RSSU was founded in 1991 to continue the core of the research and teaching activities of the former Higher School of the Communist Party. Initially, research and teaching focused on the Social and Political Sciences. Gradually, University activities extended into project work on social policy for State Institutions and the education and support of acting administrators. Russian State Hydrometeorological University (RSHU) offers courses at all levels of higher professional training leading to BA, MA, Specialist, Candidate (equivalent to Ph.D.), and Doctor of Sciences degrees in the area of environmental studies. SHU has the status of the Regional Meteorological Training Center of the World Meteorological Organization. Russian State Agrarian University - Timiryazev Moscow Agricultural Academy (RSAU – TMAA or RSAU – MAA named after K.A. Timiryazev) is the oldest and internationally renowned institution of higher education in Russia. In 2015 the academy celebrated its 150th anniversary. Presidential Decree founded the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) on September 20, 2010. This foundation involved the merger of two previously existing academies: The Academy of National Economy (ANE), which was established in 1977, and the Russian Academy of Public Administration (RAPA), established in 1991. The Pushkin State, Russian Language Institute, specializes in teaching Russian to international students and training teachers to teach Russian as a foreign language. Platov South Russian state polytechnic university (NPI) was established on October 18, 1907, with the most excellent approval of Nicholas II as Don Polytechnic Institute. Fifty-four departments (incl. the departments based at the Omsk, Penza and Chelyabinsk University Branches), 13 research departments, the Directorate for Innovative Development and the Center for Personnel Development and Planning, approximately 370 teaching staff members and researchers, and more than 80 undergraduate and postgraduate students took part in the research work within the framework of the above projects. Joint teams of researchers participated in the work when implementing 13 of the above projects. The researchers presented their reports to an expert commission and representatives of the Staff of the Government of the Russian Federation. In 2015, 67 research projects were implemented by the orders made by the Government of the Russian Federation. The total amount of funds allocated was 200 mln. Rubles. ERU, the first Russian university in the Middle East, is the outcome of cooperation with seven of the best Russian universities and provides an exceptional educational environment. The ERU adopts the credit hour system, which allows the student to study according to his/her own pace and abilities. Unlike the usually fixed format teaching, followed by most Egyptian universities, the credit hour system enables the student to select several courses from a well planned academic program. ERU, concerned with society's welfare, has kept the tuition fees to very reasonable levels, convenient to many families in the region. Tuition fees at ERU might be the lowest compared to those at other private universities in the area. Besides, ERU provides scholarships for the highest performing students. ERU has been established in cooperation with seven of the best Russian institutions as patrons and partners. They guarantee a high standard of academic programs at ERU. Besides, they provide ERU students with the opportunity to do summer training and study for one or more semesters in Russia. Currently, the engineering faculty offers four programs: Architecture Engineering, Construction Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, and Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering. Three more programs have already been approved and will be introduced shortly: Renewable Energy Engineering, Heavy Equipment Engineering, and Nuclear Power Stations Engineering. Each student is assigned an academic advisor who guides him in planning his study program, monitors his progress, and helps solve any problems that may be encountered. The system encourages the students to develop independent thinking, gives them enough time to widen their scope of interest, and trains them to search for information through the library and other learning facilities.
