The educational institution began its history in 1940 when the Lutsk State Teachers' Institute was established. One hundred thirty-five first-year-students were enrolled in the institute. There were four faculties at the institute: the Faculty of Philology with the departments of Ukrainian and Russian Studies, the Physics and Mathematics Faculty, the Faculty of Natural Science and Geography, and the Faculty of Distance Learning. Methodological, material, and technical resources of the institute were insufficient. The institute was located on the outskirts of Lutsk in the building of the former orphan house built in 1929 (today there is a boarding-school there). There were shortages of equipment, books as well as teacher shortage. However, classrooms and laboratories were gradually equipped, and libraries were stocked with related materials. The Poltava Pedagogical Institute helped with those problems a lot. Ivan Sokur was appointed the first president of the Lutsk State Teachers' Institute. The work of the institute was interrupted by World War II in 1941 but resumed in 1946. In September 1951, the Lutsk State Teachers' Institute was re-established as the State Pedagogical Institute, which a year later was granted the use of the name of Lesya Ukrainka. At that time, the institute had only two faculties: the Faculty of History and the Humanities and the Physics and Mathematics Faculty. But at the beginning of the 1990s, there were already nine faculties at the institute. In May 1964, sports and recreational camps for students and lecturers were established at Lake Svityaz, which were forerunners of the "Hart" sports and recreational camp. Lesia Ukrainka Eastern European National University's material and technical resources include 13 educational buildings, six hostels, a preventative clinic, a student's base "Hart" (Lake Svitiaz), the stadium with a modern covering of the playground and treadmills, two botanical gardens, agrobiostation. The university is proud of the artistic groups of the Institute of Arts, which are known not only in the region and Ukraine but also in other countries, especially male vocal quartet «Akord,» Sandhurst trio «Dyvostruny,» folk instruments ensemble «Dzherela,» song and dance ensemble «Rozmai,» vocal octet «Double voice,» instrumental ensemble «Ekspromt.» There is no doubt that our university is an example of a classical learning institution. It was recognized by the authoritative commission that accredited it with the highest IV level rating. East European University of Economics and Management was founded in Cherkasy in September 1992. Willing to create an alternative higher educational institution, progressive scientists united their forces to achieve a common purpose. Having broad experience of work at a higher educational institution and vast experience of practical activity, they became the founders of the first private higher educational institution in Cherkasy. At present, the study process is carried out within five faculties: the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Ecology and Environmental Protection, the Faculty of Economic Sciences, the Faculty of International Relations and Socio-Human Sciences, and the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences, which capitalize democratic and modern principles linked to national, European and international legislative documents. In this context, our university's purpose is to respond to specialists' primordial needs with a high, academic, and competitive moral weight. During the 20 years of activity, USPEE "Constantin Stere" demonstrated steadiness, professionalism, and quality. Since its first steps, the institute has promoted a performance education policy geared to the standards and values of the modern democratic society, thus attempting to contribute to the formation of a new generation of professional researchers, opinion leaders, and public officials, able to take responsibility for the transition to the democratic form of organization in our country. Southeast European University (SEEU) is a private, public, not for profit higher education institution, consisting of faculties, centers, and institutes as its integral part, specialized in socio-economic sciences. SEEU Faculties are organizational units within the University and operate through the Faculty Council and University policy framework approved by the University Board or Executive Committee. SEEU has five faculties: Faculty of Contemporary Sciences and Technologies, Faculty of Languages, Cultures, and Communication, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Public Administration and Political Science, and Faculty of Business and Economics. Following the adoption of the Law on Higher Education by the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia, that allowed the founding of universities that are not related to the state and supported higher education in the Albanian language. In late 2000, OSCE High Commissioner for National Minorities started the planning of the University. Construction work started in March 2001, and southeast European University (SEEU) was opened six months later. In November 2002, the number of students was 2250, and in October 2003, the number of students was 3700. In October 2001, it established itself as a quality-led, financially sustainable university by opening its campus in Tetovo. It is now regarded as a model for multi-ethnic, multilingual higher education in southeast Europe. Moreover, it has successfully combined the best European and US experience and has continued to benefit from academic collaborations sponsored by the EU Commission and USAID, among other donors. It benefits from scholarship support provided by The Netherlands and The Open Society Institute. Its history, which you can read in 'About the University', is a fascinating account of how SEEU has reached this position of strength against a background of political and economic uncertainties in the region. Now SEEU reaches out to other institutions in promoting research collaboration, exchange of students and staff, and its community. The History of The European University –Republic of Macedonia begins with the foundation of The Faculty of Social Sciences in 2001. The activities at The European University were recognized on 01.06.2005 when accredited by The Accreditation Board of the Republic of Macedonia. At the beginning of 2009, The European University - Republic of Macedonia made an elaborate application of the solutions and the provisions of the new act for high education. EUR opts for quality to apply the best practices from the higher education system in its performance. As a result, EURM has become a member of IACBE in 2005, and after fulfilling all necessary conditions, on 04.08.2005, it was granted the status of a candidate for accreditation. Following the IACBE principles, EURM has developed an Outcomes assessment plan as a basis for the evaluation process in the academic year 2006/2007. The immediate accomplishment of the administrative, organizational, and current activities connected with studying is made through The Student's Affairs Office. The registration and the enrollment of the students are done through this Service, i.e., the documents needed for enrollment are delivered to this Service. The direction and the control of the regularity, the directness, the technical organization and the regularity of these activities are an immediate obligation of this Service and also other like registering of partial exams, exams, scientific papers, Bachelor of Art Thesis, MA Thesis, and Ph.D. Thesis, registering and regulating terms, acquiring confirmations, certificates and other appropriate documents which are necessary for the students, accomplishment of the communication in order to receive explanations, precise answers and concrete questions and relations. The Service works throughout the whole day, functions according to separate and specific activities, i.e., studying groups, years, and directions, i.e., the cycle of studies and concrete activities (submitting applications, requests, forms for registering exams and documents). Investing in knowledge is considered to be long-term. The European University, tending to educate students who will be capable of incorporating themselves in all social life structures in the Republic of Macedonia, offers its library, equipment, and other resources. Currently, the University has two wholly equipped libraries. The libraries are designed as a modern library and informational centers. There is a possibility of merging into a library-information system through the central University library. Foreign language is a challenge that has always has been a critical problem for humanities. It is necessary for students to exercise their professional life in a multilingual world and is also essential to accessing cultural meaning through the spoken and written word – the doorways to interdisciplinary and international understanding and knowledge. The basis of foreign language courses in EHU should be a strategy "to write, to read, to speak," and vice versa, "to speak, to read, to write," which will provide access to humanities texts in foreign languages, where the primary role today belongs to the English language. Regardless of the level of language proficiency at the time of enrollment, EHU students have the opportunity to improve their English language skills by two levels up within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Besides, EHU students can practice their English during regular international meetings, educational events with the participation of foreign specialists, and communicating with students of exchange programs. Starting from the third year of studies, part of the EHU courses are taught in English, allowing students to expand their usage of a foreign language in academic and professional contexts. Additionally, the English language for particular purposes is included in the curriculum. In these courses, the students get a more in-depth insight into the professional terminology. The knowledge of specific professional English terms makes EHU students more competitive in the international labor market.

The Secondary school opened in September 2014 with Years S1-S3. We now offer secondary education up to and including S6. New year groups are opened annually, culminating in our first European Baccalaureate in summer 2019. Secondary education in the European Schools lasts for a total of seven years, divided into three cycles: The Observation Cycle S1-S3, The Pre Orientation Cycle S4-S5, The Orientation Cycle S6-S7. At ESH, we aim to provide a modern, stimulating, and relaxed learning environment. Our ethos and educational philosophy are to create and nurture multicultural, multilingual, responsible, tolerant, and aware European citizens. The European Schools have the two objectives of providing formal education and encouraging pupils’ personal development in a broader social and cultural context. Formal education involves the acquisition of competencies – knowledge, skills, and attitudes across various domains. Personal development takes place in a variety of spiritual, moral, social, and cultural contexts. It involves an awareness of appropriate behavior, an understanding of the environment in which pupils live, and their identity development. These two objectives are nurtured in the context of an enhanced awareness of the richness of European culture. Awareness and experience of a shared European life should lead pupils towards greater respect for the traditions of each country and region in Europe while developing and preserving their own national identities. The syllabuses in all the language sections of the European Schools, including the European School The Hague, are – except for mother tongue – identical, and the same standards are insisted on. All programs of study in the different sections lead to the same examination: the European Baccalaureate. To ensure that the European Baccalaureate is recognized, syllabuses are designed to meet the minimum requirements of all the member states. Since these vary, the contents have been established by negotiation between national experts – more particularly by the members of the Boards of Inspectors – based on scrutiny and comparison of national curricula. The Joint Teaching Committee then approves the syllabuses of the European Schools, the pedagogical supervisory authority. The following text is taken from the document “New structure for all syllabuses in the European Schools" system” 2011-09-D-47-en-3. The European Schools have the two objectives of providing formal education and of encouraging pupils’ personal development in a broader social and cultural context. Early Years and Primary education at our school consist of two years of the Early Years cycle and five years of the Primary cycle. The Primary school has five language sections: English, Dutch, Spanish, French, and German. Our SWALS pupils (Students Without A Language Section) are placed in the language section of one of the official vehicular languages: English, German, French, or the host country language (Dutch). ESH also currently offers Italian, Greek, Slovenian, Polish, and Finnish mother tongue tuition. At the ESH, the youngest and oldest pupils in the Early Years classes work together in a mixed group. In this way, the pupils learn from each other and with one another. There are also combined year group classes in the Spanish language section due to the lower number of pupils in a year group in the school. Pupils take the majority of the subjects in their language section but encourage playing and learning together and facilitating the children in making friends with children from the other sections at a young age. Several lessons are organized in mixed language groups. In the Primary cycle, these mixed groups occur during PE, Music, Art, and European Hours lessons. In the Early Years, pupils have combined activities during Friendship Zone. The basis for our school curriculum is the established curriculum of the European Schools. All curriculum documents can be on the official website of the European Schools (www.eursc.eu). All pupils in the English, French, German and Spanish language sections also receive lessons in Dutch as a foreign language. As there is no official curriculum for Dutch as a foreign language within the European Schools curriculum, we have developed a curriculum available below. At ESH, our children and families are warmly welcomed into a specialized learning environment that supports the play and Learning of the Early Years children, before the children enter the Primary section of the school. It is a multi-cultural, multi-lingual community that enables the children to play and learn alongside different languages and cultures in a community spirit. The Early Years curriculum is play-based, aiming to facilitate learning the knowledge and skills and experiences required by the children for the formal curriculum that they will follow in the Primary cycle. The Early Years classes are co-located so that the children can play and mingle together indoors and outdoors in the playground. Children lunch together in the canteen and classes join together for unique visitors or excursions to places of interest that support their Learning. There is also ‘Friendship Zone’ where the children focus and share Learning and play in mixed cultural groups. Young children learn through experimentation, exploration, and play where subject areas are not separated. Early Learning is a fundamental part of life-long learning. Play is the highest form of research and the brain’s favorite way of Learning. All children are born as creative beings learning through their senses curious about the world and keen to experiment and discover new things. Play helps children socialize, wonder, think, feel, and make sense of the world around them. At ESH, holistic teaching and Learning occur through play with hands-on experiences, exciting, creative, and engaging learning environments, numerous materials and resources, and passionate Early Years Teachers and Teaching Assistants. Besides the Early Years class teachers and teacher assistants, the children have specialist teachers for PE, Music, and Mother Tongue. The school has a Support Section with specialist expertise to support the Early Years children when necessary. Parent support and involvement in the Early Years is valued. Each class has one or two Parent representatives who coordinate and support the class activities during the year. Parents and grandparents often offer support by visiting the class to help with cooking or reading activities, sharing individual items from home, or coming in to talk to the children about an interest, hobby, or job. These home and school links are valuable in supporting the social, emotional, and cognitive development of the children. The collaborative relationship between home and school is vital for the success of each child’s well-being and Learning. Young children benefit significantly from the close understanding, clear communication, and the respectful, supportive relationship between home and school.

Founded in 1994 with the active support of the city of St. Petersburg, the European University began operating as an elite graduate school in the social sciences and humanities in 1996. From its inception, the mission of EUSP has been to meet the needs of Russian social development by training a new generation of teachers and scholars in the best Russian and Western traditions. The European University is one of only a few non-state universities fully qualified by the Ministry of Education to award advanced graduate degrees. Over some 20 years, EUSP has gained an international reputation for its faculty's superb scholarship and the training of Russia's best and brightest graduate students at the highest international levels. EUSP faculty and staff are also regularly invited as expert consultants by the Russian Federation Public Chamber, the Ministry of Economic Development, and the Ministry of Education and Science. The University is also actively involved with the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Petersburg Dialogue Forum, and the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum. The International MA in Russian Studies is the ONLY permanent program at the graduate level in Russia that offers degrees in sociology, political science, and cultural studies to students from North America, Europe, and Asia (about 50 students annually). Both international and Russian students enjoy the advantages of studying in a truly international setting. USP is a decisive agent of innovation and change, introducing and disseminating new standards and practices in the Russian educational system. EUSP's educational programs are popular amongst talented graduates of Russian universities, who currently hail from fifty-four Russian regions and amongst graduates of foreign universities (mainly in Western Europe and North America). Established in the Swiss mountains in 1994 by a non-profit foundation, The European Graduate School / EGS comprises two divisions: Arts, Health Society (AHS) and Philosophy, Art Critical Thought (PACT). The OHS Division, founded by Paolo Knill, centers on the expressive arts, specifically addressing coaching, therapy, education, conflict transformation, and peacebuilding. Founded by Wolfgang Schirmacher, the PACT Division (formerly Media Communication) addresses, as its title suggests, philosophy, art, and critical thought, and within those fields, architecture, film, literature, digital design, music, psychoanalysis, and political thought. Together, the two divisions compose a unique and diverse community of artists, theorists, scholars, and practitioners, making the EGS one of Europe's most critical sites for ethical, socio-political, philosophical, psychological, and artistic inquiry. Known as the "Pearl of the Alps," Saas-Fee is located near the Matterhorn of Wallis (Valais). Surrounded by thirteen mountains, it is the main village in the Saastal or the Saas Valley and a municipality in Visp's district within the canton of Wallis (Valais) in Switzerland. Its location close to the glaciers of the Dom and the Allalinhorn, along with its neighboring mountain peaks, such as the Weissmies, the Nadelhorn, and the Lenzspitze, have made Saas-Fee an attractive destination in the Swiss Alps with recreational opportunities throughout the year, including skiing, carving, snowshoe trekking, mountain climbing, canyon climbing, and ice climbing. German playwright Carl Zuckmayer (Der fröhliche Weinberg, Der Hauptmann von Köpenick, Des Teufels General) lived in Saas-Fee 1958 until he died in 1977. It has also been the home to The European Graduate School / EGS since its inception in 1994, inspiring its students and faculty who convene throughout the summer at the Steinmatte classrooms up the hill from the small village. The Hotel Allalin, located in the sunny "Lomatte," is the principal reception place for The European Graduate School / EGS. The hotel has been in the Zurbriggen family for three generations and is currently owned and operated by Sabrina and Eva Zurbriggen. The hotel and family are known for their services and the warm and inviting atmosphere they create. In partnership with the EGS, the Hotel Allalin provides students with exceptional rates of approximately CHF 128.00 per day either in hotel rooms or nearby apartments, including lodging, three meals per day, and internet access. The hotel also offers reduced rates for family members or friends visiting students or faculty during the summer seminar programs. All lodgings are located in or near (no more than 600 meters) the Hotel Allalin. Both single and double rooms are available in the hotel and the apartments. Although apartment floor plans vary, all of the rooms meet high-quality standards. Please note: typically, the apartments are not equipped with telephones, hairdryers, alarm clocks, voltage adapters, or minibars/refrigerators. The hotel may provide some of these amenities upon request, but they are limited, so please be sure to pack your adapters. Some apartments are equipped with kitchens or kitchenettes. If this is the desired option for your stay, please make your requests well in advance. All meals for both faculty and students are served at the Hotel Allalin. The hotel provides three meals a day and can accommodate vegetarians and vegans. Additionally, the hotel provides a limited number of gluten-free options. Unfortunately, the hotel cannot accommodate individual food allergies. If you have a food allergy, please address your situation directly with the hotel. You may request a kitchen/kitchenettes or inquire if a particular food plan is available that meets your dietary needs. Accidents and illnesses requiring medical attention can be costly. We encourage all EGS students to make the appropriate arrangements for health insurance coverage from their home countries well in advance of their departure. It has recommended that you speak to your healthcare provider between four and six weeks before your time of travel so that your immunization history, personal health, and planned activities can all be considered to determine what is needed for your trip. Be sure to indicate all travel destinations to your healthcare provider so that they can inform you of the necessary vaccinations and health advisories in effect. If your home health insurance policy does not cover you abroad, there are many short-term and long-term travel insurance policies available from numerous providers. Please keep in mind that access to, and the legality of, medicine and prescription medicine varies from country to country. Therefore, make sure that you have an adequate amount of your prescription medicine(s) to last the duration of your trip. It is recommended to keep them in their original packaging and bring them in your carry-on baggage. If they include liquids, consult the security guidelines of your airline.
