- Knewton Global Schools is about more than following your chosen curriculum and passing exams. It’s the support of the teachers, students, and families, the opportunities outside the classroom, and the buzzing environment, which all bring energy and ambition to our continuous learning culture. Knewton offers a unique blend of tradition and modernity that you feel the moment you arrive. It has everything you’d expect at an international school and private school campus. New strengths can be discovered on the sports pitches, courts, or in the swimming pool. At break times students make use of the canteen and take a rest under the shelter of the wooden cabanas / little pondoks. Knewton Global Schools benefits by being part of the Bonanza Educare group of schools and learning spaces across Malaysia. The group was founded by an experienced team of educationalists and commercial operators, who developed the largest international and private schools’ group in Malaysia, Tenby Schools. The team sold Tenby Educare in 2016 but has always remained the landowners of the Miri campus and welcomed the school back into the group in August 2019. We Always Knew! In 2011, it became Tenby Schools Miri, developing both a British international and Malaysian national curriculum. In 2020, it was rebranded to Knewton Global Schools. Knewton is a made-up word that references: Kn-Knowledge New-latest Ton-mass It’s a blended word that has been selected to sound strong and yet human. Remember in English, when you see a word that starts with ‘kn’ you only pronounce the ‘n’ (sounds the same as newton – our very own unit of knowledge). - We strive to create a better future by producing private school graduates who are equipped to fight ignorance through knowledge, core values, and strong personality development. At Albayan, we believe that a private school has a greater responsibility than just imparting knowledge. We are an educational and social institution that promotes stronger communities in Lebanon and globally. We use knowledge as a tool to help kids acquire real-world skills that will help them both in the workplace and everyday life. From helping young children to develop a love for education to helping teens qualify for university education at their school of choice, Albayan Schools is determined to produce an annual crop of productive and successful adults. Watch your children grow and thrive as we challenge and inspire them daily throughout their formative years. Our goal at Albayan Schools is to unlock each child’s potential for greatness and personal growth. We make it our aim to prepare students to both thrive and lead in a global society. To do so, we help children to develop and nurture: Academic excellence. Community responsibility. Confidence. Creativity. Leadership. Passion for learning. Teamwork. At Albayan Schools, we do more than simply impart knowledge. At the core of our education curriculum at the following values which we are sure you will agree are vital for any student to learn. Appreciation. Cooperation. Courage. Determination. Friendship. Honesty. Kindness. Respect. Responsibility. Tolerance. Private educational institutions differ from public schools in that we can integrate our core beliefs into the curriculum and activities we offer to students. Teachers must also be learners – Teachers join workshop programs at different levels to receive up-to-date curriculum requirements and to learn the latest education methods. Students learn best in a fair and equal environment – The efforts, voice, and background of all students who attend Albayan Schools are valued and respected, thereby maximizing education potential. Every student is unique. We strive to assist each student as an individual with his or her needs and skills in mind. From a kindergarten and elementary school to a college preparatory school that helps children develop from the age of 3 through high school graduation – see how Albayan has become the hub of education in Beirut that it is today. Here is a brief timeline of the development of Albayan Schools: 1994 – Founded with kindergarten and elementary school classrooms. 1995 – Intermediate classes begin. Our original building is expanded from 3 to 5 floors to accommodate more students. 2006 – A second building is acquired as a branch under the name Albayan High School. A high academic standard is one of the hallmarks of Albayan Schools. This makes our graduates a welcome commodity at private universities in Lebanon and across the globe. We also believe that difficult economic times should not result in fewer educational opportunities for children, so we strive to remain an affordable private school where children of the elite and those of more modest means can learn and develop together. The first years of preparatory school will influence how your child feels about education for life. As a result, we strive to create a happy, safe, and fun environment for 3 to 5-year-old students. Our approach supports the natural curiosity of children and stimulates their creativity. We also take a personalized approach to education. By keeping classrooms small (approximately 25 students), your child is provided with the benefits of one-on-one education and support. This is just one of the many reasons why a private school gives your child a head start in the future. Additionally, to create the best learning opportunities and experiences, we offer regular class tips that support the unique teaching techniques that are a vital part of our curriculum. Your child’s formative years require experiences that encourage a love of learning. That calls for the safe and loving environment offered at Albayan Schools. Of course, academics are also of the utmost importance during this time, and we deliver by using a unique and successful approach. The elementary school phase includes grades 1-6 and is divided into two cycles. The first cycle is for children ages 6 through 8, and the second cycle is for children ages 9 through 11. This allows us to meet specific goals with students based on their age and ability. Albayan elementary school students are exposed to a rich curriculum that includes field trips to broaden student knowledge as well as an end-of-the-year school play to expose them to the arts. Students in both cycles are taught science, math, and other basics such as Arabic, English, and French (parents choose between English and French as a major language in preschool, and the other is taught as a secondary, so all students receive instruction in three languages total). Students who take French as a major will be prepared to take The Delf Exam at the French embassy during their second cycle. This is an important time in the life of young students. Standardized tests that are required during these years may make a difference in which universities a student will be accepted to later. As a result, Albayan Schools takes these official exams very seriously, and we do our part to provide students with what they need for success. Albayan Schools’ intermediate education program includes grades 7 through 9 and students aged 13 through 15. In the second semester of grade 8, students are taught some grade 9 curriculum to begin preparation for the Brevet exam. The Brevet exam is completed at the end of grade 9, and the student receives a Brevet certificate at this time. Secondary education includes a three years education for students of ages 16-17-18. It’s composed of general education: humanities, economics, life sciences, and general sciences. When students complete three years of education, they take official Lebanese Baccalaureate exams Students who finish examinations successfully obtain the Lebanese Baccalaureate Certificate of Secondary Education. Moreover, students in the second stage are to undergo the SAT to get enrolled at the university. Our students are guaranteed to score high grades as they are fully adapted to the techniques they should be using during this test. Albayan schools work with various prestigious universities in Lebanon to conduct orientations in the school, as well as introducing all majors available in Lebanon this will help students meet with the university up-close and are then able to choose the major they would like to study. Students at Albayan also take part in the annual LAU Model United Nations. Albayan Schools are an official registration center for the IELTS exam. His youngest daughter, Mrs. Naimeh Barakat, along with her husband, the late Mr. Jamil Barakat headed towards Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and established two model schools. Later on, Mrs. Barakat with her sons and grandsons added another precious stone to the necklace by establishing a model school in Amman- Jordan in the year 1989 to become one exemplary edifice in education. - Hornsey School for Girls is a dynamic and exciting learning environment and learning is the norm. We are a unique school in Haringey, and therefore uniquely placed to ensure that your daughter achieves her potential. Our students are bright, articulate, and intellectually curious about the world we live in. They are committed to social justice and their interest in society is supported by a broad curriculum that allows them avenues to flourish, explore their passions, and experience the diversity of the world around them. We promote a creative approach, and we have excellent facilities for dance, drama, music, and the discipline these subjects bring to your child. Our values are rooted firmly in the community and we encourage links with local groups, businesses, and events. If you’ve seen our students perform across the borough, you will know that excellence is an expectation and this is clear in everything we do – be it the steel pans or academic endeavors. Our student exam results remain consistently above national averages and we continue to develop confident students who go on to our excellent sixth form, and beyond, with the security that only a strong education can provide. Our last Ofsted was in March 2017, with the school rated as Good in all aspects. Hornsey Sixth Form College is a center of excellence and supports all students in their chosen academic and life goals. We recognize that the world is changing and strive to give our students the EDGE. We equip everyone with the skills and knowledge to empower them to pursue their life choices. Our mission goes beyond preparing students to apply for university and ensures they are given the skills to graduate and excel in their chosen field. Our high standards, our broad and balanced academic curriculum, and our extensive learning opportunities inspire every young woman to raise her expectations and to be ambitious in exceeding her potential. The careers program at Hornsey School for Girls is committed to delivering high-quality Careers Education, Information, Advice, and Guidance (CEIAG) by ensuring students make effective and informed decisions about their future through greater self-awareness, career exploration, supported & independent career management, work-related learning & work experience and the development of employability skills. We foster a passion for learning from the moment students start school to the moment they leave. Our curriculum enables every student to acquire the knowledge, skills, and personal qualities needed to open doors to life-long opportunities and to progress to both University and work beyond. Younger students follow a core curriculum of English, Maths, Science, Humanities subjects (taught as discrete subjects), Languages, Design Technology, Sport and P.E, and Arts, including Performing Arts (taught discretely). Our intensive Accelerated Reading and Literacy Programme ensures that all girls, no matter what their ability, develop a love of literature from the beginning of their academic journey at Hornsey. All students study core and foundation subjects at GCSE, each student being guided onto an appropriate curriculum pathway which enables her to receive the individual support and challenge to be successful. We have high expectations of our students and ensure intellectual and academic rigor at every level, including an A level program for students of high aptitude in years 10 and 11 in readiness for completion in our high achieving Sixth Form. In single-sex schools, girls don’t just enjoy equal opportunities, they enjoy ALL opportunities, whether it be in the arts, sport, science, expeditions, career insights, or other extra-curricular activities. We believe there should be no limitations on your daughter’s ambitions, professional and personal. Girls acquire higher self-esteem and greater self-confidence at a girls’ school. Helping girls feel good about themselves and encouraging them to have faith in their capacity to face challenges is hugely important. With only their fellow girls in the classroom or on the sports field, girls in single-sex schools have the space in which their intellectual and physical confidence can blossom. There is tremendous freedom to be – and become – themselves and to fully explore all the education opportunities available to them. Girls’ schools also create opportunities for appropriate educational risk-taking. Girls from girls’ schools achieve higher grades at both GCSE and A-level compared to girls in co-educational (mixed) schools. Single-sex schools for girls dominate the top of the exam results league tables. Research shows that in co-ed schools boys receive more attention from teachers to the detriment of girls. Girls and boys mature at different rates. So, when it comes to learning, it makes sense to give each what they need for them to flourish. Your daughter can benefit from being in a school that recognizes these differences and provide an education geared specifically to her needs and developmental stage. Every school claims to have excellent pastoral care. What’s different about girls’ schools is that we do understand girls. We understand their friendship dynamics, their preoccupations, and occasional silliness, and that some can be timid and overly concerned with being correct. This understanding means we can give the right kind of support and create safe environments in which girls feel comfortable taking risks and asking questions. As a result, they become more resilient and sure of themselves. View full school
- We are very proud of the girl's consistently high attainment in the new National Qualifications and the staff who prepare them so well for the formal assessments. Over and above the fantastic academic achievements of our girls, they continue to excel in sport locally and nationally enjoying success in a variety of sports including hockey, swimming, and cross country. The musicians at Craigholme have also entertained us at numerous musical events. The judges and audience were impressed by the standard of our girls performing in the Musician of the Year competition. Our girls undertook a huge amount of charity work this year to raise money for the Teddy Bear Foundation, raising a fantastic total of £4940. Craigholme is situated in the heart of Pollokshields, a Victorian suburb in the south side of Glasgow, and operates from two closely linked sites on St Andrew's Drive. Craigholme Sports Complex is a great place for sport, with its comprehensive collection of sports facilities open to everyone – the local community, pupils, staff, visitors, and local sports clubs. Local groups can hire our facilities in the evenings and at weekends and we encourage local sporting clubs to work in conjunction with us. Our facilities can be let on a weekly, monthly or ad hoc basis. Facilities include: Dance/Fitness Studio Multi-purpose Sports Hall (e.g. for hockey, badminton, netball, volleyball, tennis, aerobics, etc) Climbing Wall Spectators' Gallery AstroTurf Pitch Blade Pitch Games Field For parents considering investing in independent education, it is a major financial decision. However, this is counterbalanced by the knowledge that their daughter is being given the best possible start in life. Our fees are competitively priced and provide excellent value for money especially in terms of our small teacher-pupil ratio. At Craigholme we are pleased to offer several means-tested bursaries for pupils of all ages. Bursary awards are open to existing pupils and new applicants and are determined by the availability of bursary funds at the time. View full school
- We are an expanding school of approximately 640 pupils and provide education for children from the age of three to eleven. The school opened in 1969 and recently celebrated its 40th Anniversary. It is a successful and inclusive school. At the heart of our school life and curriculum is our Mission Statement. It colors all our aims and is reflected in the day-to-day running of our school. The Federation of St Elphege's Catholic Schools will give every child the best possible education because each individual is uniquely created and precious to God. As a Catholic community, guided by the Holy Spirit, we will follow the example of Jesus Christ in all aspects of daily life. With the help of God we will: Develop our children's faith, spirituality, and joy in the love of God. Teach our children to the highest standards thus realizing their potential. Give our children the knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed and take pride in their achievements. Create a Christian community where we all behave well, have good manners, and learn tolerance and respect for ourselves and others. Prepare our children today to become tomorrow's responsible and independent individuals. Make school a happy, safe, and caring place where we all enjoy learning, work hard and do our best. Create a partnership of love, joy, and high expectations between children, their parents, the staff and the governors, the parish, and the wider community. The Federation is using Focus Education resources to deliver a Creative Curriculum which will challenge the children and ensure that all learners acquire knowledge, understanding, and skills in all non-core subjects as laid down in the new Nation Curriculum for Primary Schools. It is an approach to curriculum planning which is now being used in over 1,000 primary schools in England. The approach is based on securing greater learner involvement in their work. It requires deep thinking and encourages learners to work using a question as to the starting point. It has been described as a curriculum for ‘intelligent schools’. In designing the curriculum, teachers and learners are using a prime learning challenge, expressed as a question, as the starting point. Using the information gained from pre-learning tasks and the school’s context, a series of subsidiary challenges are then planned. Each subsidiary learning challenge is also expressed as a question. Importantly, the learning challenges need to make sense to the learners and be something that is within their immediate understanding. These learning walls provide reminders of learning and help children to develop an understanding of both the knowledge and skills of the focus subject area and the cross-curricular links made throughout the term. These walls develop and adapt to the children’s needs – never static! They display examples of children’s work as well as providing opportunities for the children to review where they have reached in their quest for more information to answer their questions. The Creative Curriculum aims to: Provide a broad and balanced curriculum. Encourages teachers to make learning vivid, real, and meaningful with many first-hand experiences. Build up children’s confidence and motivation to learn through the use of a range of learning and teaching styles. Embed key skills to prepare children for real-life and everyday situations. Provide opportunities to apply knowledge and learning in practical ways Develop an enjoyment in all their learning. Stimulate our children’s natural curiosity and give them the confidence to be curious. Provide ‘WOW’ moments that engage the children from the start of their learning. Engage children through the use of creative learning challenge questions. Involve children in the decision-making about their learning, allowing children choice and independence. Ensure children know what they are learning and why. Allow time to engage, reflect and review – including peer and self-assessment. Use a wealth of relevant resources – in the classroom, outdoors, in the local community, and the wider area including visits and visitors. Allow children to demonstrate their learning in different ways: posters, presentations, performances, historic and other themed days. Promote personal, social, and spiritual aspects of the curriculum. Encourage teachers to develop each child’s confidence, self-discipline, and understanding of their learning. View full school

If a student feels unwell, they can either rest or can be treated for minor ailments. It should be remembered, however, that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and with this in mind. At NIS, we think of parents as partners who have vital contributions to make to the educational journey of their children. Involved parents talk to their children about school, ask questions, monitor their homework, and stay informed of their child’s progress in all school-related subjects. Parents should always feel free to contact the school administration if they have any queries, concerns, or possible solutions to problems. Likewise, we hope parents will be ready to address, in the context of the home and family, concerns that may be raised by the school about the academic performance or behavior of individual students. We do our best to address problems within the school premises, but, in some cases, more intensive parental involvement may be required to give particular students what they need to succeed. Parents bear responsibility along with their children for any damage to school property stemming from the students' behavior. Faculty Student relationship is of a positive nature, School encourages teachers to develop a close respectful relationship with students through interaction outside the classroom, during extracurricular activities, field trips, etc. This closeness makes the teacher's mission of correcting student’s behavior an easier one. Our approach to discipline is a positive one, which accentuates rewarding good behavior. Students are well aware of our expectations as well as their limitations. In a world of constant change, it is more important than ever to prepare our young people for the challenges and opportunities they will face as 21st-century adults. NLS seeks to develop and inspire students who are articulate, knowledgeable, organized, compassionate, creative, responsible, and able to learn and adapt to new information, new technologies, new situations, and new people. As our world is becoming “smaller,” we seek to bring that world to our students with an informed appreciation of its diversity, depth, and almost limitless possibility. This is our mission, our passion, our labor of love, and our promise. We are eagerly looking forward to working with you to make this a great year for your child’s education and development. - Our educational philosophy is based on children’s natural physiological and psychological development. A significant part of that is the simple performance and practice of everyday life tasks. Such tasks appeal to children’s drive for self-construction and urge to move around it also accommodates their natural interest in their environment. Furniture, teaching materials, and the surrounding architecture support these education processes. Our mission is to bring forth highly effective leaders, who both honor their cultural identity and our understanding of other cultures. They pursue intellectual, physical, and spiritual excellence, through lifelong learning, to lead purposeful lives and to make valuable contributions to their community and the well-being of humanity. At Gheriany International Schools, we aim to provide education of high quality. Our goal is not only to develop the academic skills of the child but also to inculcate strong moral values in a supportive environment. Our team of experienced instructors. Educators and caregivers are well trained to develop the full potential of a child and enhance his/her talent. In our pursuit of excellence and progress in education, we encourage students to develop through a variety of educational styles, theories, and curriculum whether by following our blended Curriculum offered on our self-contained and very attractive campus or by joining any of our school sections. We aim to provide an experience of education, which combines a broad range of cultural, intellectual, and educational approaches, incorporating the unity of basic ethical and developmental values throughout the world. Every child is treated as a genius in his or her capacity at Gheriany International School and maximum opportunities are provided to prepare your child for the future while appreciating his/her individuality and strength. Children are naturally inquisitive and learn best through play and from meaningful, first-hand experiences. We need to help the next generation of children to grow up as creative and flexible thinkers, and to be good decision-makers, able to question, challenge, and make choices. Unless children feel good about themselves and feel they belong within the group they will not learn effectively. Children learn best when they are given appropriate responsibility, allowed to make mistakes, decisions, and choices, and are respected as autonomous learners. A curriculum needs to be challenging, relevant to children, and pertinent to individual needs and interests. It is important to recognize the parents’ key role as the child’s first and most enduring educator. At GIS American School we aim at embarking on a vision that will ensure each student will be ready for their future through a highly relevant, meaningful educational program. This program will be based on flexible teaching & learning approaches to provide our students with deeper learning experiences using innovation & technology to become 21st-century learners. We truly believe that our students will thrive and flourish in our stimulating and safe environments of learning, where they will grow into becoming independent & creative thinkers shortly.
