  1. There is nothing passive or conventional about life at SNC. Our status as Nevada's only accredited, private, four-year institution, and our location high in the Sierra, on the shores of legendary Lake Tahoe, all but guarantee that. Action is in our DNA. Everything we do is dedicated to moving lives and learning forward to engaging students and helping them become confident, collaborative critical thinkers who are uniquely prepared to thrive in the real world. Four core themes define us: Entrepreneurial Thinking, Professional Preparedness, Liberal Arts, and Sustainability. And we bring these themes to life for every student through active learning processes that foster problem solving, teamwork, and innovation. It is a competition culture where students learn to think on their feet, communicate persuasively, and become active participants in their education. Our mission statement was created through a collaboration of campus leadership and faculty to guide and inform the values and goals of our College. Our education is a collaborative partnership between you, your teachers, and the College as a whole. Real learning comes when you are fully engaged in your education – not passively sitting in a lecture hall taking notes for the next exam. At SNC Tahoe, we spend an enormous amount of time thinking about making learning come alive for each of you and thoroughly preparing you for the lifetime of opportunities and challenges you will have after leaving here. We will walk you and your family carefully step-by-step through the process to get the most available funding you are eligible for. Contact our office to get started — we are here to help. Financial aid is any source of funds available to help students pay for their college education. Our mission statement was created through a collaboration of campus leadership and faculty to guide and inform the values and goals of our College. Our education is a collaborative partnership between you, your teachers, and the College as a whole.
