      About Me

      1. Since 1925, we’ve helped our students discover what it takes to be undaunted. Unrelenting. Unstoppable. Athenians at the Mount demonstrate this every day. Because for women who are unstoppable, everything is possible. Founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, Mount Saint Mary's University is an independent, Catholic, liberal arts university which provides a values-based undergraduate education for women, as well as innovative programs for graduate and professional men and women on two historic campuses in Los Angeles. It is nationally recognized for its academic programs, its culturally diverse student body, and its focus on preparing the next generation of citizen leaders. Mount Saint Mary's University’s commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusive Excellence stems from our CSJ heritage, Catholic identity, mission and values. We are compelled to always move toward profound love of God and love of neighbor without distinction. We are committed to diversity in all its possible forms with emphasis on the importance of human rights, equity, fairness, inclusiveness and diversity in the broadest sense including differences in gender, race, ethnicity, generational history, culture, socioeconomic class, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, citizenship status, political perspectives, geographic origin and physical ability. Mount Saint Mary’s University strives to be a place where all people feel welcome. Engaging with others from a variety of different backgrounds improves and enriches our learning, living and working environments. Mount Saint Mary’s University offers a dynamic learning experience in the liberal arts and sciences to a diverse student body. As a Catholic university primarily for women, we are dedicated to providing a superior education enhanced by an emphasis on building leadership skills and fostering a spirit to serve others. Our measure of success is graduates who are committed to using their knowledge and skills to better themselves, their environments, and the world. Our students graduate not only with a regular transcript, but also with a Leadership Transcript that documents their involvement, service and leadership experiences on and off campus. This has been a unique advantage for our students when they apply for graduate scholarships and graduate schools or for their first professional positions. At the Mount we go further in that we celebrate the most creative, the most promising, and the best students through beautiful ceremonies that are steeped in our CSJ traditions and values. All of our students are encouraged to develop spiritually and are rewarded not just for their achievements but for their commitment to use their gifts and talents to serve others in their schools, families and communities. Finally, there are really special things about the Mount, sometimes hard to define but genuinely palpable. There is a feel to our college. The mission of Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) is to enhance the emotional growth and academic success of students by promoting balanced lifestyles, positive self-esteem and essential life skills with an emphasis on the development of the whole person. CPS is staffed by licensed psychologists, postdoctoral fellows, and advanced doctoral interns. At CPS we provide psychological counseling services and psycho-educational programs for students. Referrals and emergency services are also provided by the office. In counseling, students can discuss issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, and other personal concerns. Traditional full-time undergraduates, ADN, RN-BSN, ABSN and DPT students may receive up to ten counseling sessions per academic year and can call the office or walk in to make an appointment. All sessions are confidential in keeping with professional ethics and state laws. Information about students is not shared with their families, the faculty, college administrators, or anyone else without the student's written permission. Mount Saint Mary’s University, Los Angeles is committed to providing an environment that is free from harassment, discrimination and retaliation on the basis of sex, sexual orientation or preference, gender, gender identity, race, color, religion, national origin, creed, citizenship status, ancestry, age, marital status, pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions, medical conditions including genetic characteristics, mental or physical disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law, ordinance or regulation. Policy of Zero Tolerance for Harassment, Discrimination and Retaliation / Compliance with Title IX. The Mount Saint Mary’s University, Los Angeles community lives an Unstoppable commitment to the service of others which includes caring and compassion for all and an emphasis on the value of freedom of thought and expression. 15. At Fisher College, we believe that college is more than just an education—it's a life-changing experience. For more than a century, Fisher has been changing lives by providing opportunities to students focused on the three most important aspects of a college experience: education, dedication, and life. Fisher is a four-year college located in Boston's historic Back Bay with locations in Brockton, New Bedford, and North Attleboro. The College provides affordable, real-world educations that prepare students to achieve their career goals and compete in today's challenging economy. Additionally, Fisher College is dedicated to the education of our military service members. Fisher College first opened its doors in 1903 in the predominantly working-class city of Somerville, Massachusetts, just two miles north of Boston. The school traces its roots to educational entrepreneurs Myron and Edmund Fisher, who believed the immigrants of that city in the early 1900s should have an opportunity to advance beyond unskilled labor jobs. In 1952, the Board of Regents of Higher Education of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts approved Fisher as a two-year college, and five years later it was given degree-granting powers. In 1970, Fisher gained accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and operates as an independent, non-profit educational institution, currently boasting a diverse population of students from all parts of America and many foreign countries. Fisher College improves lives by providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary for a lifetime of intellectual and professional pursuits. Fisher embraces student centered education that creates an independent graduate, who thinks critically and is prepared for the workplace. Fisher provides a unique learning environment, enhanced by experiential learning, through attentive, experienced and well-credentialed faculty. The Fisher experience motivates students to take ownership of their learning by preparing them to overcome challenges and pursue opportunities. Fisher celebrates an inclusive campus culture that values learning and diversity, bringing cultures and perspectives together in a dynamic arena. Fisher commits its entire community to supporting students and promoting intellectual curiosity and lifelong learning, through hands-on experiences in the workplace, and through a vibrant co-curricular experience. 16. Founded in 1947 by a group of Missionary Church visionaries, the goal was to create leaders for the world. In the seven decades that have passed since then, we have succeeded in that mission! While some things have changed on campus, we've continued to be intentional as we guide students along in their spiritual journey and path to academic success in some key ways: Our students' spiritual formation is about creating a holistic approach for each student's spiritual journey and personal discovery. That begins with being faithful to God and his word. Mentoring is a part of the Bethel community where students can connect with their peers, faculty, staff, and even alumni. At Bethel, students build lifelong relationships that will continue well past graduation. Academics in over 50 areas of study allow students to explore, grow, and prepare for their future careers. Each field of study is rich with knowledgeable professors seeking the success of our students. Every fall, students return to campus, ready to grow and ready to engage in experiences that will shape them for their future roles in the world. From undergraduate programs that train nurses to sign language interpreters to musicians to athletes, our students impact the world. Our students are offered many opportunities through task force trips, internships, and, finally, careers. We can offer more grad courses now than in the past through an expanded online program. Bethel offers graduate programs online, on-campus, and some as hybrids. We offer master's degrees in business administration (Online MBA), counseling (M.A. in Counseling Online), education (including Master's in Education Online, a school administrator license, Special Education Licensure Online, Transition to Teaching Licensure Program – On-campus (evening courses), Master of Reading and Literacy Online, Online Masters Degree in Educational Leadership), ministry (Master of Ministry Degree Online), Nursing (, Educator's track and Administrator track), Teaching, Theological Studies (Master of Ministry and Master of Arts in Theology). The experiences do not end when students leave campus. In our Bethel Community Stories section, we share stories about our alumni, as well as reports on current students, donors, faculty, staff, and friends whom we hope to provide inspiration and seeds of wisdom. We are a Christian community of learners dedicated to building lives of commitment to leadership in the Church and the world. Bethel provides liberating academic and co-curricular programs to challenge the mind, enlarge the vision, and equip the whole person for lifelong service. Our goal is to partner with our students and families to connect them with the resources they need to help their dreams become a reality. Your education at Bethel College is an investment in your future. We are confident that your time at Bethel will help you become the best version of yourself, with your future potential to become even more than you can imagine! Students can apply for an alternative loan to cover remaining educational expenses, but most will need a credit-worthy cosigner. Based on the federal government's criteria, students who receive federal financial aid may be selected for verification. This process is designed to verify the financial information provided on the FAFSA. A verification worksheet and federal tax information is required to complete the process. Additional information may also be requested. To be considered for all financial aid, information must be submitted within 30 days of the college's written request. In no instance will verification information be processed beyond the student's enrollment period. All federal, state, and institutional grants and scholarships will post to your student account at the start of each semester, once all requirements have been met. Some grants or scholarships may have minimum enrollment, or housing requirements endowed scholarships often require a thank-you note from the recipient to be sent to the donor. Some federal programs require additional steps to be completed before funds being released, such as the direct loan and TEACH grant. From the original Oakwood-Slater Hall and Shupe Hall for underclassmen to the newer Logan Village for upper-level students, there's a rich history in our student dorms. In your home away from home, you'll build close friendships and always support our Student Life Staff. Bethel College's Spiritual Life is often referred to as the heartbeat of campus. Whether you are in the chapel, the classroom, or the dorm, you will find opportunities to grow spiritually. Three times a week, students and staff gather together for chapel. With student-led worship and a variety of speakers, this weekly practice allows the Bethel community to engage different perspectives and experiences. Our Spiritual Life team puts on events to engage the campus in spiritual practices and disciplines throughout the year. Read through the Bible in a weekend during Scripture 66, participate in prayer stations during the Collegiate Day of Prayer, or join the weekly alternative service, Vespers. Most significantly, though, Bethel College is a community of discipleship. There is a vibrant mentoring program on campus, and staff, faculty, and students all reap the benefits of these relationships. We hope you will take part in this essential piece of the Bethel experience. View full university

Whether as future business leaders, teachers, professors, scientists, entrepreneurs, ordained clergy, psychologists, or musicians—it is hoped that Waldorf graduates will aspire to lives of service. The “core” of the liberal arts program has as its goals that students: Learn to think, write, and speak clearly. Begin the process of developing a mature and inquiring mind, with the ability to formulate questions, solve problems, and make both intellectual and value judgments. Engage in and appreciate the arts. Acquire an understanding of our historical and scientific heritage. Begin to develop an appreciation of other cultures and their ways of knowing. And consider their religious commitments for their meaning in life and the world they live and serve.

        Fisher College

Fisher expects that its students adhere to the highest moral and ethical principles, and demonstrates the value of public service through research-based and service learning opportunities.
