About Me

  1. AAU Started providing academic services in 1990, Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) was the first private University and pioneer of private education in Jordan. AAU has been accorded institutional and programmatic accreditation. It is a member of the International Association of Universities, Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World, Union of Arab Universities, and Association of Arab Private Institutions of Higher Education. AAU always seeks distinction by upgrading learning outcomes by adopting methods and strategies that depend on quality control and effective follow-up at all its faculties, departments, centers, and administrative units. The overall aim is to become a flagship university at the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Arab World level. In this vein, AAU has adopted Information Technology as an essential ingredient in its activities, especially e-learning. It has incorporated it in its educational processes in all fields of specialization to become the first such University. Al-Ahliyya Amman University is committed to develop and apply the "Quality Assurance Standards in Higher Education Institutions" and to follow any other adopted quality standards by investing human and physical energies to produce an academically and morally outstanding generation who can deal with the requirements of the time and keep up with the new developments efficiently and effectively. This act aims to meet students' needs and enable the University to play its role in promoting academic research, community services, and depicting Jordan as a distinctive educational destination at the regional level. Excellence in providing teaching, learning, and academic research with a high quality of international standards to enhance the status of Al-Ahliyya Amman University as the first private University in Jordan and the Arab world, and to make it a preferred choice to students and researchers. This can be achieved by providing an academic environment that seeks excellence and by preparing qualified human cadres specialized in various fields of knowledge to meet society's needs and the requirements of sustainable development. Higher education is presently witnessing several developments that necessitate a thorough reconsideration of the status quo. Such developments deem it imperative to exert more efforts to identify current challenges. Higher education needs to respond well to the dictates of this stage in two ways: keeping abreast of academic and technological developments and adapting academic programs to the ever-changing market demands without losing sight of providing an environment where students undergo personal growth that generates in them a spirit of responsibility and genuine belonging to their nation. In this new setting, students should be able to keep up with information relating to their fields of specialization to meet their communities' current and future needs, with their eyes firmly fixed on realizing national economic and social goals and competing at the regional and international levels. The strategic plan of the University has been prepared in compliance with the directives of the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Academic Research. The Committee entrusted with writing the plan comprises three teams: an Administrative Team, an Executive Team, and a Consultative Team. The plan has been thoroughly and objectively discussed top-down as a final point of reference, taking into account the directives of the Jordan Ministry of Higher Education and Academic Research, the final arbiter at the national level. The University faculties make every effort to offer academic programs geared towards meeting the local and international market's needs by bridging the gap between skills deemed essential by the employers and the university programs. The training and self-learning that the students experience at the University ideally prepare them as graduates to join the workforce without any need for further training or orientation, making Al-Ahliyya Amman University graduates more competitive. To emphasize this feature, the University continuously initiates new programs of study at graduate and undergraduate levels. Creating a unique and progressive environment to become a leading Arab university by promoting excellence in teaching and learning, motivating scientific research, and keeping pace with the developments and updates to enhance the University standing locally and regionally, maintaining a high-quality output relevant to labor market needs and strengthening sustainable partnerships with society at large.
  2. Amman Arab University was founded in 1999 as a non-profit private university specializing in graduate studies under Amman Arab University for Graduate Studies. It became the first University in Jordan that offers graduate programs leading to Masters and Doctoral Degrees. The Higher Education Accreditation Commission fully accredits the University in Jordan and a member of the Arab Universities Association and a member International Universities Association. The University always endeavors to attain distinction and foster the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation in quality teaching, originality of research work, and community services. The University takes it upon itself to provide the job market and stakeholders with well-informed and well-trained graduates who are expected to excel in their professions and meet the demands and requirements desired by interested parties. The University also works industriously to nurture entrepreneurship potentials and creative ideas of its students and urge them to invest all energies and potentials to pursue and apply what they acquire in their work-life after graduation. Moreover, the University is determined to be one of its kind in promoting scientific, critical, and creative thinking. It moves enthusiastically to achieve distinction through theory and practice-based teaching. The study plans are carefully fashioned to meet the demands and challenges of the market. The University aspires to be a modern and comprehensive university renowned locally, regionally, and internationally for its curriculum and study plans. Further, the University enhances pluralism and civilized thinking, and cultural integration; also, it disseminates the culture of understanding and tolerance; at the same time, it denounces all kinds of violence, fanaticism, and prejudice. Two phases have passed. The first started with the early inception of the University in 1999 as specialized only in graduate studies. The second began when the University became more comprehensive and launched several undergraduate programs in 2009. In turn, its name changed to Amman Arab University. Since its inception up to the present time, the University has provided the local and Arab community with highly qualified graduates, taught and nurtured at the hand of distinguished faculty members who acquired Graduate Degrees at various universities, local, regional, and international. The University harbors seven Faculties: the Faculty of Educational and Psychological Sciences, the Faculty of Business, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Computer Sciences and Information System, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Pharmacy, in addition to the Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies and Deanship of Students Affairs. Recently, the University has scored a new accomplishment when accredited among the top 100 universities in the Arab World according to QS Classification, moving 120 points ahead of last year classification, also rated the seventh among the Jordanian universities and the third among the private Jordanian universities. Our chief mission is to produce graduates equipped with critical thinking, creativity, and lifelong learning trends. Our students acquire essential skills and knowledge that enable them to live up to challenges and to become leaders in their communities and to support quality research and innovation of both faculty members and students who may invest their knowledge and expertise to promote continuous quality improvement and to build an effective partnership with the community via the following objectives: To maintain the academic programs to keep abreast of the national and international standards. To disseminate quality assurance education and constant innovation in academic and administrative pursuits. To enrich theoretical and practical knowledge in accord with ethical and societal standards. To facilitate students' skills and trends for entrepreneurship, self-learning, teamwork, and decent competition. To embrace the ethics and conventions of academic research and emphasize its importance in achieving continuous evolvement. To consolidate the character of University and its participation in community service. To build an academic community that embraces interaction and integration and encourage the spirit of teamwork among students and faculty members.
  3. Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) is the first private University in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Established by a decision from the Ministry of Higher Education and Research in 1989, the University opened its doors in 1990 with three faculties: Faculty of Law, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences. The following year saw the Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medical Sciences, and the Faculty of Engineering. Since its establishment, Al- Ahliyya Amman University has been supplying the local and Arab market with many graduates who have taken up important positions in local and regional institutions in both the public and private sectors. Many of these graduates have pursued their graduate studies in several prestigious European and American universities and obtained Masters or Doctoral degrees in their fields. Some of them currently work for Al-Ahliyya Amman University or other Jordanian, Arab, and world universities. The number of graduates in various disciplines offered by the University has reached (14 477) students. With the establishment of the Faculty of Nursing in 2005 by a decision from the Ministry of Higher Education, the University came to comprise seven faculties. In 2009, Architecture and Civil Engineering were accredited, bringing the number to twenty-five specialties, all with plans compatible with local and international standards. The University faculties always seek to provide specialties and academic programs tailored to meet the needs of the local and regional labor market by developing the necessary infrastructure, establishing specialized centers that aim to bridge the gap between the academia and the labor market, and providing integrated services designed to upgrade the outcomes of the educational process represented by graduates qualified in the academic, technical, practical and personal spheres. The University started a graduate program in Law in 2005, and in 2009 it offered graduate programs in Clinical Psychology and Pharmaceutical Sciences, all of which having been granted full accreditation and certification. In turn, the University has offered distinctive programs and provided suitably qualified staff members in response to these graduate programs. To meet the administrative, financial, and technical work requirements, the University has provided an administrative cadre qualified to work in different departments and divisions. They all seek to provide the University community of students, parents, and staff members, with the best services. The role of the University is focused not only on the academic aspect but also on the services offered to the local community. Thus several seminars and courses held at the University have been attended by members of the community. Also, the University offers different services and support for the neighboring areas. In terms of future planning, the University Administration is developing strategic plans to ensure the sustainability of its approach by providing quality programs based on the latest areas of knowledge. These programs meet the labor market's needs in terms of academic plans, qualified staff members, and scientific equipment and resources. Al-Ahliyya Amman University has always demonstrated itself as a leading university in introducing and taking initiatives. The University has complied with the Royal directions to reconsider universities' study plans and programs, connect the offered programs with the labor market requirements to raise graduates' level and increase their competition opportunities. In line with these directions, the University has added a range of new programs in the following majors: Networks and Information Security, E-Commerce, Electrical Engineering in its new form, Television, Cinema, and Theatrical Design, in addition to twenty-five existing BA programs in eight academic faculties. The University also paid particular attention to graduate programs. It grants Master's Degrees in Law, Clinical Psychology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Business Administration, Joint Business Administration with Herriot-Watt University, Communications Engineering, and English Language. Al-Ahliyya Amman University shall be rated among the best universities in Jordan and the Arab world.

  5. Our community of approximately 800 students representing 40 different nationalities. ACS inspires individuals to become self-motivated learners and compassionate citizens who demonstrate respect, act with integrity, and seek intellectual growth in a culture of high expectations. We want our school to be like a meal featuring Jordan’s national dish "Mansaf". Mansaf consists of a huge platter of rice served with a yogurt-based stew and meat on top. What makes this dish special is that it is a communal dish that is eaten with friends, family, and honored guests standing around this large platter. While eating, participants share stories, laugh together, discuss the latest politics, sometimes argue, and occasionally share their sorrow. Mansaf is traditionally served to celebrate successes, welcome new members, or mourn. This is much like our community we come together to support and encourage each other and share our desire to make learning irresistible. When we look at our students, we do not just see who they are now, but we also envision who they can become. Every day, in every class, we strive to invigorate and challenge their thinking, to push their creativity, to build their confidence, and to prepare them with the skills and aptitudes to face any challenge the world may toss their way. We also understand that our students learn in different ways and have different talents and skills. Our task, as a school, is to find how your child learns best and to tailor our instruction to your child’s specific needs. We are both honored and humbled to be a partner with parents, as we collectively build the foundation of their children’s character in a climate of support, encouragement, and intellectual risk-taking. The brick and mortar buildings do not determine a student’s success but rather the relationships built and contributions made. You will also be able to observe firsthand the passion and energy our engaged staff has for our work that drives our commitment to provide an outstanding education for our students. Our location in the heart of the Middle East allows for an educational experience that our students are unlikely to experience elsewhere in the world. Jordan is home to Petra, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and the Dead Sea, which is located at the lowest point on earth, giving our students the unique opportunity to live and learn in a country steeped in history and tradition. The American Community School opened its doors in 1955 when Mr. and Mrs. Ben Parker opened their residence to American families interested in a school with an American curriculum. During that first year, there were only 12 students in grades 1 through 8. As the young Kingdom grew, so did the demand for an American day school, which could provide an education that would allow students to reintegrate into the American system back home. In 1965, a small piece of land just outside of town was acquired with the vision of building a real campus. The students moved out of Parker’s home and into a school with 5 classrooms, a library, and around the multi-purpose room. As the city expanded, so did the school: that rural plot of land is now in the center of metropolitan Amman. Today, ACS boasts 65 classrooms, a fully equipped sports facility, a performing arts center, and state-of-the-art science and technology labs. An ACS student’s adventures are not limited to Jordan our students frequently participate in international academic, sports, and fine arts competitions. What started as a school for American residents in Amman became a melting pot of international students from over 40 countries. These students bring with them their unique traditions and cultural experiences, giving our students a global perspective on life. The American Community School of Amman, Jordan, is the U.S. accredited, independent, non-profit, Pre-K through grade 12 school that offers a rigorous U.S. curriculum with an international and regional focus to a diverse, multi-cultural population distinguished by a supportive and cohesive community. Early Years literacy activities prepare students to be successful informal reading, writing, and speaking activities in kindergarten. Students participate in whole-group activities responding to stories read by the teacher and investigate books independently. Students participate in the discussion of literature and informational texts read by the teacher and investigate rhyming and patterned texts, reading a big book in unison with the teacher and the group. They begin to learn letter-sound correspondence and to recognize some letters in the alphabet. Students learn to write their names and dictate stories to be written by an adult. For reading, writing, and mathematics, our standards are based on the Common Core, the U.S. standards followed by 46 States. For science, students study topics based on the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). All other subject areas have standards based on US professional organizations or states. Elementary division of the American Community School of Amman where visitors are struck by the energy, joy, and passion seen in each learning space and on the playground. The Kindergarten Department is an independent unit with its own indoor heated swimming pool, a large playground, and a special KG car track. At ISC-Amman, we consider the school as a dynamic production team. Administrators, teachers, and students are all contributors to this team. Knowledge and ideas are the product of the team effort. Since students are the ones who benefit most directly from the product, they should be most concerned that the product is of high quality. Everyone in a SABIS® Network school has a job to do everyone is accountable. Administrators, students, and staff "self-audit" to discover and correct errors. It is teamwork that allows us to reach heights that would be more difficult to reach individually. Like all SABIS® Network schools around the world, ISC-Amman is a highly academic, non-selective, co-educational, English-medium, independent day school catering for the complete individual. ISC-Amman provides top-quality education to children of different races, nationalities, and backgrounds. At ISC-Amman, we believe we can add more value to students to enable them to perform to the best of their abilities, be admitted to the most competitive universities, and be successful in their careers. The school develops students' academic competencies, learning techniques, interpersonal skills, and personalities, in addition to instilling high ethical, moral, and civic values. The multicultural setting of the school helps students develop a better understanding of world cultures. The curriculum implemented at ISC-Amman is specifically designed by SABIS® to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to develop a solid academic foundation. This foundation will help students achieve their full potential and develop a love of lifelong learning. All courses for students at all levels are structured to enable students and teachers to know precisely what should be learned. Teachers teach one concept at a time using the SABIS Point System® with each lesson alternating frequently between oral work, individual work, and group work in such a way that it is difficult for students to “switch off”. Students engage in regular assessment using exams that teachers do not see in advance. Everyone in the school is accountable. Accordingly, students learn more in class and have more time for relaxation and fun after school. Students who fall behind in their work are advised, motivated, helped, and coached until they catch up. As long as they manage their own time successfully, students' time is theirs, otherwise, help is given. All courses at ISC-Amman are structured. A system of academic tracking - the SABIS® AMS, a computerized method of detecting gaps in knowledge - allows the administration to closely follow the progress of each individual. Gaps are pinpointed as soon as they form, and efforts are focused on eliminating them. Valuable time is saved and a gap-free, cohesive structure of knowledge is built in students' minds.
  8. Thank you for considering our school. The Baptist School is proud to offer families the best educational choices in a warm and loving family atmosphere. Why do we think that our school is your best choice: Our long history of excellence baptist schools in Jordan has been serving the community since 1950. The first Baptist school was established in Ajloun, whereas Amman Baptist School was established in 1974. Last school year we became an authorized International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme School. It is a two-year educational program primarily aimed at 16 to 18-year-olds (grades 11 and 12). The program provides an internationally accepted qualification for entry into higher education and is recognized by many universities worldwide. Picking the right school for your beloved children isn't an easy task. We think ABS is your ideal choice: Passion for knowledge - Many children have a passion for learning that can easily be damaged by boring school days and tedious routines. ABS is all about expanding your child's world, thinking creatively and strategically, exploring, innovating, and collaborating. This applies to all school programs without exception but in varying degrees. Christian School - Deeply rooted Christian values, here at Abs we care about spiritual upbringing as much as physical and mental ones. Islamic religion classes are available to Muslim students whom we welcome with open arms. ABS teaches those students the MOE's curriculum. Location - Perfectly located in the heart of Amman, the Al-Rabieh area is indeed close to everything and is easily accessible in whichever direction you may be coming from. Family Atmosphere - These aren't mere words. We are a true family. Most of our staff are students' parents. When hiring, we always give priority to moms and dads. This, among other things, makes this school unique where all care about the psychological well-being of one another. ABS is all about nurturing family love. Long history - Ours is a long-standing educational fortress. We've been helping bring up fine young men and women of the future since 1974. Different programs to choose from - The school is ever-evolving. We have no problem whatsoever keeping up with all that is new in the world of education. ABS offers the National Program, International Program (IGCSE), and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. Emphasis on character education - We care greatly about raising decent human beings who are global citizens. Making a difference towards the betterment of mankind through raising the next generation is our priority. The Baptist School offers a range of academic programs designed to meet the diverse needs and talents of its students. Curriculums encompass basic and advanced studies. Our graduates are well prepared to become the next generation of leaders, critical thinkers, and innovators in our society. The ABS Kindergarten is dedicated to the glory of God and exists to help children grow spiritually, emotionally, physically, and academically. We have high expectations of our children and want them to excel in everything they do in life. Our Primary School prepares students to be creative, innovative, responsible, and compassionate men and women of the future. Each child is a beloved and valued member of our school. Parents can choose between two programs: The National Program where all subjects are taught in Arabic whilst English is one subject among the rest, and the Cambridge Primary Program where all subjects are taught in English whilst Arabic is one subject among the rest. While our teachers embrace a collaborative approach to learning that supports diverse interests and needs, we are mostly distinguished by the cozy, loving, nurturing, family-like atmosphere here at the Primary School. For us, school is not merely about educating the minds but educating the hearts and souls, too. The school continues to offer consistently the same loving atmosphere and educational programs: National Program and Cambridge Secondary Program. The Baptist School offers the International General Secondary Certificate of English (IGSCE Program), which provides students with an international education with access to a worldwide community of studies and working internationally. Our curriculum is recognized for providing students with a broad and balanced education. The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a two-year educational program primarily aimed at 16 to 18-year-olds (grades 11 and 12). The program provides an internationally accepted qualification for entry into higher education and is recognized by many universities worldwide. IBDP is an academically rigorous and balanced program of education with final examinations (at grade 12) that prepares high school students for success in higher education and life in a global society. The High School is the place where our boys and girls grow into young men and women of the future. As we follow the Ministry of Education's curriculum, we seek to give each boy and girl a well-rounded knowledge, with every opportunity to reach their full potential and be well-prepared for a successful and fulfilling life after graduation. The Baptist School offers the following streams to choose from under The National Program: Scientific Stream, Literary Stream, and Hotel Management. Underpinning all these facets is a level of care that defines The Baptist School as a unique close-knit community that understands that all children are different and that each child is valued for his/her uniqueness. A student's stream of choice is the 1st step towards Higher Education which in turn will shape his/her future career path. Back then, Baptists were renowned in northern Jordan for their distinguished medical services. Indeed, many Jordanians -from all parts of the country- sought them for treatment. Owing to their high-quality performance and their courteous manner, many people expressed an insistent desire for them to add educational programs to their services. With this goal in mind, they enthusiastically pursued the dream of establishing a school in Amman. American and Jordanian Baptist leaders met with the Minister of Education then, His Excellency Mr. Thoqan Al-Hindawi. The meeting concluded that the Ministry is fully willing to cooperate to establish a completely co-educational school. Mr. Hindawi encouragingly stated that the large Jordanian community is in dire need of such a school. In the year 2000, and under the patronage of His Excellency Mr. Eid Al-Fayez, the school held the inauguration ceremony for the new music wing. The wing comprises several rooms specially designed for large group practice as well as small individual ones. The wing maintains state-of-the-art educational requirements, fulfills the needs of the school's large musical band, and provides advanced musical programs. Every year, The Baptist School Students achieve excellent results on both international & national levels. Many of its teachers have been awarded The Queen Rania Al-Abdulla's Award for Excellence in Teaching.
  9. Once you step into Amman National School, you can’t but sense something special about it. It is a place where friendships begin, passions are discovered, and talents are nurtured. Students are known well by teachers and administrators. Parents pitch in to help teachers, read to children and organize funfairs. Alumni drop by just to say hello. Happiness, friendship, care, kindness, and success blend effortlessly, creating the unique ethos and family atmosphere of our school. As a relatively small school of 800 students, aged 4 – 18 years, we can nurture and develop our students in a safe yet stimulating environment. The close care and strong support for each individual are genuinely personalized. A wide range of co-curricular activities are smoothly and effectively incorporated into our challenging curriculum, leaving students enthused in their learning journey and very proud of their achievements. ANS offers a place where students develop the confidence to be intellectually and creatively fearless whether they are singing during a 3rd-grade concert, leading the basketball team to victory, or organizing a science fair. Students find their unique voice at ANS. And while each voice is distinct, together they create a joyful chorus that echoes throughout the school hallways. The father, Mohammad Yousef Taher, who has always believed that good education is the key to positive social change and development, has financed the school and has been an inspiring spirit to the school’s prosperity throughout the years. The school started with grades 1-3 in a rented building. Two years later, the school moved to its current location in Dabouk for grades KG-5. From then onward, the school added a grade every year. The first graduating class was in 1995. Since then, the school has continued to expand and extra facilities and classrooms have been added to provide more learning space and services. ANS, now, has a full enrollment of 800 students from KG-12th grade. ANS is licensed by the Jordanian Ministry of Education and offers the Jordanian National Program for grades (1-12). Students can join an international program starting 9th grade. ANS is authorized to give the International Baccalaureate Diploma for grades (11-12). The majority of students at ANS are Jordanians however, the student body comprises Algerians, Americans, Cypriots, Egyptians, Lebanese, Moroccans, Palestinians, Syrians, Swedish, and Tunisians. ANS is proud to have a trained, experienced and devoted staff. The ratio of students to teachers is 1:8. ANS will be an effective agent of change whereby ANS students will be responsible, tolerant, and productive citizens committed to making a difference in their community and the world. Amman National School is committed to helping each student attain academic achievement and interpersonal skills while paving his/her unique path in this journey. We aim to help children become open-minded and active citizens in a global world while maintaining their Arab identity and heritage. Our Kindergarten consists of 6 classrooms (KG1 and KG2). Classes include up to 25 children with two lead teachers in each class introducing Arabic and English simultaneously. We have highly qualified teachers who average over 10 years of experience at our school. Families and volunteers are an integral part of our program as well. We provide a play-based program that introduces skills through interdisciplinary themes and hands-on projects. We believe in providing learning activities that are concrete, authentic, developmentally appropriate, and relevant to the lives of young children. Children participate in outdoor play and music classes with our music specialist. We cater to the “whole” child and pay special attention to the social and emotional aspects of development. Classrooms are rich and varied and are divided into centers where children act as young scholars constructing knowledge and exploring the environment around them. Our flexible and developmentally challenging curriculum allows for individual growth and instills life-long learning in our children. Children engage in listening, speaking, reading, and writing daily. Teachers use a balanced approach that uses whole language and phonics instruction in both English and Arabic. Equal emphasis is placed on the joy of reading. Teachers read stories daily and children are provided with the opportunity to discuss the stories and acquire new vocabulary. All children are viewed as capable writers as they journal and write stories. Dictation and transitional spelling help our youngest children express their ideas in writing right from the start. Amman National Primary School includes grades 1-6. We follow the constructivist approach to teaching and learning it is child-centered, emphasizes active learning, and focuses on the child as a whole. The school aims to balance teaching basic skills with creativity and real-life application of the skills learned. ANS has adopted the guidelines of the Jordanian Ministry of Education in a way that best fits the needs of the students. Instruction is mainly in Arabic, as we believe children think and learn best through their own experiences using their native language. A rigorous English program is taught daily. Science in English is introduced in grade 5 to boost the students’ scientific terminology. Our nurturing program and flexible teaching techniques allow our students to build confidence and self-discipline as they develop morals and values. We believe in an emphasis on creative ability, self-expression, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and project-based learning. Community is an important aspect of our school. We have active room parents, and families are encouraged to often volunteer in the classroom. Middle school represents a significant turning point in students’ life. It is a time of transition from childhood to adolescence – a period filled with mental, moral, social, emotional, and physical changes. It is when the students seek to acquire distinct identities, a personal set of values and assert their independence. Because of the nature of this critical period in the students’ life, utmost support and encouragement are offered through providing a warm and friendly atmosphere within an environment characterized by flexibility and trust. To develop and maximize student performance, teachers aim at achieving learning outcomes that go beyond basic knowledge to encompass the development of analytical, critical, and practical thinking and to integrate different fields of knowledge. Teachers also aim at helping students to understand themselves and to forge personal sets of values, interests maintaining, at all times, respect for and understanding of others. At ANS we believe that a high school is a place where students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for their future field of study and career of choice. We strive to offer our students a smooth transition from middle school. We are committed to the personal and academic growth of each student and strives to provide an education that enables and empowers its students to develop their intellectual, emotional, and physical abilities, to understand and respect the similarities and differences among themselves and others, and to develop a sense of belonging to the larger community. Students participate in creative projects and service-learning activities as well as attend various national and international conferences and seminars to help them become involved citizens locally and globally.
  10. Located in West Amman, Amman Academy (AA) is a private co-educational, bilingual (English and Arabic) day school enrolling around 1,750 students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. The school was established in 1991 and has been an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School since 2006 when we became authorized to teach the IB Diploma Programme (DP). AA is one of the few schools in Jordan authorized to offer the DP, Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the Primary Years Programme (PYP) under one roof. We are ideally situated in Khalda and easily accessible from all directions. The built area covers 15,000 square meters and is constructed on 23,000 square meters of land. The buildings were purposefully designed to be attractive and functional and are centrally heated. Our furniture, equipment, and lighting were chosen with caretaking into consideration all educational and health factors. The school building is comprised of the west wing, north wing, south wing, KG, the gym, the swimming pool, and a car parking area with a capacity of 150 cars. The school’s green fields, courtyards, and parking lots cover an area that exceeds 20,000 square meters. Amman Academy has gone green by installing a 412 kWp solar system on the various roofs around the school. To add to the many advantages of using solar energy to generate electricity, we have also set up a photovoltaic (PV) lab to educate our students about the importance of renewable energy. Amman Academy (AA) is a bilingual, Arabic and English, IB World School and a center of academic excellence and creativity. The core strategic objective is to prepare our students to join the finest universities in the world. AA students are proud of their national heritage and its contributions whilst appreciating and respecting other cultures. We aim to prepare future leaders who are self-disciplined, tolerant, principled, and life-long learners capable of making a positive impact on the world around them. We trust that these critical areas of consideration will help you to select the best school for your children and to determine how Amman Academy meets your expectations. The school’s academic results over several years. The school’s mission and philosophy and their compatibility with your child’s personality and family expectations. Administration and management’s reputation and achievements to ensure that your children are in good hands capable of caring for and educating them. The emphasis on Arabic language instruction, as proficiency in Arabic, will be a great advantage in your children’s lives and future careers. The emphasis on English language instruction and students’ English proficiencies since English is your child’s gateway to the world through technology, communication, and business. The level of investment the school provides in technology and its integration into education. The effectiveness of the offered academic programs in developing life-long learners. The emphasis on building students' character to ensure that they are ready for a complex and competitive life ahead. Amman Academy is authorized by the International Baccalaureate to implement the Primary Years Programme (PYP). The program is up to Grade 5 in two languages (Arabic and English). The PYP prepares students to become active, caring, lifelong learners who demonstrate respect for themselves and others and have the capacity to participate actively in the world around them. It focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer within the classroom and beyond. Our Kindergarten program at AA provides a safe and nurturing learning environment for our children. We are dedicated to the development of every child’s physical, social, intellectual, and cultural growth. We believe that student learning is best done when it is authentic and relevant to the real world. Within a stimulating, developmentally appropriate environment, we foster creativity and encourage children to become problem solvers. Children work together and make connections between what takes place in the classroom and their own lives. Through theme-based learning, our children are provided with activities to explore, experiment, and discover. Children are given opportunities to view the world from different perspectives and to adapt to change. To achieve the aim, Amman Academy works in parallel with the IB Learner Profile. This entails the attributes that PYP students need to have to interact effectively within their society. We want learners to acquire and apply a set of transdisciplinary skills that are valuable not only within the classroom environment but in life outside the academic arena as well. Amman Academy has been an authorized MYP school since 2013. Therefore, we are currently implementing the Middle Years Programme (MYP) in grades 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. Amman Academy works in parallel with the IB Learner Profile, which entails the attributes that MYP students need to have to interact effectively within their society. Our aim is for learners to acquire and apply a set of skills that are valuable within the classroom environment and in real-life situations outside the academic arena as well. Amman Academy has been an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School since 2006 when we were authorized to begin teaching the IB Diploma Programme. Founded in 1968, the International Baccalaureate Organization is a non-profit educational foundation that centers on developing programs that help students thrive in the classroom and connect their knowledge to the world around them.
  11. A very warm welcome to the International Community School in Amman, Jordan (ICS). Our unique brand of personalized learning ensures that the entire learning experience is tailored to the strengths and needs of each student. Inclusivity is enshrined in all that we do, and we are proud to be able to meet the needs of a wide spectrum of abilities and need, from the very most able Oxbridge or Ivy League aspirant to students with mild to moderate learning or physical needs or difficulties, and everyone in between. An independent, private and non-profit school, owned by the Society for the International Community in Jordan (SICJ), and founded in 1953 as a primary school to serve the children of the British Military based in Amman, the International Community School today is proud to be one of the longest-established international schools in Jordan and the Middle East. Home to over 700 students, representing over 50 different nationalities, ICS is a truly international, co-educational day school, which offers high-quality education to students aged 3-18. Following the National Curriculum of England and Wales, modified to our local and international context, all teaching is conducted in English by native English-speaking, UK-Qualified teachers. All students study a broad and balanced curriculum, drawing on the very best of British, Jordanian, and international education. Our senior students study for the IGCSE and also for the A-Level, the gold standard of pre-university qualifications worldwide, but many students also take the SAT and commonly apply for undergraduate schools in the USA and Canada. Fully accredited by COBIS (the Council of British International Schools) and rated 'Good with Outstanding Features' by BSO (British Schools Overseas), ICS is also a member of CIS, ECIS, and BSME. The school is located on a purpose-built, semi-rural campus in Na’our area, approximately fifteen minutes from most embassies. Whilst our current facility is of a high standard, with specialist facilities in sport, ICT, Science, and the Arts, we have recently undergone a major expansion project, which will see a brand new, state-of-the-art Swimming Pool, Sports Hall, Theatre and Early Childhood Centre opening over the next couple of years. The school is also renowned for the quality of its enrichment program, and also for its focus on Community Service and Global Citizenship. The International Community School provides personalized, high-quality education, drawing on the best of British and international practices. We will continue to nurture and invest in an inclusive and diverse learning community of happy, confident, and creative global citizens. Where every child can thrive. We strive to adapt the curriculum to meet the needs, strengths, interests, and backgrounds of our students, and to ensure it is also a vehicle through which to pursue our Guiding Statements. We review our curriculum regularly and also aim to ensure it is articulated, vertically and horizontally, to ensure a contiguous learning journey, and a progression of skills, for every student. In the Early Years Stage, our curriculum is based on the Early Years and Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework from the UK, modified for our local and international context, and drawing on the very best of global practice and pedagogy. We keep a close and caring eye on each child to ensure they fulfill their potential in a supportive and nurturing environment. Early Years subjects are taught through six half-termly topics, the majority of which are taught by the class teacher. English and Mathematics are taught both as discrete entities and as linked units to the half-termly topic work, but there is also a pervasive focus on learning through play and discovery. In Primary school, we continue to exploit the full potential of our #earlyyearsup approach to pedagogy and practice, ensuring that learning remains child-focused. The curriculum broadly follows the 2014 UK National Curriculum for Mathematics, English, and Science, modified and adapted where necessary for our local and international context. Each class in the Primary School also receives specialist teaching in Music, PE, and Languages (either Arabic or French). In Secondary school, students also follow a modified version of the National Curriculum of England and Wales, but we aim, wherever possible, to ensure that it remains engaging and relevant for our international student body and that it is personalized, wherever possible, to the individual needs and strengths of each student. As students move up through the school, their curriculum offer becomes more and more specialized, whilst retaining some of the breadths which is the hallmark of a British curriculum.
  12. Our little school has grown. The high school moved into a new building in 2013 the elementary school renovation was finished in 2014, and modern facilities are available from pre-school to 12th grade. All these changes mean that the school offers its students optimal conditions for teaching and learning. Apart from the buildings, we also offer a French, English, and Arabic multilingual project that focuses on the progressive learning of several languages and their cultures from the last year of pre-school. This ambitious project created meticulously in 2013 and launched at the start of the 2014 academic year is now proving successful at the start of the 2015 year. Knowledge of foreign languages opens doors around the world, allows us to understand others and their differences, and adapt to diversity. It is also a valuable asset for studies and future careers. The future of the young people in our care is what drives our projects and our actions. A future based on universal human values, a future of solidarity, an environmentally conscious future, a future to be reinvented through innovation and commitment, because this is the 21st century. This is our children’s century. Albert Camus said, "Real generosity towards the future consists of giving everything to the present." So we give, we give everything, we give our young people the tools to develop their analytical thinking, a critical mind, a sense of initiative, inventiveness, and citizenship. Prepared in this way, our students ultimately stand out as budding ambassadors. They stand out at the meeting of High School Student Council delegates of all the French high schools worldwide, at the award of Major Excellency Scholarships, and finally when the results of the baccalaureate reveal a 100% pass rate, 86% of which are distinctions. With a French baccalaureate under their belts, which serves as an international passport and is recognized throughout the world, our students are all accepted into the country and course of their choice – in France, of course, but also in England, Germany, Belgium, the United States, Canada, and Lebanon, among others. We are pleased to welcome young people from twenty different nationalities who will remain in contact through the alumni association network of French schools worldwide. We are proud of our joint achievements and confident about the future we plan together. The LFA is a rapidly changing school and is putting all of its energy into updating the school development plan and projects. The French School of Amman, progression, and transformation, A slow but regular transformation. A small elementary school was built in 1972 near Akleh Hospital and later near Addastour in the Djebel Amman district. It operated under the CNED and obtained accreditation 10 years later in 1982. The accreditation continued from 1997 to 2001, with each grade (42 students in 2002) created gradually, then 2007 to 2009 for the recent secondary school (25 students in 2005). It moved to its current premises in Their Ghobar with 150 students on January 7, 1990, the year that the Jordanian Ministry of Education recognized the school. The inauguration took place on June 13, 1990. At the start of 1996, the French government bought the land and the school buildings and undertook renovation works during that same summer. In 1996-1997, the Franco-Jordanian cooperation agreement mentioned the school. The French School of Amman is an international, accredited, and officially appointed institution. The education provided conforms to the programs, educational objectives, and organizational rules in France for public education institutions, as defined by the French Ministry of National Education and followed in all schools in the network of schools offering the French program worldwide. The school prepares for the same exams and certifications as the public schools: the Baccalaureate and the Diplôme National du Brevet (the national diploma awarded in 9th grade). Students of over 20 nationalities are represented from pre-school to 12th grade they enrich and are the pride of French institutions overseas. A melting pot of nationalities, the school welcomes the children of diplomats, embassy staff, researchers, executives of companies, and international organizations who are all faithful to the French educational system. 17. 21. We are honored that 26% of Jordanian families have selected our school. French School of Amman High School +962 6 4300600 secretaire@efa.edu.jo View full school

View full school

View full school
