      About Me

      1. ZSTU is one of the main centers of mining education and science of Ukraine. It is connected first of all with the great mineral wealth of Zhytomyr and outstanding personalities who had a significant influence on the development of mining. From the start there were two departments at the faculty: “Technology of Machine Building, Metal-Cutting Machines and Instruments” and “Automation and Telemechanics.” The part-time students studied at the faculty during three years and then they had the opportunity to complete their studies at other educational institutions of Ukraine and other republics of the former Soviet Union. Later the evening and full-time departments were opened with full cycle of training. For the purpose of improving the training level of the school-leavers the preparatory courses were established.Material and technical basis of the faculty constantly increased. Existing laboratories and workshops were re-equipped and expanded, and new ones were established. A new major “Automation and Telemechanics” with full-time and evening forms of training was introduced. The first 70 students of the evening form of training obtained the degree in Mechanical Engineering.180 engineers graduated from the General Technical Faculty. It came true owing to the work of highly qualified teaching staff. By the end 98 teachers had been working at the faculty, 39 of them were Associate Professors. Research work is an integral part of both teaching and scientific activity. Despite the tough period of the faculty development, the departments were able to focus on methodological and scientific work. They managed to provide students with text-books, laboratory practice instructions, graphic tasks, etc. Special attention was paid to scientific researches and close collaboration with both industrial enterprises and scientific institutions of former USSR ZSTU successfully carried out educational activity. Both teaching skills and scientific and research work of the staff were developing. Students received highly qualified educational services. After graduation from the General-Technical Faculty students had the opportunity to complete their studies at KPI and other higher educational establishments of the former USSR. A lot of alumni of ZhGTF became leading specialists of different enterprises of Zhytomyr region. An important role in the life of the Branch was played by sports. More than 30 cups and prizes were the evidence of the achievements of Physical Education Department. The Branch teams have begun to participate in sports contests among Ukrainian educational institutions. In 1982 female volleyball players won the second place and were awarded with silver medals. One of the most popular and most beloved sports branch is basketball. So, it is natural that the team of athletes has achieved high results in this kind of sport. ZSTU is the modern educational complex with well-equipped laboratories, sport complex, tennis courts, a stadium, a refectory, a sanatorium and three halls of residence. The library and its own publishing department allow the University to provide students with educational and methodological literature. ZSTU has its own website in the Ukrainian and English languages. Local computer network is connected to the Internet. Zhytomyr Branch of KPI trained nearly 6000 highly qualified professionals whose demand in the industrial centers of Ukraine had always exceeded supply. The Branch had an authoritative teaching staff with master and doctoral academic degrees, and gradually it became a ground for highly qualified scientific personnel. Everything done for the previous 50 years should be considered as a significant starting point.
      2. The Ramon Magsaysay Technological University, a merger of three public education institutions in the province of Zambales, was established under the Republic Act 8498 enacted on February 12, 1998, through the initiative of Congressman Antonio M. Diaz. The University Charter integrated the former Ramon Magsaysay Polytechnic College (RMPC) in Iba, the Western Luzon Agricultural College (WLAC) in San Marcelino, and the Candelaria School of Fisheries (CSF) in Candelaria. The strengths of its parent-institutions, which had existed since the early 1900s, served as RMTU's springboard for its accelerated growth and development. The RMPC in 1998, which is now RMTU's Main Campus, was founded as a farm school in 1910. It was converted into a local trade school in 1919. Through the years, it metamorphosed into Zambales Trade School in 1933, Western Luzon School of Arts and Trades in 1953, Zambales School of Arts and Trades in 1957 Ramon Magsaysay Memorial School of Arts and Trades in 1961. It became a DECS-supervised College (RMPC) in 1993 and a chartered state college in 1995. WLAC, now the San Marcelino Campus, started as a farm school in 1927. It became the Zambales Rural High School in 1933, the Zambales National Agricultural School in 1960, the Western Luzon Junior Agricultural College in 1977, and eventually evolved into a full-fledged state college in 1985. WLAC's integration into the university system also included its satellite campus in Botolan (1993) as well as its extension classes in the SBMA Compound (1996-2001) and Subic (1999-2003). The phase-out of SBMA and Subic campuses gave rise to RMTU-Castillejos Campus starting June 2003. With its component faculty and physical facilities, the CSF-Post Secondary Department is known today as the RMTU-Candelaria Campus. Established in 1965, CSF started as a secondary vocational high school and eventually offered post-secondary, non-degree courses under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Dr. Feliciano S. Rosete served as University President effective February 12, 2001, upon RMTU's full operation as a multi-campus university system after a three-year transition period with integrated budgetary appropriations 2001 General Appropriations Act. With a viable organizational structure, the institution transformed dramatically as it accelerated its component campuses' full integration. Through a strong partnership with the Provincial Government, DepEd, and municipal governments, the University established LGU-subsidized satellite campuses in Masinloc, Castillejos, and Sta. Cruz, in the year 2002, 2003 and 2004, respectively. Faculty development and infrastructure build-up were intensified. Degree programs increased from 12 to 65 in the last ten years. Enrolment expanded from 2,000 to more than 8,000 per semester over the same period. Massive scholarships from various stakeholders attracted more and more students. Graduates registered commendable performance in licensure examinations, especially in electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering and other flagship programs. In addition to its Php 93.0M annual budget from the National Government, incomes from revenue-generating projects and self-liquidating academic programs reached as high as Php 80.0M per year. Major curricular programs attained various accreditation levels, and the University achieved an unprecedented Level III-A status under the CHED-DBM-PASUC Leveling Scheme. The University was also included among the top 30 higher education institutions (HEIs) recognized by the People's Republic of China, South Korea, and other technology-oriented countries. Moreover, RMTU has recently scored significant contributions in terms of its mandated function to generate new scientific knowledge and appropriate technology along with its fields of expertise. In 2008, it won the "Best Research Paper Award" in agriculture among 26 CLARRDEC-member agencies. In the same year, the University ranked second among hundreds of PCARRD-member agencies nationwide. In 2009, the DOST-CLIERRDEC adjudged RMTU as the topnotcher0 in environmental remediation research. And in September 2010, the International Society for Southeast Asian Agricultural Sciences (ISSAAS-Central Luzon Chapter) awarded RMTU for having the best agricultural research paper in the region. Likewise, the University also takes pride in its productive mango orchards and processed products, especially mango wine. The University also serves as a major supplier of quality grafted mango seedlings (Sweet Elena Variety) to several mango entrepreneurs nationwide through its commercial nurseries. Upon the expiration of the term of President Feliciano S. Rosete on February 13, 2013, Dr. Elizabeth N. Farin was designated by the Board of Regents as Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the RMTU President effective February 14, 2013. She held Office until March 20, 2013. Barely thirty-six days in Office, was Dr. Farin's legacy to ensure stability, efficiency, and effectiveness in the management of the University during the transition period while waiting for the Board of Regents to select and appoint the new RMTU President. She redirected her research expertise into good governance through responsive financial management, people-oriented leadership, and transparency. On March 20, 2013, in its Special Meeting, the Board of Regents appointed Dr. Cornelio C. Garcia as President of the University from March 21, 2013, to March 20, 2017. President Garcia is setting the impetus of his Administration as he pursues his goals and objectives and framework of governance- ISERVEU, which stands for: I – Intensely Dedicated, Visionary and Strategic Leadership S – Synergistic Curricular Development and R and D Agenda E –Expansion of Income Generating Projects R – Reputable and Responsive Governance V – Vigorous Faculty/Staff Development Program and Values Reformation Through Transformational Leadership Training E – Extension Program for Comprehensive Rural Development, Job Creation, Livelihood Development, Poverty Alleviation, Health and Nutrition, Climate Change Mitigation, etc. U – Upgrading Program for Classrooms, Laboratory Rooms, Laboratory Equipment, Library, Purchase of Updated Textbooks, Journals and Other Reference Materials, Students' Dormitories, Sports and Recreational Facilities, Health Clinics and Canteens, Marketing Center and Other Facilities. To date, RMTU stands proud with its high-performing seven (7) campuses, 32-degree programs, five non-degree programs, senior high school, and junior high school with more than 10,120 students, 811 strong faculty and staff, and viable international linkages and consortium agreements. A century of visionary zeal, hard work, dedication, and commitment of its founders, pioneering and contemporary administrators, benefactors, and other stakeholders has indeed paid off.

      6. The Rizal Technological University believes in nurturing Filipinos' creative potentials to excel in the dynamic world order and advocates committed to global peace and sustainable development and a sense of moral responsibility and cultural patronage. The RIZAL TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY (RTU) was established on July 11, 1969, upon the approval by the Secretary of Education in response to the utmost request of the Provincial Board of Rizal, headed by Governor Isidro S. Rodriguez, to put up a higher education institution in the Province of Rizal. It was first known as the College of Rizal. The College of Rizal opened its classes on July 14, 1969, with course offerings in business administration, education, and liberal arts. On March 20, 1975, the College of Rizal in Pasig and Rizal Technical High School in Mandaluyong, both situated in the Province of Rizal, were merged and converted into the Rizal Technological Colleges under Presidential Decree (P.D.) No. 674 The Decree authorized the expansion of curricular programs and the promotion of researches in the development and conservation of natural resources in the Province of Rizal. The promulgation of P.D. No. 751, on July 25, 1975, amended specific provisions of P.D. No. 674 and made the operation and maintenance of the Rizal Technological Colleges a joint project and undertaking of the Provincial Government of Rizal and the MERALCO Foundation, Incorporated. This Decree broadened the support and strengthened the organization of the College. In 1975, upon the establishment of the Metropolitan Manila Commission, Pasig was transferred to the territorial jurisdiction of the MMC. The Province of Rizal could not continue supporting the Colleges financially. Several alternatives were proposed to save the RTC. One was to transfer the management and administration of the RTC to one of the existing towns in the Province of Rizal or Metropolitan Manila. The worst possible alternative was to phase out the Colleges. The leadership, the faculty, and the studentry of the Colleges would not allow this to happen, however, so they worked out the possible nationalization of the RTC. Through the support of the Metropolitan Manila Governor Madam Imelda Marcos, the RTC constituency, with the Kabataang Barangay School Chapter of the RTC led by Dr. Jesus Rodrigo F. Torres, and the Collegiate and High School Faculty Clubs at the forefront of the struggle for survival, President Ferdinand E. Marcos signed into law Presidential Decree 1341-A on April 1, 1978, converting the Rizal Technological Colleges into a State College. The Decree, however, was received only on October 13, 1978; thus, the RTC has been celebrating its College Week, and later its University Week on the days centered on October 13. After 19 years, the College was converted into the Rizal Technological University on October 11, 1997, by Republic Act No. 8365. The University is tasked to: provide highly professional, scientific, technological, and special instructions in the fields of engineering and technology, education, business, and entrepreneurial technology and the programs and promote research, extension, and advance studies in its areas of specialization. Through its Cooperative Education Program, it shall continue to lead in the provision of work-integrated learning by a partnership with industry and students' involvement in civic activities. Today, RTU has six campuses. The main campus is located at Boni Avenue, Barangay Malamig, Mandaluyong City. Other campuses are situated in Barangay San Miguel, Pasig City Barangay San Roque, Antipolo, Rizal Barangay San Salvador, Baras, Rizal Kawit, Cavite and Palauan, Occidental Mindoro. 9. Toyota Technological Institute (TTI) is the smallest, but perhaps, the unique college of technology ever built in Japan. It was born in 1981 as one of the social contributions of Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), following the will of TMC's founder, the late Kiichiro Toyoda; he had a hope of setting up a college when TMC reached some stage of success, as he believed that the promotion of high-level education and research would be essential in building advanced technology and industry in Japan. At TTI, some 50 faculty members conduct top-level research and provide quality education to about 500 students, following our motto: "Respect the spirit of research and creativity, and always strive to stay ahead of the times." The motto is the words of Sakichi Toyoda, an outstanding inventor, who laid the basis of the Toyota group about a century ago by his invention of automated weaving machines. This spirit of creativity has been passed onto his son, Kiichiro, and further down to TTI. It serves now as the guiding principle of our daily educational and research activities. Students of TTI attend first a set of core lectures to master the everyday basis of engineering disciplines and learn the fundamentals of human beings and our social systems. Then, each student chooses a specific field, where more in-depth studies are made to establish his/her specialty with multi-disciplinary perspectives. TTI students also undergo extensive hands-on experiential studies on-campus and off-campus internships in industry and overseas research institutions. Both the undergraduate and graduate students get high-level research experiences in well-equipped laboratories to nurture their ingenuity and creativity. In addition to our endeavors for leading engineering education, every possible effort is being made to make TTI one of the high-level research universities. For this objective, TTI provides each faculty a supportive environment to accelerate quality research of respective disciplines simultaneously; TTI coordinates a set of such research works to promote several multi-disciplinary research programs by using the framework of research centers and by arranging internal and external supports. Smart Vehicle Research Center and Smart Energy Technology Center are two such examples, where outstanding research activities on autonomous vehicles and high-efficiency solar cells are conducted through academia-industry collaborations. One of our aims in establishing Toyota Technological Institute (TTI) was to provide adequate educational and research opportunities with a low financial burden to those who, though eager to study, entered the workforce without experiencing higher education. Such opportunities help to cultivate people who will contribute to society. We have been fortunate to receive employees from many companies who recognize the significance of being a student and the importance of learning through first-hand practice.
