      1. Isaac Newton Academy is a non-denominational, non-selective school, welcoming girls and boys from all backgrounds from the local community. The secondary school opened with just 180 Year 7 students in September 2012. Each year it will welcome another cohort of pupils until it has 1250 11-18-year-olds in 2018 (including the sixth form of 350). In September 2014, Isaac Newton Academy opened a primary phase which has just moved into purpose-built accommodation right next to the secondary academy. We currently have 90 reception children at the primary school, under the leadership of Tam Broadway, Head of Primary. INA Primary will be 3 forms of entry primary school, with 90 children in each year group. Like the secondary school, it will grow a year group at a time. At Isaac Newton Academy we aim to equip every student with the knowledge, learning power, and character necessary for success at university and beyond. We: Set clear, ambitious goals, and rigorously monitor our progress in achieving them. Offer a curriculum emphasizing core academic subjects, while providing the facilities and specialist staff to meet and stimulate a wider range of interests. Employ an approach to teaching that instills knowledge, understanding, and a desire to learn. Ensure that all students, teachers, staff, and parents commit fully to making Isaac Newton Academy a vibrant learning community. At Isaac Newton Academy we believe that all students have the potential to achieve outstanding educational outcomes. We know that the brain is like a muscle, in that its intelligence grows with exercise. Scientists are learning that people have more capacity for life-long learning and brain development than they ever thought. Although individuals have a unique genetic endowment and start with different temperaments and aptitudes, we know that experience, training, and effort are critically important. It is not always those who start the smartest who end up the smartest. This has implications for how we teach and communicate with students. We have recruited outstanding teaching and support staff who share our ethos of high expectations and no excuses and we have prioritized their ongoing training and development. At Isaac Newton Academy we take a systematic approach to assessment, establishing baselines, tracking students frequently, and using regular diagnostic assessments. Each student has an assessment profile and a clear progression path. Each scheme of learning has clear learning objectives. Progress is shared regularly with students and their families so that appropriate support and challenge can be planned and provided. We regularly and rigorously evaluate and assess all that we do as staff to provide a first-class education for our students and strive to constantly improve the quality of teaching and educational provision. 2. Your child will shortly be entering our school at the start of an exciting adventure on what will hopefully be a lifelong learning experience. We trust that they will enjoy their time at Newton and do their best to achieve and learn well. We hope that this will be the beginning of a long and lasting relationship between ourselves, your children, and you the parents. Every child in our school is a special and important person with particular needs and interests. We strive to achieve the highest possible standards for all our pupils and to provide them with a caring, safe and stimulating environment. Most of all we want our pupils to enjoy the whole learning process. We seek to achieve this through strong partnership working with the home, school, and community. We see the support of parents as an essential element in the success of your child’s education and we will endeavor to build a lasting relationship between the school and yourselves. Pupils from Nursery to Year 2 follow the Foundation Phase curriculum. It combines what we used to call Early Years Education (for 3 to 5-year-olds) and Key Stage 1 (5 to 7-year-olds) of the National Curriculum. The Foundation Phase is based on the principle that early years' provision should offer a sound foundation for future learning through a developmentally appropriate curriculum. It places great emphasis on children learning by doing. Young children are given opportunities to gain first-hand experiences through play and active involvement rather than by completing exercises in books. They are given time to develop their speaking and listening skills and to become confident in their reading and writing abilities. Mathematics is practical so that children can see how problems are solved and how important mathematics is in their everyday lives. There is an emphasis on children underst\nding how things work and on finding different ways to solve problems. View full school
      3. Newton Prep children are bright and inquisitive individuals, each with unique abilities, interests, and aspirations. They have exceptional opportunities at this school – for personal development, adventure, and achievement in many directions. We encourage their curiosity and imagination at every stage of school life, and provide important foundations for a love of life and learning in this formative period. Newton Prep is a successful and dynamic school with high standards and expectations. We are interested in education in the fullest sense, and seek to provide a proper balance of academic excellence, fun, and activity. The teaching staff is wholly committed to giving the children an outstanding educational experience during their time at Newton Prep. We value the quality of our relationships with parents and children, which are grounded in respect, trust, and honesty. Newton Prep is a vibrant co-ed school for children aged 3-13 which offers a challenging education for inquisitive children who are eager to engage fully with the world in which they are growing up. Our aims: To inspire children to be adventurous and committed in their learning. To provide balance and breadth in all aspects of a child’s education: intellectual, aesthetic, physical, moral, and spiritual. To encourage initiative, individuality, independence, creativity, and inquiry. To promote responsible behavior and respect for others in a happy, safe, and caring environment. Central to our mission statement is our School Council, our equivalent to a Governing Body. We are privileged to have a team of impressive individuals in a variety of fields, giving us a breadth and depth of educational, political, and community experience with which to realize our aims. Newton Prep is an independent preparatory school and nursery in Battersea, South West London for boys and girls aged 3 to 13. Deciding your child’s schooling is one of the most important you will make as a family. We are very fortunate in London to have so many good prep schools to choose from and many of your friends and associates will have a view about the ‘best schools. Firstly, we think you will find us to be a very happy community. Newton Prep children are full of life, spark, and character. We celebrate their individuality and do not try to force them into a particular way of being. They form strong friendships here and the relationships between the staff and the children are positive and mutually respectful. We are a big prep school. We have over 600 children on roll (about 300 in the Pre-Prep and 300 in the Prep) and yet the pastoral care is exceptional. The children know each other very well and so do their teachers. Also, we have outstanding facilities. With a 300-seat auditorium, a 120-seat Recital Hall, a music technology suite, 3 state-of-the-art science labs, a wonderful library, and spacious classrooms, the children have many opportunities to develop their interests and enthusiasms. From the outside, you might not realize that we also have a very large all-weather pitch and a huge playground for our Lower School (Pre-Prep) children to play on. When they come to apply for senior schools (at 11+ or 13+) our children are well prepared for the increasingly competitive exams and assessments they must take. Newton Prep is academically ambitious. That does not mean to say we reduce their educational experience down to slavishly slogging through practice papers but it does mean that we have the ‘best schools in our sights - whether that be a London day school or a boarding school well beyond the limits of the M25. The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum is based upon the national guidelines for the Early Years Foundation Stage which incorporates seven areas of learning through three main characteristics of effective learning: playing and exploring, active learning, and creating and thinking critically. Prime areas are Personal, Social, and Emotional Development, Communication, and Language and Physical Development, and the Specific areas are Literacy, Mathematics, Expressive Arts and Design, and Understanding the World. Alongside learning the basics of literacy and numeracy, the children develop skills and interests across a broad spectrum of enriching and exciting experiences. Most importantly, children begin their social journey - an adventure that involves building positive relationships with the adults and peers within the setting, learning and achieving through play and focused work with caring and professional practitioners. Throughout the Early Years Foundation Stage, we understand that each child is unique. Children are engaged in whole class, small group, and individual activities which are tailored to their learning needs. Activities are planned by the staff around topic themes and the interests of the children and their families. We incorporate cultural and religious festivals that are of significance to our families. The curriculum is flexible so that it embraces significant developments in each child’s school and home life such as the birth of a sibling, a holiday, or moving house. Planning is reviewed daily to ensure the best opportunities for the development of each child. In Year 1 we have a full-time teaching assistant in each class and in Year 2 we have two full-time teaching assistants who divide their time equally between all four classes. The role of the teaching assistant is to support the class teacher in providing pastoral care and the curriculum. In Key Stage 1, we teach through topics, allowing us to provide an exciting and cohesive curriculum, using a cross-curricular approach. The children have lessons with subject specialist teachers in PE, French, Music, ICT and, in Year 2, Art also. From Year 1, we begin to set the children for maths informally, in addition to differentiating within all subjects. Sets in mathematics are called maths clubs and are flexible. We offer extra support to children who require further consolidation or extension of skills learned in the classroom. Children enjoy a wide variety of extra-curricular activities. As part of the weekly program, teachers provide clubs for Traditional Games, Construction, Origami, Art and Sewing, and Needlework. Ballet, Tap, Judo, tennis, gymnastics, yoga, chess, and many other activities are available as paid extras. In the Upper School, we aim to create a vibrant learning environment in which all children are allowed to develop and flourish. We provide outstanding opportunities throughout the Upper School in all pursuits: academic, creative, physical, and social. We take a great deal of pride in our community and enjoy sharing in each other’s many and varied successes. As a school, we encourage independence and aim to ensure that all members of our school feel that they are valued and respected as individuals. By using subject specialist teachers throughout the curriculum we fire the children’s imagination and inspire them to be creative, adventurous, and committed in their learning. We promote inquiry and initiative and ensure that they can enjoy the many and varied opportunities on offer in our purpose-built, state-of-the-art facilities. Throughout the school, you will find motivated children, enjoying their learning in wonderful facilities. We have high expectations of all of our boys and girls and ensure that they receive all of the support they need to achieve their potential. We aim to provide the highest possible level of pastoral care so that each child flourishes at Newton Prep. By working closely with the family, we provide an individual experience, tailored to a child’s needs and designed to bring out the very best in every child. View full school

      5. The Port Elizabeth Technical High School was first opened at the Technical College in Russel Road on 17 February 1936. At that stage, there were only 12 learners in classes ranging from Grade 9 to 11. The hours of attendance were from 09:00 to 17:00. Our talented and dynamic teaching staff ensure that high educational standards are achieved, incorporating traditional values and life skills. An exciting choice of sport and cultural activities is offered – our goal is to develop the full individual potential of each pupil. The school has produced young minds with a love of learning, sport, and the environment, ready to fulfill their roles as valued members of society. Even though technical education has been a reality for several years, many people are completely ignorant or confused about technical education. A widespread belief that learners who struggle in an ordinary school will find a technical school easier because the subjects are “easier” and the learner can “work with his/her hands” still prevails. Parents who become despondent when their child does not make satisfactory progress at school are sometimes misinformed and persuaded to enroll their child in a technical school despite the following realities: In Grade 12, learners in a technical school write the same external exams as those in ordinary schools. The same pass requirements and standards must be maintained. The course has a strong Mathematical bias and a learner at a technical school needs to have an above-average Mathematical aptitude. The “good with his hands” argument is just as deceptive. Very little time is spent in the work centers and a learner can only earn minimum marks through his/her manual dexterity. These facts must be borne in mind when deciding to enroll a child in a technical school. This school aims to develop its learners, to the best of their potential so that they may become worthy members of society. A balanced education is thus offered in all spheres: academic, technical, physical, cultural, and pastoral. The vital role of the family unit and the influence of the Christian-based principles of the society which this school serves are acknowledged in the achievement of this goal. The school commits itself to cultivate young adults of whom we all can be proud. In Grade 8 and 9, learners follow the same curriculum as learners in any school in South Africa. However, in preparation for the NSC subjects in Grades 10 to 12, training in Engineering Graphics and Design is included in the curriculum. The choice a learner makes in Grade 9 regarding the subjects to be taken in Grade 10 for the National Senior Certificate course of study is very important. If a learner chooses without thinking very carefully about it, it can ruin his/her chances of furthering his/her career after school. At Newton, we offer various sport codes, including rugby, cricket, netball, athletics, tennis, and soccer. Because winning is not everything, our passionate coaches focus on teaching good sportsmanship, great character, discipline, and punctuality. The learners enjoy competing both individually and in teams. Although learners at Newton prefer a more “technical” way of life, they are very creative with lyrics, poetry, charity, and music. Our culture clubs include rap&poetry, charity&community, choir, debate, dance, land service, and blood donations. View full school
      6. This sense of wonder and curiosity to discover and learn about our universe, not just that of atoms, stars, and galaxies but also that of the living, of the mind, and the complex social, economic, and political structures we have created unwittingly, this sense led Newton to realize, and he, in turn, taught us to see that all systems and structures are governed not by whimsical supernatural forces that are beyond our minds and out of our control but by rules and laws that can be discovered and used to create technologies. This sense is what we, the founders, have always dreamt of encouraging in all children. We, therefore, thought of establishing schools that will nurture it. But we needed a curriculum that is exciting and promotes a life-long love for learning. This curriculum should also be dynamic in its response to the never-ending changes in the world and our perception of it. We believe we have found what we were looking for it is the National Curriculum of England and Wales (NCEW) which is popularly known as the British Curriculum! It is one of the best available in the world that is capable of imparting to our students the quality of learning and skills they need to transform our world, not just for the short-sighted good of themselves but for the sustainable good of the whole Earth. We have adopted the British Curriculum, not by default of having a school that should follow a particular curriculum the contrary is the truth. We have established our first school to actualize, to the best of our abilities, the British Curriculum! We believe that such a curriculum, when applied with dedication and creativity, gives a child one of his/her best chances to develop into a well-rounded free human being, who will be best equipped to live and flourish in our modern world. We believe that education is one of man's greatest transformative powers that needs to be honed and improved all the time. At our schools, we strive to improve continuously. This has earned the trust of many parents living in Qatar and made us grow in twelve years from a humble beginning of a small school in two villas with about 200 students in 2006 to nine campuses with a family of around 10,000 students in 2018. Our last words are to parents. No one is more eager and passionate about your child's education than you. We, therefore, invite you to help your child's school to continuously improve by being engaged and active with your feedback through the many channels that are made available, be it the Parents & Teachers Association (PTA), the Parents Affairs Officer (PAO) or the teachers themselves who are always available to parents to eagerly discuss their concerns. 7. Newton British School was first opened on the 14th September 2008 with 135 children, 20 staff, and 10 classes. Now we have grown to just over 700 children, 33 classes, and 87 staff members. The curriculum we follow, as with other Newton Schools, is the National Curriculum for England and Wales. We also have an Arabic department that has a very important role in promoting the Arabic culture through the teaching of the Arabic language and Islamic Studies. At Newton British School we want to equip our children not only with academic skills but skills to make them good citizens to have respect for the environment and the society in which they live. In essence, skills to make them good citizens of the future so they can make responsible choices that have a positive impact on the people and environment in which they live. Education does not stop once the school day has finished, indeed, it is a lifelong journey and as teachers, we have a moral responsibility to give the children in our charge the opportunity to make informed choices by being inquisitive, reflective, imaginative, cooperative, truthful and honest. For any school to function properly, we need the cooperation and partnership of parents, and here at Newton British School, we pride ourselves on our unique family atmosphere. Where parents are free to discuss issues at any time and where everybody’s opinion is valued and listened to in an atmosphere of mutual respect. They are given time to develop their speaking and listening skills and to become confident in their reading and writing abilities. Mathematics is practical so that children can see how problems are solved and how important mathematics is in their everyday lives. There is an emphasis on children underst\nding how things work and on finding different ways to solve problems.

Newton Country Day educates young women to assume leadership and to take the initiative in the School and the world. The School promotes the hope, zeal, compassion, and commitment necessary to meet a complex society's challenges. The entire educational program has as its end the formation of balanced and self-assured women who possess the courage and confidence to respond generously, competently, and responsibly to the demands of their lives and the world's needs. Independent yet united in spirit and purpose, the international community of the Sacred Heart community believes in educating the whole child and preparing her to live fully and wisely. At the core of the Sacred Heart education are the Five Goals, principles that express the intentions and hopes of our 200-year tradition. Newton Country Day School's culture and identity are bound inextricably to the vision outlined in the Goals of Sacred Heart Schools. They awaken and spur our faith, intellect, social action, community building, and personal growth. Whether planning a community service project, tackling an academic challenge, or supporting one another, Newton students and faculty frame their choices and actions under the Five Goals. When faced with challenges, they give us the language and focus on understanding and prevailing. During their years at Newton Country Day School, students measure their actions in the light of the Five Goals until doing so becomes a habit of being. By the time our students graduate, these principles have become an internal well of wisdom and strength from which they draw throughout their lives.

      15. Here at Newton British, we have over 700 children and over 60 nationalities. We have a rich cultural diversity, where we learn in an atmosphere of respect and tolerance. We have a rich and varied curriculum that is designed to give equal opportunities to every child. To paraphrase a well-known slogan, ‘Every child does matter. An international community of learners striving for excellence and celebrating success We aim to provide the highest quality of education possible for all our students. In doing so, we aim to positively encourage each student to achieve academic excellence, enjoy diversity, develop critical thinking skills and become lifelong learners and responsible citizens. To achieve this, we will provide a diverse education in a safe, supportive environment that promotes positive discipline and self-motivation. We will provide and maintain a trusting and caring atmosphere where teaching and learning are meaningful and developed. We will work in partnership with our staff, students, parents, and the wider community to achieve our vision.
