  1. We believe that children who are brought up in an Islamic environment will inshallah thrive and grow with strong roots from the Islamic way of life. It has been established and is well documented that long-term life success is dependent on the child's leading environment. That is during the first few years of his or her life. The first five years are the time when children discover the world and how to learn, therefore, positive learning opportunities during those years are essential for children's emotional, social, language, cognitive and physical development. A smart classroom is a new technology that increases the communication between teachers and students during lessons. It is a teacher station equipped with a computer and audiovisual equipment. It allows the teacher to present the lesson using a wide variety of media such as DVD, VHS, PowerPoint presentations, etc. This technology enhances the visual memory of students which results in a faster perception of knowledge. We believe that children should be allowed to hear a clear accent. Childhood is the best time to learn and develop the accent. Children between 3-9 tend to imitate their teachers' accents. In our School, English subjects are taught by native teachers or native-like. "The most important period of life is not the age of university studies, but the first one, the period from birth to the age of six. For that is the time when man’s intelligence itself, his greatest implement, is being formed". Al-Alameen School is implementing the National Curriculum of England as a junior school. This covers Key Stages 1 and 2. There is a combination of Arabic and Islamic Studies (Quraan, Tawheed, and Fiqh), Music has been taken out. Dyslexia is described as a learning difficulty with literacy skills such as spelling, reading, writing, and maths. It is a neurologically based disorder. It is a problem with managing verbal codes in memory. This refers to the nervous system. The School provides some assistance for children with learning difficulties such as children with dyslexia and dyspraxia. View full school

  3. Since it was founded in 1970, Riyadh Schools has been honored by having His Royal Highness, King Salman bin Abdel-Aziz- who is well-known for his wisdom, foresight, and open-mindedness- as the honorary president. The school has witnessed a rapid expansion that makes it unique with its buildings, playgrounds, and green areas. We always encourage excellence and perseverance. Moreover, vital communication with students in a way that students would feel more encouraged and safer. Riyadh Schools is managed by a board of directors appointed by the Misk Foundation and endorsed by the honorary president. It consists of nine members. The members are not allowed to work in the school during their membership term. The term is determined in the appointment decision or a separate decision. If a member resigns or leaves his office for any reason, Misk Foundation will take the appropriate decision. The board of directors holds a meeting every six months at least during the academic year. A meeting is considered formal if attended by a majority of members, and decisions are made by a majority vote. A modern school is no longer a place where students can only learn reading, writing, and some simple skills. It has qualitatively developed to keep abreast of the swift changes occurring nowadays. Therefore, a modern school has a vital role to boost awareness and culture, develop ways of thinking, and improve behavior. Consequently, the main concern of any school is how to make a leader who is learning from circumstances around him and influencing and being influenced by the environment around him. Thus, the school should prepare students academically, culturally, and intellectually in a way to make them capable of coping with our new challenging world and thus meeting the expectations of their families, society, and country. These concepts will remain our slogan in Riyadh Schools till the dream comes true. This is why we seek to make Riyadh Schools an institution for making a generation of leaders that lead our great nation to the future. Those leaders will undoubtedly add glory and achievements to our history of civilization in a way that will fascinate the world. This is our only guarantee that our development journey will not halt as long as we continue making such leaders at all walks of life. Prepare students intellectually, morally, and spiritually to pursue their aspirations and contribute to society. Thoughtful learners and passionate leaders serving our society. Reinforcing Islamic values and Saudi culture in the global world is a paramount obligation of the school. Every student can learn and improve, and it is our responsibility to act in ways to make that happen. A caring, listening, mutually supportive community promotes the values of truth and respect. Student learning and student well-being are the fundamental obligations of the school. A safe and nurturing physical, social, and intellectual environment is essential in our school. View full school

  5. Our school vision is to be an outstanding International School, continuously striving for improvement and engaging our whole community with the concepts of: Learning to Live. Learning to Learn. Learning to Lead. We provide excellent British Style education with an international perspective, within a safe environment, where individuals feel secure, respected, valued, happy, and successful. Our community of learners from many nations works together harmoniously. In a spirit of international-mindedness, we develop understandings of our own and others’ cultures. Our teachers, working with parents as partners, inspire in our students a love of learning, motivating and challenging them to become the best they can be. Our students build personal and interpersonal knowledge, skills, and values. In developing these attributes in an innovative environment, we expect our students to flourish, becoming balanced individuals with the potential to make a difference as principled leaders of the future. The British International School of Jeddah is a private community school licensed by the Ministry of Education. We are a not-for-profit organization governed by a Board of Trustees. Our school caters to children from years K-13 and has more than 1500 students from over 60 countries. We are accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Additionally, we are authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) and are a center for Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and also a member school of British Schools in the Middle East (BSME). BISJ Primary is a warm, vibrant, and welcoming school, where learning is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to providing a safe, secure, and happy environment where our students, from around sixty nationalities, come together to learn in an atmosphere of mutual regard, respect, and international mindedness. Our Golden Rule says it all “We treat others the way we would like to be treated”. Nursery is the first experience many children have of a school setting. We begin by ensuring the children settle smoothly and that they and their parents feel safe and secure while becoming accustomed to the routines of Nursery life. We believe that each child has unique capabilities and aim to provide a stimulating, challenging, but supportive environment through planned indoor and outdoor activities. Creativity is fostered through the use of a wide range of media and materials in messy, sensory, or imaginative play and free choice activities. Language is developed through stories, singing, rhymes, and by encouraging the children to communicate and express themselves at every opportunity. Nursery is a year of growth for the children where we endeavor to build the foundations of independence, cooperation, and communication. We strive to develop a positive and open relationship with our parents as their support is essential if we are to achieve our aims in developing happy, confident individual Learning is a holistic experience and we want our students to leave as well-rounded individuals who can make a positive contribution to society. This means that learning at BISJ goes beyond the classroom with a broad range of after-school clubs, trips, sports, and events that aid the social and emotional growth of our students. We also have a strong pastoral program and there are several special days during the year where all of Senior School come together with a focus on holistic education. In the latter part of the 1970s, there existed in Jeddah an American school and a British preparatory school. The prep school only admitted holders of British or Dutch passports, and it had been founded under the auspices of those two embassies, which were located in Jeddah at that time. The school is a non-profit educational establishment, licensed to operate by the Directorate of Foreign Education (formally the Saudi Arabian International School’s Office – SAIS) of the Ministry of Education. The school has a self-perpetuating Board of Trustees. It is patronized by some diplomatic missions, notably the British, but it should be emphasized that the school does not have any form of diplomatic status. In its original form as ‘The Continental School, it was accredited by the European Council of International Schools (ECIS) in 1990, the first British-style school worldwide to achieve this status. It gained re-accreditation by the Council of International Schools (CIS) as ‘The British International School of Jeddah’ in 2002 and again in 2012. It is also accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and is an accredited member of British Schools in the Middle East (BSME). In 2015 the school is very different from the original villa school of October 1977. The evolution of the school over its 38 years of existence has, in no small part, been due to the changing nature of the expatriate community in Jeddah and the Ministry's decision to allow Saudi students, with special permission, to attend. It is also due to the high demand from both local and expatriate parents for what is perceived to be high-quality education. It is also true to say that some of the changes are due to the changing regulatory framework in which the school operates. The perceived high quality of the school has resulted in significant enrollment problems with many year groups now being heavily oversubscribed. The popularity of the school with Saudi families adds dynamic. Reflecting the international nature of the school, today our primary curriculum is based around the International Primary Curriculum and in Upper School, we follow a program leading to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education in Year 11 and the International Baccalaureate Diploma in Year 13. 7. Yara International School was started in the year 2003 with the idea of starting a school with a difference, a school that is truly innovative and genuinely child-centered catering to the needs of the Indian community. The school aims to provide quality education at an affordable cost to the younger members of the Indian Diaspora with emphasis on the overall development of the children. In 14 years, YIS has become a name to reckon with. For an institution that started with a humble beginning of 79 students, the journey of success has been extraordinary in every sense of the word. The ascent to the top has been gradual but focused and determined. At present, our school has a strength of around 3000 students. In the past few years, YIS has scaled new heights of success on all fronts, be it academics, sports, or co-curricular activities, making it one of the most sought-after institutions in Riyadh, K.S.A. The school currently offers classes from Kindergarten to Grade XII. The school operates in a state of the art campus with spacious classrooms, Kindergarten recreational area, Sports grounds, resourceful Library, well equipped Science and Math Labs, High Tech-I.T Labs, Health and Wellness club, Auditorium, and above all Smart Class system across all grades. We live in an interconnected and complex world that is changing at an unprecedented pace. Preparing children to succeed in this challenging environment demands a flexible and real-world based – approach to education. Indeed it requires a dynamic school that can turn learning into a life-long journey of inquiry and discovery, culminating in knowledge that matters. While academic strength is essential to survive, children need excellent soft skills, communication skills, understanding of global culture and its appreciation, a good character, an attitude to be a lifelong learner and contribute to the society at large. Ethics and values, morals, and discipline need to be ingrained into them during the formative years of schooling, to mold them into good human beings who are capable of taking the world into their stride. At YIS, we believe that the objective of education is just not to inform, but also to empower and transform. With this philosophy at its core, we have nurtured an ideal schooling environment where each child can learn, thrive and achieve his/ her fullest potential and most importantly have fun in the process. Experienced and knowledgeable teachers help to draw out latent potential and foster growth while a versatile curriculum proffers a perfect blend of academics and experiential learning. Therefore, all our activities are meticulously planned to bring out the leadership qualities in children and to train them to be confident, capable, and responsible citizens of tomorrow. The school curriculum is completely based on the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, India. Care has been taken to build in the all-around developmental needs of the children while designing our curriculum. In addition to scholastic subjects, computer education and sports & games are integral parts of the curriculum. It is child-centered, innovative, value-based, and activity-oriented with reinforcement of concepts taught with the help of hands-on learning experiences, field trips, and play-way methods. YIS offers an expansive array of curriculum to meet the needs of students of all age groups. At the Kindergarten and Primary level, we follow the “Play Way Method” advocated by Jean Jacques Rousseau i.e. “Learning through the self-expression” and “Learning by Doing”. In the initial stages, the focus is on oral language development and value education. Gradually other skills are integrated into the curriculum. In addition to scholastic subjects, children are taught Music, Outdoor games, and Art and crafts to sharpen their gross and fine motor skills. From the Primary level onwards CCE scheme of evaluation as recommended by CBSE is followed. At the Secondary and Senior Secondary Levels, YIS offers a comprehensive CBSE curriculum that helps students prepare not only for the CBSE examinations but also for competitive examinations like National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). With the rapid increase in the number of students, the need for a new building was felt. To fulfill this requirement, the new school building was constructed in 1984, with the facility of 135 classrooms in two separate wings for boys and girls. The School functions by the rules and regulations set by the Ministry of Education, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Board of Directors duly elected by the parents of the students under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Education, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia constitutes the ‘governing body’ and formulates the policies of the school. The operational activities of the school are carried out under the supervision of the Principal of the school. The Primary Section- headed by Headmistress- comprises classes Prep to IV for Girls and Prep to V for Boys. The Secondary Sections - headed by Vice Principal - comprise class V to XII for Girls and class VI to XII for Boys. In administration, the School has a Director of Finance and an Administrative Officer. The Director of Finance is overall in charge of all financial matters, whereas the Administrative Officer looks after the Personnel Section, the Transport Section, and building(s) maintenance.

The context also impacts the way school leadership considers how to organize, maintain order, and stay faithful to the school's direction. The school is licensed to enroll up to 988 students in the three schools as the classroom capacity is 18 in KG, 22 in other classes. Currently, FIS is serving 847 students in grades K- through twelfth grade. The school is housed in three separate buildings. The teaching staff at FIS is highly qualified.
