About Me

  1. Prince Sultan University aspires to become the leading non-profit, private University in the Middle East, providing a quality education equal to other reputable universities globally. Prince Sultan University aims to provide the Middle East with a quality education to the highest international standards. In its efforts towards successful and responsible life-long learning, PSU integrates modern technology, pedagogy, and human values to advance scientific research, productivity, and leadership towards a more meaningful social life. PSU is committed to the effective management of institutional resources to optimize its multiple roles as catalysts for new learning opportunities, national and international partnerships, ongoing studies, professional growth, community service, and diversity in educational horizons for humanity's good. Prince Sultan University was inaugurated in 1999 by the late Crown Prince HRH Sultan bin Abdulaziz, who was then Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation, and Inspector General. It was established earlier by the Al-Riyadh Philanthropic Society for Science (RPSS) under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, when he was the Governor of Riyadh Region and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the RPSS. Thus, King Salman was instrumental in establishing PSU and has remained its enthusiastic patron ever since. The idea behind PSU's establishment originated with the Riyadh business community. It was dedicated to HRH Sultan bin Abdulaziz to celebrate his homecoming after successful medical treatment abroad. HRH congratulated the community on its initiative and pledged his continuous support to the institution. This support was exemplified by a generous donation and HRH's inclusion of PSU in his subsequent agreement with the University of Oxford. PSU was initially founded as a private college (1999) but was raised to University status by the Ministry of Higher Education (2003). As a non-profit-making institution, it was the first private University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As such, it introduced private higher education in the Kingdom when it was most needed. It received its first enrollment at the start of 1999/2000 (1420/1421 AH). This consisted of 152 students, taught by 16 faculty members. Now the University has over 4000 students and over 400 diversified faculty members (2015/2016). It consists of 5 colleges: Business, Computer and Information Science, Engineering, Law, and Humanities. PSU is the first private University to have been granted institutional accreditation. Prince Sultan University aims to provide the Middle East with a quality education to the highest international standards. In its efforts towards successful and responsible life-long learning, PSU integrates modern technology, pedagogy, and human values to advance scientific research, productivity, and leadership towards a more meaningful social life. PSU is committed to proper management of institutional resources to optimize its multiple roles as a catalyst for new learning opportunities, national and international partnerships, ongoing studies, professional growth, community service, and diversity in educational horizons for the good of humanity. 4. As a fast-growing institution of higher learning, Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University (PMU) has created history since it was launched. This University welcomed the latest technology since its inception. It implemented them in the teaching methodology and curriculum development. Some technological advancements are all-time internet connectivity, making e-library access easier, online courseware (Blackboard), Dined – labs, and online registration. The structure of PMU academic programs follows the North American model that utilizes the credit hour system as a measure of course weight, an intensive bridge program to prepare to enter students for university study, a standard academic core curriculum that forms an everyday basis for all degree programs, and individual degree majors that provide the academic specialization and the name of the degree awarded. English is the language of instruction in all degree programs and courses except those devoted to studying the Arabic Language and Islamic Studies. Consistent with the commitment to developing student learning outcomes and competencies, PMU emphasizes "student-oriented" teaching and learning methodologies throughout all academic programs. Courses utilize independent learning tasks, group and team-based projects, and capstone projects, among other techniques. Information technology-based resources and methods are an essential part of the learning process. PMU is characterized by a learner-centered rather than a teacher-centered approach to education. The overall student to faculty ratio is about 18/1. Class sizes vary with programs and courses. Today PMU is equipped with advanced technologies such as smart boards, TV Streaming, and Video Conferencing, etc., which are beneficial for students to get registered in specific courses and avail regular advice or guidance from the respective instructors online by sitting in the privacy of homes. Students avail state of the art facilities at PMU. Such facilities are solely meant to guide them to groom and stand up while accepting the global challenges they would have to count as professionals. They would have better employment avenues after graduating from PMU, which offers exclusive facilities. As English has become the only medium of communication internationally, PMU offers this language as a primary instruction medium. Several clubs and extracurricular activities inside the PMU campus are the best tools to hone its students' competency. The self-confidence developed by training and advanced knowledge prepares students to sell themselves with well-crafted and impressive resumes. Various innovative learning outcome assessments assess the skill development tools that track students' performance and overall progress during their stay at the University. The e-portfolio of graduating students at PMU is accessible online; hence, future employers can use them for hire. Such steps offer both earning of degree and at the same juncture attaining work experience at par. PMU offers many personal services, including financial aid to deserving students besides health and counseling services. These initiatives are to offer the best possible comfort in an atmosphere for personal and professional growth. PMU equally expects to impart excellence in education to the students enrolled while providing such services to them. The credibility of PMU, which it attained since inception, became possible due to a healthy workforce – administrative team, diverse faculty strength involved in designing an advanced academic scene, and the supporting staff who assist the authorities in assisting the university administration in its systematic move. TIEC (Texas International Education Consortium), as Educational Consultant of PMU, involved topmost experts from 32 American universities for PMU academic structuring. Of course, PMU is now able to promise and impart excellent education to nourish the future leaders in their areas of study. It is the sign of a globalized point of view on education that PMU adopts. HRH Prince Mohammad bin Fahd bin Abdul-Aziz much believes that the modern workplace's challenges could be met only through high-quality education. To make this dream come true, HRH took the initiative in 2002 to help establish a University in the Eastern Province with unique characteristics and distinctive mission/vision statements. This initiative was the starting point for the PMU project. The first step in setting up the University was the feasibility study. The decision was made to award the project to "The Consulting Center for Finance and Investment - CCFI", who finalized the study in June 2003. Based on the findings, the decision was made as to which PMU will offer academic programs. The feasibility study also offered recommendations concerning needed capital investments and operational costs. Top national and international engineering offices competed for the Architectural Design project of PMU. The decision was to award the project to Zuhair Fayez Partnership (ZFP), who has an excellent track record in designing educational institutions. However, to guarantee international standards, the space program for the educational facilities was done in collaboration with International Universities. The design phase was completed in Feb. 2005 and reviewed by Al-Hejailan Consultants Engineering Office (AHC). The university campus has been designed with care to provide facilities for a full range of academic and student services that recognizes and maintains the Kingdom's culture and religious values. In translating the PMU vision and mission into a physical reality, the University's architects have successfully created a university with a distinct and outstanding architectural image. The university design includes buildings that are shaped and located to create pleasant and inviting spaces. Plazas and covered walkways facilitate student movement throughout the University. The entire concept is built on the desire to facilitate, encourage, and celebrate the University's interactive learning environment. The campus is symmetrically divided to provide facilities for male and female students. The male campus houses academic facilities for male instruction in the College of Engineering, the College of Business Administration, the College of Computer Engineering and Science, and the College of Arts and Sciences. It also houses facilities for male instruction in the Preparatory and PMU Core Curriculum. View full university

  6. Prince Alfred College is one of Australia's leading private boys' colleges and is located on spacious grounds near Adelaide, South Australia. Established by the Methodist Church in 1869, Prince Alfred College is affiliated with the Uniting Church in Australia and the International Baccalaureate Organisation. We educate over one thousand boys in our Early Learning Centre, Preparatory School, Middle School, and Senior School, aged between 2 and 18 every year, including boarding and international students. We view students as individuals and take them on an educational journey. Our goal is to discover, nurture, and develop each boy's unique qualities to help him grow into an enterprising, confident, and resilient man. We are an accredited International Baccalaureate (IB) World School offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Australian Curriculum in Years 7-10, and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) as well as the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and an engaging Vocational Education Training (VET) Programme. Encapsulating a strong academic, Christian, sporting, performing arts, music, outdoor education, and exclusive programs such as our Wambana experience, educate, and ebook. Prince Alfred College supports an education that is outside the normal boundaries of Schools in Australia. We succeed when boys discover their talent and use it for the good of others. We teach our students to question what lies ahead of them and to think creatively. Our core curriculum is a unique combination of traditional values and progressive thinking. Welcome to the Prince Alfred College website. Whether you have a long association with Prince Alfred College or your first contact with our school, we offer you a warm welcome. Prince Alfred College is one of Australia's best-known boys' schools with a history going back to 1867, when Prince Alfred, the Duke of Edinburgh and the second son of Queen Victoria, laid the foundation stone consented to his name being used for this new school. Founded by the Methodist Church and now affiliated with the Uniting Church in Australia, PAC has a tradition of welcoming people of all faiths and backgrounds to receive a broad, high quality, liberal education. As a leading boys' school for almost 150 years, we have a tradition of innovation in best meeting boys' needs. At the heart of what we aim to achieve is the concept of the 'Princes Man.' Focused on achieving excellence in all that he does, the Prince's Man is also a kind and compassionate individual who takes pride in contributing to his community. We offer a diverse and challenging curriculum, with a dual academic pathway at senior levels. Our sporting and cultural programs are the highest standard and are supported by a team of well-qualified and committed staff. While there are many commonalities in the way girls and boys develop, learn, and think, there are also some key differences. Many schools ignore this crucial understanding and teach boys and girls as if they were a uniform group. Research shows that boys and girls not only have distinctive bodies – they have distinctive brains. This means that their development is different in almost every way – socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally. Boys mature later than girls. They learn at their own pace. They are bursting with energy, funny, creative, and risk-taking as well as disorganized! Boys learn by doing. They need to be heard. Peers and adult mentors strongly influence them. Boys can struggle with literacy. Their learning drops off if classroom discipline is not maintained. Yet they respond to the right incentives, and teachers have a substantial impact. With 150 years of experience in teaching boys, we understand what makes them tick. We set high expectations – and the boys respond with high achievement. We value every boy's individuality – and they learn to value each other. We see their leadership potential – and they rise to become leaders. We keep boys active with classes, sports, and the arts. We nurture their minds, challenge their bodies, and motivate their spirits. We watch them grow with pride. We are committed to helping all our boys develop into men who have confidence, integrity, and compassion. We see their morals and values as being as important as their grades. The boys at PAC learn to be independent yet interconnected. Their pursuits are encouraged alongside a dedication to community service. We support their striving for excellence as we nourish their understanding of broader social responsibilities. We believe our College offers excellent opportunities for developing a sense of modern masculinity in boys – manhood that includes ethics and achievement and an ethos that values women. Prince Alfred College is proud to help the next generation of boys go beyond their dreams to achieve their full potential. View full school
  7. Prince of Songkla University (PSU), a public university established in 1967 as the first university in southern Thailand, consists of five campuses offering various programs of education consistent with their communities' needs. Moreover, PSU comprises 39 faculties, colleges and institutes, four hospitals, and more than 40 excellence and research centers; all committed to academic excellence, strong social responsibility, and active community service engagement. The central aims of the university are to raise general education standards and support regional industry and development. Moreover, the university aims to establish excellence in research and teaching, provide academic services to communities, and take an active role in preserving national heritage in arts and culture, especially for those from southern Thailand. Therefore, as a leading research university in Asia, PSU has contributed significantly to the country's development and consistently turned out well-qualified graduates of high professional standing. Prince of Songkla University (PSU) was established under the Southern Development Plan policy to become the leading university in the southern region of Thailand to deliver graduate students, academic research, and academic services while appreciating and maintaining arts and culture. The university's management aims to develop and deliver graduate students that empower the country and hold on to Thailand's educational guidelines, focusing on graduates equipped for the real world. PSU's educational philosophy is based on Progressivism, to develop students in all aspects and prepare them to thrive in their respective societies. This includes assisting them in adapting to unpredictable circumstances using learning process methods and treating students as the center of attention. Various learner needs, such as problem-solving, self-researching processes, and taking action inside and outside the classroom, are considered fundamental to PSU's "sustainable learning" approach. This led to the formulation of the idea that "change brings improvement" – a type of Learning where students can apply these methods both at the university and in real-life environments. PSU aims to provide its students with a lifelong learning approach. The rationale mentioned above forms the basis of outcome-based education, developing curricula, and the various learning processes. Active Learning means learning from a variety of activities and actions. Problem-based Learning describes Learning based on problem-solving, e.g., through case studies. Project-based Learning refers to Learning based on projects such as assignments and assessments. Service Learning means learning by serving the community. Prince of Songkla University aims to apply these principles successfully, as guided by the motto of the "Prince of Songkla," His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol Adulyadej: "Our Soul is for the Benefit of Mankind." Prince of Songkla University is an educational institution focusing on innovation and society with academic excellence, aiming to become one of ASEAN's top five universities in 2027. 8. The school was designed, built, and equipped to bring the very best of the British education system, into an authentic Malaysian context. We pride ourselves on a unique atmosphere created with our large on-site community of boarders and staff – deliberately modeled on an established and traditional UK pattern of boarding. We teach the UK curriculum leading to IGCSE and A-level qualifications. Our students move on to top universities, across the globe – with the majority heading for the UK. They have a range of abilities, but our outcomes are exceptional these can only be achieved by high expectations of all, and teaching practices that are adapted to individual needs. The school’s location provides easy access to Penang International Airport, and quick connections to Singapore and all South East Asia destinations, as well of course to all parts of the globe. We enjoy ready access to the World Heritage Site of Georgetown, as well as the many smaller communities on the Island. But the campus itself enjoys a unique rural location, in the new and developing Botanica CT township. Its position ensures a safe and healthy environment, which adds to the special community atmosphere and stimulates a wide range of on-site and local activities. Boarding at the school is very popular, both full time and weekly depending on family circumstances. We have outstanding modern residential facilities, fully managed with academic and domestic staff members always available. The Principal makes new boarders promise to sound miserable when they ring home for the first time some parents are disappointed they are not missed as much as they would hope! That is the success of our boarding. We are fully co-educational from year 7 to 13. Admissions can be at any time by arrangement, and we will always give sound advice to applicants. If we think a young person will not thrive here, we will say so. But for the vast majority of young people, POWIIS offers a wonderful opportunity for personal growth and fulfillment. We work hard at caring for and nurturing, every individual with a pastoral care system second to none. Our academic results are outstanding, but we know success in life is not guaranteed by qualifications alone. We have a vibrant cultural diversity, but we study and communicate in English. Our students work hard at their language development, at the same time developing personal qualities, oratory and performance skills, and social sophistication.

We believe it is important that children gain leadership skills and we nurture this in several ways, for example by enabling them to be team captains, take part in the School Parliament, or be elected as a Prefect, Head Girl, or Head Boy. The school has a long history of successful art projects, working with artists and talented parents as well as our dedicated and creative staff. Subject Leaders are continually looking at improving pupils’ outcomes and raising standards in their area of responsibility. They learn from best practices in other schools to benefit teaching and learning across the age groups. Families support us well and all parents are expected to take an active part in their children’s development and education. We have exciting opportunities to promote lifelong learning skills for pupils and parents through study support activities and extended school facilities. We hold regular workshops to enable our parents to support their children in maths and English skills. The is also a range of adult learning that takes place in our Community Room. In the Children’s Centre, Health Visitors facilitate baby well-being, postnatal and antenatal sessions, parenting workshops, employability support, and a school readiness program. There are also opportunities from outreach services to support more vulnerable families with parenting and accessing further help.

Various learner needs, such as problem-solving, self-researching processes, and taking action inside and outside the classroom, are considered fundamental to PSU's "sustainable learning" approach. 16.
