Modern-day medical settings witness a wide variety of health professionals working together as teams. But a common requirement of all professionals in such settings is advanced skills, and such skills and professional knowledge are learned by students in the Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Radiological Science departments of our School of Health Sciences. A thorough grounding in science is also a prerequisite to building this professionalism, combined with understanding and communicating with professionals of other disciplines in the medical workplace. Besides, a great sense of humanity is called to understand the ill and infirm. The Center for Humanities and Sciences and Center for Medical Sciences provide the foundations that support the acquisition of a broad understanding of liberal arts and science that underpins medicine. Practical education is also vital, and the University Hospital supports this from an early stage in the undergraduate curriculum.
After graduation, as they build their medical settings experience, various questions will arise for these health professionals. They will have a mind to resolve those questions through research and applying the latest knowledge.
