      1. The VES is not only a learning place but a social place as well: A home for children. Our children learn they are always welcome and are shown continued support in our school community. To develop confidence, children must share experiences such as learning, singing, games, and celebrations in a non-threatening, enriching environment. Children of different cultures, origins, religions, and education are taught the basics of understanding, tolerance, and mutual acceptance. Many of our joint activities and celebrations such as Carnival, Halloween, Thanksgiving, St. Patrick's Day, Christmas Fair, and Sleepover are designed to meet these goals. Another goal was to create a school that trains the children and prepares them for a future filled with new requirements and expectations that we do not know of today. Formation and expansion of education through lifelong learning is a key foundation for the future of our society. The early formation process of our children is the foundation for the later learning processes of adolescents and adults. Our school is especially significant in its education and educational mission. Future living conditions are constantly changing which means that one of the basic tasks at our school is preparing each student for this change. Schools face new educational challenges every day. In addition to the teaching of abstract knowledge and subject-related qualities, the school must strengthen self-reliance and self-confidence. To achieve this goal, we set theatrical pedagogical methods. Interdisciplinary learning in drama is an excellent example as well as music, language, visual arts, media education, rhythm, and dance combined. We believe one of the most important educational measures in our school is an integration of presentations, lectures, theater performances, and concerts. As you will see in our yearbook, we achieve this idea and will also continue to do so in the years to come. With these important goals of teaching, bilingualism plays a central role in our educational program. We receive much positive feedback from our graduates about the great work and dedication of our teachers. Therefore, my special thanks to all of our teachers who continue to present great dedication and patience to the children. At Vienna Elementary School and Vienna European School, we not only focus on our teaching but also the encouragement of independent and creative work to promote pride in one’s self-performance. We are working to create a learning environment where the children can discover their learning styles without fear. Our goal is to encourage and support the children so they can develop their strengths and attributes. View full school

      11. The Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) is a city-based art university that creates cultural values for the future through its tireless research in music, dance, and drama. Today's MUK dates back to the efforts begun during the 1920s by private stakeholders and the City of Vienna's public administration to provide access to the highest standards of education in the arts and music to a wide range of people. Since the university's accreditation in 2005 (still known back then as the Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität), the City of Vienna – as the sole owner of the GmbH institution – has made it possible for 850 students from all over the world to access artistic education that is contemporary, highly demanding on an international level, yet financially viable and following the principles of the Bologna Declaration of the European Union. Together with 280 lecturers, including many who enjoy the highest artistic or academic reputation outside their teaching positions, the young artists are part of a university community of competence and innovative strength, always driven forwards through the individual promotion of teaching and intensive research. The small but efficient management team provides administrative support incorporating the latest technological developments. It is also actively involved in the development of educational formats – comprising 400 public events a year, among other things. The close consultation between the university leadership and the lecturers, students and administrative staff, has seen a new structure be developed for the young university. This will, in particular, reposition the Master's degrees in terms of future artistic and academic requirements. Contemporary artistic work forms the thematic reference point, completing the circle of the past's founding ideals. The Music and Art Private University of the City of Vienna (MUK for short) brings together musicians and performing artists from all over the world. It offers them the possibility of artistic development in an open and innovative atmosphere. Regular cooperation with domestic and foreign partners is part of our self-image. Based on the rich Viennese art tradition, students, teachers, and administrators jointly develop music and the performing arts. They carry their products and skills all over the world, aware of the strength and responsibility of cultural workers in a world increasingly threatened by material constraints. The MUK is an autonomous university for music and performing arts, an indispensable part of the educational and cultural offer of the city of Vienna and is long-term positioned and recognized. The central task is the development and development of the arts in the linking of research and teaching, whereby a comprehensive education of the individual personality of the students based on extraordinary gift potential is of central importance. Teachers and students work together in the artistic individual and group lessons, in teams and ensembles, using co-creation, co-responsibility, and co-determination by the students. Access to MUK is highly selective for both students and teachers in terms of artistic ability, professional aptitude, and personal commitment. The Music and Art Private University of the City of Vienna offers a variety of study programs. On the one hand, it opens up traditional art forms and, through interdisciplinary connections, explores contemporary as well as trend-setting expansions of the standard concept of art education, while claiming international competitiveness in all represented art forms. Students expect that they will be supported at the MUK according to their particular facilities and personal visions to build professional identities based on the acquired skills in the study. The university teaching is not limited to training for established job profiles but strives further to develop students and teachers in their artistic work. The vital connection of research and teaching to practice is ensured by numerous events that MUK conducts independently and in cooperation with prominent cultural institutions and the national and international artistic activities of teachers and students. In the conscious perception of the university and non-university environment, cooperations have a high priority. The Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna (MUK) dispenses with the establishment of hierarchical academic levels. 12. In 1999, the Private University Act passed the Austrian Parliament, making it possible to found a university in Austria. As defined by this law, the wording must include “private” university, thus differentiating private universities from state institutions. An extensive and strict accreditation procedure is in place and must be repeated every few years to meet the required quality standards. The Austrian authorities exclusively use foreign assessments for this procedure. In 2003, Univ. Prof. Dr. Alfred Pritz, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Jutta Fiegl, Mr. Heinz Laubreuter, and Dr. Elisabeth Vykoukal founded the Sigmund Freud University (SFU). They aimed at transforming psychotherapy into psychotherapy science, based on an academic foundation. They were inspired by Sigmund Freud’s “The Question of Lay Analysis” from 1926, which anticipated psychoanalysis as a separate discipline. In 2005, the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs were accredited (the Ph.D. program was accredited later on), pioneering such academic programs worldwide. Until then, training in psychotherapy required a professional background in the psycho-social field, plus further pieces of training. The SFU was the first to introduce a university education where practical and academic aspects work hand in hand and uniquely complement each other. Besides, psychotherapeutic and psychological outpatient clinics were founded, which today form a pillar in providing mental health services to people living in Vienna. The SFU also offers its degree courses in psychotherapy in English, currently to students from 56 countries. Treatment in outpatient clinics is offered in different languages, and refugees are treated free of charge. In 2007, the Faculty of Psychology was founded. The approach to psychology taught at the SFU is explicitly embedded within the cultural and social sciences. In this respect, the SFU offers an alternative to so far conventional approaches of psychology as belonging to the natural sciences. The SFU truly is a European university. The first branch abroad was established in 2006 in Paris, followed by Ljubljana, Berlin, Milan, and Linz (Austria). All branches offer courses in psychotherapy and psychology in the local language and line with the local culture but based on a standard teaching approach. In 2009, the SFU started to expand the range of offered degree programs. In 2015, a course of studies in medicine was accredited, followed by law in 2016. They are the SFU newcomers but are among the oldest fields in the tradition of the sciences. Innovative and student-centered teaching, finding and filling promising research niches and being the intellectual home for students keen on learning and wanting to grow, makes the SFU a unique place to study. Faculties are organizational units focusing on research and teaching. Departments, institutes, and centers are subdivisions of the faculties, which, in addition to research and teaching, perform specialized tasks for the university, or primarily serve teaching or research purposes. Sigmund Freud University (SFU) is a unique institution that pioneered Psychotherapy Science as an academic program. The SFU was the first to introduce a university education in psychotherapy where academic and practical aspects work hand in hand and complement each other. We seek to set new standards for research and teaching by emphasizing research activities, practical training, and academic exchange. Innovative and student-centered teaching, finding and filling promising research niches and being the intellectual home for students keen on learning and wanting to grow, makes the SFU a unique place to study. Our international academic staff will guide you in the lectures and our outpatient clinics. Our mission is to offer degree programs where the concept of participatory medicine, which considers the multidimensionality of human beings and the complexity of health needs, is realized through excellent, research-oriented teaching, resulting in medical education with quality and soul. 13. The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna has been a leading European training center for artists for more than 300 years. It houses two of the most significant Austrian art collections, i.e., the "Gemäldegalerie" (Paintings Gallery) and the "Kupferstichkabinett" (The Graphic Collection). We offer students a variety of courses, including painting and sculpture, photography and video, performance, and conceptual art, including architecture, scenography, and conservation/restoration. The Institutes of Art Theory and Cultural Studies and of Natural Sciences and Technology in the Arts ensure a high theoretical standard in all the departments by offering seminars and carrying out a great variety of projects. This is closely linked to the training of art teachers, which we consider central in conveying and communicating art to others. The course structure, based on diploma studies and bachelor/master programs, is augmented through various doctoral studies, including an internationally renowned PhD-in-Practice program and the master program Critical Studies. This wide range of courses offered by the Academy enables students to pursue their own individual goals and to obtain a variety of qualifications. As a university, the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna is primarily dedicated to teaching processes based on research and art alike, i.e., on scientific and artistic research, the findings of which are integrated into the curricula in different ways and communicated to a broader public through exhibitions, symposia, lectures, and a publication series. Conveying a sophisticated understanding of art to a knowledge-based society is one of the main tasks of the Academy, apart from teaching students. The strength of the Academy lies in its teaching staff of successful, internationally recognized artists and its students from over 50 different countries, thus endorsing Vienna's central role as a mediator between East and West. The Academy also cooperates with universities and other institutions of art and culture worldwide. The Academy encourages its students to gather international experience in their studies and supports them in their endeavors. The Academy of Fine Arts is the only Austrian university where women hold at least 50% of all positions in all staff categories and on all management levels. Such consistent enforcement of the federal Equal Opportunities Act by the relevant university bodies proves that gender fairness can also be achieved on the tertiary education level. The Academy's teaching and research work rest on a differentiated concept of art that relates to the aesthetic appearance of a work of art and the characteristic forms of thought underlying artistic practice. First and foremost, we understand art as a mode of thinking and acting, which becomes manifest in a wide range of media. Art, as a specific form of insight, can be expressed by representatives of many professions seemingly unrelated to art. Consequently, the Academy provides a broad spectrum of offers for lecturers, students, and the interested in its collections such as the said Paintings Gallery and The Graphic Collection. Students at the Academy of Fine Arts are prepared for innovative work in an ever-widening field of social practice. We insist on the highest standards in teaching and research, but encourage our students to experiment simultaneously. With a teacher-student ratio of 1:6, the Academy offers highly individualized care and support to students. This puts it on a par with any outstanding art school worldwide, which is also reflected in its teaching regime. To safeguard these qualities, students undergo a complete selection procedure prior to admission, while students and peers regularly assess our lecturers. The Academy's artistic output, on the other hand, is judged by international experts at regular intervals. Five buildings, covering a total area of 33,500 square meters, provide sufficient space for teaching and research. All the sections are equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories, workshops, and studios. In particular, the video and sound studios are among the best of their kind in Austria. Besides, students and graduates have the opportunity to present and display their work in numerous exhibition rooms. All those working at or for the Academy, be it in teaching and research or administration, do so in an atmosphere of mutual respect and harmony. We are convinced that we can only achieve our common goals in a joint effort, through cooperation. Aware that effective management rests on trust and a positive attitude, we strive to foster our employees' strengths. To further improve our work's effectiveness and efficiency, we have been investing in all our employees' personal development and further training, and we regularly report on such staff development measures.
