About Me

  1. The history of the specialties taught at TTK University of Applied Sciences dates back to the 1920s. The first predecessor of the university was Tallinn Commercial School for Boys, founded in 1915. TTK UAS celebrated its anniversary on the 9th of November when the Tallinn City Government agreed upon founding it. TTK UAS has had many different names over the years, but there have always been two core specialties: construction and mechanical engineering. In 1929 – 1944, the departments of Tallinn Technical School included mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, construction engineering, geodesy, and cultural technologies. The most well known of TTK UAS´ predecessors is Tallinn Technical School for Building and Mechanics (1961 – 1992, TEMT in Estonian). During 1992 – 1998, the school started transferring its curricula from vocational secondary education to the level of applied higher education. In 1999, the university was recognized by the state as a university of applied sciences and named Tallinn College of Engineering. In 2006. Tallinn Light Garment Technology School joined the Tallinn College of Engineering, and a new structural unit, The Faculty of Clothing and Textile, was formed. In 2012, the university was named TTK University of Applied Sciences. The highest collegial decision-making body of TTK University of Applied Sciences is the TTK UAS Council, consisting of Vice-Rectors, lecturers, professors, and student representatives of TTK University of Applied Sciences. Two advisory bodies operate next to the TTK UAS Council: the Advisory Board, consisting of representatives of companies, professional unions, the government sector, and the Board of Professors, consisting of TTK UAS professors. The closest advisory body to the rector is the Rectorate. The primary decision-making body is the TTK UAS Management Board, consisting of Vice-Rectors, Deans, heads of structural units, and student representatives. The Student Council is an organization representing the students of TTK UAS. Student Council is an institution creating opportunities and improving school life. TTK Student Council is responsible for creating an excellent and supportive learning and socializing environment for all TTK students. Student Council is the voice of students outside TTK UAS, the carrier of student spirit, and the student life coordinator. TTK offers its students several possibilities to participate in student life. The Student Council represents the students´ voice in decision-making processes and organizes various student events. TTK Chamber Choir unites those fond of music, and those who like dancing may join the Folk Dance Group Savijalakesed (Feet of Clay). Those interested in scientific research during studies are welcome to join HEUREKA, the students´ scientific union. The students of Construction Faculty have founded a student corporation ERICIUS, open to active students of civil engineering, construction geodesy, and road construction. A research group (also sometimes called a research center) is a group of researchers from the same faculty working together on a particular issue or topic. Research groups may be composed of researchers from the same academic unit/subject or different subjects within an institute. Our world-leading research tackles difficult real-world problems that often have a high impact on the industry, commerce, and the public. At the TTK University of Applied Sciences, we also encourage our research groups to collaborate across disciplines to make the most of our excellent knowledge base of expertise. In this way, we hope to stretch boundaries, challenge traditional ways of thinking, and innovate towards finding new solutions to problems. TTK University of Applied Sciences is an educational and research institution that is open to cooperation with enterprises. In addition to teaching, the university carries out various applied research projects through its six institutes. The primary role of the Entrepreneurship Centre of TTK University of Applied Sciences is to promote cooperation between the private and public sectors and the university. We consider the inclusion of students in research and experiments essential, as it enriches the study process and improves the quality of studies. View full university
  2. A University Technical College is a type of secondary school for 14–19 year-olds led by a university sponsor and co-sponsored by leading industries. We are well on track to achieve excellent academic results in our GCSE, A level, and BTEC courses. These high-quality technical courses related to our engineering specialism, alongside the traditional subjects required at Key Stage 4, are underpinned by a guiding vision to promote students’ employability so that they can embrace the opportunities presented by the future economy and thrive in a competitive, professional environment. Our facilities are host to industry-standard equipment for hands-on learning. Phase 1 of our building on Brixton Hill is now complete, with advanced engineering workshops supplemented by the laboratory, computing, and personalized learning spaces designed specifically for the STEM curriculum. Our workshops are the envy of many universities, let alone schools, with 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machinery, robotics, and virtual reality all extensively used in our day-to-day learning. Our specialisms in engineering link to the proud heritage in London. Engineering is much more than building things: it is creative, practical, and aims to make the world a better place for future generations. We focus on allowing our students to apply their imagination, ideas, and creativity in their learning in an engineering context, not forgetting to develop their transferable ‘soft skills including teamwork, leadership, and communication skills. As a specialist comprehensive academy, we are non-selective, charge no fees, open to students aged 14-19 (with cohorts entering in either Year 10 or Year 12), and are inspected by Ofsted. Given our very specialist, innovative way of working, students who choose to study with us have pathways into university but may also choose to pursue higher-level apprenticeships or aim for employment. Our students are exceptionally motivated young people with a thirst to be creative and to work in an academic, technical environment. They are given support to become effective self-managers and team players, and they are in tune with our business-like way of working, with a professional working day, little homework, and business dress rather than a traditional uniform. We offer opportunities far beyond those in a traditional school. Students will work with world-class sponsors in an innovative specialist curriculum and learning environment to develop outstanding knowledge and skills. Students experience new ways of learning focused on technical projects and experiences enriching their taught curriculum that allows all their learning to be contextualized in the real world. These experiences are led by the UTC’s university and industry partners and are strongly linked to skills demands in the economy: students are developing the skills and expertise in demand. As a result, with high academic standards and strong technical and employability skills, graduates of the UTC will be highly sought after by companies for employment or apprenticeships and will be well prepared for higher education and lifelong learning. This is particularly important as the economy changes quickly over time, shaped by new opportunities and the technical and political landscape. Our ethos is the promotion of every learner’s personal and future professional development. Every student who graduates from the UTC will be confident and well prepared to enter the world of work directly or via higher education or an apprenticeship. UTC students will stand out as being among the country’s best engineers with the knowledge and skills to enhance future industrial practice. This will help to address engineering skills gaps, particularly within the building and health sectors. We will help create the next generation of engineers and scientists who will work on exciting industry-led projects, developing innovative new products and processes that will influence the way we live in the future. As a brand new school, we are free from some of the shackles of ‘traditional thinking’ and established routines. We can innovate with the use of technology, for example, breaking down barriers to when, where, and how learning takes place. As a fully inclusive school, we welcome and support the diversity of talent who is keen to join us. We place considerable resources were required so that all students, regardless of background, make strong progress and achieve their desired pathways post-UTC. South Bank Engineering UTC will be respected for its professionalism, diversity, aspiration, and team working. South Bank Engineering UTC sets itself high standards of performance and achievement, punctuality, and conduct that reflect expectations and standards in the best of workplaces. Our values incorporate ‘professionalism’ in all its many meanings, including embracing and celebrating diversity and supporting the development of British Values in all our students.

  5. Sinai University was established refereeing to the presidential decree number 363 for the year 2005 in accordance to provisions of law number 101 the year 1992 regarding the private Universities, which was replaced by law number 12 the year 2009 regarding the private and civil Universities and its executive regulations issued by the presidential decree number 302 for the year 2010. The significance of establishing a university, including research centers, especially in the North of Sinai, is not only due to the lack of such universities in this area but also to the particular importance of having a world-class education to support the economic development of the region and to tie the Egyptian economy to the changes and transformation of the international economic system in the 21st century. Specialized high institutes are also needed; hence many countries tended to set up more universities, academies, institutes, and cities. The idea is to increase the flexibility in different economic sectors by securing a base of specialists who constitute the real starting point for economic growth. This fact does not negate the risk of establishing this University in Sinai, which represents a real challenge for national participation in this region's development. The University aspires to be one of the pioneering Universities from local, regional, and international perspectives, introducing educational and research specific services for the local and regional community. We intend to provide our students with the best education practical experience from beginning to end, with smart, sophisticated equipment to deliver glowing, well-educated graduates. Sinai University has two campuses; our main campus is in El Kantara East town in Ismalia Govern ate the other is in Al-Arish inside Sama Village and the beautiful, bizarre sea view, the capital of North Sinai. Hence our students will have time for learning and education and will lead a life surrounded by a charming nature. They will be self-independent in formulating their personality. They will actively participate in all academic and recreational facilities, including faculty academic buildings, students' hostels, central library, gymnasium, coffee shops, swimming pools, and horseback riding. Being involved in extracurricular activities can be a valuable addition to your academic achievements. SU has many student clubs and committees, making your university experience balanced, exciting, and rewarding. There are no limits to our ambitions, and our goal is to make SU an open invitation to peace and a center for academic excellence hence leading a massive developmental movement to Sinai and effectively achieving our National Project's goal to relocate three million Egyptians into a whole new dawn of civilization in Sinai by the year 2017. Sinai University shall fulfill its role in achieving balance to the other side of the equation. The human factor- building the type of graduate that opens up to the latest scientific trends yet maintains their roots and traditions. Sinai's treasures of raw material and vast fertile land- combined with its geographical ingenuity as a global trading center in the Middle East's heart and overlooking the Mediterranean and the Suez Canal lure numerous scientists to attempt to create a tremendous industrial and agricultural revolution. Sinai has witnessed, since the dawn of history, only the wheels of wars and the weapons of destruction is in dire need of a development engine to contribute to reformulating and restructuring life upon this virgin land. With its own distinguished and specialized nature, Sinai University has emerged that made it different in its perception and profile from the traditional academic concepts and policies. Universities have a critical and essential role in national history. California State knew the development path only through a university. Alborg University was the seed for an evolution that enabled such a small spot in the far south of Denmark to be one of those big industrial cities among developed countries. Our primary goal is to provide a high-caliber technical workforce for the future. Our programs offer a balance of practical skills, solid theory, and computer technology, which will allow you to obtain new knowledge and skills when pursuing your career. It is an essential goal of our programs to help you become independent learners. By the time you take your graduation project in the fifth year, you will be expected to manage your time and use all the knowledge you acquired in previous years. In addition to our departments, we have several social and sport extracurricular activities. Our students receive advising support from the faculty members and through the Academic Advising Programs supported by the university administration and guided by the unifying principles of learning, discovery, and community needs. Egypt is a traditional leader in the Middle East in the field of higher medical education. In recent years, and due to the admission of increasingly large numbers in the governmental universities, Egypt’s leading status was seriously threatened. Some primary and decisive factors in the proper teaching and training of the undergraduates in the medical field are the efficient knowledge deliverance and the close interaction between the student and the teacher. Physical therapy is a vital form of professional patient care that can be applied in most medical disciplines. It is the newest and yet the oldest field of medical practice. It is the newest because it has come to be recognized as an integral part of regular medical care in the past seventy years. However, it is the oldest because physical agents have been used in the treatment of diseases or injuries for thousands of years. The goal of the College of Physical Therapy is to provide the society with therapists who are adequately prepared by a carefully-planned educational program to serve, today and in the future in such capacities, as providers care for patients suffering from temporary or permanent disabilities resulting from musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, neurological, gynecological and pediatric disorders. The College of Engineering was established in1996 to serve Egypt, the Arab countries, and the region by preparing the graduates to carry out their responsibilities, considering our heritage in an industrialized world with a significant number of challenging problems. The college of engineering is working hard to develop professional engineers who can responsibly lead the economic development towards society and the environment. Hence, an engineering graduate is well suited to help in achieving his country’s goals. Our engineering graduates are also suited to work in cross-cultural environments, as many international companies have a presence in Egypt and the region. The Faculty of Foreign Languages and Translation has nine academic departments: English Department, French Department, German Department, Italian Department, Spanish Department, Turkish Department, Chinese Department, Japanese Department, and Arabic Department. The English Department has recently inaugurated a Graduate Studies Programme in literature, linguistics, and translation. Each department is equipped with staff members who have vast expertise in teaching and the practical field of translation. The faculty departments endorse the promise that to learn another language is to step into another world. Moreover, the faculty departments advocate inclusive and interdisciplinary scholarships that develop innovative models for the study and assimilation of languages and literature. College of Applied Medical Sciences seeks excellence through educational programs that reflect recent trends in allied health sciences and contribute to the continuing development of the allied health profession by placing the student at the center of attention, where the student could be an influential and effective participant in the educational process, able to self-learning, having self-esteem, thinking critically, competent in providing high-quality health care, and contribute with their knowledge and scientific research in the service activities of the environment and the community. The Department of Ancient Egyptian Antiquities aims to prepare specialists in the field of ancient Egyptian archeology capable of exploring and accompanying Egyptian and foreign missions with knowledge of Egyptology and its various branches and modern techniques in museum presentation, archaeological excavations, use of modern technologies and knowledge of scientific development in the field of Egyptology. EME heavily integrates sustainable development into all its activities. Professors, staff, and students are invested in the school's Agenda 21 policy, which sets the example of sustainable development and social responsibility. Many events are organized at EME each year to spread awareness of sustainable development to the public, enterprises, etc. EME research projects, conferences, workshops, and technical sessions are regularly presented in the school. Students at EME are always engaged in solving environmental issues through student associations such as Afrik'Action, Eco-Challenge, or InterSolidaires. EME students strive to meet the goals of Agenda 21. They are in charge of meaningful projects like the Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development project completed in June 2012, and COP TROTTERS in 2016. EME students can help develop a greener and more socially responsible economy by completing an internship with one of EME's partner companies. Students also can do one or two academic semesters abroad with one of our 59 partner schools throughout Europe. Students can clearly understand environmental issues at the international level, and better develop their language skills through programs abroad. The BDE is the leading student association at EME. The BDE organizes the majority of the social gatherings on campus every year. Its mission is to help all EME students have a great time and take a break from the pressures of college life. Whether it is orientation weekend (WEI), BBQs, the Gala, or costume parties, the BDE is working to keep students entertained! The BDE guarantees an unforgettable orientation weekend called the WEI. This is an opportunity to get new students acquainted with all the other EME students in a festive and friendly atmosphere. The WEI always takes place somewhere in Brittany's region so that new students can discover a part of their new region! Gala is another major event of the year. It is a party held right after the graduation ceremony. This is an opportunity to dress to impress. Another role of the BDE is to drive other school associations: BDA, BDJ, BDS, K'fet, Eco challenge, Intersolidaire, Afrik'Action, and ADEK. Throughout the year, the BDE organizes games and events to help EME students get to know each other and students of other engineering schools in Rennes. The BDE is part of BREI (Regional Office of Engineering Schools), another opportunity to meet more new students. Humanit'EME is a humanitarian association. We have developed three essential goals: education, exploration of African culture, and fundraising for Togo education. We operate in a partnership with a Togolese association, The Youth Movement for Sustainable Development. To promote awareness of our cause and African culture, we organize outings to restaurants and have themed meals. Also, African music concerts and a day of conferences on Africa are organized each year. We frequently meet with students of a primary school in Bruz to share Africa's culture through stories and activities. We hope the students will one day use this knowledge to help our cause. If you want to explore your artistic side, share your talent, and participate in fun activities, the Bureau des Arts are for you! The BDA sets up cinema and theatre outings, dance and music lessons, short film contests, decorating the school for events, and creating displays about international opportunities. So do not hesitate. The BDA has something for everyone! The BDS role is to facilitate access to sporting activities, organize events, and get you up and to move! For example, this year you can go for a weeklong ski trip with us! But what if you are not an athlete and still want to be active? Let us say you have a particular fondness for water; you can join our FFSU (French Organized Sports Association) licensed swimming club. We have groups in individual sports such as judo, karate, and taekwondo. We also have team sports such as handball, football, basketball, hockey, volleyball, bowling, rowing, tennis, golf, and rugby (men and women), which are all available for you to join! There are activities for athletes and non-athletes, but we are all here to have a good time at heart. You will have the opportunity to meet us during the WEI orientation week, the Ker Lann Olympics, and the "green" marathon. View full university

We believe in structuration through education, in talent through work, in wonderment through discovery, in fulfillment through encounters, and in intelligence through reflection on life experiences. PURPAN has forged its reputation for excellence with enterprises through its engineers' workable to put into action the search for performance and quality, aptitude to change, respect of others, solidarity, honesty, and humanity. Today, almost 500 PURPAN graduates are working in over 300 professions, both in France and abroad. PURPAN, founded in 1919 by Jesuit farmers and teachers, educates non-specialized engineers through a 5-year post-baccalauréat course Through success-oriented teaching methods with Ignatian origins: the importance of experimentation, analysis, support and revision, PURPAN's ambition is to foster the development of men and women endowed with a great capacity for action and adaptation, integrating personal commitment, solidarity, a sense of action and a passion for service. Over 300 professions are open to our students in the following sectors: life sciences, agriculture, the food-processing industry, marketing, and management... PURPAN's mission (recognized by the Rocard Law of 1984) is to provide a public service in training, research, international cooperation, and technology transfer. The Agriculture, Food Processing and Forestry Ministry and National Committee of Engineering Degrees have joint responsibility for issuing engineering degrees from the PURPAN Engineering School. Located in the heart of Toulouse, in a fantastic leafy setting, the PURPAN awards degrees to 180 engineers every year. Learning responsibilities and commitment to others are the key aspects of civic education. PURAN supports and promotes activities launched by the students who adhere to our advocated values. Encouraging student sports, societies, and clubs are in line with our strategy. It runs the specific facilities (student residence, sports equipment, etc.) and clubs (photos, music, theatre, hiking, cinema, etc.). It holds weekly meetings with the School Director to develop the quality of life on campus. 50% of PURPAN students are members of university sports teams or clubs. Many international sportsmen and women (rugby, equestrian, etc.) have trained at PURPAN in a specially tailored course (e.g., Yannick Jauzion, international rugby player). PURPAN is one of the rare Schools which organizes, together with the students, on-site parties and events where everyone learns to combine joie de vivre, partying, and self-control. Our site has been organized to be able to house cars and bicycles. Various car-sharing solutions are set up among the students. In this context, our team strives to make our organization as open as possible. Fostering the emergence of cross-sectional teams, triggering creativity, and managing each project are our main action areas. We can thus experience what our students will discover later in their companies. PURPAN offers every kind of further education course and Bachelor's and Master's degrees and PhDs. Students gain real professional life experience during internships (15 to 18 months during engineer training) and numerous simulations of work situations (project-based teaching). The following can be found at the heart of our teaching: mastering analysis, calculation, modeling and simulation tools, and implementing a scientific approach. To gain self-confidence, discover other cultures and environments, prepare to work in a multi-cultural world, and master foreign languages. Guiding young people to master all the complexity calls for rigor to acquire a range of technical, economic, sociological, and legal disciplines. View full university

  21. As a public institution under the French Ministry of Agriculture's authority, Bordeaux Sciences Agro collaborates with other similar institutions in France and abroad through a network of higher agronomic institutes, notably in the framework of joint courses. For 50 years, Bordeaux Sciences Agro has been able to forge privileged relationships with companies. These ties supplement our institution's courses by helping increase the professionalism of the subjects taught and by fostering the graduates' professional futures by ensuring that the courses are suited to the real world. Bordeaux Sciences Agro is a public higher education institute and agronomic research facility under the French Ministry of Agriculture, Agrifood and Forestry. Founded in 1962, it trains 600 students every year who follow Agronomy degree courses in their initial education as students or apprentices, or one of the six Master's degrees co-accredited by universities in Bordeaux or by national partners, and in the specialized Master's degree accredited by the 'Conférence des Grandes Ecoles.' The establishment was created under the name of 'ENITA de Bordeaux.' A higher education establishment offered intermediary 3-year Agronomy degrees after a specific preparatory course dispensed in agricultural secondary schools. It did not have a research vocation. This is a plus for the estate, which benefits from being in the school's cutting-edge scientific environment. In particular, Bordeaux Sciences Agro aims to make this urban vineyard into a showcase for best practices in economically efficient and environmentally friendly wine growing. The entire Bordeaux Sciences Agro scientific community contributes to the 'Luchey Agro-ecologic Project.' Fifty years after it was founded, ENITA de Bordeaux changed its name to become 'Bordeaux Sciences Agro.' This name change was part of a progressive coming together of national engineering trades schools (ENITs) and the former national higher agronomy schools (ENSAs). The separation between these two groups of schools had progressively been narrowing since the 1990s with creating a common competitive exam for schools of agronomy and the creation of a single body of professors and researchers. A new position, new impetus, and new brand name! Opening of international courses with the Creation of the Master of Business and Sciences in Vineyard and Winery Management. The Schools of Engineering's International Masters degree is taught entirely in English and is a response to Bordeaux Sciences Agro's strategic decision to increase its international appeal in one of the fields of excellence for which the Bordeaux site is a global reference. This MBS aims to offer original courses in response to demand from the wine sector for wine estate managers abroad, against a backdrop of the strong global growth of the sector with the arrival on the wine market of new countries with very high potential in production, consumption, and investment (China, India, Russia, etc.). The plans to create the 'school forest' on the Agreaux estate are being conducted jointly by the Jacques and Françoise Lescouzères Foundation, under the aegis of the Institut de France, and by Bordeaux Sciences Agro in partnership with the members of the Training Platform. This concept corresponds to a model that is currently on the rise internationally. It consists of providing teaching and research projects in real-life conditions on a forest estate. Bordeaux Sciences Agro works with 40 permanent teaching staff, including 15 professors, experts in several domains: Agronomy, Animal Sciences, Biology, Economics, Ecology, Botanical Sciences, Viticulture, Oenology, Forestry, Processing Engineering, Environment Engineering, Management. Professors carry out academic teaching missions as well as research and knowledge transfer activities. Each professor is a member of one of the 14 Joint Research Units and belongs to one of the six Research & Academic Training Departments. You will complete your enrolment at the 'Direction des Etudes' office (the Department of Academic Studies) when you arrive. You will then be provided with your student ID card, enrolment certificate, and internet access codes. When you arrive at the University, you will receive your Aquipass card. This is your student passport. It is your source of ID and will allow you to use the many services on offer: checking out books at the library, eating at the university restaurants, etc. The electronic card system also allows you to make individual purchases. Our office is full of essential information on campus life, Lille, and France in general. We look forward to providing services, resources, and programs that will enhance your experience at the ENSCL and during your stay. We invite you to make the International Office your "home away from home" and hope that you will drop by often for advice, information, and social events. Students gradually learn about future professions through economic sciences and management, conferences, and plant visits. They complete an engineering project at the end of their studies, most often in an industrial setting. During the first year (semesters S5-S6), students consolidate their fundamental knowledge in the essential practices of chemistry, physical chemistry, kinetics, thermodynamics, analytical chemistry, and inorganic and organic chemistry. The second-year (semesters S7-S8) focuses on the applied aspects of chemistry: organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, solid-state chemistry, materials science, and chemical engineering. Practicals, some of which are genuine mini-projects, allow students to familiarise themselves with the "scientific method" and learn to take the initiative. For semester S8, Students choose one of the following three fields of study: "Biomass", "Chemical specialties and formulation," or "Materials science". A third-year abroad is not only offered but encouraged. In this regard, ENSCL has established many relationships with institutions in the European Union (LEONARDO programs) and the rest of the world. International students are also much appreciated within the engineering program (see international students). Physical education is obligatory in the first year of the engineering program. To this end, we offer, with the help of an extensive Physical and Sporting Activities University Service (SUAPS), the means to participate in several physical activities, such as soccer, rugby, basketball, volleyball, handball, field hockey, track and field, cross-country, tennis and many more. The Sports Office (BDS), run by students for students, is another tool that is used to promote sports within our structure for any level of play. The purpose of this association, comprised of second-year students, is to represent its members, improve students' working conditions, organize leisure activities for the entire school, prepare an annual school gala, participate in student events and establish close ties to the administration, the students and the alumni. This association was created in 1983 and is governed legally by the 1st of July 1901 as a non-profit association. The program leads to an engineering degree and can lead to a Master's degree. ENSCL offers an International Undergraduate Programme (CHEMISTRY INTERNATIONAL STUDIES), allowing both French and international students with science A-levels to enter one of the 19 Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Schools in the Gay-Lussac Federation (FGL) without sitting the entry exam. The selection of a candidate is based on a thorough review of their application. The program lasts two years (semesters S1-S4). The courses are taught in Lille, Rennes, or Clermont-Ferrand. This preparatory program has been designed to host students having completed their secondary schooling within the last year, issued from France or abroad. View full university
