology transfer offices in public universities, including ours, has served to encourage the commercialization of research findings and inventions – a development that many researchers find appealing. Much has been accomplished over the past three and a half decades since establishing this outstanding institution, but much still needs to be done. When the University was established in 1976, the then Faculty of Arts and Science included specializations in science, arts, economics, and administrative sciences. The departments of Arabic, English, Humanities, and Social Sciences were the core of the Faculty of Arts, established in 1981. View full university

The University of Jordan has achieved advanced positions in various international rankings: UJ is one of the best 600 Universities worldwide, one of the best 10 Arab universities, and it has recently achieved four stars according to QS. Also, UJ has gained many international accreditations for its programs, such as medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, engineering, rehabilitation, and other disciplines. Our mission is to provide students with fulfilling learning experiences, conduct knowledge-producing research, and build strong social ties within an environment conducive to creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship making efficient use of resources and forging fruitful partnerships. The University of Jordan is celebrating its Golden Jubilee amid ever-growing global challenges to higher education. Over the past 50 years, the University has made great strides in becoming Jordan's leading and most comprehensive University that has provided successive generations with a solid education. That has contributed fundamentally to the making of modern Jordan. Much has been accomplished, and much is currently being done. There remains, however, much more to be done and ample space for improvement. The challenges of the times and the needs of a knowledge-based society make it imperative that the University charts new strategies for meeting the challenges and gaining global recognition. Excellence in education has been and will remain a priority for the University. However, there is a need to streamline academic programs in a manner that guarantees continued excellence while simultaneously meeting the demands of the rapidly-changing domestic, regional, and global job markets. The University will continue adapting to the internationally accepted best practices, and its faculty members will be encouraged to adopt blended-learning approaches. It will also vigorously seek to prepare its students for entrepreneurial careers by spreading entrepreneurship culture through integrating entrepreneurship education into curricula campus-wide. 25. As the third Egyptian University, Ain Shams University was founded in July 1950 under the name of "Ibrahim Pasha University." It participated with the two earlier universities, "Cairo University" (Fua'd the 1st ) and "Alexandria University" (Farouk the 1st), in fulfilling the message of universities and meeting the increasing demand of youth for higher education. When it was first established, Ain Shams University comprised several distinguished faculties and academic institutes, which were later developed into University. After the revolution of the 23 rd of July 1952, it was suggested that Egyptian universities be given names that were strongly linked with the roots and historical landmarks of the country. Thus on 21 st of February 1954, the name of the University was changed to "Heliopolis," and then changed in the same year to its present name "Ain Shams," the Arabic for "Heliopolis," or "On," which was the oldest University in history. "On" University was established about 5000 years ago, and it had a wide fame as a center of knowledge and learning, especially in astronomy, engineering, and medicine. Perhaps a perfect example of "On" teachers' knowledge and skill is Imhotep, the chief priest, minister, and architect. They, in 2700 B.C., designed the first large structure of stone known in history, Zoser's Step Pyramid in Sakkara. Westcar Papyrus also states that the founder of the Fifth Dynasty was the Rector of "On" University before ascending the throne. However, the most important achievement of "On" University was the call for worshipping a single deity, the solar disk of Aton, at the hands of Akhenaton, who was influenced by the ideas of "On" priests. The University is now located in the Zaafaran Palace area, built during the regime of Khedive Ismail. The Palace was so named because the area surrounding it was famous for saffron (in Arabic Zaafaran) plantations. The Palace was used to host the Egyptian University administration offices when it was established in 1925. It was used by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (as a guest house) for accommodating important visitors. The Palace also witnessed the signing of the 1936 Treaty between Egypt and Great Britain. Finally, in 1952, it came to be used as the administrative headquarters of Ain Shams University. Being a major scientific and cultural institution, Ain Shams University is fully aware of these challenges. It is confident that it has - with other Egyptian Universities - a problematic challenging responsibility for creating the generation. In 1973 the faculty of Al-Alsun was made the tenth member in the University. However, the history of this faculty dates back to 1835. In 1994, a decree was issued to establish two more faculties, the faculty of Pharmacy and the faculty of Dentistry; the actual study was started the following year in both faculties. In the same year, it was decided to establish the faculty of Computers and Information Sciences, and the study started the following year. The last faculty to join the University is the faculty of Specific Education, in 1998. Faculty of Nursing was established in 1980, and the Institute of Childhood Postgraduates Studies was established in 1981. The establishment of the Institute of Environmental Research and Studies was in 1982. Ain Shams University comprises seven campuses, all of which are situated in Great Cairo. The university administration, faculties of Arts, Law, and Science are all located on the main campus, El-khalifa El Mamoon Street, Abbasi. The faculties of Commerce, Al-Alsun (languages), Pharmacy, Dentistry, Computer and Information Sciences, Institute of Postgraduate Childhood and Institute of Environmental Studies and Research, and the specialized Hospital are located on the second campus on the other side of the street above. Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Nursing and the university hospitals are located on another campus at Abassia. Faculties of Engineering, Specific Education, Education, Women, and Agriculture are located on a separate campus in Abbasi, Heliopolis, and Shoubra El-Kheema. Our mission is to Integrate a culture of total quality and continuous improvement in the educational process and research. Enrich the theoretical knowledge and applied the following ethical standards, social and cultural life of society. Spreading the culture and ethics of scientific research.
