About Me

  1. Radboud University Nijmegen was established on 17 October 1923 under the name Catholic University Nijmegen. With their University, Dutch Catholics sought to promote the emancipation of Roman Catholics in the Netherlands, who were strongly underrepresented in public administration, the legal profession, medicine, and other sectors. The Radboud Foundation was the body behind this initiative. Radboud University is a comprehensive, international-oriented university that aspires to be one of Europe's best. Together with Radboudumc, we have created an intellectual environment that inspires and challenges our students and staff to extend the scope of academic disciplines and benefit society. Radboud University challenges its students to actively participate in the academic community and trains them to be critical and committed academics, with their views regarding scholarship and society, who will take up responsible positions in a society that is becoming increasingly internationalized. The University's academic staff come from all over the world, and a large proportion of our student population has spent at least some months studying at a university abroad. For its core activities of research and teaching, Radboud University draws its inspiration from academic curiosity and the demands placed upon the University by society. The Strategic Plan sets out the decisions made by Radboud University, based on an analysis of its strengths and weaknesses and of the changing environment in which it performs its core tasks. The Plan describes the goals that the University has set itself for the years ahead. Radboud University offers its staff and students an inspiring, pleasant, and safe work and study environment. It offers its students an education in optimal (academic) surroundings that contribute directly to their formative development as academics and highly trained professionals. To its staff, the University offers opportunities to pursue satisfying careers and develop in their career paths. Students and staff must treat each other and the outside world with respect and integrity. Each member of our academic community is accountable to themselves and others. In this respect, directors, supervisors, professors, and managers have a special responsibility. They are role models because they are to comport themselves with respect and honesty in their daily lives. They have an essential role in taking the initiative and organizing evaluative activities. Authority is clearly defined and transparent. Integrity relates to honesty, openness, and dependability in personal and business relationships, academic education and research, and administration and management. Respectful, as in viewing others as worthy of respect and value. Students and staff take great care when using the resources provided (both by the University and external parties); this includes funds, equipment, furniture, and sports facilities. These resources are to be used solely for the purposes for which they were intended. Radboud University aspires to quality. Internationalization plays a significant role in the quality of our teaching, research, and service provision. These are the three pillars on which we are building towards a leading position in international academia. Our research will only excel if we operate in international partnerships. Our teaching thrives on international exchanges of students and staff. The services we provide are designed to make our international staff and students feel welcome and at home in our academic community. Our international campus reinforces the community spirit and provides facilities for students and top researchers worldwide. View full university

Egypt is a traditional leader in the Middle East in the field of higher medical education. In recent years, and due to the admission of increasingly large numbers in the governmental universities, Egypt’s leading status was seriously threatened. Some primary and decisive factors in the proper teaching and training of the undergraduates in the medical field are the efficient knowledge deliverance and the close interaction between the student and the teacher. Physical therapy is a vital form of professional patient care that can be applied in most medical disciplines. It is the newest and yet the oldest field of medical practice. It is the newest because it has come to be recognized as an integral part of regular medical care in the past seventy years. However, it is the oldest because physical agents have been used in the treatment of diseases or injuries for thousands of years. The goal of the College of Physical Therapy is to provide the society with therapists who are adequately prepared by a carefully-planned educational program to serve, today and in the future in such capacities, as providers care for patients suffering from temporary or permanent disabilities resulting from musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, neurological, gynecological and pediatric disorders. The college of engineering is working hard to develop professional engineers who can responsibly lead the economic development towards society and the environment. Hence, an engineering graduate is well suited to help in achieving his country’s goals. Our engineering graduates are also suited to work in cross-cultural environments, as many international companies have a presence in Egypt and the region. The Faculty of Foreign Languages and Translation has nine academic departments: English Department, French Department, German Department, Italian Department, Spanish Department, Turkish Department, Chinese Department, Japanese Department, and Arabic Department. 16. Welcome to the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. You may become acquainted with the oldest institution of higher learning in Greece and find out about studies, research, and each School and Faculty's various academic activities. You may also be informed about our rich cultural Program and the activities that occur daily throughout the academic year. You will find different types of useful information regarding the infrastructure and the services offered by the NKUA. The idea of establishing a University in Greece emerged alongside the Greek War of Independence, also known as the Greek Revolution. The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, officially founded on April 14th, 1837, is the first University of Greece and the Balkan peninsula, and the Eastern Mediterranean region. The official language of the University of Athens is Greek, which is the official language of the country and one of the 23 languages of the European Union. The instruction and the examinations in all undergraduate programs courses are realized in Greek, while the writing books, the educational material, and the primary texts, which are distributed to the students, are in Greek. The students who enter the University as foreigners may attend courses in the Greek language for free to obtain the language competence their studies at the University require. This possibility is offered to the students currently studying in Athens for one or two semesters through the Erasmus+ Program. The language in which access to knowledge is achieved and the working language of the Postgraduate Programs that leads to obtaining a postgraduate specialty degree or to acquire a doctoral degree (D.D) is Greek, except if the internal regulation of the Postgraduate Program makes provision for the use of (an) another language (s) - as it usually happens in the "foreign languages" departments. The writing up of the doctoral dissertation for the Postgraduate Program or the dissertation for the doctoral degree may be realized in Greek or another language, according to the internal regulations of the Program. The bibliography that is suggested and is currently used in the Postgraduate is in Greek and other languages. For this reason, the knowledge of foreign languages by the prospective incoming students of the Postgraduate Program of the University of Athens is either obligatory or optional but desired. The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) is a learner-focused and research-oriented public University covering a broad spectrum of scientific fields. Its vision is to promote excellence in education and innovation in research, scholarly and other creative endeavors, and be actively involved with local, national, and global communities. In all academic units, our researchers and faculty strive for innovation. In each member of the NKUA community, we seek to develop a passion for excellence and the ability to think critically and contribute to research and innovation. All academic community members are free from discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct in their learning environment and work setting. Everyone has the same access to facilities, rights, and obligations by the University policies and Greek and international laws. The historical profile of the University and its people determine its goals and priorities. We aspire to generate and share knowledge, ensuring significant contributions to public policy-making. 18. Yarmouk University (YU) was established in June 1976 by a Royal Decree. Yarmouk University has developed steadily into one of the largest and most prestigious state-supported educational institutions in Jordan. We currently have 27850 students, 936 faculty members, and 1740 administrative and technical staff spread over 13 faculties that offer 56 bachelor degree programs, 63 master degree programs, and 19 Ph.D. programs in various specializations. We also have 11 centers for research and career development. The University has carved a unique niche for itself in northern Jordan through the diversity of its programs, which aim to strike a fair balance between the humanities on the one hand and science and engineering specializations on the other. We hope to inspire our young students by offering various specializations combined with excellence in teaching, opportunities for community service and extra-curricular activities, and encouragement of innovation. Our aim is not merely to produce degree-holders but rather productive citizens with integrity, vision, reasoning, tolerance, and a sense of purpose. In recent years, the phenomenon of globalization, coupled with an overall economic decline, has resulted in an unprecedented scarcity of employment opportunities almost everywhere – Jordan is no exception. At Yarmouk University, we aim to combat this challenge by offering courses and training programs for both students and staff through our centers and by partnering with business, industry, NGO’s, and other local or foreign institutions. Several companies have established incubators at the university to offer students training and work experience that prepares them for the broader job market and creates a climate conducive to entrepreneurship and innovation. Research is also one of Yarmouk University’s top priorities, especially within Jordan’s social, economic, environmental, and developmental needs. Several research projects are currently underway in partnership with local and international institutions. Also, the recent establishment of technology transfer offices in public universities, including ours, has served to encourage the commercialization of research findings and inventions – a development that many researchers find appealing. Much has been accomplished over the past three and a half decades since establishing this outstanding institution, but much still needs to be done. When the University was established in 1976, the then Faculty of Arts and Science included specializations in science, arts, economics, and administrative sciences. The departments of Arabic, English, Humanities, and Social Sciences were the core of the Faculty of Arts, established in 1981. View full university

We demonstrate this through frequent collaborations with our main campus that benefit our students, faculty, and staff. These collaborations are leveraged to benefit our partners here in Qatar. Guiding our way is our new Strategic Plan for 2016-2021, which blends the goals of Vision 2020 and Qatar National Vision 2030. Through its four strategic imperatives — teaching and lifelong learning, research, engagement, and organizational excellence — this plan is the result of a yearlong process that will guide our journey over the next five years as we maintain and further develop our position as one of the foremost educational institutions in the world. Texas A&M at Qatar supports its mission and vision by serving as a hub for research, teaching, service, outreach, and developing leaders. Current and former students at Texas A&M at Qatar are the most visible expression of the branch campus' success, proving themselves as Qatar's new generation of engineering leaders, while the branch campus' faculty are creating and disseminating new knowledge to solve relevant, real-world challenges in Qatar and the world. In everything it does, Texas A&M at Qatar seeks to be a valuable contributor to the State of Qatar as it moves toward the goals set out in Qatar National Vision 2030. Read our Annual Report and Engagement magazines below and share our successes and achievements of the past year. We look forward to many more years of success with our partners Qatar Foundation and Hamad bin Khalifa University. We appreciate your friendship and thank you for supporting Texas A&M at Qatar. As we enter our 14th year here in Education City, Texas A&M University at Qatar continues to experience emotional growth and development, bringing Texas A&M University's 140 years of engineering excellence to help educate the next generation of engineering leaders necessary to drive the State of Qatar toward its goal of being a knowledge-based economy. Our vision is simple: to be the premier provider of engineering education in the region, a significant contributor to knowledge internationally, and an essential resource to the State of Qatar. The famous father-son Mexican architect team Legoretta+Legoretta designed the Texas A&M Engineering Building. Construction of the building took one year and ten months to complete and cost USD 150 million. The Texas A&M Engineering Building is more than 55,000 sq. meters or 595,000 sq. feet. It consists of two distinct parts, research, and an academic wing. Please click the image to view the virtual tour. The main entrance to the Texas A&M Engineering Building features a solid bronze door. Metal Artwork in Saudi Arabia, a company famous for designing palace doors, produced the door. The door weighs 2.5 tons, and when the main entrance was being completed, the door had to be installed in one piece by forklift. The gigantic door reflects the greatness of what is happening inside. The student lounge is divided into two areas, one for male students and one for female students. Each room has a plasma TV with the latest in gaming technology. The student lounge's common area contains large tables for group study, as well as two foosball tables for when a quick break from studying is needed. Our Mission: Educate exemplary engineers and develop world-class leaders through internationally recognized undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Generate new knowledge and intellectual capital through innovative research and collaborative partnerships that yield sustainable impact. Advance the development goals of the State of Qatar and the region through expertise and engagement that expand human capital. View full university

Our Values: Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam" For the Greater Glory of God is the Society of Jesus's motto. This motto identifies the purpose of all endeavors. It is not merely doing good, but rather doing what will better or more effectively reveal God's active presence in our work and our world. Discerning what is better is always an essential principle of our decision-making. Academic Excellence - In 1547, the first Jesuits were invited to begin a college in Messina, Italy, to allow the young men to receive the same quality of education that the early Jesuits promoted in training their own. Georgetown University is a descendant of this original commitment to education. Academic excellence describes the great importance that we have placed on the mind's life as a means for uncovering truth and discovering meaning. Georgetown's emphasis on academic excellence is reflected in our faculty and students' careful selection, the quality of teaching, and the importance of research on campus. It has led to our recognition as one of the top 25 universities in the United States. Educating the Whole Person - St. Ignatius believed that God could be discovered in every human endeavor, in every facet of learning and experience, and every field of study. He promoted the development of each person's spiritual, intellectual, artistic, social, and physical aspects. Georgetown's commitment to educating the whole person is evident in our strong core curriculum, our wide array of academic programs, and our commitment to living and learning in spiritual communities. Faith and Justice - The Jesuits made a significant institutional commitment to "the service of faith and the promotion of justice," which obligates us to address the social realities of poverty, oppression, and injustice. While not all Georgetown community members would base their commitment to justice on religious principles, our institutional commitment to promote justice in the world grounds and inspires numerous University projects with the world's underserved communities. Interreligious Understanding - The Georgetown University community comprises a wide variety of religious traditions; we support various faith-based student groups, a variety of affiliated ministries, and numerous interreligious events and services. Also, the University sponsors the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding, the Program for Jewish Civilization, the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs, and the Catholic Studies Program. The community in Diversity - The Georgetown community welcomes and sustains rich diversity among our students, faculty, and staff. Approximately 52 percent of our student body are women, 22 percent of our undergraduate students are from a minority ethnic background, and over 2,000 students, faculty, and researchers come from 130 foreign countries. At Qatar's campus, the students comprise about 50 different nationalities from a diverse variety of faiths and cultural backgrounds. View full university
  24. Achieving and sustaining world-class excellence in every area of our teaching and research is at the heart of the University of Oxford's mission. The following pages provide an insight – from the perspective of students and graduates – into the experience of applying to the University of Oxford, studying at the University, and the opportunities available after graduating. Our students receive intensive education, including our distinctive tutorials, and are taught by academic leaders in their field. Colleges provide multidisciplinary communities within which students are supported and intellectually challenged and can meet people from all walks of life and many different countries. The University of Oxford aims to lead the world in research and education. We seek to do this in ways that benefit society on a national and a global scale. Throughout this Plan, we will build on the University's long traditions of independent scholarship and academic freedom while fostering a culture in which innovation plays an important role. The University of Oxford's distinctive structure, born of its history, is a source of strength. Its colleges offer supportive environments that are supportive of individual scholars and characterized by a defining and enduring sense of community. The personal sense of academic identity that they provide is life-long. To develop our capacity to generate and share knowledge in the UK, Europe, and globally, ensuring significant contributions to public policy-making and economic growth. To work effectively with other institutions and organizations, such partnerships can lead to outstanding research and teaching. To fulfill the aims, no potential student should be deterred from applying to Oxford by financial or other barriers, and that financial difficulties should hamper no student's success. To recruit and retain the best academic staff and ensure that under-represented groups have equality of opportunity in recruitment, personal development, and career progression in all employment areas in the University. We will monitor progress against our priorities, commitments, and aims using relevant performance indicators, benchmarks, and targets. Through this, we will maintain focus on the Strategic Plan, ensuring that it continues to meet academic needs, enables us to respond to the external environment, and is updated as appropriate. The University of Oxford is active worldwide across the broadest range of disciplines. With Oxford University Press, our global involvement in education from the pre-school level onwards puts us in a unique position to influence and engage with the world. This global reach in itself draws students and staff of the highest international caliber to the University, taking Oxford's way of engaging with the world with them when they depart. We will seek opportunities to coordinate the University's activities more effectively, and we will build upon Oxford's excellence in, and commitment to, the delivery of education for all. A marvelous university conveys the knowledge created by its community and is open to new ideas generated elsewhere. We will maintain the freedom for individuals and research groups to decide what to research while clarifying where and how to access Oxford expertise. We will seek to develop external collaborations, noting that these may be most effective in those areas where research and teaching strengths are complimentary while supporting connections between research groups at the level of individual projects. The University's extensive network of libraries and museums offers unique opportunities to learn and engage with resources. We will continue to enhance our collections to the benefit of future generations. Access to the University's collections will be improved through programmatic digitization, extending the appreciation of Oxford's role in preserving and sharing the record of human existence and cultural achievement. Access to our museums, galleries, and scientific collections contributes significantly to our public engagement on regional, national and global scales, and we will continue to promote this through programs of events and exhibitions and by fully exploiting the opportunities offered by the web, social media, and other innovative modes of transmission. We will keep under review our undergraduate and graduate admissions processes to ensure equal treatment for all applicants and the effectiveness and consistency of good practice. These reviews will encompass policy on attracting and identifying the best home and international students and policy on continuing education and part-time students' admission. We will seek to ensure that teaching and assessment at Oxford provide an equal opportunity for all students to achieve and demonstrate their full academic potential. To inform this work, we will monitor the academic progress and outcomes amongst students from different backgrounds. We are committed to providing professional development training of the highest quality through Master's and other programs in identified areas and critical professions. We will also explicitly identify the professional and employability skills inherent in our courses, develop further opportunities for funded internships, and encourage students to engage with wider communities while still at Oxford. Strengthening Oxford's global and digital online presence, as signaled in our new priorities, will ensure students studying at Oxford have improved access to materials. We will develop a digital education strategy that builds on our online learning expertise to communicate knowledge created within the University. This will benefit all students, whether studying full-time, part-time, or through the flexible courses offered by the Department for Continuing Education, as well as staff, alumni, and broader society.
