  1. The early days of the University School of Physical Education in Krakow were connected with a 2-year course organized at the Jagiellonian University in 1893. It was intended for candidates for gymnastics teachers, who would later work at secondary schools and teachers’ training colleges. That course, conducted at the Medical Department of the Jagiellonian University, gave rise to a 2-year School of Physical Education in 1913. Apart from the schooling of teachers, the School organized lectures and practical classes for the entire community of the University students. The course and then the School of Physical Education were pioneering institutions that educated PE teachers at a university level in Poland.   2. The Wrocław University School of Physical Education was established in 1946 as the Institute of Physical Education with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Wrocław. Its co-founder and the first rector was prof. dr hab. Andrzej Klisiecki. In 1950 the institute became a separate three-year school, the Wrocław School of Physical Education, which was granted the right to confer master’s degrees in 1956 and adapted a four-year learning cycle. In 1960 the Unit of Therapeutic Rehabilitation was created, which was the beginning of today’s Faculty of Physiotherapy. In 1967 the University implemented the first extramural programs and was renamed the University School of Physical Education in 1972. The University School of Physical Education in Wrocław has three faculties: the Faculty of Physical Education, the Faculty of Physiotherapy, and the Faculty of Sports Science. The University offers six programs, in the form of full-time, extramural, postgraduate, and doctoral studies. The Faculties of Physical Education and Physiotherapy are fully authorized to grant bachelor’s and master’s degrees as well as confer academic degrees of doctor and habilitated doctor of physical culture sciences. The history of famous Polish coaches and sportspeople, Olympic, World and European Championship medallists is linked with the University. Kazimierz Górski, Bogdan Cybulski, Zbigniew Pietrzykowski, Józef Zapędzki, Ryszard Szurkowski, Ryszard Witke, Urszula Włodarczyk, Leszek Antonowicz, Mieczysław Łopatka, Jerzy Światek, Czesław Ptak, Wacław Skarul, Wiesław Błach, Rafał Kubacki, Renata Mauer-Różańska, Tomasz Motyka, Andrzej Piątek, Andrzej Kijowski and many more have graduated from the University. The mission of the University is to contribute to the improvement of the health of Polish people and the quality of their lives by spreading and extending knowledge in the field of physical culture and by increasing the skills of professional specialists to apply knowledge in various fields of physical education, motor recreation, sports and physiotherapy for the benefit of individual citizens and the whole society by developing a physical culture in Poland. The mission of the University is also to cultivate and develop academic traditions, strengthen the ethos of knowledge, freedom, and respect for the European principles of democracy.   3. The Academy of Physical Education in Katowice is one of six such academies in Poland and the only one in the Silesia region. It specializes in educating teachers of physical education, coaches, specialists in physical rehabilitation, and specialists in recreation and tourism. International students may be offered individual consultation in English. The teaching staff of the academy is composed of lecturers with established research and teaching qualifications, who in many cases are also active athletes or coaches. The Main Library of AWF Warsaw has been open since November 1929. It performs service and didactic functions. It also operates as a center of scientific information in the field of physical culture, sports, rehabilitation, tourism, and related sciences. Its resources are used mainly by students and academic staff, however, the library is open to users from outside who are interested in the subjects taught at AWF Warsaw. When it comes to resources of the library, there are more than 90 thousand books and 16 thousand volumes of periodicals. There are many sports facilities on the premises of AWF Warsaw and its total area amounts to 113 040 m2. Among the facilities, there is an athletics stadium suitable for hosting premium events, halls: athletics, games hall, gymnastics, team sports, indoor swimming pool with trampolines for jumping, specialized pavilions for martial arts and weight training classes, pitches for team sports: rugby, soccer, beach volleyball, and forest training areas. "Women's sports should be elegant and feminine, producing healthy mothers," said Tokyo Nikaido, the founder of the Nikaido Taisojuku (Nikaido Gymnastic Private School), which was the forerunner of the Japan Women's College of Physical Education. Nikaido went to the UK, a country of advanced sports, and studied for two years at King's Field College. During her stay in the UK, she found her mission in life to be a sports educator. After returning to Japan, Nikaido founded Nikaido Taisojuku believing in, "Women's sports by women." Adopting the philosophies of the schools at which she had studied in the UK, she formed her educational philosophy: "To achieve the ideal of women's sports which combine both strength and elegance, the school needs to take a holistic approach to education and a broad perspective of people's lives, including food, clothing, and shelter, to raise an elite." Nikaido's philosophy was for producing outstanding teachers of physical education, and the philosophy has been passed on to today's students. Nikaido Taisojuku produced 500 up-and-coming teachers of physical education within four years of its foundation. The superb sprinter Kinue Hitomi, Japan's first female Olympic medalist in the Taisho Era, was one of the graduates. These proud traditions have nurtured Japan Women's College of Physical Education. The Career Center of the college provides unique, influential career and job support programs. The graduates are active in a wide range of industries. Around half of them find positions in the private sector, many take up professions, becoming teachers or instructors of lifelong sports. In contrast, others pursue careers in various fields, such as public services, medical services, welfare services, and business. The objectives of the Graduate School are to research and teach scientific theories and their applications to sports and sports-related fields, develop leaders and researchers with a high degree of professionalism, and contribute to the improvement and advancement in sports science.
  7. The Belarusian State University of Physical Education is the only specialized institution of higher education in the country for training in the field of physical culture, sport, and tourism. The University provides all kinds of educational services: pre-university preparation, university postgraduate education, retraining, and updating specialists in the field of physical culture, sport, and tourism. BSUPC actively conducts basic and applied research on elite sports, mass sports, health-improving, and adaptive physical culture, tourism, develop international relations with foreign education institutions, participate in sports competitions of various levels. Currently, we are training 4,581 students. There are 51master's51master's degree students, 56 postgraduate students, two doctoral degree students, including the citizens of Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Estonia, Syria, Libya, Iran, Iraq, China, China, and Israel. Over the years, we have had students from Tunisia, Jordan, Lebanon, Bosnia, and Herzegovina and other countries. At the University of Physical Culture, there are two sports-pedagogical faculties, the Faculty of Health-Oriented Physical Training and Tourism, the Faculty of Pre-university Training, the Institute of Tourism, the Institute of updating and retraining for managers and specialists, four centers, 34 academic departments, postgraduate and doctoral degree courses, the Theses Defense Board as well as other units and supporting services. The educational process is carried out by about 400 people, including eight doctors and 96 candidates of sciences, 12 professors, 88 associate professors. To ensure the educational process and conduct the research, the University has comfortable auditoriums and lecture halls, specialized labs and classrooms, which are equipped with modern teaching aids, instruments and specialized equipment, video cameras, audio, and video recorders, digital terminal, OHRs and multimedia projectors, scanners, computers, medical diagnostic equipment. In recent years, the country's central sports university's material base and technical equipment have been significantly improved. The sports training complex was built, which houses facilities for basketball and handball, volleyball and tennis, freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, the football hall, the gyms for weightlifting, boxing, fencing, gymnastics, precise mechanical action sports, as well as the combined dance hall, skiing center, a shooting gallery, and a medical center. In 2014, we built and put two sports training facilities, the Swimming Pool and the Indoor Athletic Track. The University cooperates with the related departments of other domestic educational institutions. It contributes to the development of relations with leading foreign sports universities in Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, Bulgaria, Latvia, Sweden, Germany, China, and other countries. BSUPC has guided to the elite sport many outstanding athletes and coaches, including Alexander Medved, Romuald Klim, Vladimir Parfenovich, Elena Belova, Vitaly Scherbo, Ellina Zvereva, Ekaterina Karsten, Alexei Grishin, Dmitry Dashchynski, Victoria Azarenka, Alexandra Gerasimenya, Lubou Cherkashina, Anton Kushnir, Vladislav Goncharov, and many other Olympians has known worldwide. The Belarusian State University of Physical Culture pays special attention to international students' does the best to integrate foreign culturalists in Belarusian living comfortable and culture surroundings, to create comfort conditions for studies, leisure, and sports activities. The University extended the deadline for the foreigners'foreigners' entrance applications. The number of Russian language lessons was increased, and what is more, BSUPC provides international students with the opportunity to handle their favorite sports. The Belarusian State University of Physical Culture has grown from a small sports college, which in 1929 numbered several dozens of students. Nevertheless, just a few years later, in June 1937, 250 students of the Belarusian Physical Training Technical School took part in the All-Union sports parade on the Red Square in Moscow. On July 22, 1937, the Belarusian Physical Training Technical School was reorganized into the Institute of Physical Culture of the Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic. Before 1941, the Institute prepared 102 specialists in the field of physical culture and sport. The Second World War interrupted academic life. About two hundred teachers and students of the Institute were courageously fighting against fascists, joining the ranks of the Soviet Army and partisan detachments. Immediately after the liberation of Minsk from the German troops, on October 1, 1944, the Institute resumed the work. Its buildings and sports facilities were restored mainly by teachers and students. In subsequent years, the Institute has significantly expanded its educational and production facilities. New dormitories, a swimming pool, a stadium, sports facilities were built, and in 1983, a new educational building appeared. In April 1992, based on the Belarusian State Institute of Physical Culture (the winner of the "Red Banner of Labour" award), the Academy of Physical Education and Sports of the Republic of Belarus (since March 2001 known as Belarusian State Academy of Physical Culture) was established. As new departments were opening, there were more and more students. In 2003, the Academy was renamed into the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture (BSUPC). It bears this name to this day. In 2007, the University celebrated its 70th anniversary, which was an important milestone. In the following 2017, BSUPC will hold various festivities devoted to the 80th anniversary of the University.   10. The Academy of Physical Education in Katowice is one of six such academies in Poland and the only one in the Silesia region. Among the facilities, there is an athletics stadium suitable for hosting premium events, halls: athletics, games hall, gymnastics, team sports, indoor swimming pool with trampolines for jumping, specialized pavilions for martial arts and weight training classes, pitches for team sports: rugby, soccer, beach volleyball, and forest training areas. "Women's sports should be elegant and feminine, producing healthy mothers," said Tokyo Nikaido, the founder of the Nikaido Taisojuku (Nikaido Gymnastic Private School), which was the forerunner of the Japan Women's College of Physical Education. Nikaido went to the UK, a country of advanced sports, and studied for two years at King's Field College. During her stay in the UK, she found her mission in life to be a sports educator. After returning to Japan, Nikaido founded Nikaido Taisojuku believing in, "Women's sports by women." Adopting the philosophies of the schools at which she had studied in the UK, she formed her educational philosophy: "To achieve the ideal of women's sports which combine both strength and elegance, the school needs to take a holistic approach to education and a broad perspective of people's lives, including food, clothing, and shelter, to raise an elite." Nikaido's philosophy was for producing outstanding teachers of physical education, and the philosophy has been passed on to today's students. Nikaido Taisojuku produced 500 up-and-coming teachers of physical education within four years of its foundation. The superb sprinter Kinue Hitomi, Japan's first female Olympic medalist in the Taisho Era, was one of the graduates. These proud traditions have nurtured Japan Women's College of Physical Education.   16. Traditions of the university have got powerful roots and sources. The story of the future Siberian state university of physical education started 60 years ago. Lesgaft's follower professor A.S.Pirussky established the first physical education institute in Siberia( in Tomsk) in 1920. But it existed only till 1923 owing to the economic difficulties of that time. Lack of the educational establishment, training highly qualified personnel in physical education and sport on such a vast territory as Siberia did not last for a long time. In 30-40 training schools in physical education were opened in several Siberian cities (Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk), including Omsk training school, which was opened in 1945 the base of school number66 (the first director was M.A.Kuznetsov). In 5 years, it was transformed into Omsk State Institute of Physical Education according to the Committee of physical education and sport of USSR №164 from April 27, 1950, under the Council of Ministers' order of USSR№ 1046-r from April 21, 1950. In September of 1950, 100 young men and women (half of whom are technical school graduates in physical education) began to study. It was students and teachers who rebuilt the institute. Thanks to their efforts, gyms for wrestling, boxing, calisthenics, fencing, sports games appeared, and accommodations for cycling, laboratories, workshops, and car parks. The majority of the faculty members had no experience working in the higher educational establishment because they had just finished institutes in physical education. Having graduated from the central state institute of physical education, L.I.Nozhkin, V.F.Gromyko, A.A.Makarov (skiing) N.N.Nigachev, B.A.Belyaev, V.I.Kukushkin, A.G.Strjukova (sports games) E.P.Rezunov, F.B.Vorovich, V.K.Filippov, A.M.Dikunov (gymnastics), Kolesnikov couple and N.D.Rjabkov N.S.Trubin (fencing), G.G.Tretjak (swimming), G.Makarova (track and field) worked here... In 1953 in Omsk state institute of physical education, the next group of young teachers: from Saint Petersburg National State University of Physical Education, Sports and Health Named after P. F. Lesgaft - spouses Zhuchkovy (he is a thrower-athlete, she is a skater) and hockey player V.P.Voronov from Kyiv - athletes O.Kobranov and V.Zaporozhanov basketball players - spouses Elistratovy from central state institute of physical education - V.N.Golubev and J.A.Dmitriev, and also the graduate of the Leningrad university the teacher of a foreign language E.P.Nikolaeva (Larionova). As a result of struggling against t cosmopolitism in 1950, D.D.Donskoy was banished to Omsk D.D.Donskoy. The versatile sportsman, the passionate skier, scientist - the author of many articles, monographs, and textbooks on the biomechanic, was the first candidate of science and the founder of research work at the institute. University of physical education and sport includes five departments, 24 chairs, scientific and research institute of human being's activity in extreme conditions, department of further professional education, Ph.D. studying, center for doctoral training, dissertation council, historical and sports museum, advanced courses for coaches and other subdivisions and auxiliary services. The university has good studying and sports accommodations, including an integrated swimming center, a track-and-field indoor stadium, a stadium with football fields and tracks, 25 sports halls, classrooms, laboratories with technology-based aids. Lviv State University of Physical Culture - a higher educational institution, which appeared on the centuries-old traditions of national physical culture, is a significant part of Ukrainian culture. Normative terms of Ph. D. training in the postgraduate course is four years. The amount of the educational components of the educational and scientific program of Ph. D. training is 30-60 ECTS credits. The decision on admission to the entrance exams to postgraduate courses pronounced by committee on the interview results, review of essay and presented scientific works took into account the opinion alleged by supervisor. The applicant who comes to a postgraduate study reported in the term of a week. According to requirements, admission to doctoral courses is carried out based on scientific, scientific, and technological advances for the chosen specialty. To doctoral courses are accepted persons, who have a degree of Ph. It coordinates structural division, which aims to develop and implement a strategy for the university's international activities, the expansion, and deepening of the foreign contacts, promote international cooperation in education and science, provide visa support, acceptance, and training of international students at the university. For the first time in Ukraine, in Lviv, a hundred years ago was originated the following kinds of sport: football, basketball, hockey, water polo, archery, cycling. In 1912, at the Olympic Games in Stockholm, Galicia had a representative - sprinter Vladislav Ponurskoho. In general, long before the establishment of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, Lviv 96 athletes, speaking at the Olympics under the flags of Austria-Hungary, Poland, and the USSR, participated in the competitions of 19 kinds of sports, from where they brought 46 medals: 15 gold, 16 silver, and 15 bronze. So creation in Lviv in 1946 Lviv State Institute of Physical Culture had presupposition. May 7, 1946, by the USSR Council of Ministers based on the College of Physical Culture, was established Lviv State Institute of Physical Culture. His task is to prepare highly qualified personnel, especially for the USSR's western regions and scientific development of physical education and sports, scientific and methodological assistance to various sports organizations. Initially, in the Institute was a teaching faculty, 15 departments, 150 students enrolled. In May 1958 institute was given a consultative point of correspondence of the Kyiv Institute of Physical Culture. It started in LDIFK distance learning, and in 1964 formed a separate department. It should be noted that in 1959 the Institute opened school coaches with two years of training, which lasted until 1964. Also, in 1960 began working evening division. In 1969/1970 was opened LDIFK sports department. At that time, specialists were trained at three faculties: teaching, sports, and correspondence. If the 1956 school was 542 students, then in 1974, 1,245 people were trained in stationary and 434 extra-mural students. In the 70s years in the Institute taught: Victor Chukarin - absolute world champion in 1964, USSR - 1949, 1951, 1955 XV-XVI Olympic Games Andrievsky Vadim - USSR Champion in Fencing (1946), honored coach of the USSR, Vladimir Safronov - a champion of the USSR (1975), silver medalist in gymnastics world Cup (1975) and many other celebrities. 1981 Lviv State Institute of Physical Education, one of the country's leading sports educational institutions, celebrated its 35th anniversary. Then he had a structural reorganization. New perspectives for the development of the Institute came after the proclamation of independence of Ukraine in 1991. Given the centuries-old traditions of the Ukrainian Physical Culture, it was necessary to create a national system of physical education and sports, from the introduction of the Ukrainian language in spravoznavstvo and teaching, curriculum development and programs, the publication of educational literature, the introduction of new disciplines, including the history of Ukraine, history of Ukrainian culture, history of Ukrainian sports movement, processing, and finishing and developing Ukrainian sports terminology and education specialists sports profile, including athletes who have felt the connection with the state in which they were born, live, study, for which they compete in different sports forums. To address these challenging tasks, it needed proper material resources, financing, and nationally conscious professionals. This was possible under the favorable political, economic, and spiritual situation in the country. Indeed, the Lviv State Institute of Physical Culture's leadership had to overcome the difficulties experienced by the young state. With an appointment to the post of the rector, the famous sports specialist, master of sports, champion of Ukraine, and the USSR Honored Coach of Ukraine Miroslav S. Hertsyka, in the Institute's development, entered a new period. Lviv State University of Physical Culture - a higher educational institution, which appeared on the centuries-old traditions of national physical culture, is a significant part of Ukrainian culture. Normative terms of Ph. D. training in the postgraduate course is four years. The amount of the educational components of the educational and scientific program of Ph. D. training is 30-60 ECTS credits. The decision on admission to the entrance exams to postgraduate courses pronounced by committee on the interview results, review of essay and presented scientific works took into account the opinion alleged by supervisor. The applicant who comes to a postgraduate study reported in the term of a week. According to requirements, admission to doctoral courses is carried out based on scientific, scientific, and technological advances for the chosen specialty. To doctoral courses are accepted persons, who have a degree of Ph. Receiving applications and documents, entrance examinations, competitive selection, and enrollment lasts during the whole year. The international office was founded in 2008. It coordinates structural division, which aims to develop and implement a strategy for the university's international activities, the expansion, and deepening of the foreign contacts, promote international cooperation in education and science, provide visa support, acceptance, and training of international students at the university. For the first time in Ukraine, in Lviv, a hundred years ago was originated the following kinds of sport: football, basketball, hockey, water polo, archery, cycling. In 1912, at the Olympic Games in Stockholm, Galicia had a representative - sprinter Vladislav Ponurskoho. In general, long before the establishment of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, Lviv 96 athletes, speaking at the Olympics under the flags of Austria-Hungary, Poland, and the USSR, participated in the competitions of 19 kinds of sports, from where they brought 46 medals: 15 gold, 16 silver, and 15 bronze. So creation in Lviv in 1946 Lviv State Institute of Physical Culture had presupposition. May 7, 1946, by the USSR Council of Ministers based on the College of Physical Culture, was established Lviv State Institute of Physical Culture. His task is to prepare highly qualified personnel, especially for the USSR's western regions and scientific development of physical education and sports, scientific and methodological assistance to various sports organizations. Initially, in the Institute was a teaching faculty, 15 departments, 150 students enrolled. In May 1958 institute was given a consultative point of correspondence of the Kyiv Institute of Physical Culture. It started in LDIFK distance learning, and in 1964 formed a separate department. It should be noted that in 1959 the Institute opened school coaches with two years of training, which lasted until 1964. Also, in 1960 began working evening division. In 1969/1970 was opened LDIFK sports department. At that time, specialists were trained at three faculties: teaching, sports, and correspondence. If the 1956 school was 542 students, then in 1974, 1,245 people were trained in stationary and 434 extra-mural students. In the 70s years in the Institute taught: Victor Chukarin - absolute world champion in 1964, USSR - 1949, 1951, 1955 XV-XVI Olympic Games Andrievsky Vadim - USSR Champion in Fencing (1946), honored coach of the USSR, Vladimir Safronov - a champion of the USSR (1975), silver medalist in gymnastics world Cup (1975) and many other celebrities. 1981 Lviv State Institute of Physical Education, one of the country's leading sports educational institutions, celebrated its 35th anniversary. Then he had a structural reorganization. New perspectives for the development of the Institute came after the proclamation of independence of Ukraine in 1991. Given the centuries-old traditions of the Ukrainian Physical Culture, it was necessary to create a national system of physical education and sports, from the introduction of the Ukrainian language in spravoznavstvo and teaching, curriculum development and programs, the publication of educational literature, the introduction of new disciplines, including the history of Ukraine, history of Ukrainian culture, history of Ukrainian sports movement, processing, and finishing and developing Ukrainian sports terminology and education specialists sports profile, including athletes who have felt the connection with the state in which they were born, live, study, for which they compete in different sports forums.   21. Traditions of the university have got powerful roots and sources. The story of the future Siberian state university of physical education started 60 years ago. Lesgaft's follower professor A.S.Pirussky established the first physical education institute in Siberia( in Tomsk) in 1920. But it existed only till 1923 owing to the economic difficulties of that time. Lack of the educational establishment, training highly qualified personnel in physical education and sport on such a vast territory as Siberia did not last for a long time. In 30-40 training schools in physical education were opened in several Siberian cities (Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk), including Omsk training school, which was opened in 1945 the base of school number66 (the first director was M.A.Kuznetsov). In 5 years, it was transformed into Omsk State Institute of Physical Education according to the Committee of physical education and sport of USSR №164 from April 27, 1950, under the Council of Ministers' order of USSR№ 1046-r from April 21, 1950. In September of 1950, 100 young men and women (half of whom are technical school graduates in physical education) began to study. It was students and teachers who rebuilt the institute. Thanks to their efforts, gyms for wrestling, boxing, calisthenics, fencing, sports games appeared, and accommodations for cycling, laboratories, workshops, and car parks. The majority of the faculty members had no experience working in the higher educational establishment because they had just finished institutes in physical education. Having graduated from the central state institute of physical education, L.I.Nozhkin, V.F.Gromyko, A.A.Makarov (skiing) N.N.Nigachev, B.A.Belyaev, V.I.Kukushkin, A.G.Strjukova (sports games) E.P.Rezunov, F.B.Vorovich, V.K.Filippov, A.M.Dikunov (gymnastics), Kolesnikov couple and N.D.Rjabkov N.S.Trubin (fencing), G.G.Tretjak (swimming), G.Makarova (track and field) worked here... In 1953 in Omsk state institute of physical education, the next group of young teachers: from Saint Petersburg National State University of Physical Education, Sports and Health Named after P. F. Lesgaft - spouses Zhuchkovy (he is a thrower-athlete, she is a skater) and hockey player V.P.Voronov from Kyiv - athletes O.Kobranov and V.Zaporozhanov basketball players - spouses Elistratovy from central state institute of physical education - V.N.Golubev and J.A.Dmitriev, and also the graduate of the Leningrad university the teacher of a foreign language E.P.Nikolaeva (Larionova). As a result of struggling against t cosmopolitism in 1950, D.D.Donskoy was banished to Omsk D.D.Donskoy. The versatile sportsman, the passionate skier, scientist - the author of many articles, monographs, and textbooks on the biomechanic, was the first candidate of science and the founder of research work at the institute. University of physical education and sport includes five departments, 24 chairs, scientific and research institute of human being's activity in extreme conditions, department of further professional education, Ph.D. studying, center for doctoral training, dissertation council, historical and sports museum, advanced courses for coaches and other subdivisions and auxiliary services. The university has good studying and sports accommodations, including an integrated swimming center, a track-and-field indoor stadium, a stadium with football fields and tracks, 25 sports halls, classrooms, laboratories with technology-based aids.   22. The Belarusian State University of Physical Education is the only specialized institution of higher education in the country for training in the field of physical culture, sport, and tourism. The University provides all kinds of educational services: pre-university preparation, university postgraduate education, retraining, and updating specialists in the field of physical culture, sport, and tourism. BSUPC actively conducts basic and applied research on elite sports, mass sports, health-improving, and adaptive physical culture, tourism, develop international relations with foreign education institutions, participate in sports competitions of various levels. Currently, we are training 4,581 students. There are 51master's51master's degree students, 56 postgraduate students, two doctoral degree students, including the citizens of Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Estonia, Syria, Libya, Iran, Iraq, China, China, and Israel. Over the years, we have had students from Tunisia, Jordan, Lebanon, Bosnia, and Herzegovina and other countries. At the University of Physical Culture, there are two sports-pedagogical faculties, the Faculty of Health-Oriented Physical Training and Tourism, the Faculty of Pre-university Training, the Institute of Tourism, the Institute of updating and retraining for managers and specialists, four centers, 34 academic departments, postgraduate and doctoral degree courses, the Theses Defense Board as well as other units and supporting services. The educational process is carried out by about 400 people, including eight doctors and 96 candidates of sciences, 12 professors, 88 associate professors. To ensure the educational process and conduct the research, the University has comfortable auditoriums and lecture halls, specialized labs and classrooms, which are equipped with modern teaching aids, instruments and specialized equipment, video cameras, audio, and video recorders, digital terminal, OHRs and multimedia projectors, scanners, computers, medical diagnostic equipment. In recent years, the country's central sports university's material base and technical equipment have been significantly improved. The sports training complex was built, which houses facilities for basketball and handball, volleyball and tennis, freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, the football hall, the gyms for weightlifting, boxing, fencing, gymnastics, precise mechanical action sports, as well as the combined dance hall, skiing center, a shooting gallery, and a medical center. In 2014, we built and put two sports training facilities, the Swimming Pool and the Indoor Athletic Track. The University cooperates with the related departments of other domestic educational institutions. It contributes to the development of relations with leading foreign sports universities in Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, Bulgaria, Latvia, Sweden, Germany, China, and other countries. BSUPC has guided to the elite sport many outstanding athletes and coaches, including Alexander Medved, Romuald Klim, Vladimir Parfenovich, Elena Belova, Vitaly Scherbo, Ellina Zvereva, Ekaterina Karsten, Alexei Grishin, Dmitry Dashchynski, Victoria Azarenka, Alexandra Gerasimenya, Lubou Cherkashina, Anton Kushnir, Vladislav Goncharov, and many other Olympians has known worldwide. The Belarusian State University of Physical Culture pays special attention to international students' does the best to integrate foreign culturalists in Belarusian living comfortable and culture surroundings, to create comfort conditions for studies, leisure, and sports activities. The University extended the deadline for the foreigners'foreigners' entrance applications. The number of Russian language lessons was increased, and what is more, BSUPC provides international students with the opportunity to handle their favorite sports. The Belarusian State University of Physical Culture has grown from a small sports college, which in 1929 numbered several dozens of students. Nevertheless, just a few years later, in June 1937, 250 students of the Belarusian Physical Training Technical School took part in the All-Union sports parade on the Red Square in Moscow. On July 22, 1937, the Belarusian Physical Training Technical School was reorganized into the Institute of Physical Culture of the Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic. Before 1941, the Institute prepared 102 specialists in the field of physical culture and sport. The Second World War interrupted academic life. About two hundred teachers and students of the Institute were courageously fighting against fascists, joining the ranks of the Soviet Army and partisan detachments. Immediately after the liberation of Minsk from the German troops, on October 1, 1944, the Institute resumed the work. Its buildings and sports facilities were restored mainly by teachers and students. In subsequent years, the Institute has significantly expanded its educational and production facilities. New dormitories, a swimming pool, a stadium, sports facilities were built, and in 1983, a new educational building appeared. In April 1992, based on the Belarusian State Institute of Physical Culture (the winner of the "Red Banner of Labour" award), the Academy of Physical Education and Sports of the Republic of Belarus (since March 2001 known as Belarusian State Academy of Physical Culture) was established. As new departments were opening, there were more and more students. In 2003, the Academy was renamed into the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture (BSUPC). It bears this name to this day. In 2007, the University celebrated its 70th anniversary, which was an important milestone. In the following 2017, BSUPC will hold various festivities devoted to the 80th anniversary of the University. Today, BSUPC is the only specialized institution in the country that trains specialists for sports and tourism. Over the years of its existence, more than 27,000 people have graduated from the University.
