About Me

  1. When Jamestown Business College was founded in 1886, its charter called for the "establishment of a school designed to qualify young men and women for office requirements at low cost to those whose inclinations and ambitions lead them to business pursuits." The college's mission remains fundamentally the same today. The college fulfills this mission by offering degree and non-degree programs that develop professional competencies for business careers and provide general education to contribute to each student's intellectual and emotional growth. The various programs meet student needs and the demands of the area community. The measure of the college's success will be evidenced by the success of its graduates in finding relevant employment by the partnerships the college has forged with the business community and by the opportunities available to students interested in pursuing additional education. Jamestown Business College is dedicated to believing that its programs should prepare students to enter the workforce and take part fully in today's society. The college offers general education courses to help students think logically and critically, improve their communication skills, achieve self-knowledge, work cooperatively in teams, and develop an appreciation of life-long learning. These are essential skills for graduates to possess in our rapidly changing society and increasingly complex workplace. All students are encouraged by the faculty and staff to achieve their academic and personal potential. To accomplish this, the college provides a supportive environment in which students can access a range of academic, personal, and career services. It is also essential to the college that its student body represents all segments of the diverse community it serves, adding richness and strength to the teaching and learning process. Our mission is to educate and empower students to enter the workplace with the knowledge and professional skills necessary to be successful in business, advance their education, and participate fully in our community and society. There are two essential elements in creating and maintaining protective programs and systems: understanding students and employees of campus crime and safety hazards and communication methods and activities to reduce or eliminate security and safety threats and hazards. Therefore, it is the policy of Jamestown Business College that all students and employees of Jamestown Business College are to report criminal acts and safety hazards or occurrences known to them. In the event of any concern, the proper reporting procedure for everyone is to contact Jamestown Business College's administrative staff at 716.664.5100 during regular operating hours. In the event of an immediate threat, danger, injury, or criminal occurrence, you are advised to call the local police/fire/emergency medical service in your jurisdiction first. Management program prepares students for a wide range of advanced professional options in the business arena. The program focuses on implementing strategic business practices, the role of ethics in the workplace, decision-making strategy, and global business practice knowledge. The advanced business administration curriculum includes operations management, critical thinking, human resources, business ethics, organizational behavior, and project management. The Dean provides personalized counseling and assistance to students who are interested in a transfer. Students interested in transferring should contact the Dean to learn about the institutions to which JBC graduates have recently transferred their JBC credits. Acceptance of credit is solely determined by the institution to which the student is applying. Jamestown Business College has an agreement with the James Prendergast Library to provide library services for JBC students. The James Prendergast Library is located at 509 Cherry Street, Jamestown, NY, near the college. The mission of the James Prendergast Library is to provide access to information resources, staff, facilities, and services that respond to the pursuit of knowledge, education, lifelong learning opportunities, and cultural enrichment by the people of the City of Jamestown and Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties. The library is open to the general public but is Jamestown Business College's number one resource in the area. Prendergast Library's reference staff meets with all students during their ENG151 course to demonstrate how to use the library's databases and resources. At Jamestown Business College, we understand that most students' significant concern is how they will pay for college. That is why JBC's Financial Aid staff is available to work with each student individually to discuss the most effective plan possible for meeting college costs. Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first step toward receiving federal and state aid for college. Many colleges and scholarship programs also use the FAFSA to award financial aid. Therefore every college-bound student should complete it. The FAFSA is prepared annually by current and prospective college students to determine their eligibility for student financial aid. Student loans are designed to help students pay for post-secondary education. JBC participates only in the Federal Direct Student Loan program consisting of subsidized Stafford, unsubsidized Stafford, and parent (PLUS) loans. A full financial aid counseling session will assist students in determining their needs. All FAFSA filers are encouraged to use the IRS DRT (IRS Data Retrieval Tool). The IRS DRT tool allows students and parents to access the IRS tax return information needed to complete the FAFSA and transfer (import) the data directly into their FAFSA, saving lots of time.
  2. Trinity Bible College and Graduate School were founded in 1948 as Lakewood Park Bible School. It is located on a beautiful 28-acre campus on the east side of Ellendale, North Dakota. The centerpiece of the campus is the Block Memorial Chapel. Other buildings on campus include the Lowell Lundstrom Heartland Student Life Center, the Ray Ulmer Field House, Liechty Hall, Davidson Hall, Daniel Schneck Kesler Hall, the Fern, and John Liechty Fitness Center, and the most recent addition is the Prayer & Teaching Center featuring two classrooms, a conference room, a spacious atrium with a waterfall, a prayer chapel, a kitchen, and connecting corridors. The Bob Tatum Football Field and a large practice field make up the rest of the campus grounds. Trinity is affiliated with the General Council of the Assemblies of God. The governing body of the college is the Board of Trustees. Board membership consists of Assembly of God district superintendents, individuals from the fields of church ministries, professions, education, and members-at-large. Trinity Bible College (TBC) is a fully accredited institution in good standing with the Association of Biblical Higher Education (ABHE). Trinity Bible College & Graduate School is committed to training and educating people with theological reflection and missional passion. People and communities everywhere will hear the good news of Jesus and see His love demonstrated. Over the coming years, Trinity Bible College and Graduate School will continue to develop its role as a leading Pentecostal Bible college in the USA and beyond. We will champion the cause of raising and training well-equipped leaders and prepare our students to be active, skilled individuals fitted for service in today’s world. We will emphasize lifelong learning, spiritual vitality, and life skills, ensuring that our graduates make a Christ-centered contribution to the communities in which they live and work. We will always take seriously the diverse world in which we live. From the view that accepts the Christian Gospel as the fundamental under-girding for life, we will ensure that our students are trained and encouraged to serve Jesus Christ authentically while handling complexity and diversity effectively. We will seek to pioneer the development of innovative training, scholarly understanding and critical awareness in order to prepare people to plant churches, enter the cross-cultural ministry or the workplace in such a way as to build churches and communities that genuinely show the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. We will adapt to changes in our society and culture by ensuring the development of talented, highly-skilled, and motivated staff, effective governance, management, and leadership. We will achieve this by providing well-resourced facilities and a commitment to network in an unthreatened way with churches and institutions that share our vision for a better world through the sending and placing of well trained Christian leaders. You may find a description of our beliefs in the Assemblies of God Statement of Fundamental Truths. Trinity Bible College and Graduate School (TBC & G.S.) are accredited by The Association of Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) in Good Standing, which is an institutional accrediting body recognized by Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and is listed in the Directory of Higher Education, published by the U.S. Department of Higher Education (D.E.). All of our academic programs share the central purpose of preparing Spirit-filled men and women for Christian service. Whether in the context of vocational ministry, education, business, music, counseling, or other areas of study, your personal, professional, and spiritual development are essential. Every B.A. and A.A. program at Trinity includes a core curriculum of classes in Bible and Theology. Most B.A. programs of study include the Major in Biblical Studies, particularly those with a vocational ministry focus. Due to the educational requirements of the Teacher Education and Business Administration programs, most students will choose the Biblical Studies Minor; however, some may choose the Biblical Studies Major to have a broader Bible basis. These programs of study are designed to integrate faith and learning. As you explore the variety of undergraduate degree programs offered at Trinity Bible College & Graduate School, you will discover that each Bachelor of Arts degree program has a Biblical Studies Major or Minor coupled with another Major or a Minor. That is because we believe that the study of Scripture becomes the foundation for Christian experience and life. Trinity Bible College & Graduate School offers an M.A. (Missional Leadership), an M.A. (Global Theology), and an M.A. (Rural Ministries). Let me tell you why I am so enthusiastic about these degrees. We have a highly experienced and qualified faculty. We believe that contemporary cutting edge education should be presented by people who believe what they teach and live it. The MA (Missional Leadership) is an innovative and inclusive degree that equips people in any leadership sphere, particularly Christian leadership. After serving for seven years in the U.K. and Europe and being exposed to rampant secularism and the postmodern milieu, we have sought to develop a program that will help leaders in these challenging but exciting times. Trinity Distance Education (D.E.) provides education and training to students across our nation. Whether you are just starting your college studies or are returning to finish your degree, our D.E. faculty has designed TBC online studies to help you learn the information and skills needed for your future, either as a vocational minister or as a Christian leader in another profession. 3. One hundred forty-three years ago, the University of Adelaide was founded with a noble goal: to prepare, for South Australia, young leaders shaped by education rather than birth or wealth in a settlement free of old world social and religious inequalities. The spirit of inquiry was further embraced, and the freedom to explore nonclassical subjects continued. Before reaching the 1900s, the University offered degrees in arts, science, law, medicine, and music. Additionally, mathematics, philosophy, languages, and mining engineering were taught. These flagship degrees and disciplines continue at the university today, with the curriculum evolving through industry input and the pioneering research and discovery for which Adelaide’s academics are known. The University is an international institution that distinctively embraces the ideal of the research university, where the excitement, vitality, and passion of the search for new knowledge is one in which all students participate as an enlightened and tolerant community where able students can find support, whatever their background or circumstances and as a place where the Kaurna people, original custodians of the land on which the campuses now rest, are acknowledged and their culture respected. The University of Adelaide draws strength from its founding values to fulfill its future research and teaching aspirations. The University has three primary areas of focus. We are committed to achieving excellence in education, research, and engagement with the community. Working closely with world-class academics, students acquire the skills, knowledge, and experience to make a significant contribution to their careers. Operating at the cutting edge of their disciplines, our academics enthusiastically share their passion for new knowledge and encourage students’ pursuits of world-changing discoveries. Equally important, students have ready access to staff throughout their time here, thanks to our low staff-to-student ratios. A commitment to incredibly high teaching standards ensure students are given every opportunity to excel and fulfill their potential. The University of Adelaide is committed to world-class research with tangible outputs of global significance, which challenge and change the world around us. Our researchers are committed to solving the world’s grandest challenges and significantly impacting the economy, health, public policy, and quality of life. Adelaide’s research strengths span a wide range of sectors, including food and wine, defense and security, health and medicine, engineering and technology, life sciences, mining and energy, and the environment. The University works with the community through strategic partnerships and alignments with business and enterprise, government bodies, other research institutions, non-government organizations, and industry groups. This is reflected in an extensive local and international partnership network. The University of Adelaide continues to deliver on quality of learning and teaching and service to its community. The University is organized into five academic faculties and four administrative divisions.
  4. In November of 2001, a small group of Christians met in Chino, California, to consider establishing a Reformed Christian college on the West Coast. Parents and young people were often hesitant to travel great distances to the nearest Reformed college. Moreover, the West Coast had many students who would benefit from a specifically Reformed perspective in their college education. At Providence, we believe that an institution is most successful if its vision is stated clearly and integrated consciously into every aspect of community life. The principles that guide Providence are adherence to the teachings of Scripture, Christ-centeredness in both doctrine and practice, and faithful service in extending the Kingdom of God into every area of life. These principles are woven throughout the Providence experience, from school mission statement to syllabus. The name given to Providence Christian College speaks boldly of God's excellent provision in the past and our trust in His goodness to provide for this college's future. God's Word, "providence," means that our sovereign God controls, upholds, and rules everything so that nothing happens to us by chance. As one of our Reformed confessions states, as a result of God's Providence, "we can be patient when things go against us, thankful when things go well, and for the future, we can have good confidence in our faithful God and Father that nothing will separate us from His love" (Heidelberg Catechism, Lord's Day 10). Our name also demands that we remember His sovereign care every day in the future. Whenever we stop trusting His Providence, we will fail. Whenever we begin trusting in ourselves, we will fall. It is our prayer that Providence Christian College, and all those associated with it, will always promote its name, trusting in the compassionate care of our Heavenly Father. The eye-catching centerpiece to Providence's campus is McGavran Hall, named for India's famous Christian missionary, who was a significant influence on modern missions, Donald A. McGavran. Providence classrooms fill the second floor of this impressive three-story structure, recently remodeled and upgraded with newly installed wireless internet. Students enjoy a clean and functional learning environment, complete with wall-sized windows looking out on the campus with mountains in the background. As the Academic Resource Center (ARC) is located down the hall from the classrooms, academic help and a quiet study area are just a short walk away. Open until midnight, and the ARC is the place for late-night study groups and a workspace away from distractions. Pierce Hall is the most versatile and widely-used facility on campus. It is centrally located immediately to the north of Speer Hall. The upper floor houses the cafeteria, which is complete with outdoor balcony seating. Students share meals with Providence staff and faculty, along with the extended community of the campus's other residents and organizations. The Latourette Library stands tall at the north end of the campus. One large room of the second floor houses Providence's book collection and research materials. Against the walls, there are several study carrels and computers for exclusive use by Providence students. In addition to Providence's library, students have access to William Carey's expansive third-floor collection of theological and mission-oriented materials for study. Located at the edge of the campus to the west of the Pierce building, the Gladys Aylward Hall provides residential space for over 300 people. Providence occupies the northern wing of the building with men on the first floor and women on the second. Rooms consist mainly of two-person rooms complete with beds, desks, and ample storage space. Each hall has a spacious, typical restroom. In addition to residences, Aylward provides a well-stocked weight room, several community rooms, community kitchen facilities, barbeque, and mail service. Located on the north edge of campus along Elizabeth Street, Townsend Hall provides additional residential space. It boasts a newly renovated quad style living and a spacious inner courtyard. Providence is committed to affordable education for all of its students, which is why we partner with you to make an educational investment in your future. Because of hundreds of generous donors, 100% of our students receive financial aid. Providence holds its total cost at an average of $7500 less than other Christian colleges in California, and last year 72% of our students received a renewable academic scholarship. In order to help our students achieve their academic and religious goals during their time at Providence, we have instituted several financial aid packages, including Grants, Scholarships, Loans, and Work-Study Programs. Also, we offer the Providence Promise Loan Repayment Assistance Program. This program is unique to Providence and ensures that our graduates can successfully follow God's plan for their future without worrying about student loan debt. Our financial aid advisor is on hand to help you with anything you need and our admissions counselors are happy to let you know what the next steps are in applying for financial aid.
  5. Al Yamamah University (YU) was established in May 2001 as a single college by the Al-Khudair family. This marked their second significant contribution to education in Saudi Arabia, having pioneered establishing the first private schools in Riyadh in 1957. Authorized as an institution of higher learning by the Ministry of Higher Education, Al Yamamah College opened its doors to male students in September 2004 and to female students in September 2006. In 2008, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may Allah protect him, issued a royal decree approving the elevation of Al Yamamah College to university status, the culmination of eight years of planning and hard work to establish a distinctive, modern Saudi educational institution that provides both undergraduate and postgraduate education. Since its inception, the University has established itself at the forefront of the competition among private higher education institutions in the Kingdom using English as a medium for instruction. Al-Yamamah University is located north of Riyadh, on the Al-Qassim Highway, and occupies 160,000 square meters. The latest standards designed it for educational institutions. The men’s campus consists of the central academic building, the grand auditorium, the main library, the students’ lounge, a sports club, and a mosque. From its inception, Al-Yamamah University has been committed to providing female students with educational opportunities that prepare them for their vital role in the emerging Saudi labor market. The women’s campus is the fruit of that commitment, with a state-of-the-art campus featuring modern facilities – both academic and recreational – that are fully equivalent to those enjoyed on the men’s campus. Built at a total cost of 300 million Saudi Riyals (approximately US$ 80 million), the University’s ultra-modern campus provides state-of-the-art facilities and innovative instructional designs and curricula offered by faculty from around the world. Since its inception, Al Yamamah College (now Al Yamamah University) has realized the critical role that the English language plays in today’s world of business, knowledge, and technology and has taken a strategic decision to offer its English programs. With that in mind, YU started a long-term partnership with the US-based INTERLINK Language Centers to provide the English language preparation program for Al Yamamah students. Following the project-based, student-centered approach and with highly-qualified teaching staff, Saudi INTERLINK Language Centers (SILC) have been providing the Orientation English language program since 2004 to equip students with the English language and other academic skills they need to succeed in the academic context at YU and beyond. Al Yamamah University offers undergraduate and graduate programs in three colleges: the College of Business Administration (COBA) the College of Computer & Information Systems (CCIS) the College of Engineering and Architecture(CEA) Al Yamamah University provides academic instruction and professional training of the highest standard that imparts its students a life-long dedication to learning and self-development while enabling rising generations to shape a future marked by positive social and economic progress. Al Yamamah University aspires to be the foremost Saudi educational institution renowned for its adequate preparation of creative and entrepreneurial professionals who are consistently in high demand by leading public and private sector organizations.
  6. Effat University believes that the nation's future lies in the divine act of reading, as expressed in the Holy Quran. The verb IQRA, 'read,' transformed a nation that favored the oral transmission of culture and the lyrical expression of ideas into a nation that produced a formidable number of written manuscripts. Effat University maintains that its prospects reside in reviving this vital part of the divine inspiration, reading, and increasing comprehensive human knowledge to provide the nation with an infusion of new blood and guide it towards enlightenment. Effat University strives to impart international and humanistic Islamic values to its students. It prepares them to become influential members of their respective institutions and useful contributors to their society without being either narrow-minded or obsessed with liberalism leading to dissolution. God has brought a well-balanced nation to the world. By heeding divine instruction, Effat University will bestow society with generations of innovative leaders: "Act! Allah will behold your actions, and (so will) His messenger and the believers, and ye will be brought back to the Knower of the Invisible and the Visible, and He will tell you what ye used to do". (Sort Al- Tawba: Verse 105). Ethical values define human beings; they sign a highly cultivated mind and a devotion to the world of moral ideals. It is possible to distinguish between the values of the individual, the values of society, and the institution's values. By the latter, we mean the bond that brings together members of an institution, creating one cohesive body and the traits that characterize that institution's members. Effat University is chiefly concerned with developing individuals who possess solid values when an increasing focus on technological development has taken us away from a focus on spiritual and moral issues (which seem to erode further with each new development). The University's core values stem from the Quran's first word that Gabriel taught to Prophet Mohammed (PBUH): 'IQRA' or 'read'. It is as though Allah Almighty wanted to say that reading and knowledge are the roots of each action, even if this action is a call to embrace the new and final religion, Islam. Thus, the sacred text did not begin with words such as 'pray', 'worship', or 'invocate' because these significant actions may not be adequately accomplished without being supported by the acquisition of knowledge, which will transport them from a world of ignorance into a world of enlightenment. Effat University considers reading a mixture of inherent and acquired knowledge; therefore, reading is a synthesis of (i) divine inspiration and (ii) careful observation of the universe. The first of these is the essence of values, while the second is the source of innovation, development, and life creation. In Arabic, the word 'reading' can also mean 'recitation,' which can imply a gathering of people. Accordingly, the verb qara'a, 'to read', means 'to gather' it also means 'good hospitality'. It is on this semantic basis that Effat University has established its IQRA core values, and it is within the IQRA framework that the University has developed its ambitious and lofty mission. Recitation engenders fullness of thought, and gathering together advances the quest for the various domains of knowledge. The product is leadership accomplished through creativity and innovation. Hospitality indicates superior communication and interpersonal skills, which involve reaching out to people and opening doors of opportunity for them. This allows them to avail themselves of what we have to offer and means that we, too, may benefit from their contributions. Effat University sees its ideas and programs as a banquet available to all: 'To the winter home called the bolted one and saw not the host in bereavement.' Difference and individuality characterize human beings. Ideas, ambitions, emotions, behaviors, beliefs, and social groupings shape who we are. Cross-cultural fertilization yields constructive results by producing a master discourse through which identity, similarity, and difference are identified. Islam is not only a religion but a way of life. Islam provides a universal code of conduct governed by ethics. The Holy Quran and Hadith of the Prophet Mohammad (Peace be Upon Him) provide holistic guidelines to every person's affairs. These guidelines emphasize authenticity through virtues, including kindness, honesty, tolerance, self-restraint, patience, forgiveness, and compassion. Such values govern human interaction at all levels and in all different settings. All the 114 Surat of the Quran emphasize ethical behavior at all levels, but Surat Al-Hujuratt, in particular, pays specific attention to standards of social behavior. Surat Al-Hujuratt preaches 18 universal codes of ethics in its 18 ayas. Effat University's Code of Ethical Conduct draws on the teachings of Islam. The Code is also influenced by the philosophy of the founder of Effat University, Queen Effat Al Thunayyan (God rest her soul), who unceasingly sought to strike a balance between traditionalism and modernity, and the IQRA Core Values derived from the imperative 'read,' the first word of the Quran revealed over 1400 years ago. Since its establishment in 1999, Effat University's values have fostered stewardship, respect, care, and attention for all its constituents. Our commitment to integrity, honesty, and fairness in our operations - of which teaching, research, and service to the community are considered an asset - has set us apart nationally and internationally as an institution seeking excellence in all its endeavors. Drafting this holistic Code of Ethical Conduct is a crucial step towards the development of Effat University. Our mission is to advocate ethical conduct in the management of our academic, research, and community service activities, as well as interactions with our stakeholders. Effat designated eight fundamental pillars that constituted its Code of ethical conduct and named them 'Tarbawyyat Effat.' These pillars are regulatory measures and crucial to the University's progress as it competes for academic excellence in today's highly competitive higher-education environment.

A creative personality is characterized by the ability and clear-sightedness to recognize opportunities, approach them courageously, think them thoroughly, assess them carefully and responsibly, and turn them into value-creating reality. SIBE provides a framework within which ideas can develop into high-quality innovations. A high-quality innovation is characterized by the fact that the new is different from what exists and creates more value in a broad sense. All SIBE courses are developed and implemented following the quality management system based on extensive experience. Steinbeis University and the courses offered by SIBE are state-approved. The "knowledge application concept" of the Steinbeis Foundation forms the basis of the triangle site entire educational program of Steinbeis University. This knowledge application occurs mainly by all certificate courses, Bachelor's and Master's programs, and doctorates, being organized according to what is known as the "project competency principle." Due to the qualitative and quantitative importance of courses of study as a core competence of Steinbeis University, this principle is implemented using "Experience Based Curriculum" (EBC) as an example. The EBC at SIBE is characterized by the interaction of the three elements of theory, action, and reflection. These three elements play an equal role in the educational process and SIBE's curricula. Within the framework of the EBC at SIBE, students are asked to apply the theory they have learned and consolidated in the (self-)study to actions in (business) reality and to make the theory tangible (knowledge application). In (written) project studies and (oral) presentations, students reflect throughout their Master's degree in the real world projects they implement in the company. At the same time, the students also reflect on their individual capability development and, thus, on their personal development. In this way, SIBE's EBC provides excellent personal development conditions, the necessary tertiary education condition. Whereas in traditional institutions of higher education, two protagonists – university and student – act together, the EBC takes place with the interaction of three protagonists: the institution of higher education, student, and company. Here, the project is a vital transfer instrument between theory and practice. During the SIBE Master's program, the project ensures that students apply their initially general, scientifically based knowledge to actions within a particular business environment. It is precisely this active momentum of knowledge application and the accompanying or subsequent reflection that ultimately develops competencies. SIBE's curriculum and the phases of the project within the company are closely coordinated. This enables the immediate application of knowledge and allows the students to learn from their actions. The scientific theories and methods learned in the seminar are translated into business practice by the students as part of their project work: business reality and consolidated theoretical knowledge. The projects' focus is as diverse as the companies' challenges: innovative growth strategies, cost optimization, restructuring, new management systems, reaching new target groups, developing new products, etc. The study projects or company projects thus form possible specializations within the study programs and therefore ensure that the student's interests and goals are consistently pursued and promoted throughout the study's entire duration.
  8. Every B.A. and A.A. program at Trinity includes a core curriculum of classes in Bible and Theology. Most B.A. programs of study include the Major in Biblical Studies, particularly those with a vocational ministry focus.

  14. One hundred forty-three years ago, the University of Adelaide was founded with a noble goal: to prepare, for South Australia, young leaders shaped by education rather than birth or wealth in a settlement free of old world social and religious inequalities.
