      1. Thaksin University is one of the first higher education institute in the south of Thailand, which was initially called the College of Education initiated by the Ministry of Education. This college replaced the High Teacher Training at Prasarnmitra Road, Phrakhanong District, Phranakorn, in 1954. It was established under the goals to develop a philosophy and modern educational concepts in association with a democratic society, including the in-depth development of education as a systematic career, respectively, to provide a degree in education. The College of Education has gradually developed along with the educational extension in the different regions worldwide. The regional administrations included Phrathumwon Campus, Bangsaen Campus in Chonburi, Pitsanulok Campus, Mahasrakam Campus, Songkhla Campus, Phranakorn Campus, and Physical Education Campus with Phasarnmitra Campus as the administrative center. The College of Education, Songkhla Campus was officially established on October 11, 1968, at Kaoroopchang Sub-district, Muang District, Songkhla Province, where Thaksin University's Songkhla Campus is now located. According to the resolutions of the Councils of College of Education responsible for expanding higher education level to the southern area of Thailand. Thaksin University's Core values: Respect: seeing the values and importance of behaving correctly and sincerely toward people or things. Wisdom: using wisdom to lead a life so that growth can happen to oneself, the organization, and society. Unity: mutually accomplishing a mission together. Outcome-oriented: working toward achievement or the outcome of the task is essential to fulfilling the appointed goal. Worthiness: working efficiently and effectively for a positive outcome of the organization by using appropriate resources. Social responsibility: paying attention, being reliable, and participating in social development. The philosophy of Thaksin University is Intelligence and Ethics guide Development. Thaksin University aims to produce graduates, develop the workforce, research, and academic services to serve local society, the nation, and ASEAN countries to become intellectual, peaceful, and sustainable societies. Missions of Thaksin University To provide education to produce graduates, develop quality people to meet local and national needs within ASEAN and the global community. To create and develop research work to serve and direct society, including advancing the university to become a research site in the future. To provide academic services and knowledge to society and thus create a robust and knowledgeable society. To encourage, support, maintain and develop arts, culture, wisdom, and the environment of lower Southern Thailand, making it valuable for local, national, and ASEAN development. To develop the university universally, meaning the strengthening of individuals' expertise, cultural organizations, and pursuing happiness for personnel in every position. Primary Purposes of the University TSU is an ASEAN quality university with quality graduates and is accepted by both alumni and society, having high-quality national standards. TSU can strongly produce quality personnel that meets local, national, the ASEAN Community, and global needs. TSU provides education management strategies for wisdom and developing a peaceful social community. University academic work is of international quality, which is useful for the development of specific areas. Academic service management can create and increase university income values, i.e., through academic services and consultation. The lower South of Thailand gains benefits from university academic services and consultations. Arts, culture, and Southern wisdom are valuable. The university is a center of excellence and technical perfection.
