  2. Al Buraimi University College is the first university college in Al Buraimi Governorate. Its establishment was an immediate interpretation act and an accurate response to the supreme call of His Majesty, Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed, God Save Him, to the private sector to start investing in higher education through establishing new private academic institutions committed to sustaining more significant educational opportunities in diverse academic fields for the prospective Omani students to meet the needs of the local labor market with skilled local potentials to cope with the global economic changes. The study at the college commenced at the beginning of the second semester of the academic year (2003 – 2004) was a dynamic starting point based on the incredible experience of partnership with California State University; without Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed's wisdom and guidance of higher education in Oman, BUC would have had never been the reality we witness. It is a dream that comes true. BUC started enrolling students in the academic year 2003/2004. Since then, the number of students has been increasing year after year. Our hard work and efforts resulted in significant numbers of highly qualified and competent BUC graduates to be proud of. Making excellence happen needs more than successfully achieving targets. Excellence happens when we keep on improving success itself. Keeping success needs a lot of commitment, diligence, follow-up, feedback, and consistency throughout. Since its establishment, BUC's benefited greatly from the academic affiliation with California State University Northridge (CSUN). The experiences, knowledge, and international standards of CSUN have been very beneficial. We appreciate the valuable supervision and guidance we received from the Ministry of Higher Education. It helped us a lot in developing and getting the higher standards we enjoy now. We, continuously, keep on developing and improving our successful academic programs while providing the academic environment that ensures such success. Good campus facilities and services help students towards more success beyond undergraduate Diplomas and Bachelors aspiring for postgraduate studies. Moving to our new College campus in 2011/2112 has provided such a perfect environment for all BUC's members. Our continuous progress is proof of his royal majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said's vision towards a prosperous Oman as a leading nation in higher education. The supervision of the Omani Ministry of Higher Education, the college affiliation to California State University Northridge, and our persistence to apply quality assurance have considerably enhanced the excellence above and proficiency and have resulted in permanent connections with the various economic sectors (public and private) to promote welfare and progress in the Sultanate. Launching the new college website is an objective response to the ideology of the college administration presided by Shiekh, Ahmed Bin Nasir Al-Nuaimi aiming at innovation and proficiency and has coincided with the inauguration of the new campus, which is deemed a unique turning point to provide a quality and excellent academic environment. Our goal is to maintain a real and permanent collaboration with all the people accessing our website. Every word of thanks goes to those who exerted exceptional efforts to launch this website, mainly to Shiekh, Ahmed Bin Nasir Al-Nuaimi, for his constant support and encouragement. Our students and faculty are leading voices in the nation's economic and cultural development, both locally and regionally. Our mission is to provide graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to our nation's well-being and to actively involve our faculty and staff in the advancement of the public, business, and nonprofit sectors of society. 4. Yarmouk University (YU) was established in June 1976 by a Royal Decree. Yarmouk University has developed steadily into one of the largest and most prestigious state-supported educational institutions in Jordan. We currently have 27850 students, 936 faculty members, and 1740 administrative and technical staff spread over 13 faculties that offer 56 bachelor degree programs, 63 master degree programs, and 19 Ph.D. programs in various specializations. We also have 11 centers for research and career development. The University has carved a unique niche for itself in northern Jordan through the diversity of its programs, which aim to strike a fair balance between the humanities on the one hand and science and engineering specializations on the other. We hope to inspire our young students by offering various specializations combined with excellence in teaching, opportunities for community service and extra-curricular activities, and encouragement of innovation. Our aim is not merely to produce degree-holders but rather productive citizens with integrity, vision, reasoning, tolerance, and a sense of purpose. In recent years, the phenomenon of globalization, coupled with an overall economic decline, has resulted in an unprecedented scarcity of employment opportunities almost everywhere – Jordan is no exception. At Yarmouk University, we aim to combat this challenge by offering courses and training programs for both students and staff through our centers and by partnering with business, industry, NGO’s, and other local or foreign institutions. Several companies have established incubators at the university to offer students training and work experience that prepares them for the broader job market and creates a climate conducive to entrepreneurship and innovation. Research is also one of Yarmouk University’s top priorities, especially within Jordan’s social, economic, environmental, and developmental needs. Several research projects are currently underway in partnership with local and international institutions. Also, the recent establishment of technology transfer offices in public universities, including ours, has served to encourage the commercialization of research findings and inventions – a development that many researchers find appealing. Much has been accomplished over the past three and a half decades since establishing this outstanding institution, but much still needs to be done. When the University was established in 1976, the then Faculty of Arts and Science included specializations in science, arts, economics, and administrative sciences. The departments of Arabic, English, Humanities, and Social Sciences were the core of the Faculty of Arts, established in 1981. View full university

Aligarh Muslim University The University grew out of the work of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the great Muslim reformer and statesman, who, in the aftermath of the Indian War of Independence of 1857 felt that it was important for Muslims to gain Education and become involved in the public life and government services in India. Raja Jai Kishan helped Sir Syed in establishing the University The British decision to replace the use of Persian in 1842 for government employment and the language of Courts of Law caused deep anxiety among Muslims of the sub-continent. Sir Syed saw a need for Muslims to acquire proficiency in the English language and Western sciences if the community were to maintain its social and political clout, particularly in Northern India. He began to prepare the foundation for the formation of a Muslim University by starting schools at Moradabad (1858) and Ghazipur (1863). His purpose for the establishment of the Scientific Society in 1864, in Aligarh, was to translate Western works into Indian languages as a prelude to prepare the community to accept Western Education and to inculcate scientific temperament among the Muslims.
