RAKMHSU is the First Comprehensive Health Science University in UAE under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and Supreme Council Member, United Arab Emirates, who is also the Chancellor of the University. Now, in addition to the MS in Adult Health Nursing (MSN), MS in Clinical Pharmacy, we also have MS in Pediatric Nursing, MS in Community Health Nursing, MS in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing, MS in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, MS in Pharmaceutics and Pharm.D, programs after due accreditation. It is also heartening to see our Nursing and Pharmacy Graduates getting placements in different hospitals and industries immediately after graduation. It is also satisfying to note that our students have done well in some of the external qualifying examinations and have done well in both Dubai Health Care and Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD) Examinations. RAKMHSU continues to improve the teaching-learning, including clinical teaching. It is noteworthy to mention that more than 40% of our students are recipients of merit scholarships from either Sheikh Saqr foundation for Excellence or through other Government and NGO organizations. Further, most of our students who participate in various conferences both within RAKMHSU and outside receive several awards, including Sports awards. Looking at the progress made in the last nine years, RAKMHSU continued to focus on student satisfaction. It is very gratifying to see that the ratings based on the IRO feedback have seen a consistent improvement from as low as 2.50 out of 5 – to – 4.51 out of 5 in the different services like Academic Advising, Admissions, Examinations, Student Services, Finance & HR, IT facilities, Library, and other services. With the University Management System's implementation, the University's functioning has been made simple, fast, and more effective. Nothing can be more satisfying to the University when we know that our students, who are the end-users, understand the facilities available and utilize them properly. In this connection, I appreciate the efforts of the Institutional Research Office (IRO), who is working very hard to collect and analyze the data very systematically, and all other offices of the University and the four Constituent Colleges. Thanks to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between RAKMHSU and the Ministry of Health (MOH), our students get hands-on clinical experience in both Sheikh Saqr and Obaidulla Hospitals in Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah hospital. Commissioning of the Geriatric hospital with 140 beds has added to the comprehensiveness of the clinical teaching. Further, the Clinical teaching for medical students has been strengthened by the addition of 10 Core Clinical Faculty. The Ministry of Health also Sponsors UAE Nationals for the Nursing Program, both for Undergraduate and Masters. Also, several processes of examinations have been streamlined. The Vetting Committees for both MCQs and PBLs are making earnest attempts to improve the Quality of both and their uniform implementation across all colleges. The Office is conducting examinations for more than 130 courses each semester across four constituent colleges in a very systematic way. Our students' meticulous hard work resulted in an overall pass percentage of over 95%, with more than 26% obtaining excellent or outstanding grades. Starting from the year 2010, the University has instituted a system of academic honors for students with excellent academic achievements. In addition to the celebration of UAE National Day, RAKMHSU Cultural Day and the Student Scientific Conference were some of the highlights of student activities every year. It is very gratifying to note students' high participation in both Oral and Poster Presentations at the Conference. In addition to the academic achievements, our students excel in several co-curricular and extracurricular activities, including the sports activities within and outside RAKMHSU, bringing laurels to the University. The Office of Student Affairs is to be commended to initiate all the activities and manage a high level of student involvement. RAKMHSU conducts several CME programs with the help of faculty. Many delegates attend the CMEs, and it was a nice feeling for us to receive accolades from everybody for the facilities and the way CMEs were organized. RAKMHSU wholeheartedly thanks the Ministry of Health, Adjunct Clinical faculty, and other NGOs like AKMG to close cooperation in organizing these CMEs. The CME Programs on "Cardiology Update," which hosted more than 600 delegates, "World Hypertension Day" 2nd RAKCON Scientific Nursing Conference "Making a Difference: Strengthening Nursing Education, Practice and Research for Quality Patient Care," were the other CMEs organized by RAKMHSU.

The Lille 2 University of Health and Law (French: Université Lille II) is a French university for health, sports, management, and law. It is located in Lille, Campus Lille II Droit Santé. The University of Lille II inherits from the Faculty of Law established as the Université de Douai in 1562. Today, sciences and technologies are taught in an independent campus of Université de Lille I - USTL, while literature and social sciences are taught as part of the independent campus of Université de Lille III - Charles de Gaulle. Altogether, the Lille universities include more than 90,000 students and are the core parts of the European Doctoral College Lille-Nord-Pas de Calais that includes 3,000 Ph.D. University research laboratories support doctorate students. Since 1970, the main campus of University de Lille II is situated in Ronchin, in Lille's southern part.

Since the year 1800, several healthcare schools and medical courses have been operating in Tallinn, where midwives, nurses, and doctor's assistants have been trained. Continual training for health care specialties started in 1940 when the Nurses' School was opened. After consolidation with the Assistant Physicians' school, the Tallinn Medical Secondary School was established. October 16th, 1940, is considered to be the official birthday of our College. In 1943 due to World War II, the School of Assistant Physicians and Midwifery was temporarily transferred to Tambov, Russia. But in 1944, the school continued working in Estonia in the former building of the Nursing School in Tallinn, Pärnu road 104. In 1945 the school was renamed the Tallinn Republican Medical Secondary School. The school offered study programs in five specialties: assistant physician, midwife, assistant pharmacist, dental technician, and nurse. On September 2nd, 1946, 11 assistant physician-midwives, one assistant physician, and 20 nurses graduated. From December 7th, 1964, the school was renamed the Tallinn Medical School - the school's name up to 2005. During the 70 years of the school's existence, professional education has been provided in 11 health care specialties according to the Estonian labor market's needs. Since 1992, the admission of students is accepted only based on secondary education. In 1996, nurses' training at the level of higher vocational education started; during the following years, the same level was achieved in a midwife, pharmacist, and dental technician specialties. In 1998, the training for a new specialty - optometrist - was launched. Two more professional higher education curricula were opened during the next years - occupational therapist and radiology technician. In cooperation with the Estonian Nurses Union (now the Estonian Nurses Association) and the Ministry of Social Affairs, the advanced study course for nurses was started in 1998, advanced studies for midwives and dental technicians followed in 2002. In the autumn of 2002, all the curricula were corrected and approved by the Ministry of Education and Research as the professional higher education curricula. During the academic year 2003/2004, nurse assistants' training at the level of secondary vocational education was started again. From 2005, the school was reorganized into an applied higher education institution and renamed Tallinn Health College. The title of our College changed slightly in February 2009; now it is Tallinn Health Care College. Today, the College provides professional higher education in eight fields. Currently, nurses and health nurses, midwives, dental technicians, optometrists, assistant pharmacists, occupational therapists, and health promotion specialists are underway. The number of students has continuously increased. Currently, more than 1200 students are taught in the College. Tallinn Health Care College has actively been participating in international cooperation and education programs; we have cooperation in Lifelong Learning Programmes Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci, Grundtvig, Nordplus, Tempus, Interreg, etc. One of the most popular programs is the Erasmus program in which the participation of students and staff is very active in our College. The hard work in this project has also provided plenty of achievements, one of them being the silver medal in Erasmus teacher exchange from 2008, which we consider an essential milestone in our College's history. The College shall provide professional higher education, vocational education and training, and in-service training. Student workload in professional higher education studies for persons with vocational education in the same profession shall be 120 ECTS credits. Professional higher education studies shall end with defending a final paper or taking a final examination (according to curricula). A student who has completed a professional higher education curriculum shall receive a diploma of professional higher education and diploma supplements in the Estonian and English languages.

By this act, every company over a particular scale is obliged to appoint a physician for managing the healthcare of its workers. The purpose for which the university was established is twofold. The other is to contribute to promoting the medical, nursing, and healthcare sciences relevant to the working environment and workers' health and developing medical professionals in these fields. Based on the education, research, and medical examinations relating to general medicine, our university promotes education and research that mostly pertains to occupational medicine and occupational healthcare and produces many excellent occupational health physicians and related healthcare professionals in society. At the same time, we advance research in related fields and assume a central role in the local people's healthcare. Yamagata Prefectural University of Health Sciences (YPUHS) was initially founded in 1954 as Yamagata Prefectural Advanced Nursing School. In April 1997, the nursing school was reorganized to a 3-years system college for health professions, including registered nurses, public health nurses, midwives, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. The college was then expanded as a university of 4-years system consisting of the Department of Nursing, the Department of Physical Therapy, and the Department of Occupational Therapy in April 2000. A Graduate School of Health Sciences was also established in 2004. We will provide broad-based education, whole-hearted humanity, a high degree of expertise, and technical skill. This program started in April 2006; all parents and children who can visit the Center are welcome to attend. Sessions are held from Monday to Thursday, twice a month on alternate weeks from 10:30 to 12:00. They are divided into five or six groups of parents with pre-kindergarten children aged 0 to 3. The University was established in 2001 to train future health professionals in health and social welfare sciences. The fourth faculty is the Faculty of Healthcare Management, which consists of the Department of Health Informatics. There are about 3,400 students now taking a wide range of courses in these faculties. Our graduate school started in 2005 and now has four master's courses with majors in Rehabilitation Sciences (Master of Rehabilitation Science), Social Welfare (Master of Social Work), Health Sciences (Master of Health Science), and Health Informatics and Business Administration (Master of Health Informatics and Business Administration), which was just established. The School has one doctoral course with a major in Health and Welfare (Doctor of Health Science). Out of 102 students, 74 are in the master's courses and 28 in the doctoral course, as of April 1, 2014. As a matter of educational policy, we pay special attention to interprofessional education (IPE). It is necessary for students to participate in a learning system shared with different professional trainees based on the multi-disciplinary healthcare team's concept and to understand the roles of the different professions within the team. IPE can increase patient satisfaction and a reduction in medical expenditures. With the increase of globalization in the form of the influx of health care professionals into Japan from abroad and vice versa, the IPE has been becoming more important than ever for students and professionals in health-related fields. We want to encourage students with scientific interests in improving people's health to become "qualified QOL supporters" with the intent to work worldwide in the future. We have been conducting collaborative research with international professionals, especially those from countries in Asia and the Pacific region. Therefore, we are looking forward to producing modern scientific and technological achievements with the international community of health professionals who share a common interest in health science and health care. Basic Goals for NUHW: To foster health professionals who will work not only in the super-aged society but also in the upcoming global society in Japan, we aim to increase students from 2800 to 5000 within ten years. To produce qualified QOL supporters who will work in the super-aged society and the upcoming global society in Japan, we provide educational support for all our students and graduates. They can work not only in local communities but also in many parts of the world. In our increasingly aging society, the role of nursing colleges and universities in health and welfare has become a matter of increasing importance. Oita University of Nursing and Health Sciences was established as one of these institutions in 1998 by the government of Oita Prefecture. Oita University of Nursing and Health Sciences's mission is to assume a central role in the advancement of excellence in education, research, and community service in the field of nursing. The university is dedicated to assisting its students in becoming compassionate health care providers capable of understanding the thoughts, feelings, and desires of those under their care who are suffering from pain and mental afflictions. The faculty is committed to training clinically competent nursing professionals highly skilled in decision making, critical thinking, and patient care management, who will also be future leaders in health care, nursing education, and research. As a publicly supported institution, the university is also committed to promoting the health and well-being of society through cooperation with the people, the health service agencies, and the community's governments. Our faculty is now putting all of its strength into education, research, and community service to make our university a center of excellence in nursing. As part of that effort, we established a Master's degree program in Nursing Science in 2002 and a Doctoral degree program in Nursing Science in 2004. In 2008, we established the first graduate school course for educating Nurse Practitioners in Japan to train nurse practitioners in primary care for geriatrics and pediatrics. In 2009, we established a Master's degree program and a Doctoral degree program in Health Sciences to enhance the relationship between nursing and the basic sciences. In 2011, we introduced a four-year Registered Nursing program in our Undergraduate School, the first such curriculum in Japan. We moved our Public Health Nursing program and Midwife program from the Undergraduate School to the Graduate School. In 2015, we introduced a four-year undergraduate clinical practicum in preventive home visits to the elderly residing in our campus communities. This program's goal, in which all of our undergraduates make home visits in teams to the same older adult several times a year, is to improve the health of the surrounding communities by providing information and guidance on health promotion and prevention to the local elderly. Also, we want to strengthen collaborative research and promote international cooperation in the various fields of nursing. We expect that all of our students will become valuable professionals who can cherish and care for people with varied kinds of needs. Finally, our university is located on the top of a hill with a good view of the surrounding beautiful mountains. There are also several famous hot springs close to our university. The area's tremendous natural beauty and the hot springs serve to heal our hearts, minds, and bodies.

Furthermore, we are offering small group seminars and clinical internships to enrich learning opportunities for our students. We want to develop specialized nurses with a deep understanding of their healthcare and welfare system's role. We aim to teach our students the ability to warm-heartedly share human joy, pain, and suffering based on respect for the dignity of life. Furthermore, we want to foster a rich sense of ethics and humanity to act following human rights. To solve health-related problems, students will learn to develop intellectual power, the ability to judge, and the ability to adapt to certain situations by studying to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills. We aim to develop nursing practice abilities based on the understanding of humans as individuals, parts of groups, families, or communities. Our university motto is "the spirit of service in which one must live through the path of great value to society." Our forerunner Kansai Vocational School of Acupuncture and Massage, was founded in May 1957 by Takeo Takeda on the above motto. The school's goals were to cultivate excellent acupuncture and massage skills and develop these therapies in Osaka. In April 1985, the three-year Kansai College of Oriental Medicine was established, evolved into Kansai University of Oriental Medicine as a four-year university in April 2003. In April 2007, the name of our university was changed to Kansai University of Health Sciences. At the same time, the Graduate School of Kansai University of Health Sciences (Master's Course) was established. We established various affiliated medical institutions to provide clinical education in high-level integrative medicine and contribute to the local health care. The Attached Clinic provides specialized medical services based on Western medicine. The Attached Acupuncture and Moxibustion Clinic, the Attached Satellite Acupuncture and Moxibustion Clinic in Wakayama, and the Attached Judo Therapy Clinic offer medical care based on traditional Oriental medicine. These clinics also provide clinical practice, training, and research for students, graduate students, and medical professionals. Under the existing circumstances, we believe that it is essential to help students develop into medical personnel with the requisite skills for emergency medical care at the scene of earthquakes, tsunamis, and other disasters. Presently, Japanese society is rapidly aging at speed unprecedented in the world. Various diseases are seen in the elderly, and the metabolic syndrome and stress-related diseases such as depression that reflects modern society are rapidly increasing in number. Western medicine, which focuses on specialized and fractionalized medical treatment, is too analytical to cope with diseases' structural change. Therefore, we consider it essential to carry out our mission of producing medical professionals who will become leaders in the field of integrative medicine. The Mayo Clinic in the United States is a world-renowned medical institution and one we aim to emulate as an ideal health center. The Mayo Clinic aims to achieve "ultimate hospitality." Its logo and mark feature the three shields, representing the clinic's three primary objectives: the most extensive and central shield represents "care of patients," and the other two smaller shields represent medical research and education, respectively. The clinic's motto, "The needs of patients come first," is a century-old brand and announces the principle that guides all its medical practices. On the principle that "Medicine is a cooperative science, requiring collaboration and teamwork," the Mayo Clinic practices the ultimate world-class medicine. At our university, under our founding motto, "Living through the path of great value to society," we, too, stand firm by "the spirit of service" that puts the needs of patients first and commits us to produce medical researchers and practitioners who can observe the highest ethical standards and cooperate with their colleagues.

The title of the incorporated school, "Tesshoukan (that operates the College)," dates back into the 19th century as our progenitor, Jishow Kameda, having learned modern Western medicine in Nagasaki, opened a private school to teach those who aspired to learn medicine. Ever since our commitment to education had continued into the 21st century by educating nurses who are well qualified and essential in health care services while responding to changes in health care and society. In recent years, complexity and advancement in health care services have been demanding nurses to have higher-level competencies to fulfill ever-expanding roles and responsibilities. Based on our belief that college-level education is essential to fulfilling those demands, we have established the Kameda College of Health Sciences with a Baccalaureate nursing program since 2012. Through four years of comprehensive and sophisticated professional nursing education in this program, we expect our graduates to play critical roles in health care teams in the future. Also, we are preparing to open a graduate program in nursing to assist nurses in continuing their career advancement. On the other hand, we are also eyeing the development of a wide range of health care professionals who can meet society's changing demands today and in the future. First, nursing roles have become more diversified, including sophisticated physicians' assistance in acute illnesses or emergencies to the patient's overall healthcare and education for many chronic or morbid diseases. Secondly, we are going to face an era of the super-aging society in Japan as well as in other developed countries. The medical and health care system should be changed to comprehensive management of the coexisting complexities/difficulties of the patient's life outside the hospital. In recent years, a team health care system has been adopted. Many professionals or experts, such as physicians, nurses, physical therapists, pharmacists, nutritionists, and social workers, are responsible for cooperating in managing patient care. In this regard, an attending nurse has a critical role in the patient's life as a primary health provider because of the proximity and constancy of most patients' care. Also, it is necessary to adapt to globalization in the 21st century. To study foreign cultures is valuable for nursing education. Our students visit nursing universities or hospitals in Singapore, Canada, The United States, and China to study foreign nursing systems. Our curriculum in the Department of Nursing at the Kameda College of Health Sciences cultivates human resources capable of comprehensive nursing and understanding the global world.

The International University of Health and Welfare (IUHW) was founded in 1995 as the first comprehensive university of health and welfare in Japan, to develop health and welfare specialists and raise their status. We foster professionals who can become leaders in their respective specialties and adapt to the advancement and specialization of the medical, health care, and welfare fields. We are now a university with around 8,300 students in 10 schools and 24 departments, as well as a graduate school, across six campuses, located in Ohtawara City in Tochigi Prefecture, Narita City in Chiba Prefecture, Minato City in Tokyo, Odawara City in Kanagawa Prefecture, and Fukuoka City and Okawa City in Fukuoka Prefecture. The founding principle of IUHW that we have followed since our establishment is "building a society with mutual respect and support," which was advocated by our first President, Fujio Ohtani, who strove to protect human rights throughout his life. Under that principle, we have developed an educational environment. Our campuses also include health and welfare facilities for the elderly and disabled, allowing students to have direct contact with people who have special needs and nurture loving-kindness in their everyday experiences naturally. The education we provide is designed to nurture medical professionals with advanced knowledge and technical skills, coupled with a rich sense of humanity. Accordingly, our faculty consists of pioneers in their respective fields, and our trailblazing curriculum utilizes advanced educational tools. Furthermore, we emphasize on-site experience in the early years, with clinical training being conducted from an early stage in the first year of study at the University Hospitals and many other affiliated medical facilities that act as clinical research centers for medicine. In 2020 the IUHW Narita Hospital is scheduled to open in Narita City, Chiba Prefecture, enhancing our practical learning environment. "Team care medicine" is indispensable in today's medical and welfare fields, where professionals from various specialties work together to provide the best treatment and care for patients. Taking full advantage of our university's comprehensive structure and multiple departments that foster specialists in various fields, we implement "Inter-Professional Education," an initiative unique to IUHW, by which we form teams that comprise members from various departments so that students can experience "team care medicine" for themselves. The School of Medicine's establishment in 2017 and the most recent addition of the School of Psychology and Healthcare Management at Akasaka will add further medical and psychology-based specialist perspectives to our team-based work, making our education even more appropriate for clinical training. We offer an exceptional education from pioneers in their respective fields, replete with attached and affiliated medical facilities. Along with our five attached hospitals—IUHW Hospital and IUHW Shioya Hospital in Tochigi Prefecture, IUHW Ichikawa Hospital in Chiba Prefecture, IUHW Mita Hospital in Tokyo, and IUHW Atami Hospital in Shizuoka Prefecture—we have several affiliated health and welfare facilities that act as clinical research centers for medicine and provide full cooperation with education, research, and personnel. Ohtawara Campus in Tochigi Prefecture has six health and welfare facilities, including support facilities for disabled persons, rehabilitation facilities, a unique nursing care home, the only treatment facility for children with emotional disorders in Tochigi Prefecture, a certified kodomo en, and a university clinic with a Speech and Hearing Center at the forefront of Asia. This environment, where our students have direct contact daily with the elderly and people with disabilities, is one of our university's unique characteristics. In terms of education, our students are taught by pioneers in their respective fields, including the deans of each school and department heads. Their clinical training takes place in attached hospitals and affiliated medical facilities under doctors' joint efforts and exceptional staff highly respected in their fields.

Modern-day medical settings witness a wide variety of health professionals working together as teams. These situations are often described using terms such as inter-professional collaboration, inter-professional cooperation, and team-based medicine. But a common requirement of all professionals in such settings is advanced skills, and such skills and professional knowledge are learned by students in the Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Radiological Science departments of our School of Health Sciences. A thorough grounding in science is also a prerequisite to building this professionalism, combined with understanding and communicating with professionals of other disciplines in the medical workplace. Besides, a great sense of humanity is called to understand the ill and infirm. The Center for Humanities and Sciences and Center for Medical Sciences provide the foundations that support the acquisition of a broad understanding of liberal arts and science that underpins medicine. Practical education is also vital, and the University Hospital supports this from an early stage in the undergraduate curriculum. After graduation, as they build their medical settings experience, various questions will arise for these health professionals. They will have a mind to resolve those questions through research and applying the latest knowledge. In 1974, our university was established on an educational ideal that aimed to combine knowledge, virtue, and physical wellbeing. This year, we celebrated our 42nd anniversary. We, "the northern base for fostering new health professionals," are a medical university devoted to nurturing specialists' social mission for regional healthcare. Our university comprises five faculties and graduate schools, including the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Dentistry, School of Nursing & Social Services, School of Psychological Science, and School of Rehabilitation Science, which is at last entirely constructed after four years, as well as the Dental Hygienist School affiliated with the School of Dentistry.
