Implanted on a retroceded site, dating from 1864, the CUB has also benefited from a program of development and extension of educational infrastructures (amphitheater, laboratory, etc ...). It was not until September 8, 1981, that the CUB opened its doors to the students of the wilayates of Blida, Media, Chlef, Djelfa, and in the South of the country. As part of this historic re-entry, the number of students enrolled was 526, with a teaching staff of 57, including 17 foreign students. Second step: In 1984-1985, when the university card was applied, the CUB broke up in the National Institute of Higher Education. "The Institute's objectives, within the framework of the National Plan for Economic and Social Development, are to provide courses in graduation and post-graduation, Contribute to the development of scientific and technical research, Undertake any development and retraining in its field of activity, Ensure publication of studies and research results. With the application of the university card devoting the National Institute of Higher Education, Blida is found with six structures: Institute of Mechanics, Institute of Architecture, Institute of Electronics, Institute of Agronomy, Institute of Industrial Chemistry, and Institute of Aeronautics. The cumulative number of students enrolled about the academic year 1981- 1982 experienced a growth noticed since they have been multiplied by 10 times. The structure of the distribution by sector group shows a trend towards a reinforcement of the technology concerning the other training courses, there is a relative stabilization (competition conditions of access, etc. Evolution of the pedagogical framework The appeal to foreign teachers as a supplement to student supervision has been considerably reduced since the establishment of the Blida University Center in 1981, as shown in the table below. Co-operation in the field of education is directed mainly by the sending of high-level grades, among others, professors, lecturers, etc., concerning the succession of the grades of assistant teachers, it will be completely completed, Of post-graduation. The rate of Algerianization is 96 %. Third step: The University Complex of Blida was set up as a University in August 1989. A seventh Institute opens its doors. These are The Institute of Medical Sciences. The opening of several other departments allows the University to modify its decree of creation in 1992/1993. Four other Institutes strengthen the structures of the young university: Institute of Veterinary Sciences, Institute of Exact Sciences, Institute of Juridical and Administrative Sciences, Institute of Economic Sciences, Decree 95/204 of 5 August 1995 brings the number of Institutes to twelve. - Created in 1978 in a spirit of innovation and constant quest for excellence, Ferhat Abbas Sétif University 1 has become over the years a major player and a development driver essential for the region. Open to its socio-economic environment and because of its nature as a center dedicated to science and technology, UFAS1 is still committed to a clear and global vision that takes into account the strategic weight of the region in the development of the country at all levels and the great potential of the university. Sétif University Center was created by Executive Decree No.78-133 of April 9, 1978, to host 242 students spread out over three Institutes (Economics, Exact Sciences and Technology, and Foreign Languages). In 1984, the University Center witnessed the creation of several National Institutes of Higher Education (INES) having administrative and financial autonomy. In 1989, the INESs were merged to form an establishment having the status of a University. Since October 17, 1992, the university has been proudly bearing the name of the late Ferhat Abbas, a well-known figure of the national movement and first president of the Provisional Government of the Algerian Republic (GPRA). During the academic year 1999/2000 and following the reorganization of the institutes into faculties, Ferhat Abbas University has counted 06 Faculties. Since 2005, Ferhat Abbas University has gradually adopted the LMD system. Since January 12, 2010, after a new restructuring, our university is made up of 8 Faculties and 2 Institutes. Like other universities and higher education institutions, Ferhat Abbas Sétif University 1 is today called to improve, on one hand, the quality of its programs to increase the graduates’ skills and qualifications and, on the other hand, to engage in user research for the benefit of the socio-economic sector, which is expected to increase its job offerings in particular for managers. How to achieve these two goals in a relatively short time? is the question that the new management of UFAS1 has attempted to answer. Recognizing that this public university is facing a phenomenon of massive enrollment and it will continue to host a large number of students over the next few years, the new management team is trying to put in place a development strategy that takes into account both the previous constraint and the strengths of this university. A first approach was then made at the MENA Countries Conference organized by the World Bank in Beirut on May 12-14, 2015 during which a presentation of the first draft of this strategy has been made. The mission of the University as well defined by the Higher Education Orientation Act is built around economic, social, and cultural development through the training of professional staff and technology transfer to its environment. On the ground, the situation is quite different. Indeed, its main role is limited to academic knowledge dissemination and issuing degrees and diplomas. This situation has led to a total disconnection of the university from its socio-economic environment. The university must now change the strategy to not be limited to knowledge transfer but to include a know-how transfer (skills and qualifications) which is a guarantee of students’ employability. The university must produce skilled graduates necessary for the smooth functioning of the economic and social system to contribute to the improvement of employability and the exploitation of research results. In the same way, academic scientific research, carried out so far, is practically academic. Scientific production is valued only inside the university through doctoral programs and the career development of faculty. Moving from this rationale of separation to a rationale of openness to the socio-economic environment is more than a necessity. The results of the research must be valued "otherwise" to have an extension to the socio-economic sector through added value to having a positive impact on citizens. View full university

- Since its founding on August 1st, 2000 Stanislaw Staszic University of Applied Sciences in Piła has become an important part of our cities landscape, and though this is a short period, various consequential or even revolutionary socio-political changes have taken place in our country in this time. The changes had a profound effect on social and political life, the economy developed on new market rules, and we have been learning democracy as well as self-government. Increasingly, we have been taking responsibility not only for our local society but also for the whole nation. The demands of that rapid and complex process were also knowledge, qualified and competent staff, which could more active and in larger number contribute to the progressive changes in our country that occurred in all areas of social and political life, economy, culture together with science and education. Amongst the consequences of the changes, also higher education developed rapidly, and the newly implemented Bologna system allowed the creation of two new higher education sectors in Poland: private schools and state vocational schools. The significance and influence of higher education institutions on our cities development were noticed, thus the authorities provided conditions for the creation of prestigious university branches mainly from Poznań, but also Bydgoszcz, Szczecin, or Słupsk. At the end of the 1990s local government authorities and members of parliament together with a group of community workers decided to work towards creating a locally based higher education institution in Piła. Due to their determination and support of scientists from universities in Poznań, Bydgoszcz, Szczecin, Koszalin, and Słupsk, the efforts brought effects in the form of a legal act (Dz.U. 2000 nr 61 poz. 706) issued by the Republic of Poland government on July 18th, 2000 erecting the State School of Higher Vocational Education in Piła. From the very beginning we were aware of our responsibility in achieving and maintaining high education standards, creating proper relations with authorities, city and region community, undertaking activities that would be beneficial for the Institution, and finally for the important mission of aiding the further development of the local community and city creation. Those issues have been taken into consideration in the conceptualization process of our Institution's mission and future growth. We have always emphasized the importance of applicable preparation of our graduates as well as their active participation in the process of developmental region changes. We would also like our students to cope with the challenges of the XXI century, to be competent and equal competitors with graduates of other Polish and foreign higher education institutions. Graduates are representatives of our Institution, and we are proud of them to be such a good representation. They easily find themselves in various positions in the city or region and continue their studies attending master's degree studies at prestigious universities. They run their own business, start doctoral studies and get involved in educational work in our Institution. We are glad that the students of Stanislaw Staszic University of Applied Sciences in Pila enhance our city culturally and educationally. They take part in a variety of cultural happenings, organize yearly student carnival, and numerous sports, entertainment, and science events. They want the events to be open to the public and are happy to invite children, youth from primary and secondary schools, and residents of the city. They realize the importance of good relationships with the community, authorities and bring their youthful enthusiasm to it. The city has its locally based Higher Education Institution that educates yearly more than 2000 students within 12 different fields of study. The graduates actively participate in the city and region life contributing to its better future. Stanislaw Staszic University of Applied Sciences in Piła became an important institution in the region, and together with local government authorities participates in many current undertakings thus defining developmental perspectives of Piła and whole Northern Great Poland (Wielkopolska). We live in a symbiosis taking care of the city, region, and Institution wealth. We appreciate the constant and definite help that the Institution gets from authorities and a group of friends from the different environments of the city and regional community. The Strategy of Internationalization of Stanisław Staszic University of Applied Sciences in Piła (later PWSZ in Piła) for years 2014-2020 has been established under act no. X/58/19 of PWSZ’s Senate on May 9th, 2013, in the matter of passing the strategy of internationalization at PWSZ in Piła together with: Declaration on the EU Policy at PWSZ in Piła and Declaration on Language Policy at PWSZ in Piła. In 2016 the Senate at PWSZ in Piła reassessed the existing strategy of internationalization and decided to adjust it to the actual needs of the Institution. The current strategy became effective with the Senate resolution, no. VI/37/17 dated 26 January 2017 in the matter of adopting the Internationalization Strategy at PWSZ in Piła for years 2017-2021 (attachment of the resolution). Internationalization is one of the biggest challenges that tertiary education needs to face, either in Poland or worldwide. The Ministry of Science and Higher Education defined the process as not only taking up studies by international students, but also employing an academic staff from abroad, and organizing staff mobilities within international educational and research programs. Internationalization means also gaining and exchanging knowledge and experience. Finally, it means participation in the international programs of student and staff mobility, such as Erasmus+ and Fullbright. View full university

- The first Poznan academic school, known as the Lubransky Academy was created in 1519. Four hundred years later, a university in Poznan, called the Piast University, was founded. Its name derived from the first Polish royal dynasty. The Pharmaceutical Department was formed in 1919 and a year later the Faculty of Medicine was founded within it. The Chair of Dentistry was created in 1929. The first Dean of the Faculty of Medicine was Professor Adam Wrzosek, a brilliant scholar and organizer of academic institutions.
