  1. The establishment of Catholic University De La Salle Manado is clear proof of Manado diocese's concern for the monetary crisis that hit Indonesia in 1997. Bishop Manado, Mgr. As a founder, Joseph Suwatan realized that the crisis in Indonesia could be overcome by establishing qualified higher education institutions. Therefore, the Bishop of Manado, in cooperation with the Brothers De La Salle of the Philippines, founded the Catholic University De La Salle Manado. The main reason why the Brothers De La Salle were asked to establish this University was that the congregation established in Rheims, France, in 1680 dedicated itself to education development. The motto of Catholic University De La Salle Manado is Religio (Faith), Mores (Moral), Cultura (Culture). Thus, Unika De La Salle has a strong commitment to educating people who fear God, have a moral life and respect the culture. The name "De La Salle" is the name of a saint of 'Saint Johann Baptist De La Salle' who founded the Brother De La Salle congregation named Brothers of the Christian School (Fratres Scholarum Christianum, abbreviated as FSC). Unika De La Salle Manado was established on August 7, 2000, by Decree of the Minister of Education No. 123 / D / O / 2000 for 5 (five) faculties: Engineering, Economics, Agriculture, Law, and Mathematics with ten courses. Faculty of Nursing opened in 2003 with operational permission from Depdiknas number 3002 / D / T / 2003. In 2009, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Computer Science Study Program was merged into one with the Faculty of Engineering Informatics Engineering Program. At the beginning of its establishment, Unika De La Salle Manado used a small campus in downtown Manado, namely Kanaka Campus, having its address at Jalan Walanda Maramis no. 145, until September 2002. The lecture building on the Kanaka campus was formerly a cinema building owned by the diocese. In October 2002, Unika De La Salle Manado moved to a new campus located in the hills of Kombos with a total area of 15,000 m2. Kombos campus (or often known as Blue Campus) is located approximately 3 kilometers from Kanaka campus, precisely located in Wenang Permai II, Kairagi I. The new Campus was inaugurated on November 30, 2002, by Bishop Manado, Mgr. Josef Suwatan, and the Governor of North Sulawesi who served at the time, Drs. AJ Sondakh. The first Rector appointed by the De La Salle Catholic University Foundation is Dr. Johanis Ohoitimur, who served until the service in 2003. The second Rector is Dr. Johanis Montolalu, who filial until 2006. The next third Rector appointed PTU De La Salle Foundation is Johanis Mangkey, MA. This third Rector was in charge from the moment of the inauguration on JULY 5, 2006, to submit his position on 25 MARET 2008 as elected Provincial (Jesal) Provincial Leader of the Missionary Sacratissimini Cordis Jesu (MSC) Indonesia, which required the Mangkey priest to move to Jakarta. The pastoral period of Mangkey as Rector was followed by priest Revi RM Tanod, SS.SE, MA. Symbol Unika De La Salle Manado in the form of a shield of the top circled with a yellow ribbon with the words Unika De La Salle Manado. Under it circled with yellow ribbon with Indonesian writing. To develop the child's senses and to encourage him/her to communicate freely in an educational environment, we provide activities and games rich in culture and ethics. 3. When the Brothers of the Christian Schools founded La Salle College in 1863, they looked to their founder and the universal patron saint of educators, for inspiration and guidance. Beginning with this act of faith, La Salle became the first institution of higher education in the world to bear the name of St. John Baptist de La Salle. Even as La Salle has grown into a university to meet our students' changing needs and our times, our Lasallian Catholic heritage remains a constant, nurturing our institution into a community rooted in the Catholic intellectual and social teaching traditions. These traditions inspire us to integrate scholarship from across the various academic fields to understand the world around us in ways that bring people closer to the transcendent relationship. Today, La Salle University remains committed to the values of the Gospel and the founding story and vision of St. La Salle. Those values remain integral to understanding our Catholic identity and inform us how we continue our Lasallian educational mission. La Salle is a Lasallian Catholic university committed to the principle that all knowledge is practical and empowering, filled with the capacity to transform lives. Anchored in the living tradition of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and association with a diverse and inclusive learning community, our mission is to educate the whole person by fostering a rigorous free search for truth. In affirming the value of both liberal arts and professional studies, La Salle prepares students for the lifelong pursuit and exploration of wisdom, knowledge, and faith that lead to engaged and fulfilling lives marked by a commitment to the common good. Since 1863, La Salle University, a Lasallian Catholic University, has educated students of great promise from all faiths and all walks of life in the Brothers of the Christian Schools' traditions. As following scholars of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, we meet students where they are, and encourage, support, and challenge them to achieve beyond what their most ambitious dreams thought possible. Our rigorous, holistic education, steeped in the liberal arts and sciences and delivered by highly engaged faculty and staff, leads to the lives of professional and personal success and advancing the common good. Throughout our 154 years, our Lasallian values, Catholic mission, quality education, and student-centered experience have never changed and will never change. Yet what employers seek in graduates has changed dramatically, and so has the cost of a college degree. As a result, families and students seek education with more excellent identifiable value. They understandably emphasize job placement and career outcomes as they prepare for a rapidly evolving workplace and jobs that do not yet exist. La Salle has taken bold steps to support them. In fall 2017, our tuition was reset to 2008 levels to make a La Salle education—one already recognized nationally for its value—more affordable. And in fall 2018, incoming students will experience a re-envisioned core curriculum and master 12 institutional learning outcomes that exceed what the accreditation agencies require. We are confident this potent combination will produce creative, agile, resilient, and ethically-centered graduates. Graduates who are uniquely prepared to excel and change the world for the better of all—no matter what the day may bring, or where the adventure leads them. The La Salle education you will receive outside the classroom is just as important as the education you will receive. Some of the most impactful lessons you will learn will happen among friends, at unplanned hours, in places you least expect. With more than 120 clubs and organizations, there is an experience for everyone. You will find groups centered on common interests or lifestyles, academics, Greek life, and sports, as well as community service. Discover where your passions lie and make your time at La Salle more fun, more meaningful, more insightful, and just plain more. If a club or activity you are seeking does not exist, create it. After all, part of exploration is invention. At La Salle, we are Explorers—a community shaped by the Lasallian values of intellectual and spiritual development, service, and respect for others. La Salle's dedication to the transformation of the whole person is amplified in our Honors Program. Our distinctive curriculum features our unique Honors Triple program, considered by many as a national model. With unbeatable individual attention, invaluable mentors, and an intentional cohort environment in which curiosity thrives, questions are answered, and lifelong friendships are formed, you will receive the freedom to customize your education to your strengths and blaze your path forward. You will reflect the best of La Salle but also benefit from the best of what La Salle offers: a top-notch education that transforms students not just into leaders, but into Explorers. 6. Inspired by three centuries of the Christian Brothers' distinctive spirituality, La Salle educates the whole person, developing young men in their unique talents and strengths. A core program balances academics, athletics, the arts, and community service. An academically diverse student body discovers independence of thought and action that promotes a sense of individual responsibility. Mentors and educators, La Salle's dedicated teachers, drive a challenging and innovative curriculum. The Lasallian commitment to rigorous learning results in National Merit and AP Scholars rankings in the top tier among regional independent schools and an impressive list of college admissions. Nationally recognized technology and music programs and impressive campus facilities enhance La Salle's demanding academic program. La Salle students voluntarily and overwhelmingly heed the call to community service. All students participate in a broad and robust service program. They follow the dedication of the Brothers to bring creative and generous responses to the world of the poor today and to become leaders for a future of complex challenges. La Salle College High School, a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school for young men of varied backgrounds, is conducted in the tradition of St. John Baptist de La Salle. Through a broad and balanced, human and Christian education, La Salle College High School guides each student in developing his unique God-given talents and fosters a commitment to academic excellence, service, and leadership. Lasallian Education centers on Catholic values and personal relationships, emphasizing academic excellence, faith formation, inclusion, respect for the individual, service, and social justice. A Lasallian Education strives to enrich each student's cultural, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual development. Today, the De La Salle Christian Brothers and their Lasallian Partners continue to respond to students through teaching, technology, and scholarship advancements. In Lasallian communities, educators touch hearts, stimulate minds, and cultivate leadership to prepare students for life, work, and service to society and the Church. At La Salle College High School, Catholic values and personal relationships nurture our spiritual formation, fostering academic preparation and cultivating the young men's personal growth. In a warm and caring environment built on trust, acceptance, and affirmation of one another, we emphasize a human and Christian education as each student is encouraged to explore his interests, develop his talents, and fulfill his God-given potential. The De La Salle Christian Brothers and Lasallian Partners at La Salle College High School commit themselves to deliver a rigorous and relevant education. The teaching faculty continuously seek to improve their teaching and young men's learning experience by adopting appropriate educational advancements and technological innovations. A La Salle education seeks to foster insight, commitment, and action on the part of graduates who heed in their lives the call to place their unique talents and skills in the service of other individuals, the community, society, and the Church. Within the academic program, you will find the collective work of a faculty grounded in the mission of Lasallian education while, at the same time, understanding of the rigorous demands of a college preparatory school. This balance between the demands of a mission-based education in Christian service, faith, and love and the demands of a pre-collegiate curriculum is what makes La Salle College High School great. La Salle provides many programs to support students with the challenges of a college preparatory curriculum. The David Program is an outstanding program that provides additional support for students with learning differences. 7. La Salle College Preparatory strives to educate and inspire our students to explore, discover, and innovate in and out of the classroom, even after their tenure at the School. From news stories to press releases to social media, La Salle's community is active and engaged in their path to excellence. Today, nearly 80,000 students in more than 80 countries throughout the world receive their education in Lasallian Schools, which differ significantly in terms of clientele, curriculum, methodology, and social and cultural conditions. These schools are unified in the Lasallian heritage. At La Salle College Preparatory of Pasadena, we honor this mission in our profound but straightforward effort to produce good students and good people through a comprehensive college preparatory education. By comprehensive, meaning that, at La Salle, each student will find his or her niche inside the classroom and out. With over 20 varsity teams, an outstanding - and award-winning - Visual and Performing Arts program, and a wide array of co-curricular activities, every student entrusted to our care can find a way to nurture their unique attributes. All of this is accomplished in a community environment in which the most common adjective used to describe life at La Salle is the word "family." Our students are challenged to prepare for college or university and stretch and grow for the personal satisfaction achievement brings. The demanding college-preparatory curriculum boasts thirty Honors or AP sections. Students find opportunities for expression in a broad spectrum of visual and performing arts, as well as our twenty-two team sports. The School's emphasis on the learning process and the development of a Christ-centered value system drive all aspects of La Salle's community and campus life. So, student leaders in the Student Life Programs are imbued with a service spirit, as all students participate in service projects and opportunities. These range from preparing food for the homeless to mentoring inner-city elementary students for academic achievement. Saint John Baptist de la Salle told his teachers, "To touch the hearts of your pupils and inspire them with Christian spirit is the greatest miracle you can perform." This Lasallian teaching guides teachers, coaches, and all the adults who mentor our students. Students typically enter La Salle High School as Freshmen. STS testing, grammar school transcripts, written evaluations, and an optional personal interview are among the criteria evaluated by the Admissions Board. High School transcripts, written evaluations, and a personal interview form the basis for evaluating students applying for other grade levels. The College Counseling Center at La Salle guides students through their college search beginning in the spring semester of the junior year. Students meet regularly with the same college counselor during their junior and senior years to discuss the college admissions process, including admissions requirements and testing. Additionally, parent/student college information nights are held annually during which all students and their parents are provided general information regarding the admissions process and financial planning for college. Individual meetings with parents regarding college planning are offered as needed throughout the junior and senior years. Colleges from across the country visit La Salle each fall to meet with interested students regarding their programs. Student Life at La Salle invites every student to live out the School's Lasallian spirit by providing opportunities to grow in one's faith, engage in service experiences, and take an active role in the School's community life. Student Life lives out the mission of the School by nurturing students' faith lives through school-wide liturgies, daily prayer, and a four-year retreat program. The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has granted autonomous status to De La Salle University (DLSU) for a period of five (5) years from April 1, 2016, to May 31, 2021 (per CHED Memorandum Order 20, series 2016). DLSU is one of only three private higher education institutions (HEIs) to be given this recognition for five years. Furthermore, the CHED named fourteen academic programs of DLSU as Centers of Excellence (CEOs) and five academic programs as Centers of Development (CODs). Aligned to our commitment towards continuous quality enhancement, we have voluntarily submitted our academic programs (both graduate and undergraduate) for external evaluation by renowned agencies such as the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) and the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN QA). To date, DLSU has been granted Institutional Accreditation status by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) for having demonstrated the highest standards of instruction, research, and community engagement and having developed wide networks and linkages with other educational institutions. Twelve (12) undergraduate programs have achieved the highest accreditation of Level IV the Br's graduate programs. Andrew Gonzalez College of Education, College of Liberal Arts, and College of Science have also been granted Level III, the highest accreditation level for graduate school. A total of fifteen (15) undergraduate programs underwent a Programme Assessment by the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN QA). For this year, the BS Applied Corporate Management and the Ramon V. del Rosario College of Business's BS Entrepreneurship programs received the prestigious AUN QA certification. The two programs were assessed based on 11 AUN criteria stated in the revised AUN QA Guidelines version 3.0. Each member is invited to integrate this Mission with their specific role and expertise, whether in administration, academics, or research, contributing their part to the University becoming a resource for Church and nation. Recognizing that the Lasallian Mission involves all personnel and functions in De La Salle University, the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Lasallian Mission and its constituent bodies exist to provide the Lasallian formation of the University community. Ultimately, its efforts towards faith formation and community engagement are to help DLSU become more and more a school of and for the poor. DLSU is a low school since the Lasallian community is committed to providing full scholarships to at least 20% of its total population. It means that 1 out of every five students will be from the most disadvantaged groups in society. More importantly, DLSU is a school for the poor. This means that every academic department has to integrate relevant community engagement programs into their curriculum. As an institution for higher learning, academic departments of the University must seek, wherever possible, to use their unique expertise to research poverty in all its forms and, more importantly, develop sustainable solutions towards eradicating it. Forward-looking research addresses the need for timely and appropriate knowledge and applications. It provides insights into critical issues and positions all people and instruments needed in the proper perspective. It refines existing theories, techniques, and equipment to address the need for expertise in providing solutions to the country's developmental and educational concerns. Over time, research provides the leverage that transforms into intellectual leadership. At De La Salle University, all colleges are encouraged to identify their research objectives towards becoming a world-class university. The University also coordinates activities and disseminates pertinent information to institutionally-based externally-funded research objectives. These research projects are awarded by organizations or institutions that provide funds to DLSU. In turn, the faculty are provided mechanisms that aid them in research activities. John baptist de la salle, educational innovator par excellence, we, together and by association, are committed to giving quality human and Christian education to all, building a society founded on equity and justice and sustainable & inclusive development. Just south of Manila, De La Salle Lipa offers primary, secondary, and university education. De La Salle Lipa

Inspired by our faith in God, by our catholic traditions, and by the charism of st. John baptist de la salle, educational innovator par excellence, we, together and by association, are committed to giving quality human and Christian education to all, building a society founded on equity and justice and sustainable & inclusive development. Just south of Manila, De La Salle Lipa offers primary, secondary, and university education. It belongs to a 300-year tradition of schools run by the Christian Brothers, popularly known locally as the De La Salle Brothers.DLSL, established in 1962, is committed to excellent education and values formation of students regardless of religion, culture, and socio-economic status. One of the agendas in the directions of the Institution is to strengthen the program on internationalization further. This has been evident in the initiated and established a partnership with schools, universities, and organizations abroad. The most recent of which was with the International Association of Universities (IAU), a "UNESCO-based worldwide association of higher education institutions." Aside from IAU, the Institution is also affiliated with the Association of Southeast & East Asian Catholic Colleges & Universities (ASEACCU) and International Association of La Salle Universities (IALU). De Salle Lipa was built on a 5.9-hectare lot along the national highway. In January 1962, the three one-story wings of classrooms, a gymnasium-auditorium, and the Brothers' House began. During its first year, DLSL operated as the Boys' Department of the Maryknoll Sisters' Our Lady of the Rosary Academy (OLRA), with 221 students admitted from the first to fourth year. Three Brothers and seven lay teachers composed the first staff of the school. Br. Henry Virgil FSC was the first Director and Principal. In its second year of operations, the school obtained a temporary permit to operate as La Salle High School. During its fourth year of operations, the school population more than doubled. In 1967, the elementary grades were opened, with Br. Vernon Mobile FSC as Principal. In 1970, the school became known as De La Salle ng Lipa. Girls were first accepted in the school year 1974-75. In the years that follow, the school's incorporation papers and by-laws were amended. The school was officially registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as De La Salle Lipa, Inc. In the school year 1982-1983, DLSL received its first High School PAASCU accreditation. In 1985, the College Department came into existence with an enrollment of 130 students. The College offered a Bachelor of Science in Commerce Major in Business Management and Agribusiness Management. Because of the rapid growth of the Institution in the nineties, it became necessary in 1993 to have a President. DLSL alumnus, Br. Narciso "Jun" Erguiza Jr. FSC, was appointed as the first President. Br. Jun reorganized the administrative structure where the prominent academic and service departments became known as "units," and strategic directions were drafted and implemented, emphasizing the growing role of the College in the community. After Br. Jun, Br. Rafael "Rafe" S Donato FSC led De La Salle Lipa on a massive physical plant development program which completely transformed the Institution. The elementary and secondary units were integrated into what is known as the Unified School. A graduate program, Master in Management Technology, was offered. Programs in Financial Management, Computer Engineering, Economics, Management Technology, Legal Management, and Certificate Courses in Entrepreneurship, Hotel and Restaurant Management, and Information Technology were opened. In the later years, Psychology, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Communication, Mathematics, Nursing, Tourism, Entrepreneurship, Biology, and Electrical Engineering were also offered. After Br. Rafe retired in 2003, Br, Manuel "Mawel" Pajarillo FSC was installed as 3rd President of DLSL on 15 May 2003.Under Br. Maxwell's term, the grade school, and the Unified School's high school levels (re-named later as the Integrated School) received their Level 2 "clean" re-accreditation status for five years from PAASCU. The College, in its turn, submitted applications for the PAASCU accreditation of several programs. Thus, Business Management and Education were granted Level 1 accreditation status in 2005 while the rest had their preliminary visit the year after. New facilities were built, and information technology was improved. Wireless internet connectivity was introduced. In the school year 2005-2006, changes in the school's seal, vision mission statement, organizational structure, and nomenclature were implemented in response to new changes in Lasallian education. In the same school year, Br. Mawel launched the Book Mobile Reading Program (BMRP), a bus converted into a moving library. In SY 2010-2011, Br. Joaquin "Kenneth" S. Martinez FSC became the 4th President of De La Salle Lipa. During his time, physical renovation and maintenance of existing structures and landscaping significantly improved. Under Br. Kenneth's term, the school sustained a carefully planned physical development of its learning spaces with a zoning scheme for the Institution designating academic, institutional, athletic, and open spaces. During his term, the Institution opened its classrooms to the first batch of Senior High School students, two years ahead of the mandated implementation. Also, FAAP and PAASCU granted Level accreditation to the Integrated School and the following College programs: Communication, Psychology, Biology, Mathematics, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, and Accountancy. The University is a hub for higher education training renowned for its academic excellence, prolific and relevant research, and community service involvement. Nestled in the heart of Manila, De La Salle University is home to local and international students seeking quality education for a brighter future ahead. It is situated in a vibrant city where culture and diversity are well manifested. The University endeavors to provide holistic formation to all the students by developing the individual's full potential through various student development programs and services. These are being handled and offered by the seven offices under Student Affairs. A leading learner-centered and research University bridging faith and scholarship, attuned to a sustainable Earth, and in the service of Church and society, especially the poor and marginalized. The Lasallian Mission at DLSU is practically the Mission of the entire University community, as expressed in its Vision-Mission Statement.
