About Me

  1. Southeast European University (SEEU) is a private, public, not for profit higher education institution, consisting of faculties, centers, and institutes as its integral part, specialized in socio-economic sciences. SEEU Faculties are organizational units within the University and operate through the Faculty Council and University policy framework approved by the University Board or Executive Committee. SEEU has five faculties: Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies, Faculty of Languages, Cultures, and Communication, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Public Administration and Political Science, and Faculty of Business and Economics. The Mission of the University is defined in the Statute (December 1, 2008); it seeks excellence in teaching and research within the higher education system in the Republic of Macedonia by offering equal opportunities for all based on impartiality and merit. One of the critical elements of the mission of the University includes active cooperation with universities in the Republic of Macedonia as well as with the international universities. The main aim under which the University is governed and managed is to contribute to higher education in the Albanian language through a mutual interethnic understanding and aims to provide a multilingual and multicultural approach to teaching and research by developing study programs according to broad European and international standards. University governing bodies are the Board of the University, the Rector, the University Senate, and the Rector's Council. Southeast European University is ranked third at the national level among 19 universities of the Republic of Macedonia. This ranking was carried out by the external evaluator, the Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In spring 2000, OSCE High Commissioner for National Minorities initiated discussions to establish a new university in the Republic of Macedonia, which was supported by international donors. Following the adoption of the Law on Higher Education by the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia, that allowed the founding of universities that are not related to the state and supported higher education in the Albanian language. In late 2000, OSCE High Commissioner for National Minorities started the planning of the University. Construction work started in March 2001, and southeast European University (SEEU) was opened six months later. In November 2002, the number of students was 2250, and in October 2003, the number of students was 3700. In October 2001, it established itself as a quality-led, financially sustainable university by opening its campus in Tetovo. It is now regarded as a model for multi-ethnic, multilingual higher education in southeast Europe. Moreover, it has successfully combined the best European and US experience and has continued to benefit from academic collaborations sponsored by the EU Commission and USAID, among other donors. It benefits from scholarship support provided by The Netherlands and The Open Society Institute. Its history, which you can read in 'About the University', is a fascinating account of how SEEU has reached this position of strength against a background of political and economic uncertainties in the region. Now SEEU reaches out to other institutions in promoting research collaboration, exchange of students and staff, and its community. The University is equipped with many facilities that serve students in achieving their goals within their chosen disciplines. Wanting all graduates to benefit fully from their solid academic backgrounds, the University provides support and practical advice concerning their careers. To support this, the University has signed cooperation agreements with private and public enterprises to incorporate students in continuous practical work to use the knowledge and skills acquired at SEEU maximally. By choosing to study at South East European University (SEEU), you have selected an attractive, promising, and highly responsive university education environment. I am sure that you will be regular students in lectures and exercises, where, with the help of your professors and assistants, you will learn, overcome challenges, and complete your studies on-time. First of all, here you will be prepared with the necessary knowledge for the labor market. You will find the academic and cultural differences that will enrich your studies at South East European University. Universities must offer and provide new generations with capacities, skills, and knowledge to compete in the global labor market. The new realities in Southeast Europe will necessarily change the present and the future of this region, transforming the Balkans into a success story as part of the European family. We, the staff and students working together, aim to realize the project "SEEU 3.0". If the project "2.0" had to do with users as content creators, "3.0" will be creating personalized approaches tailored according to individual requirements in the context of a joint development vision. After all, it is our great pleasure to have you here. SEEU appreciates the fact that you have chosen South East European University by appreciating our study offer. Not surprisingly, all of our joint commitment has only one purpose: to find opportunities to help you move forward in your careers! View full university

  7. We recognize these on Social Media pages and through the Website portal, teacher emails, and newsletters for parents of enrolled students. You will often find stories on awarded students and the College in local and state newspapers. We update our several Honours Boards in the College's foyer every year to celebrate the achievements of that year group and inspire emerging generations. They are too numerous to mention all of them here, but here are some of our students' more recent achievements. The College held its first academic year in 1985, under the original name of Maranatha Christian College. The ambitious initiative got off the ground through the leadership and support of Rockingham Baptist Church. The original vision was to provide Christ-centered education to families in the Rockingham region, and this still forms the foundation of our vision today. SCBC is aligned with the Baptist denomination, which beliefs in one true God: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The teachings of the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments form the doctrinal base. Families do not need to have the Christian faith to attend the College but must support the Christian ethos of the school.
  8. South Kent School prepares young men to succeed in college and thrives as thoughtful and engaged citizens in a rapidly changing and intensely competitive world. Guided by our mission, South Kent School's academic, athletic, and student life programming work together to develop thriving young men. Using our contemporary expertise in male adolescent education, we are continually evolving and adapting to ensure we provide students with the skills and develop the character they will need to succeed in college and the world beyond. In the classroom, every SKS boy is provided the resources and encouragement he needs to live as a thriving young man in uniform and life. These principles, along with the lessons and traditions passed down by our earliest leaders, form the School's foundations, and throughout the years, as the School has changed and grown, have remained relevant and continue to serve as a guidepost for all we do. A South Kent School education is about far more than just what happens in the classroom between students and teachers; at SKS, attention is given to all aspects of a student's growth and development. In this space, I will share my thoughts on South Kent School, the latest thinking in the field of education, and, because parents are vital to a boy's growth, information, and links to resources that can help you better understand and be more involved in your son's education. South Kent School refers to grades 9th through 12th as "forms" third through sixth. This categorization is adopted from the British, who traditionally used this term in their boarding schools. South Kent School is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. It holds memberships in the Cum Laude Society, the National Association of Independent Schools, the National Association of Episcopal Schools, the Secondary School Admission Test Board, the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools, and the National Association for College Admission Counseling.
  9. South Hills Academy is a private school in West Covina, California, that emphasizes excellence in the present and readiness for the future in students from preschool through Grade 12. At SHA, staff and students work together to help students achieve five key outcomes that will be important as they venture into adulthood. In all our work, recreation, and interaction with one another, we - the staff, parents, and students - strive to exhibit character that is consistent with Christ's teachings. This identity is at the heart of our day-to-day lives here at South Hills Academy. It is the basis of our family atmosphere. It is the foundation of our approach to helping students develop into healthy, successful adults by graduating from high school. Another fundamental aspect of successful people and our daily operations at South Hills Academy is effective communication. Teachers work to continually provide students with opportunities, models, and feedback to develop outstanding communication skills. Students learn to read, write, listen, and speak effectively in various situations by participating in stimulating projects and activities organized by the teacher, student-run activities, and informal interactions with fellow students and teachers. We believe that strong social engagement is vital for the prosperity of individuals and society. So we guide our students to develop the habits and skills of beneficial social engagement, allowing them to live more fulfilling lives as adults and contribute to the spread of Christian values and the continued improvement of our society. Through lessons in the classroom, modeling by our staff members, participation in field trips and projects, and experience working and playing with their schoolmates, and our students will learn to respect the rights and value of others, to understand and appreciate diversity, to build positive relationships, and to assume responsibility for making beneficial contributions to their communities. Critical thinking is a skill that is even more necessary in the age of information and technology. With all of the information that constantly bombards us, we need to know how to find the truth and separate it from untruth. SHA equips students with a strong foundation of truthful knowledge and skills to gather, process, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate information using various strategies. By the time students graduate from high school, SHA wants students to have the confidence and ability to successfully navigate the sea of information to make sagacious decisions, solve problems, resolve conflicts, avoid falling prey to deception and falsehood, and continue to discover the truth. Recognizing that our world is becoming smaller and more globalized, SHA nurtures students into global citizens. These adults have a solid understanding and appreciation of the world's current situations and peoples and capable of interacting with people of different cultures beneficially collaborative and synergistic manner. Being global citizens also means upholding our responsibility to help take care of our world and to promote peace, mutual respect, and goodwill in all our actions and interactions. South Hills Academy and its staff are committed to creating an effective learning environment that encourages our students to reach their potential. We strive to open doors for every student while empowering them to grow and continue to discover opportunities for themselves as they leave our programs. By achieving the five outcomes described above, students will develop into highly successful and fulfilled individuals.
  10. "Taste and see that God is good." King David's words in the 34th chapter of Tehillim are referenced on our school's logo and with good reason. Taste and sight are very active senses. One does not passively taste fine cuisine, and one does not casually look at a magnificent piece of art. King David challenges us to fully experience Hashem by immersing ourselves actively in pursuit of the knowledge of God. So too, the experience of learning at KYHS is active. Our students and our teachers are actively engaged, learning together, and striving toward achieving the most and greatest that each of us is capable of. Our students excel in Judaic Studies and General Studies. Upon graduation, they continue their education at the finest yeshivot, seminaries, and universities at which they continue to be engaged, challenged, and inspired. We are proud that over 90% of our graduates spend at least one year of study in Israel before continuing their studies in college. Katz Yeshiva High School of South Florida serves the local Jewish communities. All members of our school community are actively engaged in the lifelong process of learning and character development. Toward that end, we strive to: INSPIRE our students to make a lifelong commitment to Jewish values, learning, and observance, and view all disciplines and pursuits through the prism of Torah. INSPIRE our students to make a lifelong commitment to Jewish values, learning, and observance, and view all disciplines and pursuits through the prism of Torah. Katz Yeshiva High School of South Florida welcomes families of all backgrounds who share our academic and spiritual growth goals for their children. Our annual Open House in November showcases the Judaic and General Studies learning and our array of Co-Curricular. Interested students begin the application process by submitting an online application, taking an entrance exam, and interviewing with the Admissions Committee members. Our Director of Admissions, Melissa Pereira, meets with prospective families upon request and is available for the facility's tours. General Studies at KYHS aims to broaden and deepen their understanding of the best that the world of knowledge has to offer while developing the skills and passion for lifelong learning. KYHS offers courses that aim to challenge each student at the most appropriate level for him or her. We offer Advanced Placement (A.P.), honors, accelerated, grade level, and principle courses. The staff members in each department coordinate their teaching so that themes are reinforced in each class. While all undergraduate students at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology major in one of 16 engineering and science disciplines, they must also take courses in our core curriculum so that they write and communicate effectively and understand the human experience and the world around them through the study of the arts, humanities and social sciences. There are no comfortable degrees at Mines. But if you are admitted and are willing to work hard, the exceptional faculty at Mines are willing to help you succeed. The history of South Texas College of Law Houston dates back to 1886 when the local YMCA drafted its constitution, which called for the organization to engage in educational endeavors. In 1923, the YMCA decided to establish a law school focusing on offering night classes for working professionals. So began a tradition of educational excellence and relevant career preparation that has now spanned almost a century. South Texas School of Law, as it was then known, opened its doors on Sept. 24, 1923, with seven part-time instructors and a first class of 34 students. Classes were held in a single room in the YMCA basement, with wooden fans suspended from the ceiling and chairs with arms that served as desks. But by 1945, when it changed its name to South Texas College of Law Houston, enrollment had surpassed the University of Texas School of Law for the first time. In 2009, Donald J. Guter was announced as the new President and Dean of the College. After a nationwide search, he was selected, leaving the faculty of Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh, where he also served as dean from 2005 through 2008. Under Dean Guter's leadership, the College has further strengthened its tradition of developing some of the best-prepared lawyers in the state and nation. Students consistently outperform the five-year average bar pass rate for Texas, and graduates maintain one of the state's highest employment rates. Beyond that, they enter the workforce with less debt than their counterparts at other private law schools. In the fall of 2016, the school continued to receive national recognition. It was named the #1 BEST of the DECADE in Moot Court competitions, holding the most national championships of any public or private law school in the U.S., as recognized by PreLaw Magazine.

The land-grant heritage of South Dakota State University, which began with a college founded in 1881, originates from local and national legislation dating back to 1862. The Morrill Act, passed by Congress and signed by President Abraham Lincoln in July of that year, embodied a revolutionary idea in higher education. The legislation created a new type of educational institution to instruct in both liberal and practical arts to people in all parts of the country who needed to work for a living. In 1889, when South Dakota achieved statehood, Congress, acting under the Morrill Act of 1862, granted 160,000 acres of land for the use and support of the "agricul" real college." By acc "posting this land allocation, the State had to designate the Agricultural College as a land-grant college. In 1965 Ph.D. programs were established in Agronomy, Agricultural Economics (later discontinued), Animal Science, and Plant Pathology (later discontinued). A decade later, in 1974, the College of General Registration was established to assist students undecided about majors, pre-professional students, or students who wanted a one or two-year general studies program. In 1975 the Department of Education was reorganized and renamed the Division of Education. In 1989 the Division of Education was granted college status. The College of Home Economics was renamed the College of Family and Consumer Affairs. We are the State's State's university—and if you ask us, the best. State was a leader in education and continues to lead the way into the next century. South Carolina State University (S.C. State) is a historically Black public 1890 land-grant senior comprehensive institution of approximately 4,500-6,000 students. Located in Orangeburg, South Carolina, SC State University is committed to providing affordable and accessible quality baccalaureate programs in business, applied professional sciences, mathematics, natural sciences, engineering, engineering technology, education, arts, and humanities. Several programs are offered at the master's level in teaching, human services, agribusiness, and the educational specialist and doctorate programs offered in educational administration. S.C. State University prepares highly skilled, competent, and socially aware graduates to enable them to work and live productively in a dynamic, global society. Through technology and traditional teaching and learning methods, research, and service, the University enhances citizens' quality of life. It contributes to the economic development of the state and nation. University requirements place considerably more demands on the student's intellectual abilities and interest than does high school. However, high achievement in high school is an indication of the ability to do well in college. Admission is granted to applicants giving evidence of adequate preparation and ability to pursue tertiary education successfully at South Carolina State University. For the Admission of first-time entering first-year students, the primary emphasis is placed on completing all required college preparatory courses (as determined by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education), grade point average (GPA) rank-in-class. The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT I) or American College Test (ACT) score is evaluated in conjunction with the high school scholastic achievement. The University reserves the right to deny Admission to any applicant who, in the judgment of the Admissions Committee or the Director of Admissions, may not benefit from South Carolina State University's educational program or whose presence or conduct may negatively impact its program. The University also reserves the right to look beyond the necessary academic credentials to grant Admission to applicants when an applicant possesses unique talents and accomplishments that will contribute to the institutional program. Distance education courses offered by South Carolina State University may require students to complete an examination in a proctored environment to confirm their identity. Currently, South Carolina State University does not charge a fee for the administration of proctored exams to verify student identity in distance education courses. S.C. State shares the historic mission of our nation's land-grant universities to provide education, research, and outreach services to benefit our state, nation, and the larger world if you are a scientist, researcher, entrepreneur/small businessperson, farmer, economic developer, non-profit representative, educator or only a concerned citizen. Founded in 1896 as the state's sole public college for black youth, SOUTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY has played a crucial role in educating African-Americans in the state and nation. As a land-grant institution, it struggled to provide agricultural and mechanical training to generations of black youngsters. Its extension program sent farm and home demonstration agents into rural counties to provide knowledge and information to impoverished black farm families. The University has educated scores of teachers for the public schools. It provided education in sciences, literature, and history. The support of the Rosenwald Fund and the General Education Board helped the institution survive the Depression. After World War II, the state legislature created a graduate program and a law school at SOUTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY to prevent black students from enrolling in the University of South Carolina's graduate and legal education programs. The legislature also dramatically increased funding at the college to make "separate but equal" a reality in higher education in South Carolina. During the 1950s and 1960s, hundreds of S.C. STATE students participated in local civil rights demonstrations and were arrested. In 1968 three young men were slain and 27 wounded on the campus by state highway patrolmen in the Orangeburg Massacre. Since 1966, S.C. STATE has been open to white students and faculty, but it has mostly retained its mission and character as a historically black institution. In 1971, the agricultural program was terminated, and the college farm was transformed into a community recreation center consisting of a golf course and soccer and baseball fields. Today nearly 5000 students are majoring in a wide range of programs that include agribusiness, accounting, art, English, and drama and fashion merchandising, physics, psychology, and political science.
  20. Known familiarly as "Sewanee" by its students, faculty, staff, and friends, the University of the South offers an unmatched educational experience. The University remains purposefully small and dedicated to building a sense of community. All classes are taught by professors, not graduate teaching assistants, and close faculty-student interaction ensures that each student enjoys a rich and personal educational experience. It is not unusual for students and faculty members to shoulder on research projects and journal articles, meet for coffee at a local eatery or serve together as members of the university orchestra, volunteer fire department, and other civic groups. The result of such individualized education is evident in the academic success of Sewanee students and alumni. The University has had 26 Rhodes Scholars—a number that puts Sewanee in the top four nationally among American liberal arts colleges—as well as 34 NCAA Postgraduate Fellows, 47 Watson Fellows, and dozens of Fulbright Scholars, and has an acceptance rate to graduate and professional schools that far outpaces its peers. The School of Theology has added countless bishops to its alumni, including three of the last four presiding bishops of the Episcopal Church. Sewanee offers 36 majors, 43 minors, and 15 special programs, along with pre-professional programs in business, health/medicine, education, engineering, and law. More than 40 percent of students participate in study-abroad programs, and a comprehensive endowed program that provides financial support for summer internships has greatly strengthened career development for undergraduates. In an era of specialization, Sewanee upholds the broad-based ideals of liberal education as a surer means to success. At the University of the South, the adherence to outstanding liberal arts education and enduring traditions of honor, community, and respect have transformed many generations of students and have earned the abiding loyalty and support of alumni who enjoy lives of integrity, leadership, and service. The University is located atop the Cumberland Plateau between Nashville and Chattanooga, Tennessee. Sewanee's physical environment, which includes the 13,000–acre Domain (as the campus and surrounding area is known), provides a remarkable academic and recreational resource, and an unparalleled place in which to study and reflect. It invites students to engage in both a multitude of outdoor activities and a careful study of the natural environment. The University of the South is an institution of the Episcopal Church dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom in close community and full freedom of inquiry, and enlightened by Christian faith in the Anglican tradition, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds to the end that students be prepared to search for truth, seek justice, preserve liberty under law, and serve God and humanity. The College of Arts and Sciences is committed to developing the whole person through a liberal arts education of the highest quality. Outstanding students work closely with distinguished and diverse faculty in a demanding course of humane and scientific study that prepares them for achievement and service lives. Providing rich opportunities for leadership and intellectual and spiritual growth, while grounding its community on a pledge of honor, Sewanee enables students to live with grace, integrity, and a reverent concern for the world. The School of Theology educates women and men to serve the Episcopal Church's broad whole in ordained and lay vocations. The School develops leaders who are learned, skilled, informed by the Word of God, and committed to the mission of Christ's church in the Anglican tradition of forming disciples through the everyday life of prayer, learning, and service. Sewanee's seminary education and world-wide programs equip people for ministry through the gift of theological reflection in the community. Sewanee, as we are familiarly known, is an internationally recognized university with students from 31 countries and 48 states. Consistently ranked as one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country, the University of the South is considered one of the "best values" in higher education and one of the top five most beautiful campuses in the United States. Sewanee is committed to education, diversity, and service. Twenty-six Rhodes Scholars have been educated at Sewanee, and we offer a wide range of academic opportunities for young scholars with world-class talent to thrive. With a campus that covers 13,000 acres, you are guaranteed to learn as much outside the classroom as you will inside of it. The outdoors may become your classroom. But don't take our word for it. Come to Sewanee for a visit, and you be the judge. Sewanee's culture of excellence leads students to discover their potential in and out of the classroom. During their four years here, Sewanee students explore multiple directions, wear various hats, and cross-disciplinary boundaries to shape identities for themselves. They are vibrant members of our shared community. Discover what you can do—and what you can discover about yourself along the way. The staff members in the Office of Student Life are ready to help you on your adventure. The sidebar navigation will introduce programs, departments, and people that contribute to the Sewanee experience.
