About Me

  1. St Benedict’s is a Catholic school for boys that provides a holistic, gospel, and values-based education centered on the example of Jesus Christ and based on the four pillars of academics, religion, sport, and the arts. Our boys use their talents to serve the world its people and the kingdom of God. Through the regular application of our core values, we continue to provide value to our boys and parents, and we will consistently meet our goals. We use the beatitudes - the series of blessings declared by Jesus during His Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5 - as a framework for our gospel-based approach and strive to develop healthy habits of mind, heart, body, and soul in our boys. In January 1957, the Oblates bought a 26-acre site in Bedfordview, which through later additions would eventually grow to nearly 40-acres today. In February, an application for the registration of a new school was sent to the East Rand School Board and on 11th July, the feast day of St Benedict of Nursia, official approval was received, hence the name “St. Benedict’s”. Fr Hugh Dalton, a CBC Kimberley old boy, was appointed Headmaster. On December 8, 1957, at the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Bishop Boyle (Bishop of Johannesburg) laid the foundation stone of the first building - the building we now call the “Erasme Block”. The initial goal of the Oblates was to grow the school to 400 boys with 2 classes per standard. Today, nearly one thousand four hundred boys study and play on a piece of land in Bedfordview that more than sixty years ago, consisted of smallholdings, the largest of which was used for training and kenneling greyhounds. At that time Bedfordview was semi-agricultural and sparsely populated. It was Fr Philip Erasme, Oblate of Mary Immaculate and Parish Priest of Maryvale who responded to Bishop David O’Leary’s request that a Catholic Boys’ School is established on the near East Rand. He saw Bedfordview as ideal as it would also cater for the boys from St Paul's School, a Parochial Primary School he had established in Maryvale. Our Junior Preparatory experience lays the foundation for developing the fundamental skills that are crucial for academic achievement. This is a vibrant and dynamic part of our school community where boys from Grade R to 3 grow socially and emotionally in a productive and nurturing environment. Our teachers focus on building your son’s positive self-concept through an enthusiastic approach to learning, which will give him every opportunity to thrive. As he progresses, your son will be encouraged to become increasingly independent. Our varied and stimulating program focuses on boys’ specific learning styles and encourages them to actively participate in the learning process. St Benedict’s has a proud academic tradition and consistently produces outstanding results in the IEB matriculation examinations. We have maintained our 100% matric pass rate for close to 45 years and university exemption rates are generally more than 98%. Our top achievers invariably feature on the IEB Outstanding and Commendable Achievers lists. Our academic curricula are based on the National Curriculum and are compatible with the best international approaches to teaching and learning. Our tailor-made active academic approach blends 21st-century critical-thinking skills and positive dispositions with academic rigor so that your son can continue to apply, create and achieve in the years that lie beyond school graduation. We believe that the Catholic School's task is fundamentally a synthesis of culture and faith, and a synthesis of faith and life - the first is reached by integrating all the different aspects of human knowledge through all that is taught in the light of the Gospel the second in the growth of the virtues characteristic of the Christian, in prayer, in worship and relationships with other people. The staff of the College contributes in practical ways, so that all may discover the meaning of sound Christian values, in thought, word and deed. Our goal is that our boys may become a generation of adults who have hope in themselves, hope in Christ, and hope in the promise of fullness of life. At St Benedict’s, we believe in holistic education and highly value academic achievement as well as full participation in sport and cultural activities. The four cornerstones of St Benedict’s education include academics, religion, sport, and culture. Working together, these four cornerstones will mold your son’s mind, sculpt his soul, build his body and hone his heart. He will be encouraged to perform to his full potential in the classroom and on the sports field to make the most of his many talents. St Benedict’s is a school where your son will flourish!

  4. Establishing a catholic university in Indonesia was proposed at a meeting between bishops of Java held in Jakarta on 1st June 1952. To respond to this idea, the Atma Jaya Foundation was formed by a group of young Catholic intellectuals on 1st June 1960. This foundation established a catholic university named Universitas Katolik Indonesia Atma Jaya (Atma Jaya Catholic University). Among these young catholic intellectuals were: Ir. J.P.Cho, Drs. Lo Siang Hien-Ginting, Drs. Goei Tjong Tik, I.J. Kasimo, J.B. Legiman S.H., Drs. F.X. Seda, Dr. Pang Lay Kim, Ir. Tan Bian Seng, Dr. Anton Moeliono, St. Munadjat Danusaputro S.H., Drs. J.F. Tan, and Drs. Ben Mang-Reng Say. In its early years, Unika Atma Jaya was supported by the Ursuline Sisters. They kindly lent the University their classrooms in the Ursuline school complex on Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara and Santa Theresia complex in Menteng. Since 1967, Atma Jaya has gradually occupied a permanent campus on the Jalan Sudirman campus, known as the Semanggi Campus. The Faculty of Medicine, the Atma Jaya hospital, and the Atma Jaya funeral home occupy the Pluit Campus in North Jakarta. The phrase "Atma Jaya" means a glorious (victorious/prosperous) spirit. A glorious spirit always encourages to increase the quality of education. The academic excellence and professional graduates are the eminent orientation. The University's vision is to be a leading university with academic and professional excellence at the international and national level, which consistently expresses the combination between the Christian Faith, science, technology, and the Indonesian culture to develop the people's minds. The University carries out the following missions: To implement an academic and professional education to develop science, professionalism, and characteristics of the students. To carry out necessary and applied research to advance science, technology, and art and culture (IPTEKS) To volunteer its expertise in IPTEKS to benefit society. To manage the University effectively and efficiently in an ethical and prestigious academic atmosphere. "For God and the Country," said the founders of Atma Jaya when stating their identity. After its establishment half a century ago, the whole civitas academica of Atma Jaya always strives to contextualize the spirits brought by the founders into contemporary development. In the commemoration of Lustrum XI in 2015, the big theme "Growing together with the Nation" was put forward. The choice for this theme again emphasizes that Atma Jaya and the nation's growth are separable because this is the most important reason. Raison d'etre. This 2015-2019 period is essential for the Atma Jaya community because the BSD campus will begin its operation. Therefore, Unika Atma Jaya now has three campuses: Semanggi, Pluit, and BSD Campus. In its Long-term Development Plan in 2015-2029, the three Atma Jaya campuses will have their unique services to the nation: The Semanggi Campus will become the Center for Nation Development. BSD Campus will become the Center for Human Development. The Pluit Campus, which consists of the Faculty of Medicine and Atma Jaya Teaching Hospital, will be dedicated to becoming the Center for Health Development. At the moment, Unika Atma Jaya has 18 Sarjana (Bachelor’s Degree) programs, 8 Magister (Master’s Degree) Programs, 2 Professional Programs and 1 Doctoral Program. In research, there are 4 Research Centers and 1 Community Empowerment Center under the coordination of Research and Community Service Institution (Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat/LPPM). The four research centers are HIV-AIDS Research Center (Pusat Penelitian HIV-AIDS/PPH), Center of Community Development Study (Pusat Kajian Pembangunan Masyarakat/PKPM), Center of Language and Culture (Pusat Kajian Budaya dan Bahasa/PKBB) and Center of Ethical Development (Pusat Pengembangan Etika/PPE). In Pluit, we have the Health Research Center (Pusat Penelitian Kesehatan /Puslitkes) while the Community Service Center (Pusat Pengabdian Masyarakat/PPM) is a medium for cross faculties community service activities. Aside from that, Atma Jaya also has Applied Science Affiliation Institution (Lembaga Afiliasi Ilmu Terapan/LAIT) which coordinates various activities such as language courses (Center of Language Teaching), publishing, etc. In the future, Semanggi Campus will become the center for Magister/Master's Degree programs, courses, certifications, and other non-degree programs, aside from becoming the center for academic or applied research activities. Semanggi Campus will be the "integrator" for Business-Government – Community. The Pluit Campus has a long history of conducting various programs, a joint program with the DKI City Government. Programs such as Rain Water Harvesting (RWH) in several places in Jakarta are a synergy among campus, industry, government, and the community. Aside from the national issues, the founders give their undivided attention to the marginal groups. As a part of the Catholic Higher Education institution, Atma Jaya implements the principle of Preferential Option for the Poor. The spirit of building the nation based on the principle of caring for the nation is translated into the Entrepreneurial and Social-Oriented University. In the 2015-2019 period, we have three pillars of main work programs, which are: to improve the Academic Reputation, to accelerate Organizational Transformation and also, to increase Social Awareness. Through systematic and continuous efforts, we firmly believe that Unika Atma Jaya will become one of Indonesia's reference universities. View full university
  5. Welcome to the Mesrobian High School. Mesrobian Armenian Catholic High School, along with the technical college, is a Lebanese Armenian and Armenian Catholic Patriarchal school from nursery to Second Baccalaureate class. The school aims at developing the pupils’ personalities holistically and harmoniously allowing them to nurture their potentials for self-realization in an atmosphere of trust and self-confidence. It provides the proper context for acquiring religious, moral, and Lebanese-Armenian cultural values, which will enable the students to become truthful, faithful, and lawful citizens, and active members of the society and the Armenian community. Through its educational program, the Mesrobian School aims to build the personality of children and adolescents in line with the spirit of harmonious cohesion, helping those who develop and implement their autonomy in a cooperative and self-confident atmosphere. Our kindergarten's mission is to provide academic excellence to all students, while the nursery provides child care services to children between the ages of two and three. For this purpose, the teaching curriculum and the informative programs are prepared to provide an experience that stimulates learning in a supportive environment that will satisfy the needs of the children and give individual attention to each of them. The preschool program is prepared to help the children acquire a variety of fundamental knowledge skills and a positive attitude towards learning. Children will also begin to develop their abilities and talents in different domains. The Teachers, the kindergarteners, the community members, and the families work together to provide a constructive and coherent learning experience that increases the child's confidence and encourages him/her to find that learning is both important and wonderful. The preschool program builds a firm intellectual, physical, and social base, vital for the child's future. The religious program that starts in kindergarten uses resources that support the child in all aspects of life. In the Small Section (PS), the child learns to communicate in Armenian and in French through the use of visual media. In addition, Arabic is taught. The curriculum includes the following classes: Christian education, pre-mathematics, rhythm, socialization, handicrafts, and school excursions. In the Middle section (MS), children are comfortable because they are accustomed to the methodology applied in the small section. Children begin to learn the alphabet. They also start to work more independently. They also participate in group work. In addition, the number of Arabic courses has increased. In the large Section (GS), children learn to read and write in three languages (Armenian, French, and Arabic). Their communication skills are improved. Children also master simple numbers and learn how to add. Homework and tests are done regularly to ensure continuous improvement. The primary school is committed to placing each child in the best position to succeed socially, emotionally, and academically. This is accomplished by providing a humane and Christian environment that actively involves parents and the community who support the teachers and concentrate on the students' success. In such a friendly environment, students become competent and independent learners for life. They will grow up to become responsible citizens with positive social skills, good self-esteem, and awareness of their roles in the community. In EB1 class (Grade 1) through activities, group work, and projects, children improve their reading, writing, and oral communication skills in three main languages (Arabic, Armenian and French). It is in the first year that the child starts to attend computer and science courses for the first time. He/she also follows the courses of civic instruction, music, mathematics, and Christian Education. Because of the same applied methodology and because the subjects taught are the same as those of the EB1 class, the children prepare to make a very gradual transition from the class of EB1 to the class of EB2. They learn to work independently and share ideas two by two and in group work. All children participate in school excursions, exhibitions, and activities that push children to learn. The EB3 class is the year where children celebrate their first Holy Communion. Celebrations and various other activities prepare them for this event. Academically, a student of this class must master all the basic concepts in mathematics, learn to think critically in science, and acquire the basic skills in three languages. Like their classmates from the EB1 and EB2 classes, children participate in activities, exhibitions, games, concerts, and school excursions. These activities prepare the child to pass the classes of EB4, EB5, and EB6. In line with the general objectives of the College Mesrobian, the college aims to develop the critical thinking of the students and to facilitate the gradual transition from childhood to adolescence through a balanced school curriculum. At the end of the college years, students are ready to take their first official exam and start thinking about their university studies and future career options. The main objective of the secondary cycle is to help all students become mature young adults in all aspects of their lives: spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual, and academic. The college tries to ensure the success of the students in the official exams and entrance exams at the university, through a qualified faculty and a very dynamic program. Consistent with the national curriculum, the teaching profession uses cooperative and interactive learning methods. Students apply their knowledge through scientific, empiric, deductive processes such as lab experience sessions and presentations. Students learn about the sciences and the humanities and are guided to choose the path that suits them the most. The choice between the sciences and the humanities depends on the talents, potentials, and learning abilities of the students, as well as the requirements of the higher education field that they want to pursue. Students in this class come to a deeper understanding of knowledge, gained through active participation in the high school learning process. Interactive lessons are supported by experimental observation or detailed research. Therefore, students use a deeper level of learning through analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. Critical thinking is given priority and various evaluation techniques are used to help all students improve their learning abilities. In addition, students are prepared, through self-evaluation and orientation sessions, to choose the most suitable classes for their last year. This is the year where students finish their studies at the college. Students try to make a name for themselves at school through direct participation in decisions related to daily life at Mesrobian High School. Academically, they are implored to prepare to face two important challenges: first, to continue their studies at the college, and secondly to pass the official exam. The baccalaureate holders of the Mesrobian High School are admitted to the universities known in Lebanon and abroad. At the same time, our students' success rate at the official exam has always been remarkable.

The centrality of Christ: We are founded on Jesus Christ, the Redeemer who, through His Incarnation, is united with each person and is both the model and means for personal holiness. Community: We are a community of persons bound by the Catholic Faith who recognizes our school as an extension of family life's intimate atmosphere. Integral Education: We aim to develop the intellectual, physical, psychological, moral, and religious capabilities of every student. Truth: We seek to teach not merely knowledge but understanding, wisdom, and truth. Human beings can grasp the truth of things, and in grasping that truth, they can know their duties to God, themselves, and their neighbors. The academic program at St. Pius X seeks to meet the needs of all students. Through the testing program, counselor and teacher recommendations, and consultation with parents, students are placed in courses that take into consideration the course objectives and goals and the aspirations, academic skills, and emotional maturity of the student. Academic departments generally offer courses on three levels: AP- Advanced Placement, H- Honors, and CP- College Preparatory. Students are not placed at the same level in all subject areas. They are placed in different levels depending on their aptitude and performance in the various disciplines. The College Prep courses at St. Pius X are rigorous programs of study that prepare the students for competitive colleges' demands. College Prep courses accommodate student learning styles by using two teaching formats. Some College Prep courses require greater independence and more long term assignments. Others are more structured with daily homework assignments, frequent quizzes, and long term projects broken into several steps. It should be noted that most of these classes use the same textbook as other level classes. Honors and Advanced Placement courses are filled by invitation only. They are designed to meet students' needs who have a high level of responsibility, who are capable of independent work, and who possess highly-developed thinking skills. Students enrolled in these courses who do not continue to demonstrate these qualities will have their invitations withdrawn. FAITH - FAMILY - FUTURES, These are three pillars that the students and faculty exhibit at St. Pius X Catholic High School. We are founded in faith. Our Catholic faith is celebrated and has a strong identity that brings our students and faculty together. We have a family atmosphere. Our students and faculty genuinely care about one another. We have a joyful attitude called the Pius "pride". If you come to an event on campus, you will see our pride in action. We are focused on futures. Our goal is to provide a college-preparatory education to form the mind, body, and spirit of each student. We strive to lead our students into college and heaven. View full school

We witness and proclaim the Gospel message by educating young people in a spirit of love and justice. We complement the family and the Church's role in helping youth develop as responsible, moral, and productive global citizens. As we approach our 150th year of providing Catholic education in Solano County, it is appropriate to reflect on our school's proud history and significant accomplishments; however, we must also look to our beloved school's future. To build on our rich legacy, St. Patrick – St. Vincent Catholic High School recognizes the need to adapt and improve how we serve our community continually. To learn more about the five years Strategic Plan for the future of St. Patrick - St. Vincent Catholic High School, please view the Strategic Plan brochure. St. Patrick-St. Vincent Catholic High School evolved over a century from the Catholic Free School, established in 1870 by St. Vincent Ferrer parish in Vallejo. The first graduates received diplomas in 1880. The school was renamed St. Vincent Ferrer, affectionately known as "Saints," and remained a co-educational high school until June 1968, serving students from the greater Solano County (Benicia, Fairfield, Napa, Vacaville, and Vallejo) and from West Contra Costa County. At the urging of Monsignor Thomas Kirby, the Diocese of Sacramento opened the second school in September of 1968, St. Patrick High School for boys, at the current location on Benicia Road made St. Vincent Ferrer, an all-girls school. St. Patrick has enrolled the freshmen, sophomore, and junior boys from St. Vincent Ferrer, but the senior boys in the class of 1969 elected to stay and graduate with their female classmates. During the succeeding years, the two high schools shared social events and sometimes faculty and instructional resources. Eventually, they organized several co-ed athletic teams together. In 1983, the changing demographics of Solano County, the rising cost of Catholic education, and an expanding student body necessitated some long-range planning, and the decision was made to merge St. Patrick and St. Vincent High Schools as a co-ed school once again. The groundbreaking for a new classroom facility took place on October 18, 1986, and the school reopened in the fall of 1987 as St. Patrick-St. Vincent Catholic High School. View full school
  8. At St. Michael's Catholic Academy, we recognize that parents are the primary teachers of their children. We are fortunate that so many parents have entrusted us to act as their partners in this teaching journey. We appreciate and respect the sacred trust they have in us. We seek to honor our mission to prepare students for leadership, service, and decision making consistent with Catholic values. St. Michael's students begin the school day in a creative and challenging environment and end the day with various optional co-curricular activities, ranging from clubs to sports to service. Whether they participate in Robotics Club or join the Literary Magazine Club, students can forge strong friendships outside of the classroom - friendships based on similar interests and talents. St. Michael's is committed to being the best school it can be – fulfilling the mission promise to assist our students in growing in their faith lives, embrace learning, and give back to the local community and beyond through lives of service. St. Michael's Catholic Academy is a Christ-centered, college preparatory learning community, inspiring lives of service, courage, personal integrity, and intellectual curiosity. St. Michael's graduates will have acquired a solid foundation in the academic core of English, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, Theology, and World Languages. Each student will also have acquired an appreciation of the arts, proficiency in computer science, public speaking, and will have pursued individual interests through courses offered as electives. Centers of excellence have been established to supplement classroom instruction and further advance knowledge and skills, particularly in the critical areas of writing. The Writing Center is a place where students can work on refining their writing styles through better word choice, more sophisticated syntax, correct grammar reinforcement, and experiment with different types of writing. Our learning strategists are available to help students improve study, time management, organizational, and other critical skills. Individual tutoring is available in all areas as well. We strongly encourage our students to take advantage of these added benefits. St. Michael's is not only an exemplary college preparatory institution but also a "family of families." We enroll students who demonstrate the desire and ability to pursue a college preparatory program of studies and receptiveness to the various religious and Christian formation programs essential to St. Michael's mission. We are dedicated to educating the whole student: mind, body, and spirit. We support students' exploration of their individual and diverse potential, and we believe such exploration is the keystone for keeping the doors of possibility and opportunity open. We are a family of diverse students, engaged parents, accomplished and caring faculty, and committed staff, but our sense of community does not end there. In keeping with our Catholic values of service, we instill a broader understanding of community in our students – one that encompasses our local, national, and global families. We nurture self-expression and mastery of technique. Our teaching aims to increase overall aesthetic awareness and encourages creative solutions to real-life problems. 13. At Archbishop McGrath the education of our young people is an important building block of the society in which we live and an indication of the vision for that society to which we aspire. Our Catholic school is central to the Church’s mission. Unless a school has Christ at the very heart of all that it is and does, it cannot be a Catholic school. The ethos of our school is not something extrinsic to the various aspects of school life. Rather, the catholic ethos – and its concrete expression in liturgical prayer, assemblies, and teaching of religious education is fundamental to our school, giving true and lasting value. Throughout the life of the school, we seek to nurture and celebrate the success of every member of the school community. Both in the structure of the curriculum and the planning of learning activities, the school strives to respond to the learning needs of every person in the school. In that spirit, we believe in providing opportunities for all to contribute to the community of faith. We fully believe in the ideals of democracy, integrity, tolerance, and respect in harmony with the love of God, of self, and humankind, and we affirm the fundamental roles of parents and families as primary instruments of faith and education. We also believe in conscientiously reviewing and improving our college preparatory curriculum, educational goals, and performance objectives to sustain a learning process that encourages personal growth, faith development, and community involvement for the young women entrusted to our care. Educating the whole person-intellectually, physically, and spiritually- is the guiding premise of a Xavier education. These young women deserve the most competitive morally-grounded education possible. The curriculum is designed with young women in mind. The Xavier administration and faculty make curricular decisions that emphasize women. Female role models in History, other social sciences, literature, fine arts, science, and the Church are regularly brought into the curriculum. Attention to the cognitive and social development of girls maturing into young women is paramount. Xavier is committed to fostering excellence in academics and character in young women. Such attributes will serve them in high School, college, and adult life. The environment is less socially pressured than at co-ed schools. Xavier offers students numerous opportunities to become involved in their community and share in student activities and peer groups. 16. The College strives to provide students with a balanced and holistic education to equip them to live fulfilling and purposeful lives. At Nagle, the critical partnership is the one that exists between the student, family, and the school, with the fundamental goal being the success of the student. Great partnerships are built upon mutual respect, good communication, and an understanding of the importance of working together. The College motto, "For Others," encourages our students to explore the meaningful contribution their education will enable and empower them to make in their journey through life. The College has identified five values that draw inspiration from Venerable Nano Nagle and Blessed Edmund Rice. These values articulate the mission of Nagle Catholic College. The basis of the crest is the Celtic Cross. The cross is the most recognizable symbol of Christianity, and its basis is God's unconditional love for us. This Celtic form of the cross reminds us of the Irish origins of our founding Orders. The star represents Mary, Star of the Sea, patroness of Stella Maris College. The star was also the central device in the crest of St. Patrick's College. On 11 February 1994, Bishop Justin Bianchini commissioned Nagle Catholic College as a Catholic school within Geraldton's Diocese. While the life of the College formally commenced on that day, its story goes back a lot further – to 1891 when the Presentation Sisters opened Stella Maris College. Some thirty-five years later, in 1926, St. Patrick's College was opened by the Christian Brothers. For the ensuing sixty-eight years, these two boarding schools continued to cater to the educational needs of the young women and men of Geraldton and its surrounding areas. In the late 1980s, the two schools' authorities agreed that a combination of their efforts and resources would enable them to better cater to their students than would the maintenance of two separate schools. It was from that time that the planning of the new coeducational secondary boarding school began. This planning resulted in the opening of Nagle Catholic College, founded on the riches of the history and the traditions of the two good schools in which it has its foundations. From whom the College takes its name, Nano Nagle founded the Presentation Sisters in Ireland in 1775. Their work was to offer the girls education, formation, and care, which was available only to those of the higher reaches of society. Inspired by their work, Edmund Rice founded the Christian Brothers in 1808. From the start, the Presentation Sisters and the Christian Brothers worked closely together in the country of their foundation. Again, a century and a half later, the two Orders worked closely together worlds away from their foundations, to cater to the educational needs of the young people of Geraldton Diocese. So, in the name of Nagle Catholic College, the work of both founding Orders is remembered. The school's crest, too, provides an ongoing reminder of our ancestry and the continuing challenge that faces all connected with Nagle Catholic College. Our motto, 'For Others', reminds us that the challenge of all education is to educate young men and women whose mission in life is to develop their talents and abilities to be able to use them for the good of others. Our history, our crest, and our motto lay the foundation for the very challenging and exciting educational program for which Nagle Catholic College exists. View full school
  17. The Pázmány Péter Catholic University, which is one of the legal successors of the University that was established by Cardinal Péter Pázmány, archbishop of Esztergom, Primate of Hungary, in Nagyszombat on 12th May 1635, during the last more two decades, has got a prominent place in the Hungarian higher education system and has become a recognized partner of many universities and research centers on the national and international level. Moreover, it has become a member of several highly qualified research university networks. Our university'suniversity's conscious organizing activity was recognized by the state in 2013 when we received the title of National Excellence. What is that peculiar value which can be added to the generally known and existing secular university activity by a catholic university, in the World, particularly in Europe, especially in Central Europe? This is the loyalty toward our common Christian heritage, morality, and belief in the eternal truth, which can be recognized by humans. This is the one which motivates us to instruct and form the new generation, to proceed in the highly qualified scientific research, never forgetting the roots of our faith and the real goal of every scientific inquiry. Protection and transmission of this value are never outworn - even the opposite concept is argued many times - but current and fresh. Instruction is a natural part of the essential work of every University; however, the sources of the new facts which can enrich the teaching should be the results of fundamental research. The formation is not merely forming the mind by facts and theories. Therefore, moral and spiritual formation is an extraordinary responsibility for our University'sUniversity's participation in the challenge of the Church. If we understand this principle, our teaching can be much more authentic, and our students can feel more about their responsibility. Their preparation is in our hands, like in the 17th century, when Cardinal Péter Pázmány gave the youth a chance through a university's foundation among challenging contemporary social circumstances. According to the Apostolic Constitution Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the university functions and fulfills its ecclesiastical mission: "Since a Catholic University's objective is to assure a Christian presence institutionally in the university world confronting the significant problems of society and culture. (…) Therefore, a Catholic University is a place of research, where scholars scrutinize reality with the methods proper to each academic discipline, and so contribute to the treasury of human knowledge. Each discipline is studied systematically; moreover, the various disciplines are brought into dialogue for mutual enhancement. Besides this, the unique aims of PPCU are the following: the University is a scientific community that, through its strict and critical approach, promotes the protection and development of human dignity and cultural heritage by research, education, and other activities provided to the given national and international community especially in the field of theology and human sciences but as much as possible in the area of natural sciences as well. At the same time, the University has the mission to ensure the Catholic Faith's presence in the Hungarian culture and become one of the determining factors of the Catholic cultural life. It is a unique socio-political task of PPCU to present the Catholic view concerning individuals and the whole society. This approach's essence is the unconditioned acceptance of the objective value of human beings from their conception to their natural death. This view of society provides the opportunity to initiate new educational programs in the broadest spectrum possible, which can focus on the individual characteristics of the participants and, at the same time, can be appropriately personalized. This way, the Catholic education of experts' main aim is to mobilize individual capabilities for the service of the society and of every person. Naturally, this goal is closely linked to the phenomenon that appears within the Catholic education of experts: the education of the ''entire person'', which means that, beyond the intellectual and physical formation, the students'students' spiritual and moral development must also be of primary students studentsmány Péter Catholic University (PPCU) is a state-approved higher educational institution that is run by the Catholic Church and governed by the Hungarian Catholic Bishops'Bishops' Conference. The Congregation of the Catholic Education of the Apostolic Holy See in its decree n° 1151 (on 25th November 1999) declared that Pázmány University had been established and approved directly by the Holy See. The University has a legal entity both in the legal system of the Catholic Church and that of the State of Hungary. In the Catholic Church, the institution is regarded as an official ecclesiastical legal entity. PPCU forms a unique segment of the Hungarian higher education as a non-regional institution with national coverage and as the only single University of the Hungarian Catholic higher education, a member of an international research university network. Our University was founded in 1635 and had been continuously operating ever since. During the Ottoman occupation, the most tragic years of our country'scountry's history, Archbishop of Esztergom Péter Pázmány established the University, which proved to be of epochal significance in the history of education and religious culture in Hungary. He was convinced that the University was the only way to guarantee the survival of the nation'snation's moral and intellectual culture. The University he founded adopted both his intellectual heritage and his name. The University was moved to Buda from Nagyszombat (now Trnava) by Maria Theresa. In the spirit of the 1848 reforms, the University became a modern and autonomous educational center. After a short period when its self-governance was limited by Habsburg absolutism, it regained its previous rights in 1860. By the beginning of the 20th century, it became one of the World'sWorld's finest universities. In 1921, after World War, I's grisly calamities and the restrictions imposed on it by the Hungarian Soviet Republic, the "Royal Hungarian University of Science" in Budapest was once again named after its founder Péter Pázmány. It bore his name until 1950 when the communist state restructured the University by separating the Faculties of Medicine and Theology and changed the remaining institution's name to "Eötvös Loránd University of Sciences." In 1993 the Hungarian Parliament registered Pázmány Péter Catholic University (and the Faculty of Humanities) as a university accredited by the state. We currently have five faculties: the Faculty of Theology, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, the Faculty of Information Technology, and the Postgraduate Institute of Canon Law, which also has faculty status. In proposing minimum curriculum requirements for Learning Areas within Catholic schools, it is critical to note that every curriculum area has a religious and a social, emotional dimension a capacity to assist students in examining the world of human culture and the world of religion, providing knowledge and skills through an active process, and fostering attitudes and values that are life-giving and that assist young people in searching for meaning and truth. All Queensland children are eligible to attend full-time Prep from the beginning of the school year in which they will reach the age of 5 years by 30 June. 19. Since its founding in 1425, UCL has both reached out to the world and invited it in. Through student exchanges, hosting international professors and researchers, interuniversity partnerships, participation in European and global networks, and a long tradition of cooperation in international development, UCL has exerted influence throughout the world for nearly 600 years. UCL is a stabilizing force in an uncertain world. It prioritizes universal access to high-quality education and makes innovation the governing principle of its activities, teaching as much as in research. It creates synergies between its involvement in regional development and its international influence, enabling them to fuel each other. Its research reveals the complexity and provides perspective in a world that emphasizes the here and now. In June 2015, university authorities approved ‘Louvain 2020’, a strategic plan to guide UCL to the end of the decade. Designed with input from throughout the university, the plan addresses several areas, including high-quality course offerings, improving the university’s ranking as a research institution, reinforcing internationalization, intensifying regional cooperation, developing the ‘digital university,’ and promoting universal equality. The values on which UCL’s vision is based are openness to others and differences, solidarity, freedom, and respect. Faculty enjoy academic freedom enshrined in the constitution, specifically, freedom of thought in the pursuit of truth arrived scientifically and free from the undue influence of current trends. UCL is a cosmopolitan and intellectual human space whose diversity stimulates encounters between people of different backgrounds and with the world itself in the spirit of rational discussion and mutual enrichment. Its Christian tradition is a living heritage, a driving force of an authentic pluralism that benefits and respects all people regardless of their beliefs. UCL’s international involvement is not about mere statistics – numbers of exchanges, international students, and staff. It is about placing its openness to the world at the heart of the university’s missions. Indeed, teaching our students to think and act in both today’s and tomorrow’s worlds is to make them aware of and open to other cultures and to endow them with the ability to communicate and collaborate in an international and intercultural context. Innovating in research, education, and serving society – the university’s three primary missions – is to understand what is going on elsewhere in the world and think differently to find solutions. Built on the foundation of Christ and through the teaching of Gospel values, we develop the whole child in a setting that has an understanding and appreciation of all faiths. Inspired by Pope Francis we endeavor to 'light a fire in the hearts of our children, empowering them to make a real difference in our diverse, ever-changing society. It's reinforced in the schools we have quite a several Muslim children in the little school of the Holy Family, because demographically that's where the Muslims live and they come along, and again, the children share in the prayers. They get on well. The mission is really to be a presence here a catholic presence to draw people together - it'll be a shrinking presence to some extent because the old community is dying off. But hopefully, the blend of the different peoples will make the community a richer place." Holy Family is truly a special place where we celebrate cultural diversity, children from different faiths and backgrounds come together to 'live, love, and learn together in the light of God.' We are a small community family we take enormous pride in knowing all of our children very well and are fully committed to ensuring that each child is offered the finest start to their education in a warm, caring, and loving environment. We are proud of the partnership that we have between home, school, and parish to provide the very best education that we can for the children in our care. We have excellent relationships with our current parents and are keen to build on existing links to further benefit the education of the children in our family.

Our dedicated staff forges warm relationships with children and parents, and we seek to provide a happy, supportive environment where our Catholic mission is lived each day. We enjoy high standards academically, but we place the greatest value on inculcating the Christian virtues initiated at home and developed through a strong partnership. Building on children’s innate capabilities, we ensure full participation in all aspects of learning, irrespective of capability, and this is nowhere more evident than in the school’s provision for sport. Children – when they enter key stage two, represent the school across a range of sports and participate competitively at borough and national levels. In addition to the teaching of Religious Education, Literacy, Numeracy, and Science, we pride ourselves on the use of drama the school’s musical provision the teaching of Spanish, and the exploration of “Forest Schools”, which is our newest initiative. The children here are encouraged to have a voice and to steer school improvement, especially those directly relating to playtimes. The re-design of the playground is a current project being led by the children. At Holy Ghost School, working in partnership with parents to help fulfill their baptismal promises, we seek to affirm Christ through whom, and for whom all of us were made. Therefore learning will be: A joyful celebration of God’s creation. A lasting source of radiance and wonder. A steadfast quest for truth. Encouraging a thirst for learning and an appreciation that it is a life-long pursuit guided by the spirit and the presence of Christ, in the service of God and others. To encourage inter-personal relationships which Value the variety of gifts, qualities, and contributions made by each individual. Celebrate the achievements of each and all. Foster mutual respect between all regardless of age, gender, race, capability, or occupation. Appreciate the communities of which each is part: the family, the school, the parish, the local community, and the wider national and international communities. Motivate each to play an active role in these communities To develop and maintain a constant sense of Being created by God for some definite purpose. Wonder in discovery. Fulfillment and reward in learning and achievement. Deep satisfaction in achieving a harmonious balance between dynamic creativity and reflective thought. Activities are divided into seven aspects, including environmental sounds, instrumental sounds, body sounds, rhythm and rhyme, alliteration, voice sounds, and finally oral blending and segmenting. Learning 19 letters of the alphabet and one sound for each. Blending sounds to make words. Segmenting words into their separate sounds. Beginning to read simple captions. The remaining 7 letters of the alphabet, one sound for each. Graphemes such as ch, oo, th representing the remaining phonemes not covered by single letters. Reading captions, sentences, and questions. On completion of this phase, children will have learned the "simple code", i.e. one grapheme for each phoneme in the English language. Children are regularly assessed in their phonics knowledge and work at the phase that is appropriate for them. Towards the end of Year 1, children are formally assessed through the statutory ‘Phonics Screening Test’. In Key Stage 2, spelling strategies are taught 2-3 times a week, alternating with grammar teaching. Phonics teaching continues into Key Stage2. Throughout the school children are given additional support as necessary to develop their phonic understanding and spelling skills. Spellings taught include homophones, letter patterns, suffixes, prefixes, silent syllables, tricky words, topic words, and children’s own misspelled words.

SMSVC is a central aspect for our school as 'through faith and education we seek to achieve the fullness of life for all members of our community and the world in which we live, as God's people. We are bombarded from an early age with noise, stimulus, and messages to keep busy. Jesus says, ‘Unless you become like a little child, you cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven.’ Through the teaching of Christian Meditation, Holy Cross School aims to provide our children, parents, and staff with space for stillness, and silence, and simplicity.
