  1. The Munich School of Philosophy follows the long educational tradition of the Jesuits, which has been valued worldwide for over 400 years for the quality of its schools and universities. Founded in 1925 with the name Berchman College in Pullach at the gates of Munich – initially as a training center for new members of the order – the college's move to the Munich university quarter center in 1971 was much more than just a change of location. It also brought state recognition of all qualifications and the university's opening to all students interested in a systematic education in philosophy. You can study philosophy to learn to think. This is not to say that you will learn to think "the right way" in your philosophy course. Instead, it refers to the challenge of getting to grips with your understanding of the world and values, comparing it with others, and finally articulating and discussing it. Philosophy attempts to find answers to hundreds of years old questions but still just as relevant today. One of the reasons for this is that such questions relate to the fundamentals of human existence and thinking. Each branch of philosophy examines a different facet. Munich is known as a center of education and research in Germany. Moreover, Munich stands out due to its extensive selection of museums and cultural institutions. The Bavarian Alps can be reached easily from Munich and provide an excellent selection of recreational opportunities. Different philosophical movements, perspectives, and methodological approaches have always been represented at the Munich School of Philosophy. This diversity is "state of the art" in philosophy and enables topical exchange between the different disciplines. This is precisely why we place a high value on a broad primary education, which – unlike at other universities, aims to cover the entire spectrum of philosophy. Whether studying for their Bachelor degree or their Ph.D., students generally need to have examined the following subjects: In the Federal Republic of Germany, the right to hold the academic qualifications Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, Magister Artium, Dr. Phil. and Dr. Phil. habil. It is obtained by passing the relevant examination following the university's rules in agreement with the Bavarian State Ministry of Education, Science, and the Arts. All of these qualifications have the same significance as those awarded by the state universities. The Munich School of Philosophy is officially recognized as a non-state, academic university in the sense of Art. 76–85 BayHSchG (Bavarian University and College Act). Under the decrees of Sacra Congregation pro Institutione Catholica, Rome, of 7 June and 28 October 1971, as well as the approval of the Bavarian State Ministry of Education, Science and the Arts by notice from 24 September 1971 and 17 November 1972, the Munich School of Philosophy is open to all students with higher education entrance qualification and can award the students with Baccalaureate in Philosophy and the academic qualifications Magister Artium in Philosophy (corresponds to the ecclesiastical licentiate) and Dr. Phil. according to the relevant requirements. On 24 July 1990, the Bavarian State Parliament awarded the Munich School of Philosophy the right to confer post-doctorates. On 24 July 2009, the Munich School of Philosophy's recognition by the Bavarian State Ministry of Education, Science and the Arts was changed to the effect that the Bachelor of Arts can also be conferred as an academic degree in the future. Since 19 June 2012, the Munich School of Philosophy can also award the title Master of Arts. With this, the Baccalaureate and Magister programs are being phased out. The state-recognized and canonical programs of study Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Master of Arts in Philosophy (consecutive) were accredited for the first time by the accreditation agency AKAST until 30 September 2019. The state-recognized postgraduate study course Master of Arts in Ethics was accredited for the first time until 30 September 2019 by the accreditation agency ACQUIN.   3. The Universität der Bundeswehr München was founded in 1973 to provide officers and officer candidates with a university education to prepare them for civilian careers. After all, most regular soldiers leave the Bundeswehr after 13 years. Since its founding, the number of students has been rising steadily: today, there are around 2,800 registered students, including 300 women, 100 civilians, and 50 international students and officers. In contrast to other universities, the standard period of study at the Universität der Bundeswehr München is only three years for a bachelor's degree and one additional year for the master's degree. Our diplomas are nevertheless fully recognized by the state and are considered equal standing with those awarded by other German universities. The Universität der Bundeswehr München is made up of the University and a University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften) and offers a total of 18 programs of study in 7 departments of the University and three departments of the College. Our excellent scientific facilities allow high-level research that is competitive on an international scale. The University is under the direction of the President. Following the principle of university autonomy, the Universität der Bundeswehr München is managed by its constituents. The Framework Provisions For the Structure and Organization of the Universität der Bundeswehr München, issued in March 2000, considerably modernized the internal distribution of tasks. As an outcome of these reforms, the University's autonomy was strengthened and its management structure altered. Two committees for overseeing academic matters were established: the Management Committee and the Extended University Administration. Both committees are chaired by the President of the Universität der Bundeswehr München. The Senate is responsible for research matters and appointing university professors. The members of the University Council, founded in 2000, together with the Senate members, form the Administrative Council. All committees have the right to initiative. They introduce new ideas and suggestions, thus contributing to a reform-oriented development of the University. In 1973, the first officers and officer candidates began their studies at the Universität der Bundeswehr München. Like its partner university in Hamburg, the University was founded as a model for planned reforms. The liberal coalition headed by the German Chancellor, Helmut Schmidt, intended to implement its university policies and reform ideas in these two universities. Another aim was to develop a new way to make officers' training and education a more attractive option for prospective students. From the very beginning, the Universität der Bundeswehr München has consisted of two main parts: a university and a college of applied sciences (Fachhochschule). The Universität der Bundeswehr München is located southeast of Munich, directly at the city limits. Its neighboring towns are Neubiberg, Ottobrunn, and Unterhaching. The primary aim of the Universität der Bundeswehr München, established in 1973, is to provide officers and officer candidates with a thorough university education. The prerequisite for study here is a high school or "A-level" diploma (Hochschulreife or Fachhochschulreife) that is generally recognized in Bavaria. LMU Munich has a classical academic profile ranging from the humanities and cultural sciences, law, economics, and social sciences to medicine and natural sciences. The University is divided into 18 faculties and enjoys one of Germany's most adequate library systems. Creative thinking, problem-solving, and research are central to LMU's academic programs. With 2,300 beds, its Medical Center is, next to the Charité in Berlin, the most prestigious and largest institution in Germany. LMU Munich enjoys an excellent library system. Faculty and students also have access to the Bavarian State Library, the Technische Universität München Library, other local and state LMU partner libraries, and the German university interlibrary loan network. The University's library system consists of the Main University Library and more than 130 decentralized libraries hosted by the individual faculties. Its total stock amounts to about 6.5 million volumes. The vast majority of the library system's holdings are listed in the online catalog accessible on the Internet. Whereas the holdings of the decentralized libraries are generally not available for lending, the Main Library houses lending stocks totaling 2.4 million volumes. These include the valuable old inventory of over 3,000 manuscripts and approximately 400,000 old prints up to the publication year 1900, the second-largest in Bavaria's Free State. Students and researchers at LMU Munich also have access to libraries at other universities and institutes of higher education in Munich and partner libraries and the special libraries our University maintains. Since the founding of LMU Munich, the University Archives has preserved archival material from the Board of University Representatives, Rectorate, faculties, and institutes and maintains its impressive University and faculty history library. It is open during select hours for academic research. Researchers are requested to contact the Archive in advance. Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) München is a public corporation with the right of self-governance within the law's confines. At the same time, it is a state entity divided into a central administration and 18 faculties. The University Executive Board is composed of six members: the president and five vice presidents. The University Executive Board consults with its main advisory board, the University Council, comprised of the University's members and high-ranking and experienced representatives from the private sector, the professional world, and other academic branches. The University Governing Board consists of the Executive Board members, the deans, and the women's representative of the University. To develop competitive procedures adapted to the logic and specific performance of the different subject groups, a system of consultative committees was introduced, the functions of which are defined in LMU Munich's Basic Statutes. The faculties themselves house various academic bodies such as departments and institutes, as well as managing units. In order to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, members of these academic bodies can merge to form cross-disciplinary centers.
  5. Approximately 800 students are currently enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich (AdBK). Each student is assigned to a class of his/her choice, selected during the admission process. The academy includes a total of 26 classes. Training at the academy focuses primarily on the development and practice of artistic skills and abilities in the fine arts. It also includes undergraduate programs in art education and interior design as well as advanced degree programs in visual design and therapy, or in architecture. Students with exceptional artistic achievements will receive a Diploma as a special recognition from the Academy at the end of their studies (Minimal study time consists of six semesters in one of the specialties offered). This diploma does not, however, confer any academic title or similar distinction. We offer the following undergraduate programs with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS): Bachelor in Interior Design and Art Pedagogy (Degree: Government Exam for art teachers of high school education). In addition to fulfilling general admission requirements, prospective students must hold general or subject-related higher education entrance qualifications (e.g. a college/university entrance certificate). We offer the following master’s degree programs: Interior Architecture, Art and Architecture and Art Pedagogy. In addition to fulfilling general admission requirements, prospective students must hold evidence of the qualification for a master’s degree entrance (bachelor’s degree with at least 180 ECTS).

His film Quiero ser won a Student Academy Award, directly followed by an Oscar for a best short film. Today, Florian Gallenberger continues to make movies while teaching students as an honorary professor at HFF Munich. Do you, too, the dream of making filmmaking your profession? At HFF Munich, one of the most renowned film schools in German-speaking countries, you can choose one of five study courses. Since its founding in 1966, or instead, since instruction began in 1967, HFF Munich has trained tomorrow's movie talents. The school's illustrious alumni include Caroline Link, Doris Dörrie, Bernd Eichinger, Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, Wim Wenders, and Roland Emmerich. During the early years, classes were held in a villa in Schwabing until their relocation to a former bed-spring factory in Munich's Giesing section in 1988. Finally, in September 2011, the school moved to its newly built facility in the heart of the Munich art district. Here, all our study programs have been united under one roof. From its film and television studios to a separate post-production wing, plus its three screening rooms – our center offers all the facilities needed to make both filmmaking and film study the slightest activity in the world. HFF Munich offers five-degree programs: Feature Film and Television Feature (Dept. III) Film and Television Documentary (Dept. IV) Production and Media Business (Dept. V) Screenplay (Dept. VI) Cinematography (Dept. VII) The course offerings within the disciplines Media Studies (Dept. I) and Technology (Dept. II) are required curricula for all students. It is not possible to apply for a course of study restricted to these subjects. Students seeking a more in-depth understanding or specialization can take advantage of the particular study schemes and subdepartments offered by Departments II to VII: VFX (specialization / Dept. II), Film Editing (specialization / Dept. III & IV), Television Journalism (subdepartment / Dept. IV), Advertising (subdepartment / Dept. V), Creative Writing (specialization / Dept. VI), Serial Storytelling (specialization / Dept. VI) or Image, Light, Space (specialization / Dept. VII). HFF Munich students can also apply for the extension course in collaboration with the August Everding Bavarian Theater Academy: Theater, Film and Television Criticism. To inform, comment, and analyze with images – the Television Journalism Subdepartment's mission is to train young, politically alert, and engaged journalists with excellent professional, creative and personal skills. Journalists bear great responsibility – they provide orientation in an increasingly complex world. They convey information and knowledge, providing the basis for a life in democracy and freedom. They can only fulfill this task if they have received good journalistic training. This is what the Television Journalism Subdepartment stands for: Individual projects of our students have been nominated for the German Human Rights Film Award and the CNN Journalist Award and have been viewed on German television and at renowned festivals. As part of their primary studies, students in the Documentary Film department can major in journalistic television work and specialize accordingly – from current news journalism to long reportages. The study program's objective is to learn journalistic skills, recognize the laws of the market, and, above all, develop innovative forms. Professor Doris Dörrie has headed the Creative Writing program and defined its content since January 1997: "First and foremost, writing is a craft. Practicing. Continuing, keeping at it. Whether it is art, you find out much later. That is my main goal in my work with students: To consider writing a craft while also losing one's fear. " Doris Dörrie: Über das Schreiben (On Writing) In the creative process, access to one's creativity can quickly become buried by fear and doubt – but there are many ways to return to creativity and imagination. With our students, we practice discovering buried treasures and the joy of their retrieval. Our courses cover a broad spectrum, reflecting the variety of creative spaces we open up with our students. For an exhibition, for example, we turned the entire HFF lobby into a public show. The students experienced a "Writer's Room" 's the creative potential, where they collectively developed and immediately produced a Web series. Founded in 1925 with the name Berchman College in Pullach at the gates of Munich – initially as a training center for new members of the order – the college's move to the Munich university quarter center in 1971 was much more than just a change of location. This is not to say that you will learn to think "the right way" in your philosophy course. On 24 July 1990, the Bavarian State Parliament awarded the Munich School of Philosophy the right to confer post-doctorates.   17. The Universität der Bundeswehr München was founded in 1973 to provide officers and officer candidates with a university education to prepare them for civilian careers. After all, most regular soldiers leave the Bundeswehr after 13 years. Since its founding, the number of students has been rising steadily: today, there are around 2,800 registered students, including 300 women, 100 civilians, and 50 international students and officers. In contrast to other universities, the standard period of study at the Universität der Bundeswehr München is only three years for a bachelor's degree and one additional year for the master's degree. Our diplomas are nevertheless fully recognized by the state and are considered equal standing with those awarded by other German universities.   18. Approximately 800 students are currently enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich (AdBK). Each student is assigned to a class of his/her choice, selected during the admission process. The academy includes a total of 26 classes. Training at the academy focuses primarily on the development and practice of artistic skills and abilities in the fine arts. It also includes undergraduate programs in art education and interior design as well as advanced degree programs in visual design and therapy, or in architecture. Students with exceptional artistic achievements will receive a Diploma as a special recognition from the Academy at the end of their studies (Minimal study time consists of six semesters in one of the specialties offered). This diploma does not, however, confer any academic title or similar distinction. We offer the following undergraduate programs with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS): Bachelor in Interior Design and Art Pedagogy (Degree: Government Exam for art teachers of high school education). In addition to fulfilling general admission requirements, prospective students must hold general or subject-related higher education entrance qualifications (e.g. a college/university entrance certificate).
