      1. Royal University for Women (RUW) is the first private, purpose-built, international university in the Kingdom of Bahrain dedicated solely to educating women. RUW provides a comfortable environment in which to create leaders, develop vibrant personalities, dynamic decision-makers, independent thinkers, and community-conscious individuals. RUW's initial degree programs were designed in collaboration with two reputed universities, McGill University in Canada and Middlesex University in the U.K. Since its inception in 2005, RUW has offered undergraduate and postgraduate programs which enable links with business and industry. Simultaneously, it emphasizes a strong foundation of general skills and knowledge through carefully designed curricula which were conceived with a focus on the requirements of the Bahraini Labour market. This is the highest possible rating that can be achieved in this type of review. Moreover this year CBFS has received validation of NQF mapping of two of its programs. The Bachelor of Law program at RUW has been reviewed by the University of Cambridge. Additionally, in its pursuit of upholding quality and excellence, a feather in the cap was added as RUW became one of the first two universities listed on the National Qualifications Framework. 3. Living in today's global world has become very challenging in this age of emerging technologies where education and research pave the way for the socio-economic development of all developed nations. The importance of knowledge and education has been the fundamental focus of our "deen" - Islam as this "Hadith" of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasis "seek knowledge from cradle to grave", yet we have been lagging behind many developing countries of the world in educating and learning. The opportunities of Higher Education among female folks of our country and especially in Southern Punjab have been seriously deficient over the years. However, the inception of Government Sadiq College Women University (GSCWU) is a right step by the Govt. of Punjab. As the saying goes "You educate a man. You educate a woman you educate a generation. "The challenge ahead is to develop GSCWU into a world-class seat of higher learning. Where education and research will go hand in hand to equip the young girls of Pakistan with state of the art technologies and innovative skills that will provide them a competitive edge in grabbing job opportunities and leading enterprises of their own to provide jobs for others. To this end, the priorities are to induct and develop highly qualified and trained faculty in all the existing and emerging disciplines of sciences, engineering, information technology, management science, and humanities. Similarly, the civil infrastructure, computational facilities, and scientific laboratories are certainly the priority areas for further development of this institution as per world-class standards. No stone will be left unturned in the grooming and personality development of our graduates so that they can be full of physical energy, intellectual strength, and ethical values. For strengthening and economic empowerment of women in this relatively underdeveloped area of Pakistan, special focus is going to be directed towards the establishment of technology incubators and entrepreneurial development centers. As an emerging university in southern Punjab, The Govt. Sadiq College Women University aims to provide quality education to empower women through knowledge and skills to participate actively in the socio-economic development of Pakistan as well as to impact the attitudes and behaviors of its graduates through various programs and initiatives to emerge as responsible, peaceful and tolerant citizens of the world. To prepare dynamic women leaders and practitioners in teaching, research, and management having content excellence, pedagogical competence, commitment, and integrity who may ensure quality and sustainable development of Pakistan in general and south Punjab in particular. The Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur is one of the most prestigious and well-known institutions of southern Punjab for women. It was named after its founder Nawab Sir Sadiq Khan Abbasi V. The GSCWU Bahawalpur is dedicated to a forest academic environment that enriches the personal, professional and academic lives of female students, staff, and faculty. It seeks to establish high quality in teaching and research in ornamenting the women with the jewel of higher education and illuminates the area to revive its past glory. The Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur was founded by Nawab Sir Sadiq Khan Abbasi V as an intermediate college for women in 1944. Later on, in 1957 it was upgraded as a degree college for women. Keeping in view the growing needs of higher education for women in southern Punjab, Masters Programs were initiated and it was upgraded as a postgraduate college for women in 2010. In December 2012, The Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur (Act VIII of 2013) was passed by Punjab Assembly and assented by the Governor of Punjab on 3rd January 2013. Pakistan is one of the countries in the world, which invest a lot in the education sector with a vast human resources base with an abundance of talents. Efforts had been made and are ongoing to boost up literacy rate to capitalize the human resources through the economic tools of efficiency of labor to make breakthroughs in the vicious circle of poverty. 7. Kinnaird has more than a century old rich history and tradition of excellence in educating young women. Our students’ success cannot be defined by qualifications alone. Our graduates leave as dynamic young women, equipped to play leadership roles in whatever path they choose in life. To achieve this, students are encouraged not only to commit themselves to their academic program but equally important to participate in extensive opportunities available beyond the classroom. We are proud of our academic programs that provide a holistic education taught by well-qualified faculty. We are equally proud of our sporting success, our dramatics, debating, art and musical excellence, and other creative avenues for students to pursue and benefit from. College life may be overwhelming as it is decidedly different from the school experience you are familiar with. The four years you will spend in your undergraduate program will be a crucial stage of preparation for your future life. Choose your academic program wisely, engage actively in activities you are passionate about, and find time to enjoy and make lifelong friends. Those of you who will be joining Kinnaird for the postgraduate studies, We welcome you to the two-year MPhil programs we offer in different disciplines. At this point, you are mature and envisage well acquainted with the dynamics of higher education. The vision for Kinnaird is to be a Centre of excellence for the education of women in South Asia, by offering an academic program of International Standards, engaging in research and service that serves the development of new knowledge and ideas and promotes social responsibility and active citizenship. This is in recognition and continuation of the reputation the college has of being the most prominent and prestigious institution for women in Pakistan. The Mission of Kinnaird is to provide access to an education that is holistic, of quality, and relevant to the context and time. An education that serves personal transformation, develops leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs, women who think independently, work cooperatively, and act responsibly and courageously for social transformation. Women who can live according to the college oath, “to live up to the trust placed in me, willingly and conscientiously fulfill my responsibilities and to work with integrity and loyalty to be rather than to seem.” The Motto of Kinnaird “Light to guide us, the courage to support us, and love to unite us”. In these simple but stirring words lies the quintessence of the spirit of Kinnaird, the oldest and most distinguished women’s college of Pakistan. Intermediate classes began in 1913, followed by B.A. Classes four years later. But even at that early stage, Kinnaird sensed the need for more room to grow and so the college moved to Lake Road in 1926. In 1933, the land was acquired near Lahore’s famous canal and new buildings were constructed to house the streaming numbers of girls who flocked to this institution. By 1939 the twenty-acre campus was humming with activity. Today Kinnaird ranks as the country’s premier institution for education where over 3300 students are enrolled at present. Kinnaird has achieved its independent status after years of struggle. It is already conducting classes leading to a Masters Degree in English Literature, Applied Linguistics, Mass Communications, French, English Language Teaching, Environmental Sciences, Science Education, Statistics and Computer Sciences. M.S in Accounting and Finance and M. Phil in English Literature have been introduced last year. Various other programs will be started this fall. Kinnaird has always been an institution of special significance. It is more than a college a community enriched by the spirit of inquiry that kindles in the students. The teachers encourage a spirit of inquiry, research, and participation in their students. Above all students who enter Kinnaird leave with a mark of quality and wider appreciation of human values. Kinnaird makes this transition possible because it produces women who are individuals in their own right, who quickly begin to display intelligence, competence, flexibility, maturity, and a sense of responsibility both to their academic pursuits and in their overall personality development. The graduates of this institute continue to make major contributions to the civic life of Pakistan and to many communities abroad, where they tend to excel by their special grounding at Kinnaird. In the face of declining education and disciplinary standards that have unfortunately characterized our country, the responsibility of maintaining standards of excellence has fallen on Kinnaird, but it has met this challenge with its customary zeal and spirit. Its academic records have continued to soar higher every year. View full university
