Educational activities at Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University are carried out according to the license of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine AE № 458 259. University announces entrance for getting higher education with a Bachelor's degree, Master's and educational levels of junior specialist, and specialist. Specialization and forms of education agree to the license and the licensed number of entrants. The same concerns the theCollegeofTechnology, Business and Law of Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University. Regulations of admission to the theCollegeofTechnology, Business, and Law. Admission Regulations are made public in the state language. In some instances, they may be made public in the regional languages or the languages of the national minorities. Citizens of Ukraine, foreigners and stateless persons residing in Ukraine legally, who have appropriate education (educational qualification) and expressed the desire to pursue higher education are admitted to Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University. Foreigners and stateless persons permanently residing in Ukraine, persons granted refugee status in Ukraine, persons in need of additional or temporary protection, and persons granted the status of foreign Ukrainians and staying in Ukraine legally have the right to higher education citizens of Ukraine. Obtaining higher education by the specified categories of persons for the state budget is made within the quotas established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Other foreigners and stateless persons may obtain higher education are funded by themselves or legal persons unless anything else is stipulated by international treaties of Ukraine ratified by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, laws or agreement between universities on international academic mobility. All persons who are pursuing higher education at universities have equal rights and duties. Admission to Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University to all educational and skill levels is sought on a competitive basis, regardless of education funding. Disabled people are given opportunities to study at Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University. Examination boards are formed in Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University to organize entrance exams. Professional certification commissions are formed to conduct professional testing to study based on the previously acquired degree (educational qualification level). According to the Admission Committee's decision, the competitive entrance exam results in the subject to enter a major may be considered for participation in the competitive selection at the direction of another specialty in this university. Entrance examination results on a competitive subject about an entrance to a specific educational direction (specialty) can be enrolled for participating in a competitive selection to another educational direction (another specialty) in this higher educational establishment by the receiving commission's decision. The educational institution began its history in 1940 when the Lutsk State Teachers' Institute was established. One hundred thirty-five first-year-students were enrolled in the institute. Fifty lecturers conducted an educational process. There were four faculties at the institute: the Faculty of Philology with the departments of Ukrainian and Russian Studies, the Physics and Mathematics Faculty, the Faculty of Natural Science and Geography, and the Faculty of Distance Learning. Methodological, material, and technical resources of the institute were insufficient. The institute was located on the outskirts of Lutsk in the building of the former orphan house built in 1929 (today there is a boarding-school there). There were shortages of equipment, books as well as teacher shortage. However, classrooms and laboratories were gradually equipped, and libraries were stocked with related materials. The Poltava Pedagogical Institute helped with those problems a lot. Ivan Sokur was appointed the first president of the Lutsk State Teachers' Institute. The work of the institute was interrupted by World War II in 1941 but resumed in 1946. In September 1951, the Lutsk State Teachers' Institute was re-established as the State Pedagogical Institute, which a year later was granted the use of the name of Lesya Ukrainka. At that time, the institute had only two faculties: the Faculty of History and the Humanities and the Physics and Mathematics Faculty. But at the beginning of the 1990s, there were already nine faculties at the institute. In May 1964, sports and recreational camps for students and lecturers were established at Lake Svityaz, which were forerunners of the "Hart" sports and recreational camp. Lesia Ukrainka Eastern European National University's material and technical resources include 13 educational buildings, six hostels, a preventative clinic, a student's base "Hart" (Lake Svitiaz), the stadium with a modern covering of the playground and treadmills, two botanical gardens, agrobiostation. The university is proud of the artistic groups of the Institute of Arts, which are known not only in the region and Ukraine but also in other countries, especially male vocal quartet «Akord,» Sandhurst trio «Dyvostruny,» folk instruments ensemble «Dzherela,» song and dance ensemble «Rozmai,» vocal octet «Double voice,» instrumental ensemble «Ekspromt.» There is no doubt that our university is an example of a classical learning institution. It was recognized by the authoritative commission that accredited it with the highest IV level rating. Lesia Ukrainka Eastern European National University was honored by numerous awards on international and all-Ukrainian levels.
