Nation University is previously called "Yonok College" and was approved by the University Bureau to start teaching in 1988. York Foundation operated it. The Higher Education Commission's office permitted York College to change (the type) from college to York University. Later on, the Ministry of Education, upon the Higher Education Commission's advice, allowed it to change the name to "Nation University."
