- The Blida University Centre (CUB) was established by Decree No. 77-92 on 20 June 1977. Implanted on a retroceded site, dating from 1864, the CUB has also benefited from a program of development and extension of educational infrastructures (amphitheater, laboratory, etc ...). It was not until September 8, 1981, that the CUB opened its doors to the students of the wilayates of Blida, Media, Chlef, Djelfa, and in the South of the country. As part of this historic re-entry, the number of students enrolled was 526, with a teaching staff of 57, including 17 foreign students. The University of Blida has developed rapidly and could be divided into three main phases corresponding essentially to The different stages of structuring and management First stage: During the first three years of its existence, the Center Universitario de Blida is located in the middle of the city and has provided teaching in only four streams: Common Technology Trunk, Architecture, Agronomy, and Medical Sciences. Second step: In 1984-1985, when the university card was applied, the CUB broke up in the National Institute of Higher Education. Decree No. 83-543 of 24 September 1983, in its articles 2 and 4, chapter I, provides: "The National Institute of Higher Education, hereinafter referred to as" the institute is a public institution of an administrative nature, Endowed with legal personality and financial autonomy. "The Institute's objectives, within the framework of the National Plan for Economic and Social Development, are to provide courses in graduation and post-graduation, Contribute to the development of scientific and technical research, Undertake any development and retraining in its field of activity, Ensure publication of studies and research results. With the application of the university card devoting the National Institute of Higher Education, Blida is found with six structures: Institute of Mechanics, Institute of Architecture, Institute of Electronics, Institute of Agronomy, Institute of Industrial Chemistry, and Institute of Aeronautics. The cumulative number of students enrolled about the academic year 1981- 1982 experienced a growth noticed since they have been multiplied by 10 times. The structure of the distribution by sector group shows a trend towards a reinforcement of the technology concerning the other training courses, there is a relative stabilization (competition conditions of access, etc. Evolution of the pedagogical framework The appeal to foreign teachers as a supplement to student supervision has been considerably reduced since the establishment of the Blida University Center in 1981, as shown in the table below. Co-operation in the field of education is directed mainly by the sending of high-level grades, among others, professors, lecturers, etc., concerning the succession of the grades of assistant teachers, it will be completely completed, Of post-graduation. The rate of Algerianization is 96 %. Third step: The University Complex of Blida was set up as a University in August 1989. A seventh Institute opens its doors. These are The Institute of Medical Sciences. The opening of several other departments allows the University to modify its decree of creation in 1992/1993. Four other Institutes strengthen the structures of the young university: Institute of Veterinary Sciences, Institute of Exact Sciences, Institute of Juridical and Administrative Sciences, Institute of Economic Sciences, Decree 95/204 of 5 August 1995 brings the number of Institutes to twelve. Fourth step: By Executive Decree No. 98-253 of 17 August 1998, the University of Blida consists of seven faculties: Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics and Management, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Faculty of Agronomic and Veterinary Sciences. - "The process of learning and achievement of excellence is a legacy of our glorious past. The chronicles of history bear witness to the fact that our predecessors pioneered and made gigantic leaps in various branches of sciences. We, therefore, are custodians of a trust vested in us. The turn of events and transgression from the destined path have tilted the scales against us. At this point, vision with unflinching faith in our cause should be the guiding principle to turn the wheel and arrest further degradation of our potentials. A big task lies ahead to revive and restore the ascendancy of our predecessors to its rightful place in today's modern world. Let us join hands to carry this noble mission to a conclusive end under the banner of the University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore." To generate knowledge for global competitive advantage and become a leading world-class research University. To play a leading role as a University of Engineering and Technology in teaching, research, innovation, and commercialization that is internationally relevant and has a direct bearing on national industrial, technological and socio-economic development. The university aspires to be the regional leader and wishes to improve its ranking from the top 300 Engineering Universities of the world to the top 100 universities of the world. The University of Engineering and Technology (main) is located in the northern part of Lahore on the historical "Grand Trunk Road (G.T. Road)", near the magnificent Shalimar Gardens built during the great Mughal Empire. The institution started its career in 1921 as the ‘ Mughalpura Technical College ’. Later it became the ‘Maclagan Engineering College’, a name given to it in 1923 when Sir Edwards Maclagan, the then Governor of Punjab who laid the foundation stone of the main building, now called the Main Block, which still retains its majesty despite the wear and tear of over eight decades. At that stage, the institution offered courses of study in only two disciplines Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. In the year 1932, the institution was affiliated with the University of Punjab for the award of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. In 1947, at the time of independence, the Institution was offering a well-established B.Sc. Degree Courses in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering. In 1954 it started a Bachelor's Degree course in Mining Engineering, the first-ever of its kind in the country. However, the real expansion and development of the institution commenced in 1962 on its transformation into the ‘West Pakistan University of Engineering & Technology, and within a few years Bachelor's Degree Courses were started in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum & Gas Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Architecture, and City & Regional Planning. Later, the University started to develop its postgraduate programs, and by the 1970's it was offering Master's Degree Courses in various specializations of engineering, architecture, planning, and allied disciplines. Later, Ph.D. Degree Program was also instituted in several disciplines. Later on, renamed the University of Engineering & Technology in 1972. With a phenomenal increase in student enrollment in the seventies, the University established an Engineering College at Taxila in 1975, which later became an independent University in 1998 as the University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. Keeping in view the upcoming power crises situation in the country, in 2004 the University established its Power Generation Unit with a capacity of 2 Mega Watts later enhanced to 3 Mega Watts, and became the first and only countrywide educational institution that has its Power Generation Unit. To meet the growing demands for Engineering graduates and allied disciplines in the country, the University started an expansion program in the new millennium. Consequently, the teaching and research capacity of the UET-Main was enhanced and the establishment of the satellite campuses was taken up. At present, the University has three satellite campuses the Faisalabad Campus, the Kala-Shah-Kaku Campus, and the Rachna College. View full university

- A University Technical College is a type of secondary school for 14–19 year-olds led by a university sponsor and co-sponsored by leading industries. We are well on track to achieve excellent academic results in our GCSE, A level, and BTEC courses. These high-quality technical courses related to our engineering specialism, alongside the traditional subjects required at Key Stage 4, are underpinned by a guiding vision to promote students’ employability so that they can embrace the opportunities presented by the future economy and thrive in a competitive, professional environment. Our facilities are host to industry-standard equipment for hands-on learning. Phase 1 of our building on Brixton Hill is now complete, with advanced engineering workshops supplemented by the laboratory, computing, and personalized learning spaces designed specifically for the STEM curriculum. Our workshops are the envy of many universities, let alone schools, with 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machinery, robotics, and virtual reality all extensively used in our day-to-day learning. Our specialisms in engineering link to the proud heritage in London. Engineering is much more than building things: it is creative, practical, and aims to make the world a better place for future generations. We focus on allowing our students to apply their imagination, ideas, and creativity in their learning in an engineering context, not forgetting to develop their transferable ‘soft skills including teamwork, leadership, and communication skills. As a specialist comprehensive academy, we are non-selective, charge no fees, open to students aged 14-19 (with cohorts entering in either Year 10 or Year 12), and are inspected by Ofsted. Given our very specialist, innovative way of working, students who choose to study with us have pathways into university but may also choose to pursue higher-level apprenticeships or aim for employment. Our students are exceptionally motivated young people with a thirst to be creative and to work in an academic, technical environment. They are given support to become effective self-managers and team players, and they are in tune with our business-like way of working, with a professional working day, little homework, and business dress rather than a traditional uniform. We offer opportunities far beyond those in a traditional school. Students will work with world-class sponsors in an innovative specialist curriculum and learning environment to develop outstanding knowledge and skills. Students experience new ways of learning focused on technical projects and experiences enriching their taught curriculum that allows all their learning to be contextualized in the real world. These experiences are led by the UTC’s university and industry partners and are strongly linked to skills demands in the economy: students are developing the skills and expertise in demand. As a result, with high academic standards and strong technical and employability skills, graduates of the UTC will be highly sought after by companies for employment or apprenticeships and will be well prepared for higher education and lifelong learning. UTC students will stand out as being among the country’s best engineers with the knowledge and skills to enhance future industrial practice. This will help to address engineering skills gaps, particularly within the building and health sectors. We will help create the next generation of engineers and scientists who will work on exciting industry-led projects, developing innovative new products and processes that will influence the way we live in the future. As a brand new school, we are free from some of the shackles of ‘traditional thinking’ and established routines. We can innovate with the use of technology, for example, breaking down barriers to when, where, and how learning takes place. As a fully inclusive school, we welcome and support the diversity of talent who is keen to join us. We place considerable resources were required so that all students, regardless of background, make strong progress and achieve their desired pathways post-UTC. South Bank Engineering UTC will be respected for its professionalism, diversity, aspiration, and team working. South Bank Engineering UTC sets itself high standards of performance and achievement, punctuality, and conduct that reflect expectations and standards in the best of workplaces. Our values incorporate ‘professionalism’ in all its many meanings, including embracing and celebrating diversity and supporting the development of British Values in all our students. View full school
