      About Me

      1. Imperial College London is a world-top ten university with an international reputation for excellence in teaching and research. Consistently rated amongst the world's best universities, Imperial is committed to developing the next generation of researchers, scientists, and academics through collaboration across disciplines. Located in London's heart, Imperial is a multidisciplinary space for education, research, translation, and commercialization, harnessing science and innovation to tackle global challenges. Global research-driven universities like Imperial College London have a central role in helping humanity address these changes and challenges by making discoveries, educating leaders, and developing innovations that benefit society. However, these universities will need to change to contribute to this future. In our Strategy 2015–2020, we set out how Imperial will be a source of new solutions, a contributor to a better future, a trusted partner, and a new paradigm of the global university. We will support an atmosphere and culture that embraces discovery. We will continue to be guided by our mission of achieving enduring excellence in research and education in science, engineering, medicine, and business for the benefit of society. We will shrink the time and distance between fundamental discovery and societal benefit. We will provide our students with the knowledge and experiences that equip them for their future roles as leaders. We will have the courage to take risks. We will remain true to our mission. While we cannot envision all of the challenges ahead, we believe that Imperial can contribute by focusing our research around four themes: discovery and the natural world engineering novel solutions health and well-being and leading the data revolution. Great discoveries begin with great people: talented individuals steeped in the knowledge of their core discipline, confident enough to work on risky, unsolved problems, adept at understanding and working with others from different fields, and immersed in an atmosphere of excellence. They are underpinned by talented support staff who put their full energy and passion into their work and our mission. We will make supporting and enabling all these people central to what we do. Our bright and energetic students are integral to our mission. We will enhance their experiences by embedding their education in cutting-edge research and providing increasing opportunities for them to use their talents in new entrepreneurial, creative, and practical ways. The Dyson School of Design Engineering is an example of how we will nurture the multifaceted talents of our students and develop them into future leaders. We have a tremendous asset in our highly successful alumni and friends. We will revitalize our relationship with them and encourage them to be a part of the Imperial College London of today and the future. Their knowledge, expertise, and experience will contribute to the intellectual power of the College. Across the world, people recognize that the changes and challenges we face require us to work together more effectively. Universities must drive collaboration, work across disciplines, and seize opportunities in ways and at a pace unusual for academia. It is the only way that we can solve the world's challenges. At Imperial, we are good at working across disciplines and collaborating. In 2014 three-quarters of our research papers collaborated with external co-authors from over 140 countries and 6,000 different universities, businesses, and other research organizations. However, we can be even better and can lead to new areas. We will seek the very best from around the world, sometimes collaborating with our toughest competition to create a fantastic team. We will ensure that our reward structures provide incentives for sharing, collaborating, and building relationships. This means that we will recognize collaboration in our evaluations for promotions and awards, and we will advocate for funders and evaluators to support collaborative work. We will make all of our campuses into dynamic centers of collaboration and innovation. We will bring staff, students, entrepreneurs, and industry researchers together in modern purpose-built spaces where ideas can be developed and tested rigorously and where networks can flourish. In White City, we create a new campus where partnerships working on global challenges transcend departmental boundaries. Every day, individuals, policymakers, and business leaders face questions, the answers to which require an understanding of the natural world, technology, medical advances, and business analysis. We can make a tremendous difference by using our expertise and knowledge to provide factual evidence and advice to government and business decision-makers. Also, the world is full of people who are naturally curious and enjoy learning. We must excite and inspire the public, from potential new students to eager lifelong learners, by sharing what we do in ways that arouse curiosity, awaken a love of discovery, and broaden the understanding of an increasingly complex world. Researchers are courageous. We probe the boundaries of knowledge; we seek discovery and delve into the unknown. We take calculated risks when we know we are onto something important. We find collaborators readily. Individually we already know how to do this. Institutions are more conservative. We will ensure that Imperial creates an environment where researchers can be courageous and push back the boundaries of their fields. We will make working together easy and support judicious risk-taking and collaboration. The world is changing, and Imperial is changing too. We set out this Strategy 2015–2020 to help guide us in the next few years. We acknowledge that we do not know where the new challenges and opportunities will be. We do know that we have great people, and we will build a more agile, adaptive, and resilient organization so that we will be ready for whatever the future holds.

However, only the application of true wisdom on the acquired knowledge and decision patterns could secure people's happiness and future. Therefore, the goal of Istanbul Medipol University staff is to "pave the path" towards gaining wisdom for all its students. Informational technologies are extensively used in the education process. Students' facilitated access to multimedia libraries and their training in multiplex and computer classrooms with state-of-the-art equipment increase education and research quality. He subsequently enlarged the classes to include more significant members of the interested public before taking his initiative in setting up the School of Fine Arts. The School gradually developed and was officially accorded a new status and named Silpakorn University on 12 October 1943. In the early phase of its development, its inaugural faculty was the Faculty of Painting and Sculpture (presently is named the Faculty of Painting Sculpture and Graphic Arts). In 1955, the Faculty of Thai Architecture was established (later changed the name into the Faculty of Architecture). Two more faculties were consecutively established to accommodate the university's growing academic interests, namely, the Faculty of Archaeology and the Faculty of Decorative Arts in the following years. Our Philosophy "Arts and Sciences create a sustainable nation." Our Resolution: "To create arts, knowledge, and wisdom for society." Our Vision: "Silpakorn University is a Leading Creative University" Core Value: T = Transparency E = Excellence A = Amicability M = Moral Courage Core Competency: S = Scientific Thinking I = Integrity L = Love of Wisdom P = Public Mind A = Art Appreciation K = Knowledgeable O = Outcomes Oriented Person R = Responsible Man N = Need for Achievement

      13. IMT schools were established by public authorities to support economic and industrial development in France as early as the 18th century. Our schools promote entrepreneurship and encourage the incubation of technology projects: every year, nearly 100 startups receive support at our schools' business incubators. The schools offer a wide range of tools that help students understand and experience innovation and entrepreneurship. Students benefit from the extensive partnerships between IMT schools and local and national innovation centers. Beyond entrepreneurship, these programs train engineers and managers with an awareness of value creation and innovation, enabling them to offer the creativity companies are looking for. IMT and its schools are a significant driving force in creating Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) in French and English, particularly in telecommunications, digital technology, and engineering sciences. By dovetailing their expertise and know-how in innovative teaching methods, IMT's schools now enjoy a wide range of representative training programs. As a global key player with an international outlook, IMT attracts students from across borders (33% of students enrolled on its Master's and PhD-level courses are from abroad), while also sending its students to the best foreign universities with which IMT has established exchange agreements and complementary dual-degree courses through its schools' existing bilateral agreements. Our Vision is to Combine digital technology and energy science to transform society and industry through training, research, and innovation. We are at the intersection of two worlds: the business world and the realm of higher education. Both of these areas are in transition in the context of increasing globalization: the digital revolution has led to a profound transformation in society and industry. The French higher education sector must ensure its presence on the international scene, at a time when energy and environmental issues have taken on primary societal importance. We are also at the intersection of two stories: the stories of two schools created fifteen years apart. Since their beginnings, they have gone on to fulfill their missions, contributing to the nation's economic development and international influence through training, research, and innovation. We have chosen to join forces in creating a new school, combining digital technology, energy, and environmental sciences, and able to contribute to developments in industry and society by training managers (engineers, MSc, Ph.D.) who are active agents of this transformation. Deliberate, collective advancement and constant forward-thinking, have always been driving forces behind our dynamism, as our relationship with the Ministry of Industry. On January 1st, 2017, we created the first "Mines-Télécom" school of IMT, which became one of the top ten engineering schools in France – a school endowed with excellent research potential. We are committed to being a multi-site school, reflecting the reality of today's world a school deeply rooted in its local regions and able to contribute to their development a school conscious of its environmental and societal responsibility a school which trains managers capable of understanding and mastering complex, highly interconnected systems of the future, by combining their knowledge of systems and the networks connecting them. IMT Atlantique is an institute of higher education and research, born through the fusion of École des Mines Nantes and Telecom Bretagne in January 2017. Research and innovation constitute one of the school's primary missions in its fields of excellence: digital technology, energy, and environment. The institute is authorized to deliver the Ph. D. diploma within the Community of Universities and Institutions, University of Bretagne Loire (Comue UBL).

      17. Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences was founded on 1 January 1988 by merging nineteen educational institutes in Rotterdam, Delft, and Dordrecht. This was the start of a school for higher education in Rotterdam and the surrounding area. Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences has more than 36,000 students and more than 3,500 employees. There are various programs to choose from across all educational sectors, except in the agrarian sector. Our education is closely connected to developments in the metropolitan region of Rotterdam. Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences has more than 36,000 students and more than 3,500 employees. There are various programs to choose from across all educational sectors, except in the agrarian sector. Our education is closely connected to developments in the metropolitan region of Rotterdam. The merger resulted in an organization that was divided into four faculties. The Faculty of Educational Programmes included the former pabo schools (secondary teacher training) in Rotterdam and Dordrecht, the Teacher Training school in Delft, de Nutsacademie, and part-time teacher training programs in Rotterdam and the province of Zeeland. The Faculty of Visual Arts and Architecture included those two academies. The Polytechnics Faculty included the higher technical school of Dordrecht and two programs for laboratory training in Rotterdam and Delft, the Academy for Nautical Training, and higher education for Maritime Mechanical Engineering. The Faculty of Health, Labour Relations, and Health Care consisted of the Social Academy, the higher education school of Youth Welfare, and Nursing, the Academy of Physical Therapy, and schooling for Speech Therapy. Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences stands for inclusive, high-quality education. We organize our education to be context-rich. Students, lecturers, researchers, and professionals are working together in a work-study environment. In the education vision of Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, we identify characteristics and basic principles of our education. The content and application of that vision are in the hands of the lecturer teams. They realize and organize education that fits their students, the professions they are educating for, and their specific study program's identity. Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences has chosen to commit to the expanding city of Rotterdam. Society has not stopped developing, and neither has the city. More and more potential students find their way to Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. Often these are kids of immigrant parents, the first generation of families in this country to enroll at a school of higher education. This asked for a different approach because this new generation of students was less prepared for the independent study. Therefore, Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences presented a new and finely tuned policy. Using the motto 'Exceed Expectations,' the school wanted to challenge all youth to achieve the maximum result during their studies, including the disadvantaged group. The project 'Study Success for Everyone' and stimulating education using the Rotterdam Education Model needed to make this ambition possible. The school's role as an institute of higher education for this region was given more emphasis. The clusters were divided into eleven institutes better to connect education, research, and contract education. Although the institutes were given some freedom to develop, the school ensured that school policies' unity would be kept intact. In September 2012, Ron Bormans was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. His role in the organization and his observations led to a thorough analysis of the school's state and current situation. The most important conclusions were presented in his Focus program. The shortest summary is that the school was doing well but was still not doing everything well. The connection with Rotterdam was the right choice. Thus, education and research were better connected to the city, and a hefty investment was made in reaching the youth of Rotterdam and keeping them in school. Investment in the quality of lecturers was also on the rise. But the school still did not achieve enough. The school continued to focus on the broad and diverse student population, as is Rotterdam, but the quality of education needed to improve. For that reason, the Focus program turned the school's complete attention to the quality of our Bachelor education. The intrinsic bond between students and lecturers needed to be more vital to increase Study Success, and education needed to profit more from applied research. The Focus program started another way of working and thinking within the school. Guidelines are placing more responsibility with lecturer teams and supporting management, services, and staff.

      24. Yamanashi Prefectural University welcomes the community and strives to contribute to vibrant advances through its "glocal" wisdom, which combines global and regional perspectives. As globalization expands rapidly, each local community today must tackle issues such as worsening environmental problems, diversifying market fundamentals, and deciphering technology's advantages and disadvantages from a global point of view. In a natural, industrial, and socially abundant environment like this, YPU is pursuing the university education "as a stronghold of glocal wisdom, can nurture future practical leaders, and is open to the community and faces local society," thereby trying to realize a future-oriented "promising and humanitarian" university for students and academic and administrative staff. In other words, it is our goal to cultivate the ability and skill of individuals who will give the full scope of their abilities in the long term to improve society for the better. To attain this goal, we have selected our teaching staff based on their career experience in the real world. Furthermore, we prioritize general education, which, in our opinion, helps students establish their dignity and self-formation. Also, we offer courses in foreign language communication and computer technology to improve their communication skills and broaden their networks. In professional training, students will learn current regional issues as well as problem-solving methods. They are expected to master expertise and, at the same time, recognize the importance of learning scientific methods and "seeing" the whole scheme comprehensively. Coursework for individual majors emphasize problem-solving strategies and incorporate scientific methods to manage current regional and practical life issues. We teach students to look beyond. Extra-curricular activities will also work. By attending voluntary activities, students are expected to elevate their independence and learn to take the initiative in society through collaborating with people of different backgrounds. At Yamanashi Prefectural University, we urge students to engage in extra-curricular activities. Through collaboration with people outside of the classroom, students learn life skills to succeed and a greater understanding of independence. For such occasions, we have established The University Center for Research and Exchange. The center coordinates the community's demand with the university's intellectual resources. The university has established strong support with residents of Yamanashi Prefecture. We work hard to fulfill people's expectations and contribute to Yamanashi's development; at the same time, we try to contribute from Yamanashi to the nation and beyond to the world.
