- On the site of a former thread factory and easily accessible by public transport, SIS Zürich offers an exceptional infrastructure for all education levels. Over twenty spacious classrooms, a variety of special subject rooms for arts, music, crafts, and woodwork, a gym, and a library are to be found under one roof in the school building. A cafeteria and the popular roof terrace offer recreational space for personal development and stories – be it in German or English. SIS Zürich launched its bilingual college in August 2005. In the summer of 2012, we moved to the new school building at Seidenstrasse in Wallisellen. Today, we offer all educational levels from kindergarten to primary school, advanced secondary school, and college. Bilingualism is experienced both in class and day-to-day school life on all educational levels. The two school languages, German and English, act as a bridge connecting the diverse nationalities and cultures represented under our roof. SIS Zürich is an officially designated bilingual Swiss Gymnasium. Students can graduate both with the Swiss Matura and the International Baccalaureate (IB). Our modern, bright school building with modern classrooms, its gym, playground, and rooftop terrace appeals to all educational levels. Joint events and projects involving all age levels strengthen the diverse school community. A personal learning environment, an appreciative attitude, and a positive approach towards performance are what makes our school unique. Despite its size, SIS Zürich is a personal school with high-quality before and after school care where important skills and attitudes are imparted to children, adolescents, and young adults to help them find their way in a globalized world. Find out everything you need to know about the education levels on offer at SIS: preschool, primary school, secondary school, and college, culminating in the Swiss bilingual Matura and/or the International Baccalaureate (IB). Learn more about the continuous education from kindergarten through to secondary and college level at SIS – one of the major advantages of our bilingual educational concept. SIS Swiss International School Zürich provides a complete education from preschool through to secondary school and college. On all levels, subjects are taught in German and English. Bilingualism, however, is not a requirement for entry at any level. “The sooner, the better.” When it comes to learning a language, this statement is irrefutable. In preschool, children are at an age when their language is particularly susceptible to outside influences. This is why it is important for them not only to practice the second language but also to use it naturally to engage with the world. As a result, kindergarten will prove to be a varied and exciting time for both children and parents. Our bilingual Kindergarten offers a well-supervised, safe, and stimulating learning environment for children aged four to six. SIS has developed its curriculum for children in this age group, comprising six areas of learning and discovery. Our Kindergarten is the ideal preparation for the transition into bilingual SIS Primary School. At our bilingual Primary School, teaching is based on the curriculum of the respective canton. This state curriculum is supplemented by elements of international educational practice as well as by pedagogical standards developed by SIS. By attending our Primary School, children are ideally prepared for the transition into our Bilingual College. Students can transfer from and into the public school system at any time. Following primary school, SIS Zürich offers a three-year advanced secondary school program generally known as progymnasiale Sekundarschule. Since the curriculum is similar to the one used at the college level and classes are largely taught by college teachers, it offers students an ideal preparation for continuing their education in the four-year college program. At SIS secondary level, English and German are equally important, both as languages of instruction and in other parts of day-to-day school life. However, unlike in primary school, each subject is generally taught exclusively in one language. At the college level, SIS Zürich offers two attractive options to students: the Bilingual College and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. With the Swiss Matura or the IB Diploma, there is no limit to the educational opportunities available to our students. As a school, we are committed to doing everything we can to support children as they are growing up and to provide a valuable complement to their family life. This includes lunchtime meal offers, homework supervision, flexible drop-off and pick-up times, as well as exciting activities, even during school holidays. SIS Swiss International School Zürich is a day school. Including our optional before and after school care, the school day runs from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. It is important to us that students of all age groups feel happy and comfortable at our school, which is why we offer a range of services to cater to our students’ various needs. - "Our School exists to provide opportunities which promote the whole development of each child so that they may attain their full potential within a safe, stable, stimulating, happy, and caring environment enabling them to take their place in an ever-changing world as responsible citizens of the future." Choosing the right school for your child is extremely important in enabling them to reach their full potential, both during the time they are in Primary school and also in preparing them for Comprehensive School. We at Swiss Valley take a pride in our Educational Standards which are well above both Carmarthenshire and All Wales comparisons. Our relationships with partner Secondary schools are excellent and the vast majority of our pupils go on to excel at Secondary School and beyond. All parents want a good education for their children but they also want them to be happy and to feel safe and secure in their school environment. At Swiss Valley School we believe we can offer all of these things. We also pride ourselves on the broad, balanced, and varied opportunities that we provide for each of our pupils throughout the school and also in the high standards of teaching and learning which are a credit to the hard work of both staff and pupils. Equally, we are also proud of the atmosphere of friendliness and cooperation which is always evident. Visitors to the school often comment on the warm welcome they receive and also on the homely atmosphere within the school environment. We value all our pupils for who they are and we believe that their time in our school should be rewarding and fulfilling. The school provides a balanced and broad program of learning experiences, ensuring that all aspects of the National Curriculum receive regular attention, and sets out to ensure that every pupil has the opportunity to acquire new skills and experiences in a caring environment. We firmly believe in the importance of teaching the ‘basics’ and emphasis is placed on children achieving competence in literacy and numeracy before they transfer to Secondary Education. - SIS Swiss International School is a private day school committed to consistent and genuine bilingual classroom instruction, we offer education on all levels from kindergarten through to secondary school. Teaching at SIS is based on our established and unified school concept. SIS operates 16 bilingual day schools in Switzerland, Germany, and Brazil. From preschool through to secondary school, more than 3.700 students from both local and internationally mobile families are educated in English and German. In Germany, we have schools at six locations. The combination of an international outlook and close ties to the local community empowers our students to take on the challenges of today’s globalized world with confidence. Our teaching philosophy is non-ideological but founded on clearly defined core values such as honesty, appreciation, personal responsibility, and integrity. In addition to the German Abitur, our students also complete the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. With this dual qualification, they are ideally prepared for continuing their education at a German or an international university. The SIS primary school curriculum is consistent with the state curriculum which is supplemented by elements of international educational practice as well as by pedagogical standards developed by SIS. By attending our Primary School, children are ideally prepared for the transition into our bilingual Secondary School. Students can transfer from and into the public school system at any time. At our Secondary Schools, we prepare students for the German Abitur and, if desired, for the globally recognized International Baccalaureate (IB). SIS Swiss International School's bilingual Secondary Schools are private all-day schools that offer targeted preparation for completing a university entrance qualification. At SIS’s bilingual Secondary Schools, teaching is based on the curriculum of the respective German federal state. English and German are equally important, both as languages of instruction and in other parts of daily school life. Each subject is taught exclusively in one language for at least one academic year. We take great care to ensure that the overall distribution of lessons in German and English is as equal as possible and that students learn the relevant subject-specific terminology in both languages. When they graduate, our students should be able to attain the German Abitur school-leaving certificate and, if desired, the International Baccalaureate (IB). This opens up a variety of opportunities for SIS students to pursue further education and professional experience at home and abroad. View full school

- It is not only the school’s easy access to public transport but also its exclusive location that makes SIS Zürich-Wollishofen unique. Separated from Lake Zürich by an extensive public park, the two school buildings are combined in a charming garden complex. The bilingual kindergarten is housed in the historical building, whereas the bilingual primary school, library, and cafeteria can be found in the modern school building. It is a truly ideal setting for learning, growing up, stories and history. Overlooking the Landiwiese and Lake Zurich, we are currently teaching around 220 students in 14 grade-based classes from kindergarten to grade 6. Our school is influenced by the various Swiss families, as well as international ones, who have made their home or place of work in the Lake Zürich area. Everyday school life is enriched by this diversity on all levels however, we also place great value on establishing ties with the local community. Teaching is based on our competency-based bilingual curricula, which also makes it possible for students to transfer from and into the public school system at any time. While we aim to provide a performance-oriented education, we also place great importance on equipping our students with strong social skills and values. We offer our students a stimulating learning environment that is characterized by cooperativeness and kindness thus, providing them with all of the necessary conditions to develop into motivated and socially competent individuals. Find out everything you need to know about the education levels on offer at SIS Zürich-Wollishofen. Learn more about the continuous education from preschool to college offered at SIS – one of the major advantages of our bilingual educational concept. The SIS Swiss International School Zürich-Wollishofen offers bilingual education from kindergarten to grade 6 of primary school. On all levels, classes are held both in German and English. However, bilingualism is no prerequisite for admission. "The sooner, the better." When it comes to learning a language, this statement is irrefutable. At our bilingual Primary School, teaching is based on the cantonal curriculum. This state curriculum is supplemented by elements of international educational practice as well as by pedagogical standards developed by SIS. By attending our Primary School, children are ideally prepared for the transition into our Bilingual College at SIS Zürich. Students can transfer from and into the public school system at any time. As a school, we are committed to doing everything we can to support children as they are growing up and to provide a valuable complement to their family life. This includes lunchtime meal offers, homework supervision, flexible drop-off and pick-up times, as well as exciting activities, even during school holidays. SIS Swiss International School Zürich-Wollishofen is a day school. Including our optional before and after school care, the school day runs from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. It is important to us that students of all age groups feel happy and comfortable at our school, which is why we offer a range of services to cater to our students’ various needs. Surrounded by our garden and a large nearby park area, and with views of the Landiwiese and Lake Zürich, our students live and learn at a central but green location. In addition to well-equipped contemporary classrooms, we offer various special-purpose rooms such as a crafts room and a library. For sports and swimming lessons, we are allowed to use the buildings of the nearby public schools and swimming pool. Transport is provided by our school bus. Our day school structure wouldn’t be complete without our cafeteria, which also serves as a venue for school events. An adventure playground invites children to climb, play balancing games or use the slide. Students also enjoy themselves playing table tennis or soccer. Individual classes sometimes spend their lunch breaks at the Belvoirpark or on the beautiful Landiwiese, always accompanied by supervisors.
