Our vision as an apostolic and prophetic school is to equip children(Ephesians 4:11,12). There are several areas that we will focus on. First, children will be equipped for their work of ministry. Each child has a destiny in Christ and a purpose in the kingdom of God. Every child has a ministry whether in the church or the secular realm. Every child’s future requires preparation, training, and equipping. Children need to understand how to live according to godly standards in all aspects of life. Children also need practical knowledge, understanding, and wisdom of pertinent subject matter. We find in Luke 2:52 that Jesus Himself grew in wisdom, stature, and in favor wi…

Chateau des Bambini simply means “Children’s Castle” in Italian. Dr. Maria Montessori is the first physician and educator who opened the first Montessori school in Rome. She spent many years observing and working with children, and her method captured my interest. I have raised 3 children, and during that time, English nurseries/preschools and Montessori kindergartens were very difficult to find. This is why I decided to open a school of my own. Our school has had over 2,000 graduates varying from 40 different nationalities. Most of them attended universities at well-known schools abroad such as the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, etc. I am truly amazed that up to now, most…

Preschool is designed for a child’s first step to independence. It’s the first exciting experience for both mothers and children. Children will start to think by themselves and also learn how to develop skills between the right choice and the wrong choice. Being immersed in an English environment will help develop a child’s adaptation to thinking and communicating in English. For preschoolers, “Playing is Learning.” In the last 18 years, scientists have discovered more about our brains than ever before. A baby's brain is already growing during pregnancy. For the first three years of a child's life, the brain is continuing to grow. Up to the age of seven, a child's bra…

J’s International School was founded by two mothers whose children, a boy and a girl, were close friends, both attending international schools in Japan. The boy, Jason, was studying to become a math teacher when he tragically lost his life in an accident in the U.S.A. The girl continued her studies to become an early childhood educator. Together the mothers felt that establishing a school for early childhood development would be a meaningful tribute to Jason’s life as well as the girl’s love of teaching. The two mothers combined their many years of experience in child-rearing and teaching English to create J’s – a school named after the first letter of their children's na…

The original Gregg school was founded in Tokyo in 1964 as an English language school, one of only a few of its kind at that time. The English school was so popular among the business community that it soon outgrew the small facility in Yoyogi. To accommodate the growing student body, the school then moved to a larger space in Jiyugaoka. The present property in Jiyugaoka was acquired in 1972 and has been home to Gregg ever since. GiS (Gregg International School), a part of Gregg school, was started in 1986. It is exciting to now see Gregg alumni returning to GiS as parents of some of our students. It is our pride and joy that several of our teachers have been Gregg fa…

As the global IT boom reached Japanese shores, Indian IT professionals led the charge. It was 1999 and nearly 17,000 of them had relocated here. But because of the high cost of living and even higher tuition costs at local international schools, most of these young engineers left behind their wives and children in India. A few lucky ones enrolled their children in local Japanese and international schools, but many grappled with a language handicap or missed an entire school year when relocating back to India. The time was ripe for an Indian school. And so, on August 15, 2004, India International School in Japan opened its doors with a student body of 27. Today, that …
