About Me

  1. In 1938 in Belmar, New Jersey, Dr. Percy Crawford founded The King’s College to provide a challenging liberal arts education, a deep, meaningful understanding of biblical faith and prepare students to take their education and understanding into the world and its strategic institutions. The King’s College stands firmly rooted in the grand tradition of the animating ideals of Western Civilization, and yet fully engaged in the debates regarding the future of our society. For more than 75 years, the College has produced graduates who lead and bring real change to the strategic public and private institutions worldwide. Through its commitment to the truths of Christianity and a biblical worldview, The King’s College seeks to transform society by preparing students for careers in which they help to shape and eventually to lead strategic public and private institutions, and by supporting faculty members as they directly engage culture through writing and speaking publicly on critical issues. We educate young leaders to seamlessly integrate their faith, ethics, and morality into their lives and careers. Students are immersed in challenging academic and spiritual study that demands thinking, communicating, and problem-solving with the mind, heart, and soul. We require engagement with complex ideas to guide society's strategic institutions — government, commerce, law, media, civil society, education, the arts, and the Church. We participate in a demanding curriculum and present unique opportunities to students in the heart of New York City. We are not a college for the timid soul — we value bravery, commitment, and action. One of the great strengths of The King’s College education is the interdisciplinary nature of the curriculum. Students explore a wide range of ideas and topics, but most importantly, they study the relationships between ideas, generating interest in and recognizing the value of multiple disciplines. Our fifteen minors support each major of study so that students graduate with an impressive, agile intellect and a dependable ability to influence our culture. View full university

We also accept Advanced Placement (AP) and CLEP Exams. (The office of the Registrar evaluates all prior learning and determines credit transferability) Loans must be repaid; they are considered a financial aid award because they are part of the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program, one of many federal government programs to assist students financially. The Office of Financial Aid "awards" Stafford loans to students along with any other aid they are eligible to receive. Parents may also borrow fixed interest rate PLUS LOANS (see the "Parent Loans" section above). Students may also apply for variable interest rate co-signer PRIVATE LOANS. Contact the Office of Financial Aid at 661-362-2290 or financialaid@masters.edu to discuss these options. A Federal Stafford Loan is a low-interest rate loan offered by the Federal Government to students enrolled at least half-time (6 units). They are offered as subsidized or unsubsidized loans as determined by the FAFSA, and students enter repayment six months after they graduate or drop below six units. Subsidized loans: The federal government pays the interest accrued while students are enrolled at least half-time (6 units) and during a six-month grace period. Unsubsidized loans: Students are responsible for paying all interest accrued for the life of the loan. The interest accrued is capitalized at repayment (students can choose to pay interest while in school to prevent it from capitalizing). The Master's University is an advocate for students' health and well-being through the provision of the Health Center. The Health Center is staffed by a registered nurse and is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (excluding holidays). Here, students may obtain advice and treatment for minor injuries and illnesses and over-the-counter medications for temporary symptom relief. The Health Center is not equipped to handle severe conditions or medical emergencies. If these types of conditions arise, the student must be referred off-campus for appropriate treatment at their own expense! View full university
  3. In 1932, the Sisters of Mercy of Connecticut established the first liberal arts college for women in the Hartford area. They were determined to develop a curriculum that balanced professional studies with the liberal arts-focused on service to others and infused the Catholic intellectual tradition while welcoming students of all ages, races, religions, and cultures. In addition to undergraduate programs for full- and part-time students (which became fully coeducational in 2018), the University of Saint Joseph has grown to include the following programs of study: graduate master’s and certificate programs (introduced in 1959) and professional doctoral degrees (2011). Two renowned laboratory schools — the School for Young Children (1936), a nationally-accredited preschool, and the Gengras Center School (1965), a unique education program for elementary, middle, and high school students — also serve to train University of Saint Joseph students. As the University of Saint Joseph has evolved into a vibrant educational complex, it has never strayed from its original vision: a steadfast commitment to preparing students for insightful leadership and service to others. The University of Saint Joseph, founded by the Sisters of Mercy in the Catholic tradition, provides rigorous liberal arts and professional education for a diverse student population in an inclusive environment that encourages strong ethical values, personal integrity, and a sense of responsibility for the needs of society. Engage in and appreciate the arts. Acquire an understanding of our historical and scientific heritage. Begin to develop an appreciation of other cultures and their ways of knowing. And consider their religious commitments for their meaning in life and the world they live and serve. View full university

  9. In November of 2001, a small group of Christians met in Chino, California, to consider establishing a Reformed Christian college on the West Coast. Parents and young people were often hesitant to travel great distances to the nearest Reformed college. Moreover, the West Coast had many students who would benefit from a specifically Reformed perspective in their college education. At Providence, we believe that an institution is most successful if its vision is stated clearly and integrated consciously into every aspect of community life. The principles that guide Providence are adherence to the teachings of Scripture, Christ-centeredness in both doctrine and practice, and faithful service in extending the Kingdom of God into every area of life. These principles are woven throughout the Providence experience, from school mission statement to syllabus. The name given to Providence Christian College speaks boldly of God's excellent provision in the past and our trust in His goodness to provide for this college's future. God's Word, "providence," means that our sovereign God controls, upholds, and rules everything so that nothing happens to us by chance. As one of our Reformed confessions states, as a result of God's Providence, "we can be patient when things go against us, thankful when things go well, and for the future, we can have good confidence in our faithful God and Father that nothing will separate us from His love" (Heidelberg Catechism, Lord's Day 10). Our name also demands that we remember His sovereign care every day in the future. Whenever we stop trusting His Providence, we will fail. Whenever we begin trusting in ourselves, we will fall. It is our prayer that Providence Christian College, and all those associated with it, will always promote its name, trusting in the compassionate care of our Heavenly Father. The eye-catching centerpiece to Providence's campus is McGavran Hall, named for India's famous Christian missionary, who was a significant influence on modern missions, Donald A. McGavran. Providence classrooms fill the second floor of this impressive three-story structure, recently remodeled and upgraded with newly installed wireless internet. Students enjoy a clean and functional learning environment, complete with wall-sized windows looking out on the campus with mountains in the background. As the Academic Resource Center (ARC) is located down the hall from the classrooms, academic help and a quiet study area are just a short walk away. Open until midnight, and the ARC is the place for late-night study groups and a workspace away from distractions. Pierce Hall is the most versatile and widely-used facility on campus. It is centrally located immediately to the north of Speer Hall. The upper floor houses the cafeteria, which is complete with outdoor balcony seating. Students share meals with Providence staff and faculty, along with the extended community of the campus's other residents and organizations. The Latourette Library stands tall at the north end of the campus. One large room of the second floor houses Providence's book collection and research materials. Against the walls, there are several study carrels and computers for exclusive use by Providence students. In addition to Providence's library, students have access to William Carey's expansive third-floor collection of theological and mission-oriented materials for study. Located at the edge of the campus to the west of the Pierce building, the Gladys Aylward Hall provides residential space for over 300 people. Providence occupies the northern wing of the building with men on the first floor and women on the second. Rooms consist mainly of two-person rooms complete with beds, desks, and ample storage space. Each hall has a spacious, typical restroom. In addition to residences, Aylward provides a well-stocked weight room, several community rooms, community kitchen facilities, barbeque, and mail service. Located on the north edge of campus along Elizabeth Street, Townsend Hall provides additional residential space. It boasts a newly renovated quad style living and a spacious inner courtyard. Providence is committed to affordable education for all of its students, which is why we partner with you to make an educational investment in your future. Because of hundreds of generous donors, 100% of our students receive financial aid. Providence holds its total cost at an average of $7500 less than other Christian colleges in California, and last year 72% of our students received a renewable academic scholarship. In order to help our students achieve their academic and religious goals during their time at Providence, we have instituted several financial aid packages, including Grants, Scholarships, Loans, and Work-Study Programs. Also, we offer the Providence Promise Loan Repayment Assistance Program. This program is unique to Providence and ensures that our graduates can successfully follow God's plan for their future without worrying about student loan debt. Our financial aid advisor is on hand to help you with anything you need and our admissions counselors are happy to let you know what the next steps are in applying for financial aid. 11. Welcome to Pillar College where we are dedicated to helping you pursue God’s purpose and your passions in higher education. Pillar is an undergraduate and graduate institution of higher learning that is faithful to classical Christianity, grounded on the authority of God’s Word, and committed to challenging Christians to serve Christ with passion and purpose. As He came into the world to serve God and humanity, you also are invited to learn how to invest your life to make a lasting impact on our world. Pillar College educates, inspires, and equips students for excellent scholarship, service, and leadership. Rooted in and committed to Pillar College has its roots as an educational ministry of the Pillar of Fire, International. The Pillar of Fire was organized in 1901. It is an evangelical organization with theological roots in the Methodist Episcopal Church and the nineteenth century American Holiness Movement. Originally called Zarephath Bible Institute, ZBI was founded in 1908 as a training school for missionaries, preachers, and teachers. Over the years, it has prepared many students to serve in various occupations in numerous Christian ministry organizations. ZBI became Somerset Christian College on March 23, 2001 When the New Jersey Commission on Higher Education issued the license to grant the two-year Associate in Biblical Studies degree. In 2006 the college was approved to offer four-year Bachelor of Arts degrees. After the loss of the Zarephath Campus due to Hurricane Irene in 2011, Somerset Christian College moved its headquarters to Newark NJ and in 2012 changed its name to Pillar College. Christian faith and love, Pillar fosters intellectual, spiritual, and social development among its diverse student population at various instructional sites. The following is a concise statement of the Wesleyan-Arminian theological doctrines upon which Pillar College is founded. While students are not required to subscribe to all of the following points, all agree to honor the rich tradition upon which this institution was established. We believe that there is one God, creator and sustainer of all things, infinite in love, perfect in judgments, and unchanging in mercy. God exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is God’s Son incarnate, born of the Virgin Mary. He died for the sins of all, taking on Himself, on behalf of sinful persons, God’s judgment upon sin. He rose bodily from the grave and ascended to the right hand of the Father where He intercedes for us. We believe that the Holy Spirit is God present and active in the world. The Holy Spirit was given to the Church in His fullness at Pentecost. By the Spirit, Christ lives in His Church, the gospel is proclaimed, and the kingdom of God is manifested in the world. We believe in the divine inspiration, truthfulness, and authority of both the Old and New Testaments, the only written Word of God, without error in all it affirms. The Scriptures are the only infallible rule of faith and practice. The Holy Spirit preserves God’s Word in the Church today and by it speaks God’s truth to peoples of every age. Pillar College is an accredited learning community dedicated to building tomorrow’s leaders today. The only accredited Christian college in New Jersey, Pillar has been offering a Christ-centered education for over 100 years. We offer traditional four-year Bachelor of Arts degrees in addition to two-year and nontraditional degree or certificate options for adult learners. When you visit any of our three locations—in Somerset, Newark or Paterson—you’ll find that Pillar College is more than an address. It’s a community of supporters. 16. When Jamestown Business College was founded in 1886, its charter called for the "establishment of a school designed to qualify young men and women for office requirements at low cost to those whose inclinations and ambitions lead them to business pursuits." The college's mission remains fundamentally the same today. The college fulfills this mission by offering degree and non-degree programs that develop professional competencies for business careers and provide general education to contribute to each student's intellectual and emotional growth. The various programs meet student needs and the demands of the area community. The measure of the college's success will be evidenced by the success of its graduates in finding relevant employment by the partnerships the college has forged with the business community and by the opportunities available to students interested in pursuing additional education. Jamestown Business College is dedicated to believing that its programs should prepare students to enter the workforce and take part fully in today's society. The college offers general education courses to help students think logically and critically, improve their communication skills, achieve self-knowledge, work cooperatively in teams, and develop an appreciation of life-long learning. These are essential skills for graduates to possess in our rapidly changing society and increasingly complex workplace. All students are encouraged by the faculty and staff to achieve their academic and personal potential. To accomplish this, the college provides a supportive environment in which students can access a range of academic, personal, and career services. It is also essential to the college that its student body represents all segments of the diverse community it serves, adding richness and strength to the teaching and learning process. Our mission is to educate and empower students to enter the workplace with the knowledge and professional skills necessary to be successful in business, advance their education, and participate fully in our community and society. There are two essential elements in creating and maintaining protective programs and systems: understanding students and employees of campus crime and safety hazards and communication methods and activities to reduce or eliminate security and safety threats and hazards. Therefore, it is the policy of Jamestown Business College that all students and employees of Jamestown Business College are to report criminal acts and safety hazards or occurrences known to them. In the event of any concern, the proper reporting procedure for everyone is to contact Jamestown Business College's administrative staff at 716.664.5100 during regular operating hours. In the event of an immediate threat, danger, injury, or criminal occurrence, you are advised to call the local police/fire/emergency medical service in your jurisdiction first. Management program prepares students for a wide range of advanced professional options in the business arena. The program focuses on implementing strategic business practices, the role of ethics in the workplace, decision-making strategy, and global business practice knowledge. The advanced business administration curriculum includes operations management, critical thinking, human resources, business ethics, organizational behavior, and project management. The Dean provides personalized counseling and assistance to students who are interested in a transfer. Students interested in transferring should contact the Dean to learn about the institutions to which JBC graduates have recently transferred their JBC credits. Acceptance of credit is solely determined by the institution to which the student is applying. Jamestown Business College has an agreement with the James Prendergast Library to provide library services for JBC students. The James Prendergast Library is located at 509 Cherry Street, Jamestown, NY, near the college. The mission of the James Prendergast Library is to provide access to information resources, staff, facilities, and services that respond to the pursuit of knowledge, education, lifelong learning opportunities, and cultural enrichment by the people of the City of Jamestown and Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties. The library is open to the general public but is Jamestown Business College's number one resource in the area. Prendergast Library's reference staff meets with all students during their ENG151 course to demonstrate how to use the library's databases and resources. At Jamestown Business College, we understand that most students' significant concern is how they will pay for college. That is why JBC's Financial Aid staff is available to work with each student individually to discuss the most effective plan possible for meeting college costs. Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first step toward receiving federal and state aid for college. Many colleges and scholarship programs also use the FAFSA to award financial aid. Therefore every college-bound student should complete it. The FAFSA is prepared annually by current and prospective college students to determine their eligibility for student financial aid. Student loans are designed to help students pay for post-secondary education. JBC participates only in the Federal Direct Student Loan program consisting of subsidized Stafford, unsubsidized Stafford, and parent (PLUS) loans. A full financial aid counseling session will assist students in determining their needs. All FAFSA filers are encouraged to use the IRS DRT (IRS Data Retrieval Tool). The IRS DRT tool allows students and parents to access the IRS tax return information needed to complete the FAFSA and transfer (import) the data directly into their FAFSA, saving lots of time. 18. The monastery in Lebanon has always been a school. For centuries, Lebanon has owed to the Church in general and monasteries, particularly its cultural and educational development, its didactic art, and its spiritual, literary, and artistic heritage. The Church was the central protagonist in the Nahda, the renaissance in Arab thought. The role of ecclesiastical institutions was decisive in reviving the Arab language and literature after a prolonged state of torpor known as Inhabitat or decadence. The 1736 Synod of Mount Lebanon commanded not only free education but also free clothing and food. Since its foundation towards the end of the seventeenth century, The Maronite Antonine Order has always regarded teaching and educating the youth as a mission and a sphere of its parochial activity. A school was almost always geographically linked to each of the monasteries. Antonine University would like to locate itself amid this famous ecclesiastical tradition. Being an heir to such a glorious past, it aims to maintain a secular, salutary, and civilizing mission. In the past, education had a global character. There was no differentiation among disciplines. The boundaries between school and university were not clear, and the same applied to the differentiation among faculties and courses. The same instructor used the same book for almost all courses to teach all the students in the same institution. This is how the monasteries of Baabda, Mar-Chaya, Ghazir, Deir-el-Kalaa, and Kattine taught their students grammar and languages and philosophy, theology, music, law, and jurisprudence. Higher learning in the East gradually became classified into independent disciplines. The same applies to the allocation of different courses to different faculties. The specialty was increasingly imperative at the level of the institute, the instructor, and the student. The Lebanese state also gradually improved higher learning legislation. Throughout this differentiation process, The Antonine Order committed itself never to confine its educational mission to one field. To that end, the order has continued for decades to prepare its staff members in the most reputed universities in Europe and elsewhere to assume their academic and administrative responsibilities at its university. Meanwhile, the Antonine Order has witnessed several developments at the level of organized higher learning. Throughout those stages, we have been preoccupied with meeting the growing needs of the middle and the lower classes and contributing to Lebanese society's development. In 1979 and following the agreements signed with Belgian universities, Lebanese students started their studies at the Antonine Institute. They completed them in Belgium, where they graduated with Belgian diplomas. The majors ranged from applied sciences to medicine and dentistry. Engineering students did two years in Baabda, followed by three in Belgium; medical students did the first three years in Baabda. They then went to Belgium for another four years, and dentistry students had to spend four years in Baabda before going to Belgium to do their fifth year and obtain the Belgian state diploma in surgery-dentistry. From the beginning, the Antonine students have demonstrated remarkable achievements at The University of Liege, The Free University of Brussels, The Catholic University of Louvain, where they graduated with official diplomas. At present, those graduates have successful careers in addition to having a legal status in their country. Furthermore, it is worth noting that the Antonine Order had a pastoral concern; due to the war, many young Lebanese people, especially Christians, left the country searching for university studies abroad. The results and the validity of that education were uncertain and questionable. Host countries were not adequate milieu for them, and many were lost irremediably. This constituted a real hemorrhage at the human and financial levels, and the young had to face many economic, cultural, linguistic, ethical, and human problems. Many people opted for East European countries. They came back with debatable academic standards and professional competence, especially with an ideology that is hardly commendable for our society. 19. The American University of Technology was established in 1998 and received the first presidential decree number 2143 on July 14, 2000, then decree number 846 on January 18, 2008. The Finder campus, located on the Byblos highway and built on 23000 square meters, is undergoing a significant expansion. It is convenient for students coming from North Metn, Kesrwan, Byblos, and the North. Work to add four buildings started in April 2001. AUT has been ranked 5th among the 44 private universities in Lebanon by www.webometrics.info. AUT employs over 90 staff members and 110 faculty members. A medical doctor, a psychologist, and a spiritual counselor are on campus to assist students and staff. Students and staff enjoy using a cafeteria, a sports court, a reading room, a lounge, and access to e-library and postal services. Traditional methods are revised, and paradigms shifted to meet the challenges of 21st Century global markets. Individuals need to consider many factors before making decisions of socioeconomic, geopolitical, technological, ecological, and cultural importance. Here a question poses itself. Is our Higher Education System paving the way for such an evolutionary shift? The answer lies with us. AUT has already taken the mantle to prepare coming generations for the new era. Its primary focus is on promoting interpersonal and intrapersonal relations, leadership, and independent maturity. A hands-on application of knowledge complements a solid theoretical background. The eclectic nature of learning is emphasized in the classroom, on the web, in on-the-job training, and at the workplace. What makes AUT different: AUT follows the Active Learning Method, which is more compatible with the modern workplace than traditional methods AUT has integrated technology in the learning/teaching process. Students make use of computers, the internet, and other technological innovations in their studies and can function effectively in the new millennium business environment AUT offers a sea of activities, both social and physical, to its students. Graduates will be well-rounded, critical, creative, problem-solving, team players, be ready for the new business environment of the 21st century AUT developed tripartite partnerships with highly reputed universities on the one hand and with industry and the public sector on the other hand, so students benefit from a model of learning that is best suited for professional success AUT maintains a low student/teacher ratio allowing for a better learning environment AUT offers constant support for students, with a dedicated Center for Student Success to help with their every need (first in Lebanon) AUT placement office assists students with finding internships and jobs in Lebanon and abroad AUT keeps a close watch over employment trends in Lebanon and the world, and its programs are often modified in order to adapt to the ever-evolving requirements of the workplace The mission of AUT is to provide an innovative, technology-rich, entrepreneurial, experiential university research and learning environment that produces civically active and market-ready graduates. AUT launched the Blue Caravan initiative for diabetes screening and awareness in 2013 and examined 5,000 patients throughout 40 different locations. Its action collaborates with the Ministry of Health, the International Diabetes Federation, and the Lebanese Diabetes Society. AUT has pioneered human rights by introducing this topic as a required course for all students in 2005, a step that was later on followed by other Lebanese and Arab universities. AUT is a partner of the United Nations for the Arab Regional Camp for human rights. It is a member of the American Association of College Registrars and Admission Officers and presided the annual meeting of Arab ACRAO, of which it is an active member. All students at AUT are required to take a course in Human Rights Issues. AUT has established a financial aid office that processes students' applications and takes decisions on whether applicants should benefit from financial assistance. The assistance consists mainly of unfunded discounts on tuition fees with some students participating in a work/study program. While it does represent an excellent humanitarian service to the local youth, providing unfunded discounts is not a sustainable one. Therefore financial aid funding is one of the focus areas for fundraising going forward. Since traditional education methods are no longer compatible with today's requirements for success in professional life, AUT has adopted the student-centered active learning method of education, including cooperative, team-based, problem-based, and other innovative techniques learning. 23. Al Balqa Applied university was established in response to the Hashemite letter of embodying the philosophy of Higher Education, in line with the requirements of the stage to construct flexible educational structures concerned in academic, vocational, and applied aspects, promoting creativity and opening new promising paths that meet the needs of the common era, and which are compatible with the fiber of our modern Jordanian society. Given the leading role played by The Early Salt High School on the level of scientific-educational and learning progress, by which it has preserved its cultural legacy that has started since the first quarter of the twentieth century and is incessantly continuing right until this day, preparing thus an elite of early leading figures who, in return, handed in this legacy from their ancestors to their posterity to perfect this role and bind the past with the present, our modern future-related vision was crystal-clear via BAU to provide opportunities for improving the quality of higher education that contribute in human resources preparation on graduate, postgraduate and junior college levels. Community colleges, academic, vocational, and applied performance control, assisting distinguished students in pursuing their studies under conditions suiting their social and financial situation. It paves the way to keep pace with cultural change to fulfill reliability, competition, and universality, updating study plans parallel to study plans followed in highly developed prestigious universities worldwide when students transfer to their schools. We also emphasize framing academic qualifications nationally, regionally, and internationally to be the primary source for well- trained qualifications, reflecting the current level of their specializations and their recent technical applications. The university seeks to qualify research and render community colleges sustainable development centers put into the national economy service, and stressing the importance of quality assurance through its commitment to enhancing the quality of education and learning inputs and developing services and facilities on campus as well. This can influence the quality of scholarly outputs and create competitive opportunities with comparable educational institutions, realizing the concept of sustainable education through the provision of flexible and developed structures, bridging the gap between different educational stages, in addition to implementing an effective administrative follow-up, evaluation, and variation system, far from erroneous bureaucratic management practices. This ultimately yields conscious openness and interaction with the university effectively, transparently, and democratically, and respect for counterpoints of view to make joint decisions formed systematically. It also bolstered teamwork through a fruitful pragmatic approach and optimum exploitation for university resources to enhance its role in sustainable development and Jordanian community service through education and hard and perseverant fruitful work.
