Russian State University for the Humanities

Russian State University for the Humanities grew out of Moscow State Institute for History and Archives. Its official birthday is 27 March 1991. The first round of admissions into RSUH took place in 1991. Despite its comparatively young age, RSUH has come to be one of the best among the country's most respected universities, has emerged as of the leading educational and research centers in Russia. Our University was the first to combine the words "Russian" and "humanities" in its name. We are proud and honored to bear this title, ever striving to affirm our status further. The progress we have made is recognized both within the country and abroad. In all the past years, RSUH has been one of the most sought-after institutions among prospective students. And we feel obliged not just to preserve but also to develop and enrich the legacy we enter the third decade of our history. University educational principles:

• The European two-level educational system (B.A. – M.A.) noticeably increases the number of training types and offers a possibility to study and work abroad.
• Integration of research and education allows students to develop research skills and acquire the necessary set of competencies.

RSUH's mission is to maintain and develop a leading scientific and educational institution in the humanities, social, and informational studies in Russia and beyond. RSUH strives to deliver its contribution to the processes of internationalization and humanitarisation of higher education and scholarship in Russia to perceive the functions of a socially-oriented institution promoting modern society's social and humanitarian values. We are targeting to raise the competitiveness of the Russian economy and further integrate our country into the global economy.

In its scientific research programs, RSUH will adhere to reaching new horizons in fundamental humanities sciences together with responding to the demands and challenges of the society in generating new product ideas, technologies, and products to bring value to the solution of the most critical issues of social development in Russia and its role as the part of the ever-changing world.

The RSUH has more than 250 partner educational institutions in Europe, the U.S., Canada, Asia, and Latin America. The RSUH works with the Konstanz University, the Humboldts Berlin University, Bochum University in Germany, with Université Paris-Sorbonne IV, Paris-VIII, with the universities of Nantes and Toulouse in France, with the universities of Milan, Naples, Rome and Venice in Italy, with the universities of Uppsala and Göteborg in Sweden, with the State Universities of Iowa and Ohio, with Middlebury College, Trinity College, Beloit College in the U.S., with Laval University in Canada, with the Chibo University in Japan, with the Seoul University in the Republic of Korea and with other universities and colleges as well.
