About Me

  1. PENS early history began in 1985. At that time, the beginning of the study team Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for assistance and technical cooperation headed by Prof. Y. Naito from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, came to this polytechnic. After making observations and feasibility studies in 1986, JICA agreed to start technical cooperation in 1987 to send five instructors from Indonesia to the college of technology in Japan. On March 15, 1988, the Government of Japan, through JICA, officially gave the campus to the Indonesian government building, complete with various educational tools. Furthermore, on June 2, 1988, the Polytechnic was established under the name "Polytechnic Electronics and Telecommunications (PET)," and since that time, the school year starts. Cooperation with JICA was continued with the number of polytechnic teachers are sent to various colleges of technology in Japan and vice versa, sending several experts from Japan to this polytechnic. In June 1991, the Minister of Education and Culture reorganized the Polytechnic Institute's entire existence and some universities in Indonesia. At that point, this Polytechnic was renamed "Polytechnic Electronics Surabaya (PES)," which is part of the Institute of Technology Surabaya (ITS).In 1996, the Polytechnic name was re-converted by the Minister of Education and Culture to "Electronic Engineering Polytechnic Institute of Surabaya (PENS)."
