Henrique (ENIDH) is a public polytechnic higher education institute with statutory, scientific, educational, administrative, financial, disciplinary, and asset management autonomy, by its Statutes approved by Legislative Order no. 40/2008, of 07 August 2008, published in the Official Gazette no. 158 – Series II, of 18 August. ENIDH is a center of creation, dissemination, and transmission of culture, science, and technology, linking their activities in the fields of education, vocational training, research, and the provision of services to the community, both at national and international levels, to enhance the technical knowledge, thus participating in society-related activities, in particular for the dissemination and transfer of knowledge. The ENIDH is the only national college dedicated to the training of Merchant Marine Officers and senior managers of the Maritime-port sector in the areas of Intermodality, Logistics, and Management. - Over the 40 years of its existence, the Piaget Institute has consolidated its higher education, research, and intervention activities in the communities where it has established its Campuses. The main consolidation agents have naturally been its Schools and Institutes, always working in a broad and plural perspective that has placed creativity, innovation, and responsibility at its center, and always guiding their activities by respect for fundamental human values and their inclusion into personal and intellectual education and training of every graduate. Moreover, the Piaget Institute’s project has not remained limited to Portugal and has extended across the national borders. The Institute has a growing international dimension, developed through the expansion of the institution itself and the results of several partnerships. It is also economically sustainable, has an entrepreneurial spirit, and is open to new opportunities, all of which are consistent with its constitutive principles. Thus, the Institute has been present in the Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) since 1999 and is currently established in Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, and Mozambique. Always attentive to the problems arising in the communities that surround the Institute’s activity hubs, it defines suitable intervention measures and then proposes them either on its own or in association with other civil society institutions, and thus provides incentives for the establishment of new entities that streamline the conjoint actions and establish bridges between the Institute and the community through associated projects, such as the APDES – Piaget Agency for Development (Agência Piaget para o Desenvolvimento), Piaget Health (Piaget Saúde), Piaget Education, Training and Consulting (Piaget Formação e Consultoria), Jean Piaget NucliSol, Piaget Food and Nutrition (Piaget Alimentar), Litoalentejo, and Piaget Publishing (Edições Piaget). To contribute to human and social development through the establishment and consolidation of Organic Units that implement education, research, and community intervention projects based on scientific, pedagogical, and creative freedom, proximity, fundamental human values, and networking. Solid benchmarking in all the educational projects the Institute undertakes, consolidation of the existing education/training offer, extension of the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate education/training, and intensification of the commitment to continuing and professional training, which also includes submission of new courses to the National Agency for Accreditation and Evaluation of Higher Education (A3ES – Agência de Avaliação e Acreditação do Ensno Superior) and the Directorate-General of Higher Education (DGES – Direção-Geral do Ensino Superior). Thus, the Piaget Institute aims to generate strategic partnerships and collaboration protocols, to increase teacher exchange both within the Group’s network of establishments and with other institutions, and to increase foreign students’ incoming mobility, namely from the Community of the Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP – Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa) and Europe. To reinforce the educational project of every higher education establishment and Campus by consolidating the education/training offer designing and implementing graduate and undergraduate education/training designing and implementing postgraduate education/training designing and implementing continuing and professional education/training. Consolidation of the responsibility for social, human, and ecological development of societies as part of the Piaget Institute’s affirmation strategy. A set of initiatives and good practices will be promoted and implemented with the spirit of commitment, responsibility, and participation, and in collaboration with the future Social Responsibility Office. We’re glad you’re interested in joining our growing community of international students from more than 60 countries! Polytechnic of Leiria is proud of our friendly environment among students, teachers, and technicians which helps students settle into a new life away from home. The International Cooperation and Mobility Office (Gabinete de Mobilidade e Cooperação Internacional – GMCI) is a coordinating, supervision, and support structure to all of IPLeiria’s initiatives of internationalization. The roles of GMCI are: To coordinate and support IPLeiria’s endeavors in the internationalization of education, cooperation, and academic mobility. To establish contacts with several international institutions within GMCI’s scope, aiming at the establishment/reinforcement of partnerships, as well as the establishment of new cooperation agreements To promote. support, implement and supervise the mobility of IPLeiria and international students, teachers, and administrative staff To promote and manage de processes of application to international mobility, including scholarships To develop promotional activities, while acting as an up-to-date information center in academic cooperation and academic mobility To act as the link for both networking and information with partner universities, companies, and international networks. Nowadays, strategic planning is considered an essential management tool, providing orientation and cohesion to the activity carried out by the institutions, globally characterizing its context, and providing clear instructions about the work it needs to develop to reach its goals. This is materialized in the strategic plan, a guiding tool in the activity of an institution, in which the procedures to reach the strategic aims and objectives are defined. As the driving force of the institutional activity, it directs the collaborators’ effort towards a common goal. The Polytechnic of Leiria has progressively asserted its connection to the outside world through its participation in initiatives and projects with an impact on social and cultural and economic development of the West region and Leiria by the performance of its faculty teachers, researchers, and staff members, and the quality and diversity of its activities and projects. This link is, without a doubt, a factor of incremental nature in the development, improvement, and endogenization of practices and knowledge. As such, it influences the internal structure of the higher education institutions and their functional adequacy to the challenges of society and the requirements of competitiveness. - ESAP-Escola Superior Artistica do Porto has an institutional affiliation with the Cooperativa de Ensino Superior Artistico do Porto (CESAP), a public non-profit entity, established in May 1982 and legalized by public deed in the Diario da Republica no. 202, III series, of 1 September 1982, with operating authorization granted by Order on 28 June. The location in the historic center of Porto - a world heritage site - corresponds to a strategic option that has contributed to significant interaction with the local community and the urban environment in which it is inserted. ESAP is one of the associate schools of UNESCO and has established various national and international protocols with universities and other institutions of artistic and cultural nature. The teachings here practiced are the various media that configure contemporary artistic and architectural production. Through an interdisciplinary practice, students construct their referential field, as a space of confrontation, in which different experiences and multiple theoretical-practical perspectives intersect. ESAP is a space for encouraging the research and meetings between artists, theoreticians, researchers, curators, or other professionals, national and international, both inside and outside the institution. The place that ESAP occupies in the territory of the arts and architecture is manifested in the growing recognition of its partners. Erasmus + started on 1 January 2014. The program replaced the previous European Commission funding programs in the areas of education, training, youth, and sport, namely: the Lifelong Learning Program, the Youth Program in Action, and other international programs, including Jean Monnet and Erasmus Mundus. The Erasmus + program is designed to support education, training, youth, and sport in all sectors of lifelong learning, including higher education, vocational training, adult education, school education, and youth activities. A new structure for the Erasmus + program was proposed to reflect the need for further simplification and rationalization. Bringing together a range of different programs and initiatives of the European Commission it is hoped that its funding program will become more efficient and more accessible. Erasmus + is an integrated program, which means that it is based on Actions. Some activities funded under Lifelong Learning and Youth in Action will disappear and others to be translated into the new structure of Erasmus +. Erasmus + is a simplified EU funding program for education and training, youth, and sport. The activities are based on different types of opportunities which are all the projects offered by the Erasmus + program grouped into broader actions. Each action represents a different type of project aligned with a given area. We have four departments: Department of Architecture, Department of Visual Arts, Department of Theater and Cinema, Department of Theory and History. View full university

- NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS) is the School of Statistics and Information Management of Universidade NOVA de Lisboa. It was founded in 1989 in response to a large number of graduates who specialized in Information Management and the growing need for the use of new information technologies. Today NOVA IMS provides education at the highest level to more than 1700 students including undergraduates, postgraduates, masters, and Ph.D. degree students. NOVA IMS’s strategy for the medium term is to develop and expand its current academic and scientific projects whilst at the same time maintaining its values and strategic guidelines. The group of strategic components referred to as medium-term objectives are wide and combine excellence in teaching, learning, and research. It also includes strengthening partnerships with the community and the business world, improving the quality of students at entry level into our courses, creating a work environment that is motivating for all our employees, with a policy of continuous improvement management of NOVA IMS. The medium-term strategy of NOVA IMS is based on six components: NOVA IMS will continue to offer study programs of high quality in terms of content, teaching staff, and learning environment. We stimulate innovation and support initiatives aiming at market satisfaction, namely life-long learning and e-learning projects. Together with this, is the improvement of the performance of the teaching staff as well as the evaluation of the courses by the students. This is something that has been a regular feature at NOVA IMS since its beginning. As regards the learning environment, we encourage student participation in research projects and international exchange programs. Expanding the current premises of NOVA IMS is necessary to be able to achieve the above-mentioned targets. NOVA IMS intends to increase the number of high-level researchers, both assistants and full-time, in its research center. This objective can be achieved by expanding the Doctoral Programme and by incentives that encourage excellence in the investigation. These two initiatives will contribute to greater visibility of the research in recognized international scientific publications. The research center will seek to increase the financial return from investigation and development contracts. NOVA IMS will seek, in a balanced and sustainable way, to increase the participation of companies in AD NOVA IMS, namely with software producers in the area of information systems. Other partnerships, with similar and complementary institutions, are being developed involving the development of research projects and joint postgraduate courses, mainly with countries in the heart of the European Union and countries whose official language is Portuguese. - In 1989, a group of lecturers who had a new vision of design created a school to fulfill the needs of the growing industry and improve the existing educational system. Today, with nearly five thousand graduate students, ESAD is a reference in the field of arts and design, both in Portugal and around the world. Since its foundation, ESAD has bet on teaching quality, arguing that schools, in addition to awarding academic degrees, must be formative institutions in the full sense of the term. And also communicating platforms between civil society, industry, and the market. The school’s program includes graduation degrees in Design and Art, Masters in Design, various Post Graduate courses, an open training program, numerous workshops, and summer laboratories. Scholarships are also awarded annually to applicants of graduate degrees and Masters in Design. ESAD encourages students to understand the role of design and the arts and to intervene in national and international contexts. It seeks to develop skills in creativity, innovation, criticism, and technology. Educating, valuing, and innovating are the three fundamental guidelines to ESAD. Its 30 years of existence have been intense, marked by the wide range of awards and distinctions earned by the school across the years, both by students and lecturers at national and international events. Additionally, hundreds of seminars, conferences, workshops, exhibitions, and meetings have extended the training in an active and critical environment within the domain of design. The school has a strong relationship with the outside world. Establish partnerships with institutions, companies, and local authorities. A focus on innovation, memory, and heritage, targeted research, creative industries, and labor market integration. ESAD IDEA is the research center of ESAD, which came to frame and consolidate this work. The internationalization of the school goes back to its foundation. It passes through the ERASMUS exchange, for the mobility of students, teachers, and technical personnel, for the dissemination of academic projects, and the accomplishment of events and design publications. Currently, ESAD has bilateral partnerships and contracts with about 150 higher education institutions from five continents. The daily life of the school is intense, diverse, and productive. Classrooms, workshops, and studios are open to cross-cutting or specific activities and interdisciplinary or specialized tasks. It is intended that students can experiment, test, and produce in an assisted manner by teachers and technicians. ESAD produces and disseminates knowledge. The most relevant projects, as well as the subjects of reflection and academic research, are continuously published in bibliographic editions, available in the online storefront. Each year, ESAD participates in national and international competitions. In the areas of communication design, interiors, fashion, product or in digital and multimedia arts and jewelry, students have become accustomed to receiving prestigious awards in competitions from companies such as AcrobActic, Art and Fashion Bilbao, Bienal Ibero-Americana de Design, Bloom/Portugal Fashion, Bombay Sapphire, Caixa Geral de Depósitos, Cevisama, Clat5/ Apdes, Clube Português de Artes e Ideias, Electrolux Design, etc. View full university
