    Fisher College

At Fisher College, we believe that college is more than just an education—it's a life-changing experience. For more than a century, Fisher has been changing lives by providing opportunities to students focused on the three most important aspects of a college experience: education, dedication, and life. Fisher is a four-year college located in Boston's historic Back Bay with locations in Brockton, New Bedford, and North Attleboro. The College provides affordable, real-world educations that prepare students to achieve their career goals and compete in today's challenging economy. Additionally, Fisher College is dedicated to the education of our military service members. Fisher College first opened its doors in 1903 in the predominantly working-class city of Somerville, Massachusetts, just two miles north of Boston. The school traces its roots to educational entrepreneurs Myron and Edmund Fisher, who believed the immigrants of that city in the early 1900s should have an opportunity to advance beyond unskilled labor jobs. In 1952, the Board of Regents of Higher Education of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts approved Fisher as a two-year college, and five years later it was given degree-granting powers. In 1970, Fisher gained accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and operates as an independent, non-profit educational institution, currently boasting a diverse population of students from all parts of America and many foreign countries. Fisher College improves lives by providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary for a lifetime of intellectual and professional pursuits. Fisher embraces student centered education that creates an independent graduate, who thinks critically and is prepared for the workplace. Fisher provides a unique learning environment, enhanced by experiential learning, through attentive, experienced and well-credentialed faculty. The Fisher experience motivates students to take ownership of their learning by preparing them to overcome challenges and pursue opportunities. Fisher celebrates an inclusive campus culture that values learning and diversity, bringing cultures and perspectives together in a dynamic arena. Fisher commits its entire community to supporting students and promoting intellectual curiosity and lifelong learning, through hands-on experiences in the workplace, and through a vibrant co-curricular experience. Fisher expects that its students adhere to the highest moral and ethical principles, and demonstrates the value of public service through research-based and service learning opportunities.

  4. In 1938 in Belmar, New Jersey, Dr. Percy Crawford founded The King’s College to provide a challenging liberal arts education, a deep, meaningful understanding of biblical faith and prepare students to take their education and understanding into the world and its strategic institutions. The King’s College stands firmly rooted in the grand tradition of the animating ideals of Western Civilization, and yet fully engaged in the debates regarding the future of our society. For more than 75 years, the College has produced graduates who lead and bring real change to the strategic public and private institutions worldwide. Through its commitment to the truths of Christianity and a biblical worldview, The King’s College seeks to transform society by preparing students for careers in which they help to shape and eventually to lead strategic public and private institutions, and by supporting faculty members as they directly engage culture through writing and speaking publicly on critical issues. We educate young leaders to seamlessly integrate their faith, ethics, and morality into their lives and careers. Students are immersed in challenging academic and spiritual study that demands thinking, communicating, and problem-solving with the mind, heart, and soul. We require engagement with complex ideas to guide society's strategic institutions — government, commerce, law, media, civil society, education, the arts, and the Church. We participate in a demanding curriculum and present unique opportunities to students in the heart of New York City. We are not a college for the timid soul — we value bravery, commitment, and action. One of the great strengths of The King’s College education is the interdisciplinary nature of the curriculum. Students explore a wide range of ideas and topics, but most importantly, they study the relationships between ideas, generating interest in and recognizing the value of multiple disciplines. Our fifteen minors support each major of study so that students graduate with an impressive, agile intellect and a dependable ability to influence our culture.

  7. The formation of a British University in Egypt arose from a 1998 Memorandum of Cooperation between the UK and the Egyptian Governments. It was envisaged that such an institution would produce UK standards for critical sectors of the Egyptian economy, particularly in engineering, computer science, and business studies. In 2004, with strong support from the British Embassy and the British Council, a Presidential decree was issued establishing the British University in Egypt. The university campus's initial phase was already under construction, and the University welcomed its first cohort (only 200 students) of undergraduate students in September 2005. The University campus was chosen to be located in El Sherouk, one of the new residential and commercial cities in Egypt on the outskirts of Cairo. The BUE program of Basic and Applied Psychology offers students comprehensive specializations that incorporate basic and applied practices. This includes an awareness of regional and international media context, cultural sensitivity, exposure to international communication perspectives, and familiarity with ethical and managerial frameworks. Vision To become the leading broad-spectrum teaching and research university in the Middle East and Northern Africa (MENA) offering a British ethos of higher education with a range of UK partners and other global partners providing internationally recognized quality degrees that develop the knowledge and skills to help our students shape and lead their countries. Mission: To promote cultural, economic, social, and technological development by creating and disseminating new knowledge via research and capable graduates, educated to the best UK academic standards, who are independent learners. Vigorous research activities and postgraduate programs complement the outstanding undergraduate education offered at BUE. The challenges in these areas are enormous, and BUE has gained recognition in research and postgraduate education, both in Egypt and abroad. The multidisciplinary Master's Programmes offered in advanced technology areas, such as renewable energy, advanced materials, sustainability, and web science, are among the first to start in Egypt. These programs are supported by advanced research in many thrust areas, which attract external funding and result in publications in top peer-reviewed journals. Research clusters and focus groups at BUE operate through several research centers. This research environment on the BUE campus also opens opportunities for the students to participate in research projects and explore new ideas first hand alongside the professors and researchers. Additionally, BUE research activities have opened strong collaborations with international universities and research centers and the industry in Egypt.

Egypt is a traditional leader in the Middle East in the field of higher medical education. In recent years, and due to the admission of increasingly large numbers in the governmental universities, Egypt’s leading status was seriously threatened. Some primary and decisive factors in the proper teaching and training of the undergraduates in the medical field are the efficient knowledge deliverance and the close interaction between the student and the teacher. Physical therapy is a vital form of professional patient care that can be applied in most medical disciplines. It is the newest and yet the oldest field of medical practice. It is the newest because it has come to be recognized as an integral part of regular medical care in the past seventy years. However, it is the oldest because physical agents have been used in the treatment of diseases or injuries for thousands of years. The goal of the College of Physical Therapy is to provide the society with therapists who are adequately prepared by a carefully-planned educational program to serve, today and in the future in such capacities, as providers care for patients suffering from temporary or permanent disabilities resulting from musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, neurological, gynecological and pediatric disorders. The College of Engineering was established in1996 to serve Egypt, the Arab countries, and the region by preparing the graduates to carry out their responsibilities, considering our heritage in an industrialized world with a significant number of challenging problems. The college of engineering is working hard to develop professional engineers who can responsibly lead the economic development towards society and the environment. Hence, an engineering graduate is well suited to help in achieving his country’s goals. Our engineering graduates are also suited to work in cross-cultural environments, as many international companies have a presence in Egypt and the region. The Faculty of Foreign Languages and Translation has nine academic departments: English Department, French Department, German Department, Italian Department, Spanish Department, Turkish Department, Chinese Department, Japanese Department, and Arabic Department. The English Department has recently inaugurated a Graduate Studies Programme in literature, linguistics, and translation. Each department is equipped with staff members who have vast expertise in teaching and the practical field of translation. The faculty departments endorse the promise that to learn another language is to step into another world. Moreover, the faculty departments advocate inclusive and interdisciplinary scholarships that develop innovative models for the study and assimilation of languages and literature. College of Applied Medical Sciences seeks excellence through educational programs that reflect recent trends in allied health sciences and contribute to the continuing development of the allied health profession by placing the student at the center of attention, where the student could be an influential and effective participant in the educational process, able to self-learning, having self-esteem, thinking critically, competent in providing high-quality health care, and contribute with their knowledge and scientific research in the service activities of the environment and the community. The Department of Ancient Egyptian Antiquities aims to prepare specialists in the field of ancient Egyptian archeology capable of exploring and accompanying Egyptian and foreign missions with knowledge of Egyptology and its various branches and modern techniques in museum presentation, archaeological excavations, use of modern technologies and knowledge of scientific development in the field of Egyptology.
