About Me

  1. Founded in 1926, Cours Molière is a bilingual, independent private school, recognized by the Rectorat (French public administration). The school was created by teachers who wanted a different, more challenging kind of school where teachers are closer to their students. So far, 17,000 students have attended Cours Molière. Our small classes (15 to 20 students per class) are comprised of students ranging from nursery students (beginning at 2 years old) to the classes of Terminales S, ES, L, and other preparatory classes for university (18 years old). Discipline and respect Encouragement of good work Passing on important knowledge and fundamental competences A monthly Honor Roll rewarding students’ effort Teaching follows the official programs and requirements of the “Education Nationale” and often goes beyond that high standard. Professors are uniquely qualified and held accountable for the success of their students. Numerous cultural outings to museums, theaters, universities, etc. are organized to benefit and capture the interest of students. From 2 and half years old to Baccalaureate: Cours Molière offers a dynamic bilingual secondary (middle) and high school cycle. In secondary school (Collège), 2 options are offered A classic cycle in 4 years, An accelerated cycle in just 3 years, During the 3rd year, all the pupils follow the 1st year of High School programs, In high school (Lycée), 2 options for the Baccalaureate French Baccalaureate and/or High School Diploma (American Baccalaureate). Results: 100% success and integration in the best institutions in France and abroad (Saint-Jean de Passy, IBE, Saint-Michel de Picpus, French High Schools in New York). Created by teachers who wanted a school closer to its students, also more demanding, Cours Molière offers an ambitious education from kindergarten to high school. Cours Molière accommodates students from preschool to kindergarten, offering them bilingual French-English teaching, for a reduced number of students (20 students maximum). When desired, all-day Wednesdays from 9 am to 6 pm with workshops in the afternoon. Cours Molière offers bilingual elementary teaching (French - English) in small group classes. The traditional teaching methods of the school allow students to thrive and continue their education in the best institutions, in France and abroad. When desired, all-day Wednesdays from 9 am to 6 pm with workshops in the afternoon. Since the early twentieth century, the private college in Paris, Cours Molière, accommodates students from the 6ème to the 3ème (French levels) in small group classes with international options. Classical teaching methods offer to the students the best preparation to complete the French Brevet des Collèges. Specialized in the French S and ES series, Cours Molière provides high-level teaching at its private high school in Paris, into a strict and ambitious setting for the final education cycle. The success rate of the Baccalaureate over the last years is 95% on average (all series combined, for students, present since the Seconde). Cours Molière offers renowned higher education, including the opportunity to attend advanced courses, and preparation for HEC (Haute Ecole de Commerce) or IEP (Institut d’Etudes Politiques) entrance exam.
  2. Founded by Jeannine Manuel in 1954, the then Ecole Active Bilingue became an associated UNESCO school in 1957. Since 1959, the School has also been linked to the French national education system through a « contract d’association » with the Ministry of Education, which provides substantial subsidies to independent schools in France. In 1979, the School changed its name to Ecole Active Bilingue Jeannine Manuel (EABJM) and moved to its current main campus, 70 rue du Théâtre in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. The next year, EABJM became the first independent International Baccalaureate (IB) school in France and, in 1992, opened its Lille campus with boarding facilities. In 2004, the Fondation Jeannine Manuel was created shortly after the passing of the School’s founder and, ten years later, the School marked its sixtieth anniversary by shortening its name to, simply, Ecole Jeannine Manuel, thereby honoring her and affirming the School’s identity. The following year, the School’s namesake opened in London where the dream had begun more than seventy years before. Today, Ecole Jeannine Manuel is the largest non-profit coeducational independent school in France. We welcome over 3,200 students from nursery to twelfth grade, in Paris, and Lille, representing almost eighty nationalities and every major cultural and religious tradition. Students follow an enriched bilingual curriculum and, in eleventh grade, choose between the French track leading to the international option of French baccalaureate (American section) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB). Academic standards are high: Ecole Jeannine Manuel is consistently ranked among the top French schools (ranked first among French high schools – public or private – in 2013, 2014, and 2015). There are three campuses in Paris: Dupleix, Suffren, and Théâtre with a total of almost 2,400 students a campus in Lille with 860 students (including 120 boarders) and a sister school in London with 350 students from nursery to 8th grade (September 2016), which will grow into a primary and secondary school of 1,100 students leading – as in France – to the French baccalaureate or the IB Our School's mission is to promote international understanding through the bilingual education of a multicultural community of students and to foster pedagogical innovation by exploring best practices in an ever-changing global environment.

    Marymount Paris

Marymount Paris is an outstanding private school for children aged 2 to 14. We are the oldest international school in France, and have a rich history of inclusion and diversity, offering a warm welcome to children from a wide range of countries, cultures, and religions. Our ethos is founded on Catholic values, which underpin daily life at Marymount. Our spacious and verdant campus is beautiful. We are fortunate to have wonderful facilities: a sports hall, three gymnasia, a library, a performing arts theatre, dedicated music rooms, a bright and spacious art room with a pottery studio, a chapel, a dining hall, excellent IT and science resources, a FABLAB, and leafy gardens for outdoor learning. Our program of enriching educational visits makes the best use of the cultural treasures of Paris and the rest of France. Our international parent body offers exceptional support to those who are new to Paris. The Parent-Teacher Organization also leads enrichment and social activities throughout the year, and the seasonal goûters and BBQs are not to be missed! Children benefit from a dedicated French lesson every day and Francophones follow the French National Curriculum program of language study. We encourage children to speak in both languages as much as possible. We warmly invite you to come and see for yourself what makes Marymount such a special place for children to learn and grow. The PTO is at the center of our family community and provides a much-appreciated support network for new parents and children. Their contributions to the life of the school through fundraising, event organizing, and providing a 'soft-landing to families who arrive during the year are the social glue that underpins our unique Marymount culture. All parents are automatically included in the PTO when they enroll their children. We draw on the expert knowledge of our highly qualified teaching team to make sure our young people thrive. We set high expectations for each child in our care and provide extra challenge or support for those who need it. Our curriculum maps show how engaging units of study promote truly international education. Safeguarding children is a concept that reaches beyond child protection to incorporate the additional aims of preventing the harm of children’s health and development, ensuring children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care. It is an umbrella term used in schools to describe the process of protecting children from abuse or neglect, preventing impairment of their health and development, and ensuring that they are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care that enables children to have optimum life chances and enter adulthood successfully. We take campus security and safety seriously. We want our young people to flourish in a safe environment. All staff undergoes annual safeguarding training. In alignment with CIS/ITFCP, we hold ourselves to a high standard of effective security practices with specific attention to child protection. We adopt stringent safer recruitment practices. Candidates for employment are required to undergo rigorous background checks for every country they have worked and resided in. We also verify references and qualifications before contracts are signed.

Our small class structure fosters close relationships between the child and his or her teachers and classmates and provides ample opportunity to differentiate instruction and tailor learning to the child’s interests and needs. The teachers and staff of BISP help each student develop the self-confidence and interpersonal skills needed whereby they feel free to express their talents while becoming caring, respectful and tolerant individuals. BISP’s small class size is unique in Paris and provides an opportunity to offer an individualized approach to each student. At our school, your child is not a number, but a special member of our family. As a parent, you become part of our family as well, with invitations to participate in our numerous school activities and frequent communication about what is going on in our school and how your child is progressing at school. BISP is old-fashioned in the individualized approach it offers each student, and it is resolutely modern, bringing the best of 21st-century technology into the classroom to engage children in a multimedia learning experience. 8. The Institut Supérieur d'Electronique de Paris, located in the heart of Paris, next to the "Quartier Latin," was created in 1955, just where Edouard Branly, Teacher of Physics at the "Catholic University of Paris" (21 Rue d'Assas), discovered in 1890 the radio conductors which would lead to the invention of the French Television. Classrooms, Labs, and Administration of the school are located in a building built in 1988 and located at the 28, rue Notre-Dame-des-Champs, Paris. The ISEP master's degree is recognized by the engineering accreditation institution (CTI) since 1960. In 1969, the school formed an association with 19 other schools (27 until today) of the catholic private sector. This association is named FESIC (Engineer and Management Graduate Schools Federation). In 1971, the school was recognized by the French government. In 2014, ISEP opened a new campus at Issy-les-Moulineaux. SEP is a French engineering graduate school in digital technology, known as a "Grande École d'Ingénieurs." ISEP trains very high-level graduate engineers who receive thorough training in Electronics, Telecommunications & Networks, Software Engineering, Signal-Image Processing, and Humanities, providing them with the required knowledge and skills to meet the needs of businesses. Since 2008, ISEP has been offering an international program taught entirely in English, which allows international students to obtain the Engineering Master Degree. Digital technology is everywhere: from complicated industrial equipment to daily objects (mobile phones, transportation, household appliances, etc.). It holds an essential place in a globalized economy and opens up new hiring opportunities for our graduates. There is a shortage of engineers in our country: every year, nearly 37,000 engineers are trained in France, but actually, the French job market requires 42,000 Engineers. ISEP engineers are active in different IT-related business sectors: computer consulting, software, hardware, aerospace and automotive, banks, insurance, pharmaceutical, etc. Basing on the survey of the French magazine Usine Nouvelle, ISEP is ranked among the top French graduate engineering institutions: France's 1st private engineering school and 11th out of 106 best engineering graduate schools. ISEP welcomes a diverse range of international students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. International students with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related fields (e.g., computer engineering, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, telecommunications, computer science) can apply for the Engineering Master Degree program, entirely taught in English: 3 specializations are proposed: Embedded Sytems, Software Engineering and Wireless Telecommunication and IoT Systems. Step international team will help you get started and keep you informed of every necessary step, from the beginning to your successful academic achievement. Here you will find some useful and practical information to prepare (and enjoy) your stay at ISEP. View full university
  9. PDF, former Ecole Polytechnique Féminine (Polytechnic School for Women), was founded in 1925 as one of 2France's first Grandes Ecoles to train women to be engineers. Since then, it has trained almost 10,000 graduates in every sector of industry and service. Each class has 300 students in the general curriculum and 20-30 students in double degree programs. EPF was founded in 1925 by the female engineer Marie-Louise Paris, under the name IEF (Institut Électromécanique Féminin - Women's Electromechanical Institute) young women to be electromechanical engineers. It also included a shorter program that trained draftswomen and assistant engineers. In 1933, IEF became EPF (Polytechnic School for Women) and added an extra year of studies (moving from 2 to 3 years of study) and an aeronautics department. In 1938, EPF received accreditation by CTI (Commission des titers d'ingénieur) to grant engineering degrees, and in 1943 it received recognition from the French State. In 1976, EPF became a member of the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles. In 1993, it joined the UGEI (Union des Grandes Ecoles Indépendantes) after gaining a "public-interest foundation" status in 1991. PDF began accepting male students in 1994, but its history and expertise make it one of the engineering schools with the highest percentage of female students (36% compared with 17% in other engineering schools). After its early days at the CNAM (Conservatoire national des arts et métiers), EPF had to move to Sceaux in 1956 (20 km from Paris), with its address at three bis rue Lakanal, in Marie-Louise Paris' home. Since then, EPF has expanded and acquired two other sites. PDF opened a new site in Troyes (East of France), in 2010 and another in Montpellier (South of France) in 2012. The promotion of diversity has always been in the heart of the EPF project since the beginning in 1925. Renown for the high standards of its academic programs, the school has developed a special relationship with many local institutions on the french territory and also with research centers. These tight bands led to the opening of two new campuses. On the one hand, in Troyes in 2010 and on the other hand in Montpellier in 2012. For more than 50 years, EPF has shown mutual trust for its partner companies, based on their recognition for our well-rounded engineers' professional merit. A testimony to this mutual relationship between the school and companies, several large groups (EADS, EDF, GrDF, and Dassault Aviation) serve on EPF's Board of Directors and its continuing education board. They play an active role in setting out the academic curriculum and providing advice on majors and coursework (more than 300 professionals take part in courses), taking part in professional conferences, sponsoring classes, and hosting students. This unique relationship between the company and EPF is the result of our school's professional severe integration policy, backed by a department dedicated to the issue. This entity is in charge of preparing engineering students for professional insertion. It organizes conferences with large corporations, prepares our students for the workplace (CV/resume coaching and interview preparation), and promotes our graduates' projects through the "Les EPF ont du talent" competition. With a focus on the industrial sector, this department encourages students to take on internship and job opportunities and fosters EPF students' networking with companies. One of the highlights of EPF's year is the Corporate Forum held annually in October. There are more than 40 exhibitors from all sectors (aeronautics, telecommunications, IT, construction, environment, finance, etc.), 450 visitors, and many CVs handed out in exchange for internship and job offers. It gives engineering companies the chance to recruit excellent prospects at the source. Note that the Forum is also open the foreign companies. Starting at the beginning of the 2009 academic year, in partnership with Cefipa (CFAI) and the with Montpellier Business School CFA, EPF now offers apprenticeship engineering training. With an enrolment of 30 students with two years' post-secondary experience, it prepares future Industrial and Information Systems engineers through a CTI-accredited curriculum that combines coursework and on-the-job training. In addition to training well-rounded engineers, one of EPF's primary concerns is making its students capable of being adaptable and operational. To meet this goal, it has included several approved internships in its program throughout the curriculum. Internship projects are done upon the company's request, in France or abroad. Students are assisted by the internship department and advised by an EPF professor and supervised by an engineer. ESPCI Paris

Ever since it was founded, ESPCI ParisTech has been gaining in prestige and status. Evolving from a municipal school established to train industrial production managers, it has achieved the status of a central institute of higher education in science and engineering, which recruits students via the most selective competitive examination in France - an exam in common with École Polytechnique and, since 2011, the Écoles Normales Supérieures (ENS schools). This steady progress has been maintained by a constant focus on scientific excellence in teaching and research alike. The five Nobel Prize winners associated with the School - Pierre Curie, Marie Curie, Frédéric Joliot-Curie, Pierre-Gilles de Gennes, and Georges Charpak - are emblematic of the exceptional ethos embodied in the permanent culture of excellence. ESPCI ParisTech is also the only institute of higher education whose directors have all been inducted into the French Academy of Sciences (apart from Charles Lauth, the visionary chemist, industrialist, and founder). From Paul Schützenberger to Jacques Prost, including Paul Langevin and Pierre-Gilles de Gennes, all ESPCI ParisTech directors have embodied the ideal of scientific excellence, the guiding principle in ensuring the institution's world-class status. The unfailing commitment to scientific excellence at ESPCI ParisTech explains the School's international prestige and position in the global community. In 2010, for the third year running, the Shanghai Ranking" (Academic Ranking of World Universities, ARWU) placed ESPCI ParisTech in the lead among France's institutions of science and engineering, demonstrating again that the ambition of scientific excellence is a viable, complementary alternative to size and scale in rivaling the world's top universities. Over 125 years after it was founded, ESPCI ParisTech preserves the same fundamental focus on its scientific reputation and excellence, which have been accrued over time. The School's renown has been instrumental in attracting leading teachers and researchers, who further enhance the institution's prestige. That ESPCI ParisTech scientists' Nobel Prizes were awarded in both Physics and Chemistry is emblematic of the School's transdisciplinary culture. What is more, the variety of the connections between the Nobel laureates at the School (researcher, lecturer, graduate, director, and professor) evidences ESPCI ParisTech's ability to attract the leading scientific innovators of their time, irrespective of their position. ESPCI ParisTech was founded in 1882 by the Paris City Council. Its legal status changed on January 1, 2006, and it now operates as an autonomous municipal administrative corporation (a Régie autonome, in French). The Paris City Council decided on July 11 and 12, 2005, to change the legal status of ESPCI ParisTech (École Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles) and EIVP (École des Ingénieurs de la Ville de Paris, City of Paris Engineering School), by granting both institutions legal personality and financial autonomy. The purpose of the reform is to provide the two engineering schools previously administered as departments of the city government, the necessary autonomy to fully carry out their mission while strengthening their ties to the City of Paris, which continues to finance most of their activities. The Chairman has full powers for the corporation's administration (Régie), for staff appointments, budget execution, and legal action. Besides, the Historical Resource Center (CRH, Centre de Ressources Historiques) at ESPCI ParisTech, which operates under the AUSPICES of the Library, has the mission of preserving and showcasing the institution's historical and scientific heritage. To accomplish its twofold mission, the ESPCI ParisTech Library can call on the institution's resources and its versatile team of professionals. It cooperates with the other libraries in the ParisTech network, university libraries, the libraries in the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève area, and the documentary research centers of major research institutions, including CNRS. The Library has been a member of the Couperin consortium since 2001. As a champion for scientific excellence, ESPCI ParisTech is actively working to take science and the love of science beyond the labs and lecture halls. Inspiring an appetite for knowledge by fostering curiosity and interest in science and experimentation is increasingly vital today, despite an apparent lack of interest in the western world for scientific studies and careers. A renewed interest in science today will contribute to tomorrow's knowledge-based economy. The Espace Pierre-Gilles de Gennes is a meeting place open to the community and dedicated to the connection between science and the Citizen. This is where the School takes initiatives to raise awareness about science, with démonstrations of experiments for young people from elementary School to university level. For instance, the School was the first to develop pioneering programs like ASTEP (supporting teachers through the participation of scientists in primary education) and the Hands-On program for which several students volunteer each year. The Espace Pierre-Gilles de Gennes also hosts temporary exhibitions (e.g., the Langevin exhibition in 2006) and permanent exhibitions for the general public. The seven ESPCI ParisTech auditoriums are the venue for various lectures, ranging from the most advanced scientific investigations to topics of interest to the layman. These include the Experimental Lectures series, which is unique in science, combining lectures with lab-bench demonstrations. The "Litterasciences" series promotes general scientific culture. The "Les Chantiers du Savoir" lecture series, organized by faculty members with assistance from the Student Union, tackles more challenging topics through the involvement of significant scientists of our time.

    ESITC Paris

ESITC Paris trains future engineers interested in construction careers by providing them with the skills required by companies today on both the technical and ethical fronts. ESITC is a non-profit organization under the French law of 1901. Recognized by the French government, by ministerial decree in 2001, the school is a private higher education establishment founded at large companies' request in the construction and public works field in 1992 and administered by a Board of Directors. The school was accredited by the CTI (French engineering degree accreditation institution) to deliver engineering degrees to students and later to apprentices. ESITC Paris trains versatile engineers prepared for management positions combining technical skill and pragmatism to carry out a project in its entirety (design, management, and execution). Our graduates are called to become production engineers on-site (technical, human resources, and financial management on projects) or hold support positions (methods engineer, price studies, structure studies, etc.) within the biggest companies in the construction and public works fields. Strengthened by its teaching partnerships with IAE Gustave Eiffel and Pierre et Marie Curie the University, as well as with companies in the Construction field, ESITC Paris is also a member of the Union of Independent Higher Education Institutions (UGEI) and the Conference of Deans of French Schools of Engineering (CDEFI). This five-year program, created and adapted over time and the profession, aligns academic education with the professional world. Students discover a new world from the first year of study that is a complete change from the teaching they received in secondary school that often felt far from their genuine concerns. Orientation days are organized with the companies that sponsor the incoming classes of students. The ski week is planned in conjunction with the Léon Grosse company, the gala ball with GCC, and the Telethon fund-raising week with Vinci Construction. The BDS (sports union) coordinates all sporting activities organized within the school. This association allows students to play a sport throughout the year (rugby, football, boxing, tennis, sailing, etc.) and to take part in inter-university championships while building on the values we hold dear: cohesion, team spirit, tolerance, humility. Coming to France to study in a new university can be difficult for students who are not familiar with the French university system. ESITC's International Office has a system in place to accompany foreign exchange students. The mentoring system exists thanks to our engineering students' willingness and commitment. Beyond reinforcing scientific knowledge and expanding in social sciences, engineering students encounter new technological courses as early as their first year, making a clean break from the very general secondary school system: resistance of materials, topography, general construction, construction design, or works organization and management. Site work placement: at the end of the first year, this placement provides students with an opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired and introduces them to today's corporate world. Sponsorship by a company creates a special connection from the time students enter their 1st year. It lasts through their entire school curriculum, facilitating contact with the professional world when looking for work placements. This 3-year cycle mainly focuses on technical, management, and communication courses and the fundamental work placements. When they return to campus in January, instruction is geared toward technical subjects (structural steelwork, soil mechanics, etc.) and the completion of several applied projects. This dense year ends with the mandatory 3-month work placement in a foreign country. Since 2012, ESITC Paris has been offering the possibility for 20 students to enter the engineering program as apprentices in a 3-year work-study course. As part of the work-study contract, the student is both a paid employee of the company and an engineering student at ESITC. Throughout the program, each apprentice receives follow-up and guidance from a work-study mentor at the company and an advisor at the school. After each period worked at the company (8 in total), the apprentice's advisor prepares an evaluation. The skills acquired during these work periods are also evaluated upon returning to campus. The apprentice engineer must meet the same requirements as engineering students with legal student status: skills are evaluated using equivalent exams, validation of experiential learning is the decision of a jury led by an executive director from a building and public works company and including the university director and professors, thus allowing work-study students to receive the same degree. The curriculum, designed in collaboration with companies in the field, differs from the traditional apprenticeship sandwich course based on a 6-week rhythm on average. The progressive 3-year program includes a continuous period of 4 months of site management and complete immersion over several weeks in a partner university in the Netherlands during the 1st year. The topics of company management and engineering firms are covered during the 2nd year of work-study. During the final year, apprentices follow the traditional framework with a 4 to 6-month end of studies placement in methods/price studies and specialization according to their host company: Building or Roads and Public Works.

    ENSTA Paris Tech

Due to its expansion of programs, graduate degrees, and campusesinitiallya,

The Institute has a long history of supporting French and British academic collaboration that pre-dates the Entente Cordiale – the historic agreement that significantly improved Anglo-French relations in 1904. The University of London Institute in Paris was the brainchild of Miss Edith Williams, who came to the Sorbonne to train as a teacher of English. She succeeded in becoming the second-ever woman to receive the Agrégation d'anglais (a qualification necessary for teaching at university level) and holding weekly English classes in her flat. In 1894, thanks to the British Ambassador and the French Government's support, she formed the Franco-British Guild. In the aftermath of the Great War, the Guild was reorganized to become the British Institute in Paris, the first British Institute in continental Europe that offered French and English courses. It was an integral part of the Universite de Paris and was also supported by a consortium of British universities, including the University of London. A library and a clubroom were added, and leading French and British intellectuals and academics were invited to lecture. The Institute's work continued during the German occupation of France. Some staff accepted the hospitality of the University of Reading, where they offered parallel classes in French and English to British and French officers to improve the liaison between them. Others remained in Paris, where they contrived to run covert distance courses in English through-out the war. Upon graduation, AUP students take part in and benefit from the global network that is our worldwide alumni community, creating lifelong connections to one another and the University. By 2020, The American University of Paris aims to be internationally recognized for offering the finest and most demographically diverse American education in Europe to the global explorers. They fit their unique educational culture and flourish within it. That reputation has its origins in the continuity of the University's 55-year mission to offer a student-centered, transformative education in the heart of Paris that pushes students to transcend the confines of "narrow nationalism." AUP's future reputation will rest upon its excellent record of graduating global citizens who are successful and have an impact on the world. Upon its goal of being an internationally recognized site of disciplinary, interdisciplinary, and cross-cultural teaching, scholarship, creativity, and academic convocation. We will measure our success by our faculty and students' capacity to find empowering solutions to the pressing issues of our times, crossing, as they do, religious, cultural, ethnic, social, political, and linguistic borders. To achieve these aims, we will put the student life and learning of our global explorers at the center of our work, tailoring our processes, programs, strategies, and spaces to enhance the student experience. We will further develop the relevance and quality of a curriculum aligned with the aspirations of global explorers that combines the best of liberal arts inquiry, integrated student-life and cultural programs, and professional preparedness—thereby creating a path from curriculum to career or graduate studies for every single student. We will support the curriculum by creating an integrated advising process combining academic, career, and leadership support, promoting and providing internships, and developing the professional skills required by our students' first employers. Our students will graduate with the cultural competencies required to live personally and socially meaningful and productive lives. As a result of steady commitment to these priorities, we will extend our recruitment reach and reputation globally, strengthen enrollments while increasing selectivity and "fit," and support our students who require scholarship aid. We make this last commitment to composing a student body as socioeconomically diverse as it is culturally and linguistically. We will also prize the inextricable links between excellence in teaching and excellence in research, at once providing resources and expecting accountability for our faculty's scholarly and professional productivity, establishing viable career advancement steps and rewarding them appropriately. At the same time, we will provide the faculty development necessary to ensure inspiring teaching and active pedagogies and faculty engagement and intellectual renewal. We will encourage our faculty to invest in AUP's rising academic reputation by supporting the faculty's scholarship, professional activity, and conferences. As our faculty retires, we will renew the ranks with talented teacher-scholars deeply invested in AUP's mission in fields appropriately supporting the evolving curriculum. We will create a diverse portfolio of strategic partnerships with sister institutions, consortia, and governments to leverage the University's reputation, growth, enrollments, curricular reach, and faculty development. We will invest in the renewal of our facilities, renovating our distributed urban campus in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, creating in the process dedicated student and faculty spaces, new and refreshed learning environments, and coherent hubs of service. We will continually upgrade the learning resources and technologies that support all students, faculty, and staff. We will continue to build on the success of the University's 50th and 55th anniversaries to create a vibrant worldwide community of alumni who support current students' career aspirations and regularly participate in the University's development and capital growth. By creating a global President's Alumni Advisory Council with annual meetings in the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, and a thriving virtual network of alumni worldwide, we will draw increasing numbers of alumni to join AUP's Board of Trustees, thereby taking responsibility for leadership of the University's future. We will ensure the University's sustainability by multiple means, investing in AUP's faculty and staff and ensuring the engagement of both with AUP's mission delivering continuous development of our academic offerings and administrative functioning by strengthening our planning and assessment culture creating a robust business model that rests on appropriately expanded enrollments and reduced dependence on tuition and, resourcing the strategic plan using a capital campaign to provide both an appropriately renovated campus and endowment funds to support AUP's academic and student scholarship programs.

    Paris 13 University

Paris University 13 is one of the thirteen universities created after the reorganization of the old Sorbonne after 1968. It now has 24,000 students spread across five campuses pursuing degrees or continuing education. Truly multi-disciplinary, Paris University 13 is a major center of teaching and research in the north of Paris. Paris University 13 is officially categorized under French law as a « public establishment of a scientific, cultural and professional nature. It is a legal person with pedagogical, scientific, administrative, and financial autonomy. It determines its policy within the regulations and laws framework and follows its contractual obligations, particularly with the state. The fundamental mission of Paris University 13 is to improve the scientific, cultural, and professional knowledge of all through initial and continuing education and the development of research, which is its essential foundation. The General Administration is responsible for managing the university under the authority of the President of the university. The General Manager is responsible for the administration and management of the university. As an ex officio member of the Office and an assistant to the President during all committees, he plays a valuable role in implementing the President's policy, particularly human resources management. 23. IAE de Paris stands out for its focus on Executive Education – 80% of our students are business professionals seeking to gain an in-depth knowledge of management theory or to update their skills with the latest tools & techniques by studying part-time. We also provide a full range of graduate business and management programs, with general (Bachelor, MBAs) and research-based (Master of Decision Science and Risk Management, Master of Applied Organization) curriculums, or with a more specialized focus (Master of Control-Auditing, Master of Finance, Master of Marketing and Commercial Practices, Master of Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility). Our international programs taught in Paris and thirteen other countries reflect our school's global outlook, as are the 842 international students we welcome each year and the close network of partnerships we have developed with foreign universities. At our school in Paris, conferences are held throughout the year by visiting professors and business executives worldwide. Our faculty members regularly teach courses abroad in both English and French. Essential to our mission as both a top-class provider of business education and a dynamic research institution is our faculty's quality, who bring their wealth of expertise and knowledge to life for our students through the use of the case-study method of teaching. In terms of research, IAE's applied focus has given rise to an extended collaboration with corporate partners, which is today structured through our four research groups. Along with the IAE de Paris doctoral school, these groups strive to produce relevant results to organizational practice and contribute to academic knowledge. As a non-profit organization belonging to a public university, we pride ourselves on bridging the gap between a top-class academic education and the international business world. I was founded in 1956 by then State Director of Higher Education Gaston Berger and Professor Robert Goetz. Its sole founding course, the Certificate of Aptitude in Business Administration, was designed to provide management expertise as an additional skill to graduates of other fields. The variety of students' profiles – engineers, lawyers, arts, and science graduates – has always been a distinctive feature and strength of IAE. Over the last few decades, economic globalization has changed the career prospects of IAE students, which have gone from basically national to entirely global. Consequently, in the early 1990s, IAE de Paris began developing its international activities with faculty exchanges, which, as in many academic institutions, often lead to contacts with foreign partners that generate collaboration in both research and teaching. Since the early 2000s, IAE de Paris has sought to make it possible for its large proportion of currently employed executive education students to benefit from an international experience. The winning formula has proven to be short international seminars of between two days and two weeks duration, generally organized in collaboration with a foreign partner university. IAE de Paris also welcomes foreign groups, usually from partner universities, for similar seminars in Paris. Another key initiative of IAE de Paris was offshore degree programs, begun fifteen years ago. Various executive programs are now offered in partnership with foreign higher education institutions. The International Paris MBA programs were developed jointly with the University of Paris-Dauphine, and a foreign partner, with content related to the Master d'Administration des Entreprises, taught at IAE de Paris. In 2005, the institutional reform of higher education streamlined the hierarchy of French degrees (LMD or Bachelor-Master-Doctorate) and put them on a par with the rest of Europe and many other countries worldwide. Ensuring that the degrees offered at IAE de Paris became transparent to both international students and foreign recruiters opened the way for international expansion. IAE de Paris is a business school committed to individuals' personal development, whatever their origins, selected based on their potential and the academic or professional path they have followed. IAE de Paris strives to favor the democratization of high-level responsibilities in business through an original education concept, which includes dual skill-sets, apprenticeships, and executive education. This approach is anchored in a non-deterministic vision of individuals' careers, which holds that potential and merit are the determinants of lifelong development. Founded on the values of progress, IAE de Paris's research and education programs contribute to the development of knowledge and its practical application in organizations. In this way, IAE de Paris meets students' needs, French and international companies, and society at large by producing graduates with a solid management culture who are in synch with the modern world and concerned with the common good. The strategic vision of IAE de Paris is to be recognized as a general graduate business school with particular expertise in part-time Master's programs for currently employed executives. It strives for international recognition for the quality of its Executive Education, whether the courses take place in Paris or elsewhere in the world. IAE de Paris is a public higher education institution affiliated with the University of Paris I Sorbonne. In France, working in the public service is a deliberate choice. This is reflected in our faculty and staff members' strong attachment to the institution, sincere commitment to students' social promotion, independent involvement in research activities, and sense of honor with the work accomplished. These are the values that drive IAE de Paris, contributing to its singularity and success in a competitive environment.

    Paris 8 University

Founded as an experimental academic center in Vincennes in 1969, Université Paris 8 moved to Saint-Denis in 1980. Our university has become a significant teaching and research center for humanities in the Île-de-France region. The main objective of Université Paris 8 - with its focus on humanities, human sciences, arts, and social sciences has always been to give students a better understanding of the modern world while enabling them, at the same time, to achieve a long-term integration into society. The innovative nature of the research undertaken here can be traced back to the various fields studied at Université Paris 8. Our university became a pioneer in fields that were usually not approached by other French universities: psychoanalysis, urban planning, geopolitics, cinema, plastic arts, gender studies, etc. To this day, Université Paris 8 has always insisted on maintaining a strong link between research and teaching, adapting teaching methods to different kinds of audiences, and providing education for all at every stage of life. Paris 8: a university open onto the world, a place for teaching, for research, knowledge, creation, and culture, where reflection and interaction with our world are encouraged Université Paris 8 Vincennes - Saint-Denis, founded in 1968, is the heir to the testing center of Vincennes born in the intellectual and pedagogical turmoils which followed in the wake of May 68. Since then, the university has been characterized by a desire to promote democratic access to knowledge and education and has oriented research to answer our modern world's challenges. The reputation and influence of Université Paris 8 is also grounded on the international fame of a number of scholars who have held teaching positions in our institution, among others : Hélène Cixous, François Châtelet, Jean-François Lyotard, Michel Foucault, Gilles Deleuze, Jacques Lacan, Madeleine Rebérioux, Robert Castel, Denis Guedj, and Daniel Bensaïd. Based in Saint-Denis since 1980, Université Paris 8 is attended by students from all around the world. We like to define ourselves today as a "world university". The quality of our faculty and students, the interdisciplinary nature of our classes and research, the fact that we are open to the modern world, our numerous international partnerships in education and research, and our involvement with the local social, economic, cultural, and professional environments have enabled Université Paris 8 to become an elite institution for learning and research in the fields of the humanities, human sciences, social sciences, and arts. Degrees (undergraduate level), 77 "master's" specialties (graduate level), and 50 university diplomas are available in six teaching areas: arts culture and communication law, economics and management humanities and languages human and social sciences, science, technology, and health. Since its opening in 1968, Université Paris 8 Vincennes - Saint-Denis has put international relations at the core of its research and teaching activities. Université Paris 8 has partnerships with numerous foreign higher education institutions. It also actively participates in several major international programs, such as the ERASMUS exchange program for European universities and the CREPUQ program with Quebec, which concerns French-speaking universities. The agreements signed by Université Paris 8 are of limited duration and pursue different objectives depending on its partner universities: research involving the faculty of the various universities, international conferences, and joint publications, study periods for students in the partner universities, development of curricula and courses involving international partnerships, delocalization of the degrees, etc. The role of the international relations office is to provide decision-making bodies with information concerning development opportunities abroad and assistance to faculty members wishing to work with foreign partners, as well as to students who want to complete their curriculum or find an internship abroad (we call this "student mobility").
  25. In 1971, René Descartes - Paris V University was created due to the University of Paris's reform. Their Faculties of medicine, pharmacy, humanities, sciences, and law were split and divided into eight universities located in Paris. The University Institute of Technology, the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education (STAPS), the Faculty of Odontology, the Saints Pères Faculty of Biomedical Sciences were first added to the original René Descartes - Paris V University created in 1971, then in 1976, the Faculty of Law of Malakoff also joined the University. In 2004, the University underwent once again some significant changes. The three faculties of Paris' medicine (Necker, Cochin, and Broussais) merged to become the Faculty of Medicine of Paris Descartes (MP5). They hence could offer students decompartmentalized general and specialized teaching and constitute a federative center, representative of medicine in Paris. Furthermore, the University was one of the first to implement the Bologna Process (LMD - Degree, Master, Doctorate, or 3-5-8) to make the diplomas European. The reform, based on the academic teaching organization in semesters and the capitalization of credits (ECTS), provides a greater understanding of the students' skills and makes it easier to study abroad. When it was created, the University chose to be under the patronage of René Descartes (1596-1650), whose scientific approach was genuinely modern, encompassed all human knowledge, and was perfectly adapted to a multidisciplinary university. With its nine Training and research departments (UFR) and its Institute of Technology (IUT), Paris Descartes University encompasses all the fields of human and health sciences. As the years went by, various faculties (UFR) were added to the original medical faculty. The University welcomes the general public on National Heritage Days (journées du Patrimoine), and the Musée d'Histoire de la médecine is open for the general public all year round. It was placed from the beginning under the patronage of the philosopher René Descartes and is open to all academic subjects. In 1769, Louis XV trusted the architect Jacques Gondolin to become the Faculty of Medicine at the beginning of the 19th century. The king himself placed the "last stone" of the amphitheater in 1774. The building was a master-work in the "Greek style," very fashionable by the end of the reign of Louis XV. At that time, the New Faculty of Medicine, located on rue des Saints-Pères, took over. The exterior walls of the University Centre of the Saints-Pères are decorated with 45 medallions, 120 cm in diameter, representing subjects from Antiquity to the Middle Ages. The main gate in bronze was the work of Paul Landowski and represented scenes of men and women in Nature and scenes from Mythology. The Faculty of Law of Malakoff, formerly the École supérieure d’électricité, is one of the rare buildings devoted to teaching to be built in the 30's style in Paris. The Faculty of Pharmacy, on the avenue de l'Observatoire, was built between 1877 and 1882. It was extended many times between 1932 and 1965 and constituted an impressive architectural ensemble with its "Salle des Actes," a comprehensive reconstruction of the original model dating from the 17th century. Other more recent buildings are located near hospitals or other prestigious buildings: Cochin and the Convent of Port-Royal, Les Enfants Malades, and Necker Hospital or Laennec Hospital. The headquarters of the University contains works of outstanding quality: a set of Gobelins tapestries called "The Four Elements," designed by Charles Le Brun and bearing the arms of Louis XIV, numerous pictures by Van Clève, Philippe de Champaigne, Rigaud, Nattier, and Girodet, and some marble statues by J.B. Lemoyne and Houdon. The 18th century (colonnades, grand staircases, amphitheaters) and the noble additions from the 19th century create an elegant décor for these works of art. Paris Descartes University is proud to house many museums. Paintings, engravings, lithographs, tokens, and medals are exhibited with an outstanding collection of surgical and physiological instruments. This museum, restored and mostly open to the public, has become "The Museum of University Teaching and Research" (Musée de l'enseignement supérieur et de la recherche). The beautiful collection of china pots and bronze mortars of the Faculty of Pharmacy must be noted, together with the Museum of Medical Matters (Musée des matières médicales), which is one of a kind in the world, and whose collections have been regularly enriched since the beginning of the 18th century.
