  6. Develop a caring, compassionate, and understanding of the Christian community of learning. Develop a desire to attain excellence in all fields of endeavor. Instill in students Christian values and attitudes, thus allowing them to take a responsible leadership position within the community. Foster initiative, good judgment, and servant leadership in all students. Create a positive Christian school environment that will allow the best possible education for our care students. A leading national and international expert on gender and education, Professor Judith Gill's (School of Education, University of South Australia) research clearly shows that the differences within boys' groups and the differences within girls' groups are much more significant than the differences between boys and girls. The individual difference, rather than gender difference, is critical. Success in all fields of endeavor within a school is due to the successful interaction between highly committed teachers, good quality leadership, and equally supportive parents. These conditions are the hallmarks of all good schools, regardless of their gender composition. At Georges River Grammar, we deal successfully with the different needs of each student. Professor John Hattie's research supports this theory. (The University of Melbourne's Graduate School of Education.) He discovered from 180,000 studies and over 50 million students worldwide that separating students by gender has little positive effect on their learning outcomes. The Primary School is a lively, caring community where students enjoy learning and exploring the world around them. It is a welcoming, Christian environment where personalities grow, and lifelong friendships are made. Our Positive Behaviour Support program (PBS) helps each student consider their behavior and attitudes through a continuum of expectations: We are Safe, We are Learners, We are Caring, We are Respectful. These ideals apply to every aspect of life as a GRG student. Our students learn the value of forgiveness and the critical step of moving on from hurt and conflict. The aim is for students to grow into happy, enthusiastic learners. Students attend weekly Chapel services and weekly assemblies where academic achievement and excellence in behavior is acknowledged with awards. Our focus on learning at Georges River Grammar is sparked by the skills and abilities that the individual student brings into the classroom and aims to prepare students for the dynamic and challenging world they will enter post-school. Teaching and learning programs must address the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) mandatory curriculum; however, it is essential to develop students' capacity and motivation to learn. Through our holistic approach, we encourage students to take responsibility for their learning to appreciate the importance of learning as a lifetime commitment. Programs also need to focus on developing leadership skills, problem-solving skills, creative thinking, digital literacy, and other enterprise skills that will serve the students well in the future of their choosing, whether it be engaging in further study or entering the workforce. Our academic programs are designed to be complemented by the initiatives in the Student Wellbeing and Cocurricular Programs to best serve students at a time when students are undergoing significant changes in their physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development. 7. Welcome to Trinity School at River Ridge! Trinity students come to join our community of learners from many different areas of the Twin Cities and various educational environments. As you explore our website, you will learn about our curriculum and some of the traditions that knit our community together. Under our dynamic faculty leadership, students grow into mature learners who are curious, articulate, and sound thinkers. Our curriculum and school culture allow every student to develop their many unique gifts and talents so that, upon graduation, they are prepared to continue learning. We begin each day with prayer before setting about a rich, engaging course of study inspired by a classical model for education and a desire to equip students to serve God and neighbor as mature, thoughtful adults in the modern world. Especially as they grow older, young people want to be a part of something that matters. At Trinity School, parents, students, faculty and staff are all united by the high ideals of the Trinity School mission: The mission of Trinity Schools is to impart basic ordered knowledge about the world and to train students in necessary intellectual skills and qualities of mind so that they might be of use to God in the wise care and governance of his creation and the building of his kingdom. We accomplish this by establishing a culture marked by the discovery of truth, the practice of goodness, the creation of beauty, and the development of intellectual and aesthetic habits of mind. Trinity School is a community of learners characterized by the rigorous exploration of reality, the free and disciplined exchange of ideas, and active participation in the fine arts. Trinity School's clarity and consistency concerning our education philosophy will help your child with an unparalleled learning experience. Grounded in the Christian tradition and borrowing from many classical education elements, the school has a clear vision for the role of education in the life of human beings. We believe human beings were created to pursue the truth, practice goodness, and create beauty and not merely to know but to love. This vision shapes everything your child will experience and the kind of learner they will become. Many factors influence a family's choice of school, but an educational institution's essential feature is its academic program. Will the program inspire your child with a vision of greatness? Will it equip him or her for whatever comes next? Will it provide a foundation not only for college and career but also for life? At Trinity School, we believe our academic program answers "Yes" to all these questions. Our educational philosophy begins with understanding your child as a young person full of wonder, curious about the world, and eager to learn. And our curriculum is designed to answer the most critical question a school should ask about outcomes: "What should educated adults in our time know?" As educators, our task is to match up your child's natural desire for wisdom with the dispositions, skills, and knowledge crucial to human thriving. Our curriculum puts students on track to tackle challenging subjects like calculus and physics. Your child will graduate, having read and discussed original texts by authors like Augustine, Aquinas, Descartes, and Hegel. And everyone participates in our performance-based arts program, acting in plays, performing in concerts, and entering their work in juried art shows. Trinity School's program is rightly ambitious, but the curriculum's pace is designed to allow for wonder and engagement. Our commitment to avoiding a "teach to the test" mentality means that your child's questions and concerns will guide his or her investigation, and small class sizes assure that teachers can adjust to meet individual students' needs–whether that be for additional help or a more significant challenge. 10. At Saddle River Day School we are passionately committed to preparing our students not only for college, but for life beyond formal education. We maintain small class sizes and excellent student-teacher ratios so that we can help each child realize his or her potential with confidence. We challenge each student as an individual, knowing that every person acquires skills and maturity at a different pace. At each step of growth the mind needs to encounter ideas, demands and expectations to continue a trajectory to intellectual excellence. We help our students engage in intellectual risk taking at all ages by caring deeply for them as the individuals they are and by nurturing their souls as well as challenging their minds. As a parent, you weigh so many factors in selecting the right school for your child. You’re likely considering how the educational journey will shape them as a person and how you can ensure they receive the best possible chance for lifelong success. You also want to see your child thriving next fall: stimulated by what they’re learning, surrounded by new friends, performing at a high academic level and flourishing in the hands of excellent faculty. If you’re like many of our parents, you hope to find a cutting-edge learning environment that is financially within your family’s reach. And you also seek a school with an inclusive culture that challenges your student’s unique abilities and instills in them a sense of self and purpose. At Saddle River Day School, we offer nothing less. SRDS inspires students to think, solve and achieve—in academics and in life. Our students thrive at top colleges like Columbia, Northwestern and Tufts because they have what it takes to succeed. We are passionately committed to preparing our students not only for college, but for full—and fulfilling—lives of consequence. We inspire each child to achieve personal and academic excellence and to become a caring and ethical contributor to society. In order for us to fulfill our mission, we believe that it is necessary for us to: Recognize and develop the individual talents and gifts of each child. Ensure a complete education, which involves a combination of core content, basic skill development, conceptual understanding of academic material, and the development of the integrity and skills to make individual, ethical decisions. Articulate and maintain the highest academic, aesthetic, athletic and behavioral standards. Maintain small classroom environments. Teach and integrate technology into the daily curriculum in a relevant manner. Encourage intellectual risk taking and a commitment to lifelong learning on the part of children and adults as they grow into a community of learners. Prepare students to serve the needs of their school community and the community-at-large. The technology program at Saddle River Day School supports our mission: “To inspire each child to achieve personal and academic excellence and to become a caring and ethical contributor to society”. Student outcomes and experiences are at the core of our decisions regarding purchases and implementing new software and hardware. Learning doesn't rely on technology at SRDS it is just one tool that can be used and integrated in the established curriculum. We are careful to ask the question - "Does this (tech tool whether it be an iPad or specific program) help the student learn?" as we integrate technology and computer skills into core lessons across the curriculum in all divisions. Although technology is just one tool that is integrated into the curriculum, it can be powerful and support academic excellence. Laptops, microphones, video cameras, online resources and iPad apps can help teachers differentiate their content delivery methods to reach every student. Students, in turn, have various vehicles to demonstrate their understanding, and are able to choose the most effective ways to show what they know. Technology at SRDS engages students visually, cognitively, emotionally, socially and ethically in facets of the academic context. The technology program empowers students by giving them professional tools to use, as well as leadership and creative opportunities such as producing and broadcasting their own news shows across campus and organizing tech demonstrations for parents and students. Students from K-12th grade practice their digital literacy skills and build their digital fluency through the use of various digital devices. They use these tools to gather, evaluate, organize and apply information they collect. Students use critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research, manage projects, solve problems, and make informed decisions using digital resources. They use digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively. Students at SRDS also use technology to explore, understand and communicate with communities outside their own. Whether it is an interactive SMARTboard lesson illustrating a concept in AP Biology, practicing geography skills with a class in another state through a mystery Skype or watching a student’s hieroglyph design become an object printed on a 3D printer, technology can help build connections from textbook to real life and from campus to anywhere in the world. In this way, technology also supports the idea of becoming caring and ethical contributors to society. Students and teachers may choose to use Google Tools to collaborate with each other and organize community service events or use video to capture and communicate what is important in their lives. The technology program at SRDS relies on students, teachers and curriculum to guide growth and integration. View full school
  11. Our own and Government buses serve the school site, currently bringing students from Echuca, Moama, Kyabram, and surrounding areas. Our Playgroup (A Time to Play) is on Wednesday mornings during the school term from 9.30 am to 11.30 am for children up to 5 years of age who are accompanied by their parents or careers. Children enjoy a wide array of toys, crafts, and activities to learn through, and it is also a pleasant environment for parents and careers to connect.
  12. The Margaret River Montessori School was established in 1992, founded by Sue Gaunt and Di Littlewood. They shared a vision of a school that would nurture the environment and decided that the educational system developed by Dr. Maria Montessori offered a highly comprehensive approach to child development. The school opened its doors to a 3-6 class of 14 children in 1993 at the Old Baptist Church in Tunbridge Street Margaret River. Enrolments quickly grew, and in 1997 following a great deal of effort and commitment, a new site was procured, 4-6 Clarke Road Margaret River. 2010 saw a school hall, library, and another classroom under the Federal Government's Building Education Revolution program. In 2013 we proudly celebrated our 20th Birthday (the same year that Montessori education celebrated 100 years!) with a luncheon held at Voyager Estate and a whole school celebration Sundowner. Our school is set on 2 acres, nestled amongst tall trees and natural wetlands and bushland. The setting reflects our love of and interest in nature and our focus on harmony and peace. Students enjoy bountiful outdoor spaces with the right balance of grass, trees, sand, hardcourts, bare earth, and shaded spaces. Our classrooms are openly spacious with lots of windows for natural light and ventilation. Each is equipped with an age-appropriate kitchen. All classrooms provide an outdoor learning area as well. Today we have approximately 130 enrolments and continue to offer an outstanding Montessori educational program. Above all, we are committed to providing an education for life connecting with the environment and the wider world. Our students are aged from 3 to 12 years. We have students attending from as far north as Busselton and south from Augusta. Many of our students use the School Bus service. All students have the right to feel safe. Margaret River Montessori School is committed to safeguarding and promoting children and young people's safety, welfare, and well-being. It expects all staff, volunteers, and visitors to share this commitment. This commitment extends beyond academic success to intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development. Our school recognizes students' fundamental right to be protected from neglect and physical, emotional, or sexual maltreatment, whether at home, at school, or in the community. Everyone working in our school is responsible for the care and protection of the students. All staff is responsible for reporting neglect or emotional, psychological, physical, or sexual abuse. All staff needs to be able to recognize the indicators of abuse and neglect in order to take appropriate action. The School Council, the Principal, and all staff members must protect students in circumstances where abuse or neglect is suspected or when allegations of maltreatment or assault are made against employees, students, or other people in the community. MRMS has adopted the Keeping Safe Protective Behaviors Curriculum materials designed for each level of schooling. This comprehensive, realistic, and age-appropriate curriculum provides students with the opportunity to develop the essential knowledge, attitudes, and skills that will enable them to manage their safety, report abuse, understand the power in relationships and develop protective strategies, including seeking help. Staff is trained in the use of the curriculum materials. The safety, protection, and well-being of our students is our highest priority. We value working together with our Parents, Carers, and School Community to ensure this. Situated close to town and surrounded by bush on Clarke Road, Margaret River, the school's picturesque outlook is a delightful setting for the outstanding Montessori educational program it delivers. As an Independent school offering quality education, we are part of the global Montessori system and have close ties to other Australian Montessori schools, particularly those in Western Australia. Also, we hold membership through the Montessori Australia Foundation and to the Association of Independent Schools of WA (AISWA). We are outward-looking with healthy environmental and peace outcomes and work in partnership with local community groups. We have after-school sports and cultural activities program and guests to provide a wide range of exciting topics to motivate and challenge our students. Margaret River Montessori School is committed to safeguarding and promoting children and young people's safety, welfare, and well-being. It expects all staff, volunteers, and visitors to share this commitment. Above all, we are committed to providing an education for life that combines and supports all intelligence and integrates academic learning with social/emotional learning and connecting with the environment and the wider world.
  13. To provide lifetime learning skills, To promote and facilitate academic excellence, To develop the whole child, We believe that how children learn is as important as what children learn.
