- Welcome to the Mesrobian High School. Mesrobian Armenian Catholic High School, along with the technical college, is a Lebanese Armenian and Armenian Catholic Patriarchal school from nursery to Second Baccalaureate class. The school aims at developing the pupils’ personalities holistically and harmoniously allowing them to nurture their potentials for self-realization in an atmosphere of trust and self-confidence. It provides the proper context for acquiring religious, moral, and Lebanese-Armenian cultural values, which will enable the students to become truthful, faithful, and lawful citizens, and active members of the society and the Armenian community. Through its educational program, the Mesrobian School aims to build the personality of children and adolescents in line with the spirit of harmonious cohesion, helping those who develop and implement their autonomy in a cooperative and self-confident atmosphere. Our kindergarten's mission is to provide academic excellence to all students, while the nursery provides child care services to children between the ages of two and three. For this purpose, the teaching curriculum and the informative programs are prepared to provide an experience that stimulates learning in a supportive environment that will satisfy the needs of the children and give individual attention to each of them. The preschool program is prepared to help the children acquire a variety of fundamental knowledge skills and a positive attitude towards learning. Children will also begin to develop their abilities and talents in different domains. The Teachers, the kindergarteners, the community members, and the families work together to provide a constructive and coherent learning experience that increases the child's confidence and encourages him/her to find that learning is both important and wonderful. The preschool program builds a firm intellectual, physical, and social base, vital for the child's future. The religious program that starts in kindergarten uses resources that support the child in all aspects of life. In the Small Section (PS), the child learns to communicate in Armenian and in French through the use of visual media. In addition, Arabic is taught. The curriculum includes the following classes: Christian education, pre-mathematics, rhythm, socialization, handicrafts, and school excursions. In the Middle section (MS), children are comfortable because they are accustomed to the methodology applied in the small section. Children begin to learn the alphabet. They also start to work more independently. They also participate in group work. In addition, the number of Arabic courses has increased. In the large Section (GS), children learn to read and write in three languages (Armenian, French, and Arabic). Their communication skills are improved. Children also master simple numbers and learn how to add. Homework and tests are done regularly to ensure continuous improvement. The primary school is committed to placing each child in the best position to succeed socially, emotionally, and academically. This is accomplished by providing a humane and Christian environment that actively involves parents and the community who support the teachers and concentrate on the students' success. In such a friendly environment, students become competent and independent learners for life. They will grow up to become responsible citizens with positive social skills, good self-esteem, and awareness of their roles in the community. In EB1 class (Grade 1) through activities, group work, and projects, children improve their reading, writing, and oral communication skills in three main languages (Arabic, Armenian and French). It is in the first year that the child starts to attend computer and science courses for the first time. He/she also follows the courses of civic instruction, music, mathematics, and Christian Education. Because of the same applied methodology and because the subjects taught are the same as those of the EB1 class, the children prepare to make a very gradual transition from the class of EB1 to the class of EB2. They learn to work independently and share ideas two by two and in group work. All children participate in school excursions, exhibitions, and activities that push children to learn. The EB3 class is the year where children celebrate their first Holy Communion. Celebrations and various other activities prepare them for this event. Academically, a student of this class must master all the basic concepts in mathematics, learn to think critically in science, and acquire the basic skills in three languages. Like their classmates from the EB1 and EB2 classes, children participate in activities, exhibitions, games, concerts, and school excursions. These activities prepare the child to pass the classes of EB4, EB5, and EB6. In line with the general objectives of the College Mesrobian, the college aims to develop the critical thinking of the students and to facilitate the gradual transition from childhood to adolescence through a balanced school curriculum. At the end of the college years, students are ready to take their first official exam and start thinking about their university studies and future career options. The main objective of the secondary cycle is to help all students become mature young adults in all aspects of their lives: spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual, and academic. The college tries to ensure the success of the students in the official exams and entrance exams at the university, through a qualified faculty and a very dynamic program. Consistent with the national curriculum, the teaching profession uses cooperative and interactive learning methods. Students apply their knowledge through scientific, empiric, deductive processes such as lab experience sessions and presentations. Students learn about the sciences and the humanities and are guided to choose the path that suits them the most. The choice between the sciences and the humanities depends on the talents, potentials, and learning abilities of the students, as well as the requirements of the higher education field that they want to pursue. Students in this class come to a deeper understanding of knowledge, gained through active participation in the high school learning process. Interactive lessons are supported by experimental observation or detailed research. Therefore, students use a deeper level of learning through analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. Critical thinking is given priority and various evaluation techniques are used to help all students improve their learning abilities. In addition, students are prepared, through self-evaluation and orientation sessions, to choose the most suitable classes for their last year. This is the year where students finish their studies at the college. Students try to make a name for themselves at school through direct participation in decisions related to daily life at Mesrobian High School. Academically, they are implored to prepare to face two important challenges: first, to continue their studies at the college, and secondly to pass the official exam. - The Port Elizabeth Technical High School was first opened at the Technical College in Russel Road on 17 February 1936. At that stage, there were only 12 learners in classes ranging from Grade 9 to 11. The hours of attendance were from 09:00 to 17:00. Our talented and dynamic teaching staff ensure that high educational standards are achieved, incorporating traditional values and life skills. An exciting choice of sport and cultural activities is offered – our goal is to develop the full individual potential of each pupil. The school has produced young minds with a love of learning, sport, and the environment, ready to fulfill their roles as valued members of society. Even though technical education has been a reality for several years, many people are completely ignorant or confused about technical education. A widespread belief that learners who struggle in an ordinary school will find a technical school easier because the subjects are “easier” and the learner can “work with his/her hands” still prevails. Parents who become despondent when their child does not make satisfactory progress at school are sometimes misinformed and persuaded to enroll their child in a technical school despite the following realities: In Grade 12, learners in a technical school write the same external exams as those in ordinary schools. The same pass requirements and standards must be maintained. The course has a strong Mathematical bias and a learner at a technical school needs to have an above-average Mathematical aptitude. The “good with his hands” argument is just as deceptive. Very little time is spent in the work centers and a learner can only earn minimum marks through his/her manual dexterity. These facts must be borne in mind when deciding to enroll a child in a technical school. This school aims to develop its learners, to the best of their potential so that they may become worthy members of society. A balanced education is thus offered in all spheres: academic, technical, physical, cultural, and pastoral. The vital role of the family unit and the influence of the Christian-based principles of the society which this school serves are acknowledged in the achievement of this goal. The school commits itself to cultivate young adults of whom we all can be proud. In Grade 8 and 9, learners follow the same curriculum as learners in any school in South Africa. However, in preparation for the NSC subjects in Grades 10 to 12, training in Engineering Graphics and Design is included in the curriculum. The choice a learner makes in Grade 9 regarding the subjects to be taken in Grade 10 for the National Senior Certificate course of study is very important. If a learner chooses without thinking very carefully about it, it can ruin his/her chances of furthering his/her career after school. At Newton, we offer various sport codes, including rugby, cricket, netball, athletics, tennis, and soccer. Because winning is not everything, our passionate coaches focus on teaching good sportsmanship, great character, discipline, and punctuality. The learners enjoy competing both individually and in teams. Although learners at Newton prefer a more “technical” way of life, they are very creative with lyrics, poetry, charity, and music. - Here we briefly outline the history and heritage of Port Rex. Port Rex Technical High School has its roots in the Technical section of the East London Technical College (1928-1968). In 1974, on a suggestion by the then headmaster, Dr. Johan Brittz, the East London Technical High School changed its name to Port Rex Technical High School. The name ‘Port Rex’ has its origin in George Rex, a British sea captain who landed at the mouth of the Buffalo River in 1823. Up until 1847, East London was named Port Rex. Former headmaster Dr. Johan Brittz was also instrumental in the design of the current Port Rex school badge. The school colors, Cambridge University blue, and maroon have an interesting history. Mr. Lorton, early Head of Technology at the East London Technical College, studied at the Imperial College in London, where maroon was worn. Similarly, Mr. Shannon, early Head of Commerce at the East London Technical College, studied at Cambridge University, hence the color blue. Our aim at Port Rex Technical High School is to expose our learners, within the protected background at the high school level, to an Academic environment that will facilitate the opportunity to acquire practical skills and useful knowledge. Learners are then equipped and ready with skills and knowledge to take into post grade 12 study or the world of work to enable a meaningful contribution to the South African commercial sector. Deeply rooted in the Port Rex philosophy is the concept that our educational package should seek relevance with Industry. It is this belief that governs our Employment and Social Responsibility Programme. Over the last 30 years, we have developed a beneficial relationship with a cross-section of local and national businesses in the Technological and Manufacturing Sector, who actively seek out and welcome applications from our learners. The four houses: Christopher, Bisseker, Cowie, and Bowie were named after four Board Councillors who served the East London Technical College and contributed much to Technical Education in the border region. Our motto, ‘Mente-et-Manu’ – meaning ‘With mind and hand’, has its origin in the old East London Technical College. All learners follow the D.B.E. curriculum as prescribed in the CAPS document. The only exception is that at Port Rex, more emphasis is placed on Technology. Here, grade 8 and 9 learners receive “hands-on” experience with the tools and equipment which they will encounter in other senior technical subjects. At this early phase, our learners are already exposed to Engineering Graphics and Design as well as workshop practice. This allows the learners to make an informed decision when selecting their specialized technical subject at the end of Grade 9. All grade 10, 11, and 12 Port Rex learners take a selection of compulsory subjects, with the additional option of one of 3 available specialized technology subjects. The selection of the technology subject is made at the end of Grade 9 based on the learner’s achievement in Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Technology. The Technology subjects each have limits imposed on numbers by factors such as safety and the number of work stations available. Mathematics and Physical Sciences are taken together and Technical Mathematics and Technical Sciences are taken together. The study of Mechanical Technology builds on the systems, controls, structures, and processes found in the Technology Learning Area Statement for the General Education and Training band. It serves to further develop the learners’ knowledge and understanding of levers, pulleys, gears, and mechanisms. Learners are also exposed to the use and application of mechanical advantage, designs, and structures as applied in design to promote safety and efficiency. Mechanical Technology is designed to promote learners with a sound base that integrates technical and practical competencies. Civil Technology and related professions such as architecture, building, and quantity surveying, collectively known as the Built Environment, are the basis on which civilization was founded. It is through these professions that essential services, such as roads, bridges, purified water, water-borne sewerage, railway lines, high-rise buildings, factories, and housing in general, among its many aspects, are provided. Electrical Technology focuses on the understanding and application of electronic principles and the technological processes inherent in the production of products, services, and systems. Electrical Technology provides a sound foundation for further studies in the Electrical Engineering and Electronic field. The University is named after Ivan Pul'uj, famous physicist and electrical engineer, great scientist, an outstanding cultural and political figure. Ivan Pul'uj was born on February 2nd, 1845 in the town of Hrymailiv. In 1864 he graduated from the Ternopil Gymnasium with honours. To continue his education, Ivan entered the Theological Department of the Vienna University, and after graduation from it, he became a student of Philosophy Department. Having finished his studying, Ivan Pul'uj started to investigate physical processes and phenomena. After receiving an Associate Professor Degree in Vienna, the scientist had worked as a Professor of the German Prague polytechnical Institute over 30 years (from1884 to 1916 ). He was the Dean of Physical Faculty and the Rector of this establishment. Professor Ivan Pul'uj was well - known in scientific circles as a famous theorist and experimentation, the author of many unique scientific papers and significant inventions. He is recognized as an expert in electric power stations and a highly qualified Specialist in ancient languages. In his researches, Pul'uj was very close to the discovery of the place of X-ray's origin. He made the first X-ray photographs. All his experiments with X-rays were made by him, using vacuum tubes of his design. His attention was also focused on molecular physics problems, studying the cathode rays properties and nature. He published dozens of articles and booklets, more than 50 scientific papers. Ivan Pul'uj is a brilliant translator of the Bible in the original. He is famous for his playful attitude towards protecting the rights of the Ukrainian people, their political freedoms and native language, for his great organizational, cultural and educational work. The scientist created the fund of helping poor Ukrainian students who studied abroad, and he assisted in solving the problems of Ukrainian refugees during World War 1. The great scientist, cultural and public figure Ivan Pul'uj died on January 31st, 1918 in Prague where he was buried. His inventions and scientific papers are a significant pride for world science. Nowadays his name takes one of the first places in the list of outstanding Ukrainian culture figures. Celebrating the 150th anniversary of Pul'uj birthday, many events devoted to his memorable date were held in Ternopil, Hrymailiv, Lviv and Kyiv. The international scientific-educational conference was held, the bust of the well-known scientist was erected at our University. Austrian Professor Petro Pul'uj, the scientist's grandson, visited Ukraine and took part at the conference. Ivan Pul'uj will always remain in our hearts as the symbol of the Ukrainian people's intellectual wealth, landmark of the future achievements of the state. The origins of the University reached 1960 when Ternopil All-technical Department of the Lviv Polytechnic Institute with the extra-mural and part-time study forms was organized on March 11th. Stolyarchuk V.P., PhD was appointed the Head of the Department, and 12 teachers conducted the training. In February 1962 Shcherbakov A.O., PhD started working as the Head of the Department. At the same time, full-time specialist training was opened. On May 15th 1964 the Department was reorganized into Ternopil affiliate of Lviv Polytechnic University with the first chairs of higher mathematics, drawing geometry and graphics, technical mechanics, physics and energetics. Shcherbakov A.O., PhD became director of the affiliate. In 1964-1968 new chairs were formed: the Chair of social and political sciences, theoretical mechanics, foreign languages, metal technologies, machine tools and instruments, physics, general and theoretical electrics and physical education. At that time the affiliate trained specialists in the following specialities: mechanical engineering, metal cutting machine tools and instruments, electrical measuring equipment and radio equipment. In March 1968 Polishchuk A.G., PhD became director of the affiliate. The intense work on the necessary instrumentation of teaching rooms and laboratories, expansion of the teaching areas, replenishment of the teaching staff with Candidates and Doctors of Science, organization of the Extra-Mural Studies Department and creation of the chair affiliates at production was being conducted. In October 1985 Shabliy O.M., Sc.D was appointed director of the Ternopil affiliate of Lviv Polytechnic University. He initiated the opening of new specialities: technology and equipment of the welding production, automation of the technological processes and productions, instrumentation, biotechnical and medical apparatuses and systems construction of the new teaching building. Due to the heads and staff's active and influential work on February 27th 1991, Ternopil InstrumentationInstitute was created based on the Ternopil affiliate of Lviv Polytechnic University, being the second higher educational institution of this direction in Ukraine. The first rector chosen by the staff was Shabliy O.M., Sc.D. At that time the Institute comprised three departments integrating 13 chairs. The available quantity of students was in 2420. One hundred fifty teachers worked at the Institute, 76 of them being Candidates and Doctors of Science. Since April 1995 the educational institution has named the outstanding Ukrainian scientist and public man Ivan Pul'uj. By the InterbranchAccreditation Commission's decision, in 1994 the Institute was accredited as an IV level educational institution. The creation of the Institute was a powerful impetus to the new quality changes and further growth. The restructuring of the region's economy and the necessity of providing staff for overcoming the crisis helped change the orientation of the Institute and carry out its considerable structural reconstruction. The Institute has practically lost its narrow applied line gradually transforming into the multibranch higher technical educational institution. Considering the staff's real developments and achievements, the Regulation of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine № 1536 from December 30th 1996 approved the creation of Ternopil Ivan Pul'uj State Technical University based on Ternopil InstrumentationInstitute. Academician Shabliy O.M. became the rector of the University. University is an educational, scientific, engineering and cultural centre of the western region of Ukraine. Nowadays it is the only higher technical educational institution of the region providing the training of specialists of all qualification levels, Doctors and Candidates of Science for the region also comprising Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyy and Rivne. Since 1999 the University has been a full member of the European University Association, uniting more than 600 European universities. It also holds membership in the national association of rectors from 43 countries which is the leading representative organ for the higher educational institutions in Europe. The European University Association is a consultative member of the Supporting group of the Conference of Ministers of Education from European countries. The University takes an active part in fulfilling one of the main tasks of the association, which is creating the European higher education space where students, teachers and scientists would be able to accomplish their intentions and ideas based on the established European educational norms. On September 16th 2005 Ternopil Ivan Pul'uj State Technical University joined the European Declaration of the higher educational institutions of the Magna Charta Universitatum comprising fundamental principles, rights and duties of the universities as the outposts of culture, knowledge and research and uniting more than 530 leading universities of Europe, among them 14 from Ukraine. The range of specialities taught at the affiliate, Institute and, finally, University has gradually extended, and presently the number of specialities for Bachelor, Specialist, and masters reach the number of 20. Altogether they are united in 15 directions. Eight departments are functioning within the University: Computer Technologies Department, Department of Computer Information Systems and Program Engineering, Electrical Engineering Department, Food and Processing Production Department, Mechanical Engineering Department, Economy and Entrepreneurship Department, Department of Management and Business in Production, Department of Testing Instruments and Radio Computer Systems. The following training centres are functioning at the University: Information technologies centre comprising the regional CISCO academy, regional centre for the certified specialists training on Microsoft IT Àñàdemy and SUN Microsystems, the laboratory of the Shnaider-Electricenterprise and certification examination centre of the European Virtual University. The graduates of the academy receive certificates of the international standard. Ternopil Ivan Pul'uj Technical University also includes the Technical College in Ternopil and the Gusyatyn and Zboriv Colleges situated in Gusyatyn and Zboriv. Presently the general enrollment of students, masters and post-graduate students in the University alone comprises around 6000 persons. The available licensed amount of full-time bachelors is 945 persons, masters - 325 and specialists - 695 persons the amount of distance studies bachelors is 900 persons, masters - 320 and specialists - 865 persons. TSTU has founded and is a leading member of the regional educational and scientific amalgamation "Technical personnel", the Junior Academy of Sciences, educational and scientific complexes "Svitlo", "Gazda", "Dostatok", "Agromash", "Computer" and "Proforientatsiya". Pre-university student training is conducted at the Technical Lyceum of the university and amalgamation "Vatra" and at the lyceum school in Dobryvody, specialized schools and gymnasiums. In 1995 the University transferred to the specialist training under the Ministry of Education of Ukraine's educational and professional programs. The education model approved envisions, besides the high professional training, the accomplishment of task-oriented programs of the intense fundamental training and computer education, modernization of the economic sciences teaching, humanization of the educational process, development of the foreign language teaching and advance in the legal education of specialists. Over the last three years, 27 persons have obtained the degree of Candidate of Science and five persons obtained the Doctor of Science degree. Our scientists' works were on repeated occasions exposed at the international exhibitions, especially at the exhibitions of medical instrumentation, information technologies (1997 - 2006, Hanover, Federal Republic of Germany), etc. The developments were exposed at the I and II International investment forums of the Ternopil region. High estimation of the results of research conducted by the scientists of the University is confirmed by the awards and diplomas obtained at the exhibitions. In 1995 TSTU became the first Ternopil higher educational institution to initiate the publication of the "Scientific Herald" with more than 200 pages. TSTU is also a co-founder of another specialized scientific edition - "Galician Economic Herald". The University cooperates actively with foreign educational and scientific institutions in the branch of education and research. Joint research is also conducted with the scientists of the University of Birmingham (United Kingdom), Lulea University (Sweden) and University of Maribor (Slovenia) in the branch of destruction mechanics. Scientific cooperation with the joint Ukrainian-Chinese science park in Tzinan (China) is conducted as well. The University's physical infrastructure and its structures comprise 11 education, science and research buildings with the general area of around 60 000 sq. meters, six dormitories, gyms, student canteens, and accommodations for the art activities. In 2003 a sports and recreation centre "Polytechnic" with a 25-metre swimming pool of the Olympic type with 200-seat grandstand, a big a gym with spectator stood for 350 persons, a gymnastic area, a workout room, a weightlifting room as well as an aerobics and fitness hall was put in commission. The Olympic champions and world and European skiing, kickboxing, weightlifting and swimming champions train and work at the University. University basketball team, well-known in the sports circles, is a winner among Western zone teams. The University implements modern higher school development tendencies in its activities to the full extent it satisfies the region's needs and the district in the highly qualified specialists, acting as a scientific and cultural centre. He coordination council supports the Bologna process, and credit-modular system, system of modular control, rating system of the students' knowledge estimation and education quality control system is functioning in the University. The concepts of Magna Charta Universitatum are being implemented in the University. The academic teaching staff is conducting fundamental and professional education, approximately 80% of whom possess Dr.Sc. and PhD degrees. Multi-level educational programs, which consider the experience of the best technical and technological universities of the world, are functioning in the University. Educational activity in the University is based on students' possibility to choose from the wide range of academic programs and subject courses. - PSTU was founded in November 1930 as a professional training school. In 1933 it became Mariupol Metallurgical Institute. From 1948 until 1989 it was Zhdanov Metallurgical Institute. From 1989 – 1993 it again became Mariupol Metallurgical Institute. The Postgraduate Department was established in 1960. In 1993 PSTU received university status and became Pryazovskyi State Technical University. Since 2009 its official name is State Higher Education Institution "Pryazovskyi State Technical University". It also incorporates three research institutes, two colleges, a Professional Education Lyceum, and two Technical Secondary Schools. PSTU provides In-Service Training and Continuous Education Institute and a Preparatory Department. The University offers graduate and professional educational programs for students from the Azov Sea region, Ukraine and other countries. The student body includes about 11.000 students working towards bachelor, specialist and master degrees. The advanced degree programs are offered through the postgraduate department. Today, the University university faculty is 500 teaching staff, including 46 professors with doctorates and about 229 docents with science candidates. Among them are 50 full and affiliated members of various branch academies of sciences in Ukraine and abroad, six honoured fellows of science and engineering, laureates of national prizes and honoured workers in the education of Ukraine. Pryazovskyi State Technical University is implementing the European educational degree standards. This response to the innovative trends in higher education systems in Europe is linked to joining the Bologna Process. - The University central building is an architectural monument of the early XIX-th century. This educational establishment was founded in 1818 as the Institute for Noble Maidens. The walls of the Noble Maidens' Institute saw I.P.Kotlyarevsky and T.G.Shevchenko. The outstanding personalities of Ukrainian, Czech, Russian history and culture used to work as teachers at the Institute. Among the graduates of this educational establishment were O.S.Pushkin's and M.V.Gogol's great-granddaughters, famous Ukrainian democratic writer Lyubov Yanovska. Founded in the summer of 1930 as the Farm Building Engineers Institute, this educational institution was reformed into the Civil Engineering Institute in the 1960s. During the Ukrainian State's independence formation period, the research and teaching staff rapidly reformed the one-field building engineering institute into the multi-field technical University (1993) meeting the region's demand for experts in nearly 30 specialities. In 1997, on the occasion of the 100-the anniversary of the outstanding cosmonautics theorist from Poltava, a brilliant engineer and inventor, Yuri Kondratyuk (Olexandr Sharkey), according to the Ukrainian Government's decision, the University was awarded his name. In 2002 the University was given the national one's status for its notable contribution to national science and education development and was internationally recognized. It is training over 10 thousand students from 23 regions of Ukraine and 11 foreign countries. In April 2010, the University staff was awarded the Honorary Certificate by the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers. - Now Lutsk National Technical University, the unique educational, scientific, and cultural phenomenon has appeared as the combination of Kyiv, Lviv, and Volyn science's best traditions and has become the main Volyn Technical establishment that multiplies town's glory. Due to the ongoing work of the teaching staff and former rector achieved the leading university of Volyn. From year to year, the university's status changed, scientific potential grew, material, technical and laboratory base improved, cooperation and connection with other educational establishments of Ukraine developed. In 1971 the faculty was subordinated to the Ukrainian Institute of Water Transport Engineering. After a while, according to the Council of Ministers' decision, the faculty was subordinated to Lviv Polytechnical Institute, and four years later, it was reorganized into the Lutsk Branch of Lviv Polytechnical Institute with the branch in the town of Novovolynsk. April 1, 1991 – Lutsk Industrial Institute's formation based on Lutsk Branch of Lviv Polytechnical Institute. It consisted of four faculties, thirteen and later seventeen departments. In that year, 289 graduates got their diplomas of engineers in Lutsk Industrial Institute. But the administration of the university and the leading scientists did not want to stop on achieved. The number of faculties was increased, the Post-Graduate School was opened. The university got the right to earn a Candidate's Degree (Ph.D.). The institute began to train specialists with the qualification degrees of Bachelor, Specialist, and Master. New departments appeared. The structure of the branch was improved and modified. The departments of General Engineering Subjects and Engineering Drawing were formed. The main feature of the branch reorganization made in 1985 was a redistribution of departments according to new faculties. Several new departments were formed based on the faculties: General Subjects, Technology of Machine Building and Engineering departments based on Technological Faculty Technical Sciences, Technical Mechanics and Agricultural Machine Building departments - based on Machine Building Faculty and Department of Higher Mathematics – based on Evening Faculty. Our state was changing, and so were modern views concerning culture and education. They attained democratic character aimed at world standards, models, and methods. There were many difficulties, but Lutsk Industrial Institute tried to develop and kept pace with the times despite them. Reorganization of the institution took place. The scientific council was founded, and four faculties: Mechanical Engineering, Machine Building, Evening, and Correspondence Study were formed. Today Lutsk NTU trains specialists at full-time training and training by correspondence. The structure of the university: 7 faculties, four centers, three colleges, 38 departments, where about 12 thousand students study. The history of Lutsk NTU will be continued. Today teachers' body amounts 395 people. Among them, there are 30 Doctors of Science and Professors, 315 Ph. Doctors and Associate Professors, Academicians, and Corresponding Members of Branch Academies. Such spectral variety enriches the university, makes it mobile and vital. University teaching staff is made up of talented people, professionals with great pedagogical, and life experience. Among them, there are hundred honored workers of Ukraine's education. - NTU "KhPI" has developed its Learning Content Management System (LCMS) to solve problems using e-learning resources in all education forms. NTU "KhPI" organizes student education activity from the moment of application to the training program. It supports a full quantity of materials, starting from the course structure's prior planning and content development to integrating into the educational process. It provides a clear separation of available functionality for different users as administrators, course authors, developers, teachers, students, guests, etc. In the interaction between students and teachers, electronic messages with options for e-mail copies and RSS-syndication are used. - Kyiv polytechnic institute (since 2016 – National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”) was founded in 1898. Over the period of its existence it has trained 370 thousand of specialists, 60 thousand of which during of the period of Ukrainian independence. KPI ranks 4% of the best universities of the world according to the international rating QS and Webometrics. It annually holds the highest positions among the best higher educational establishments of Ukraine – “Compass” and “TOP-200 Ukraine”. According to Google Corporation, it is the most popular higher educational establishment of Ukraine during the last years. Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is one of biggest educational establishments in Europe. It trains 25 thousand of students, postgraduates doctorates as well as foreign student from neighbouring and far abroad countries. Every sixth student of Kyiv city is obtaining the education in KPI and every 25th professor and associate professor of Ukraine is a fellow worker of KPI, among all technical higher educational establishments of our country, every fifth faculty and chair is the faculty of chair of KPI. Those who are interested in history of science and technology are familiarized with State polytechnic museum of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute being one of the biggest Ukrainian museums of technology and equipment and the biggest university museum of Ukraine. To remember renowned predecessors there is a monument to famous graduates, scientists whose lives were connected with KPI on campus. The idea of establishment of technical educational institution occurred to sugar mill workers of south-west regions. On 18th of January 1880 with the active support of the head of Kyiv exchange committee N. Hryakov it was decided to open the subscription for donation-raising. Raising money, guaranteed the contributions of Kyiv patrons and support from the Minister of Justice I. Witte who allowed to make a decision on 25th of November 1896 on private meeting in L.I. Brodskyi’s house to establish Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Under the voting of S.M. Solskogo (Kyiv mayor) and with the participation of local authorities representatives, South-west railroad administration, engineers and manufacturer The Protocol that “comprises actually first practical document in the history of higher technical education institution in the Kyiv city” was ratified. “The most accepted type of the new educational institution should de denoted as Polytechnic institute type, which consists of several departments of various specialties, as in polytechnic school of Zurich, Karlsruhe, Munich, Vienna, Hannover, Aachen, Dresden, Riga etc” was noted in this document. The main building is the letter from the beginning of the last century. Special committee for solving organizational issues , headed by general-governor of South-west region count O.P. Ignatyev, was created by order of manufacture and trade department of Ministry of Finance. For the establishment of the institution were raised voluntary donations total cost of which was 1 000 374 karbovantsiv, while the cost of building and outfitting was 2 650 000 karbovantsiv. Among organizations and people, who donated money were: Kyiv city Duma – 300 000 karbovantsiv, Tereshenko and sons – 150 000 karbovantsiv, L. Brodskyi – 100 000 karbovantsiv, Kyiv land bank – 15 000 karbovantsiv, Krasiliv sugar factoy Company – 2 000 karbovantsiv, totally 139 companies, banks, factories, institutions, several people. Famous architects took part in the contest of Polytechnic institute building projects: Benua, Gogen, Kitner, Kobelev, Pomerancev, Cender and Shreter. The best one was prof. I.S. Kitner’s project, for which buildings of Kyiv polytechnic institute were built. As he lived in St. Petersburg and couldn’t run working process directly, the work was headed by architect O.V. Kobelev. After precise acquaintance the area of 38 dissipations along Brest- Lithuanian highway was chosen. On 31st of August 1898 Kyiv polytechnic institute was opened, where the head of trade and manufacture Department announced Great behest apropos of this. 4 departments were denoted: mechanical (109 students), engineering (101 students), agricultural (87 students), chemical (63). First enrolments were announced in June 1898. According to the Regulations, all comers, who had certificates from grammar school, real colleges or other secondary schools that are equal to grammar schools, were allowed to take the examinations. Entrants from other universities were enrolled out of competition. 1100 applications for 330 places were submitted. The examinations in mathematics, physics and Russian language were successfully passed by more entrants than it was predicted. By intercession of university board, Ministry of finance allowed to enlist 30 more entrants. Studies began at 1st of September at the apartment, which was built for commercial college (Vorovskogo street), which was rented by university for one year. After finishing the building (April 1902) institute had a full complex of buildings: main building - engineering, mechanical and agrieconomic departments, chancery, fundamental science-technical library chemical building - chemical department mechanical workshops with central power station for lighting of all buildings and heating of the main building field research buildings, yard for livestock, agricultural farm and garden living quarters for professors and laboratoriants - 2 buildings canteen. V.L. Kirpovich was appointed for the first head of KPI, being a specialist in the sphere of organization and establishment of higher education institutions. Leading figures of science D.I. Mendeleev, M.E. Jukovskyi, K.A. Temirayzev and others gave science methodical support in organizing and establishment of the university. Pedagogical group of KPI was first to introduce the competition to order of appointment for professors of departments exceptionally from persons, who has a degree. It was the most appropriate method of staffing the departments by highly-qualified specialists. For working in the institute many famous scientists from Kyiv, Moscow, Petersburg, Kazan, Kharkov were invited. There were prominent specialists in theoretical mechanics O.P. Kothelnikov and O.M. Dinnik, mathematics V.P. Ermakov and B.Y. Bukreev, one of the founders of theory of metal cutting K.O. Zvoriking, geologist-mineralogist O.V. Nechaev, famous scientist, metallurgist V.P. Ijevskyi, heating engineer O.O. Radzig, prominent specialist in bridge building E.O. Paton, gifted chemists M.I. Konovalov and L.V.Pasarjevskyi, architecture academician O.V. Kobelev, artst M.K. Pimonenko. Later world famous scientists mechanics S.P. Timoshenko, K.K. Siminskyi, S.V. Serensen and others were invited for teaching at the institute. First head of KPI State examination board in 1903 was D.I. Mendeleev. Only 93 graduates received the certificates - it was very hard to study, especially payment, revolution were expanding. First graduates of KPI were presented with breast Toksnof graduate along with certificates. Already from 1899 the movement for creation of fifth, aeronautic department of KPI began and it was leaded by one of the biggest enthusiasts of aviati8n professor Mykola Artsmiyev, talanted apprentice of Mykola Jukovskyi. From his initiative aeronautic section within KPI mechanical club was organized in 1905-1906. Professor Stepan Timoshenko became the first honorable chief of section and student of mechanic department Victorin Bobrov became its vice-chief. In September 1908 section was reorganized into aeronautic club with airplanes, helicopters, and engines departments. KPI professor Mykola Delone (son of the pioneer of aviation Boris Delone) was passionate propagandist of aviation and gliding idea, who became one of the founders of Kyiv aeronautic community (KAC). Exactly KAC was the first aviation nucleus, in work of which participated professors, engineers, constructors and KPI students who were speaking with lectures on aviation, building and testing flying vehicles, gliders. Inalienable page of KPI history is its participation in antidemocratic movement of the country, which was performed under slogan of democratization of high schools, freedom of students communities. Already in spring 1899, i.e. at first year of existence of university, its alumni took part in All-Russian student strict, directed against reaction Policy of government. Governments answer was expulsion, detention and exile of 32 students - organizers and active participants of the strike. But it was not the last student riot and students were participating in all tempestuous events of the beginning of 20th century. In the summer of 1918 the fifth faculty was created – the electro technical. Classes at the institute stopped and continued in correlation to the progress of the war in Kiev. Social transformations of the country were equally represented in the fundamental changes of the university governance principles. After the revolution and civil war it was imperative to rebuilt the economy of Ukraine, and a number of industries had to be created or restored, among them: machine-building engineering, machine tool engineering, automotive industry, chemical industry, defense sector, tractor engineering, metallurgy and others, it was necessary renew the old and build new businesses and technically re-equip them. To meet these requirements of the national plan the engineering intellectuals had to be trained in a short period of time. This important task was entrusted on different universities of the country including the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, which was renamed to Industrial in 1934. In June in 1941 KPI concluded 43 th academic year. The Institute had 3,000 students, more than 300 faculty members and the total number of the institute staff was about 5,000 people. Like in other universities, graduates defended their diploma works and received a job, students of the senior courses had manufacturing practices in various cities of the country, students of the junior courses had bridging exams. The War united everybody with a common goal - protecting the homeland. From the first days of the war, many lecturers and staff, graduates and students of the institute voluntarily and through mobilization joined the Red Army. They took part in the fighting on all fronts of the World War II. Graduates of the institute, who remained on the occupied territories participated in the underground and guerilla struggle. Late in June 1941 the Institute received orders to prepare for evacuation to Tashkent, where it functioned as a part of the Central Asian Industrial Institute. The liberation of Kyiv in November 1943 made it possible to reopen the institute: began the registration of the faculty members, staff and students that returned to the Institute. In the second half of January 1944 the Selection Committee started its work of accepting first year students and renewal of the senior course students. All efforts of the institute was aimed at restoring educational material basis, because as a result of Nazi occupation and fierce battles for Kyiv more than a half of the total area of classrooms were destroyed, dormitories were burnt down and other property was looted. Because the Institute was included in the list of the most important industrial and transport universities of the country, students of all courses were exempted from draft into the Soviet Army and also were provided increased stipend (that concerned primarily students who studied foundry, forging, pressing and chemical production). Since the reconstruction works terms were constantly violated, in the summer of 1945 the students and teachers volunteered to do all urgent works during their month of holiday vacation. To improve the quality of training, the scientific research work and involvement of students, especially of the senior year, had great importance. The basic form of their involvement in research during the postwar years were scientific groups, and on its basis in April 1946 the student science and technology community was created. At the time of creation it had nine sections, which have united 30 groups of different specialties and about 500 students. The groups were directed by leading scientists of the institute. Due to the reorganization of units of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialistic Republic Ministry of Education on the base of the Kyiv evening faculty of Ukrainian Polygraphist Institute of Fedorov in 1989 the graphic arts faculty had entered the structure of KPI, which on September 6, 2004 was renamed to Publishing and Graphic Arts Institute. It was founded on January 1, 1954, in Kiev, on the basis of Art and Crafts School of Graphic Arts № 18 as training and advisory department of Moscow Printing Institute. Today Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is the largest institution of higher education in Ukraine. Given the large organizational role Kiev Polytechnic Institute in the preparation of engineering and scientific personnel, by the decree of President of Ukraine № 289/95 of 8 April 1995 "On the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" it was given the status of National Technical University of Ukraine. In April 2007 the Committee of the Board of Education of Ukraine, was decided to provide KPI the status of research university, and its Regulations are approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 21.11.2007, № 1332. Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 03.02.2010 № 76 gave NTUU "KPI" the status of self-governing (autonomous) national research university. According to the order of Minister of Education and Science, Lilia Hrynevych, dated August, 17, 2016 №992 to grant National technical university of Ukraine "Kyiv politechnical institute" with the name, university was named in tribute to the former student , outstanding aircraft designer of XX century I. I. Sikorsky. Thus, it's full name from now on is National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute".

About eight years after its foundation, the Faculty of Basic Sciences, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and Faculty of Forestry were established through staff assignment for the rector's office and faculties under the law no. 336 dated 19 September 1963. The university commenced its educational activities in the elementary school building of Ataturk Primary School located in the Esentepe neighborhood of Trabzon on 2 December 1963. With KTU flourishing expeditiously, faculty staff was assigned to Earth Sciences and Medicine faculties with the law no. 1659 dated 4 January 1973. Following the Law on Higher Education enactment no. 2547 in 1981, the university accelerated its expansion with new faculties and departments opened. Today, KTU is one of the outstanding universities in Turkey with its 12 faculties, one school, six graduate schools, eight vocational schools, 24 research and application centers, and 2,077 well-qualified academics 40,000 students from 81 provinces of Turkey and many different countries. Our university incorporates two separate dormitory complexes conducted by the Higher Education Student Loans and Dormitories Institution (KYK). Dogu Karadeniz Dormitory is located on the south-eastern side of the campus, next to the Pharmacology Faculty. It is composed of eight blocks providing accommodation to female students with its one to three-person rooms. The other dormitory is located next to Carsi Building on Kanuni Campus and comprises four separate blocks providing accommodation to male students. Apart from these, there are dormitories (for both males and females) on Fatih Faculty of Education Campus, in the city center, and in Yomra, Surmene, Of, Macka, and Besikduzu districts of Trabzon.
- Middle East Technical University is founded under the name of "Orta Doğu Yüksek Teknoloji Enstitüsü" (Middle East High Technology Institute) on November 15th, 1956, to contribute to the development of Turkey and Middle East countries and especially to train people to create a skilled workforce in the fields of natural and social sciences. "Arrangements and Procedures as for the Foundation of METU, Law No 6887" was enacted on January 29th, 1957. Finally, "Foundation Act No 7307", which sets forth the particular standing of METU and describes the conditions rendering METU as a juridical entity, was enacted on May 27th, 1959. Middle East Technical University's presence brought about new methods and introduced innovations to the Turkish higher education system, manifesting METU as a nationwide pioneer of modern education. In its earliest years, part of METU was located in a small building that belonged Social Security Office of Retirees at Kizilay's Müdafaa Street. The other section was located in the barracks behind the TBMM (Turkey's National Grand Assembly). In 1963, the University moved to its current campus location, the first university campus in Turkey. - Bursa Technical University was founded as the second state university in Bursa following the Council of Ministers' decree, which was published in the official gazette on 21.07.2010 with the number 27648. The University has six faculties, two institutes, and a school of foreign languages. There is an academic preparatory class that gives education in the English language at a high level. - Don Bosco Technical College Mandaluyong (DBTC) is a private Catholic educational institution in Manila, Philippines, owned and operated by the Salesians of Don Bosco.DBTC offers all-boys Elementary and an academic and technical curriculum Junior High School education, co-educational Senior High and Tertiary education, and vocational training for out-of-school youth. Don Bosco Technical College stands on historic and hallowed grounds. The 18th-century Spanish building (1716) at the heart of the campus is a testimony to events that led to the 1896 uprising of the country's patriots, the Katipuneros, against the Spanish colonizers. The building later became the Asilo de Mandaloya, an orphanage where the saintly Mother Consuelo Barcelo y Pages stayed for 16 years (1883-1899). She co-founded the Augustinian Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation. Her cause for canonization has been introduced. Early in the 20th century, the building became the San Carlos Seminary, home to form the local clergy. One of them was Rufino Cardinal Santos, the first Filipino cardinal of the Church. Don Bosco-Mandaluyong opened as a school on 2 June 1953 with 47 first-year high school students. More and more students heard of this different school, with an innovative dual academic and technical curriculum. By its first graduation in 1957, the elementary and high school levels' enrollment increased tremendously, representing a cross-section and a happy blend of the poor and the affluent. From its crude beginning, the Salesian work in Mandaluyong immediately gained efficiency and prominence. By January 1954, the feast of the Epiphany, Fr. Mario Acquistapace, SDB (Provincial Superior), declared Don Bosco-Mandaluyong "the motherhouse of the Salesian works in the Philippines." Since its foundation, Don Bosco-Mandaluyong has grown into a complex setting whose services include the following departments: Grade School, High School, College of Engineering, Entrepreneurship and Information Technology, Manpower Skills and Training Center, Center for Research and Training, Information Systems and Technology Center, together with the Don Bosco Youth Center, St. Dominic Savio Parish, and the Pinardi Boarding House for Migrant Youth. The College Department made history in 2004 with the acceptance of 28 first-year females. By going coed, Don Bosco Mandaluyong states a world where women are devalued and degraded that men must relate with women as equal in dignity and complementary in their vocation "Pro Deo et Patria." The primary grades were revived in the Mandaluyong campus in the school year 2005-2006. In 1989, seven sections, each of grades 1 to 4, were moved to the Salesian Sisters' school in Sta. Mesa, Manila. Because of the dwindling number of boys enrolling in Don Bosco School Manila's primary levels, the Mandaluyong campus reopened the primary levels for consistency in character formation and curriculum development, specifically information literacy well as for earlier intervention in family life. Don Bosco-Mandaluyong takes pride, too, in its students who have given back to life in no half measures. The names of Roderick Flores and Sigmund Occasion were included among the twenty-eight "Fruits of the Preventive System" presented as holiness models to the whole Salesian world by the Rector Major, Fr. Pascual Chavez, SDB, who visited the school on its golden jubilee in 2003. Giovanni Bosco (Don Bosco) was born to a poor farmer's family on 16 August 1815 in Becchi, in Northern Italy's countryside, near Turin. After his priestly ordination in 1841, Don Bosco moved to Turin to continue his studies. As a priest, part of his work was to visit the prisons around Turin, where young boys were imprisoned together with serious criminals. In the streets, he met homeless boys roaming around aimlessly; most of them were jobless. Don Bosco was profoundly touched by their circumstances and decided to dedicate himself to their wellbeing. The core of his work was done in the "Oratory," which started as a Sunday school where Don Bosco would meet boys from the street for worship, breakfast, and catechesis. Likewise, by offering vocational training, the boys started to learn a trade and earn an honest living. As a Catholic priest, Don Bosco worshiped catechesis and confessed to teaching the boys to become good Christians. Don Bosco developed a pedagogical approach to work with the boys to prevent dysfunctional behavior through proactive encouragement, not enforcing authority. He called this "The Preventive System".The critical element in the system was the constant presence of educators among the boys. As Don Bosco calls it, the preventive system is based on the triad: reason, religion, and loving-kindness. When his work was growing too big, the 'Salesians' congregation was founded, followed by the establishment of the order of 'Salesian Sisters' and the 'Salesian Cooperators' for laypeople. When Don Bosco died on 31 January 1888, the Don Bosco Movement was only starting. Today, more than two hundred years after Don Bosco's death, the Salesians and their Lay Mission Partners are present in 134 countries worldwide.
- Technical University of Moldova (TUM) is the only higher technical educational institution accredited by the State in the Moldova Republic. Since its establishment in 1964 until now, it has trained about 78 387 engineers and economists. At TUM, the studies are organized within nine faculties: "Energetics and Electrical Engineering" "Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, and Transport" "Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics" "Engineering and Management in Electronics and Telecommunications" "Technology and Management in Food Industry" "Light industry" "Cadastre, Geodesy and Construction" "Urbanism and Architecture" "Economic Engineering and Business." Within the 'Faculty of Engineering and Management in Machine Building, «there activates the Technical College. The University offers courses in 60 specialties and specializations for the I cycle, 43 specialties for masters, and 45 specialties for a doctorate, covering the national economy's needs in preparing engineers. At TUM, studies are organized under the European System of Transferable Academic Credits (ESTC). The ESTC facilitates the mobility of students and young professionals in the European area with recognition of diplomas. To cope with the market economy's demands, it has been modified the concept of training engineers by completing the list of subjects relating to engineering specialty itself with a series of economic-managerial disciplines. For this purpose, several international languages are studied (English, French, or German). The disciplines of economic and managerial nature will help the engineer in the future to initiate a proper business. Of those over 60 thousand businessmen working in Chisinau, about 75 percent are graduates from TUM. At TUM, activate branches of particular groups to teach all the subjects in one of the modern languages. At the "Faculty of Computers, Informatics, and Microelectronics," they have the Francophone Branch "Informatics" and the Anglophone Branch "Computer Sciences and Electronics." At the "Faculty of Engineering and Management in the Food Industry,» it activates the Francophone Branch "Food Technologies." Students from these branches do linguistic and specialized internships in the USA, France, Canada, Germany, etc. Many of them write their license theses and the best students follow the master or doctorate courses in those countries. The TUM students do their internships at companies of the country (private and State), with which the University has contracts based on mutual interest. Every year, hundreds of students from TUM do their internships in other countries. TUM maintains Scientific and Didactic links: Romania, Russia, Ukraine, France, Italy, Germany, USA, Canada, England, Czech Republic, Turkey, Belgium, Slovakia, etc. To scientific researchers at TUM is given special attention, they being an essential component of education. Students actively participate in the research process, which leads to raising their level of professional training. As a rule, the University wins first place in the exhibitions "Infoinvent" held annually in Moldova and international exhibitions. In the last years, TUM has won over 30 gold medals, silver and bronze medals, and many honorable mentions. TUM cooperates with more than 75 universities and scientific centers from different countries. Here are held international scientific conferences and symposiums. TUM is a member of the Black Sea Region Universities Network, including 11 countries of the Regional Economic Cooperation. Thus, TUM fits into a university area, which will become part of Europe's unique university area. University life includes other aspects as well – sports, amateur artistic activities, etc. Sport plays a significant role in the University. Factors contributing to sports development are improving from year to year: built modern stadiums and gyms specialists in the field train students. TUM participates in all the 18 sports of the republican students where they win first places. At TUM, there are artistic groups of music and folk dance. University Fanfare is in the second place, being preceded by the Presidential Fanfare of Moldova. We can conclude that, in the 4-5 years of studies at TUM, the studious youth is formed civic and professionally at the highest requirements. TUM graduates successfully work in various branches of the national economy, contributing significantly to the formation of the Republic of Moldova's new intellectuality and completing our young State's leading structures. The Technical University of Moldova is recognized on the national scientific research stage, with remarkable results and internationally. The six research centers TUM successfully put the University's research strategy into practice in numerous research grants and programs won through competition. The research results are embodied in scientific papers, monographs, and patents, all bringing prestige to the University. Students are involved in the research and development of year and license projects by presenting results at national and international conferences. The Technical University of Moldova proposes raising the value of the national engineering education through the quality of education as a determinant of the competitiveness of local human potential development of scientific and technical research as an indispensable component in professional engineering training encouraging mobility of students and teachers promoting access and integration of graduates in the local labor market, etc. Higher Education of the Republic of Moldova is in an era of great transformation required by implementing the principles of the Bologna Process, which resulted in restructuring the entire national university education. The great challenge of the new concept that launches to the academic education is competitiveness at national, European, and global levels. To meet the imperatives of the time, the Technical University of Moldova has structured the educational process in two cycles, giving young people a wide variety of courses in the technical field in the I cycle – license and cycle II – Master.
