About Me

  1. Your children are encouraged to develop their gifts and abilities to their fullest potential by teachers who care for your child. We provide affordable, quality education for all families, emphasizing Christian values within a caring Christian environment. Our fully trained Christian teachers deliver a comprehensive curriculum approved by the Board of Studies Teaching and educational standards (BOSTES). At the Pacific Coast, we are passionate about working together to care for others in need. As we care for others as part of our national and international communities, we participate in the mission. Working together in mission challenges us to think outside of ourselves and think more broadly about the broader communities we are a part of. The mission is national and international service to our community. Students and staff participate in serving other communities. Each year, students from Year Five to Ten attend a mission trip. This includes visiting other Christian schools and communities to serve them in meaningful and supportive ways. In the process of this service, student’s hearts begin to be transformed. As part of this process, service is critical in shaping how children view themselves within a community. Service enables a child to understand who they are ‘being’ and how they ‘belong’ to a community. Serving enables children to work with others as part of a team. Working in a team teaches a child that they have strengths and weaknesses. Each child is gifted with their own ability to contribute to the team, and others have strengths they do not; this understanding begins to create humility, which leads to empathy. When individuals understand their strengths and weaknesses, they develop an understanding of who they are within a community. Franklin Roosevelt says, “We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.” Some of our destinations include Northern Territory, Western Australia, Goondiwindi, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, India, Nepal, Hong Kong, and Cambodia. 2. We recognize these on Social Media pages and through the Website portal, teacher emails, and newsletters for parents of enrolled students. You will often find stories on awarded students and the College in local and state newspapers. We update our several Honours Boards in the College's foyer every year to celebrate the achievements of that year group and inspire emerging generations. They are too numerous to mention all of them here, but here are some of our students' more recent achievements. The College held its first academic year in 1985, under the original name of Maranatha Christian College. The ambitious initiative got off the ground through the leadership and support of Rockingham Baptist Church. The original vision was to provide Christ-centered education to families in the Rockingham region, and this still forms the foundation of our vision today. SCBC is aligned with the Baptist denomination, which beliefs in one true God: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The teachings of the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments form the doctrinal base. Families do not need to have the Christian faith to attend the College but must support the Christian ethos of the school. View full school
  3. We provide opportunities for students to be involved in a range of activities in addition to their studies. Every year we run a significant Outdoor Education experience in which all students from kindergarten to year 11 are involved in a program of activities or educational visits. We are a young school but are already establishing traditions that we will build as we continue to grow. We are confident that Sapphire Coast Anglican College is justifiably seen as a center of excellence – indeed, the place to be in our region. Sapphire Coast Anglican College is an excellent place for your child to learn and grow. Our small class sizes provide ideal educational setting attention to detail is paramount, and the results speak for themselves. We are committed to providing an excellent education for all our students. We believe that to nurture and grow a holistic person, it is necessary to educate the mind, body, and spirit. We achieve this through well thought out and thorough programs of curricular and co-curricular activities in which the whole college community participates. Sapphire Coast Anglican College is a school under the Anglican Diocese of Canberra. We welcome people of all faiths and are committed to living a life based on the Christian model with Anglican traditions. Sapphire Coast Anglican College, which is in the country but still close to the edge of town, has been blessed with beautiful facilities, and this is ably matched by the quality and commitment of the staff who work here. This website will, we trust, help you understand further what Sapphire Coast Anglican College stands for, its culture, and the wide range of activities available. Sapphire Coast Anglican College offers comprehensive educational programs encompassing the full range of key learning areas from pre-kindergarten to year 12. We provide an innovative, purposeful, and enjoyable learning environment where students' individual needs and abilities are encouraged and nurtured. Problem-solving approaches and skills in information and communication technology are integral to teaching programs. The curriculum is firmly embedded in the NSW Board of Studies' requirements with a bias towards the traditional mainstream academic courses. Electives begin at year eight. These reflect this bias while maintaining a balance between practical and theoretical studies. At Stage 6 (Years 11 and 12), the emphasis towards university entrance is reflected in that there are no courses offered that do not contribute to the ATAR (the basis upon which university entrance is determined). Vocational Education Training (VET) courses are also possible. At this time, only hospitality and tourism are offered on-site, but TAFE courses and in-school apprenticeships can be integrated into a student's timetable, although additional costs do apply. 4. The West Coast University of Applied Science (FHW) was founded in 1993 by farsighted entrepreneurs and politicians in the region. It started operating in a rented room and was able to bid its first graduates farewell in 1997. 2000, the University moved into its newly constructed building in the east of Heide. In 2008 there were about 400 freshmen students, so that in 2009 there were already around 1,200 students enrolled at the FHW. Within the Higher Education Pact framework, the FHW has taken the most extensive package of potential students in the State. This has led to more than 1,500 students being enrolled for the Winter Semester 2014/15. Brochure "20 Years FHW" The FHW began the changeover to the new degree courses "Bachelor" and "Master's" in 2004. Thus, our University was the first in Schleswig-Holstein to complete the Bologna Process. Simultaneously, the FHW pushed for more internationalization: Today, our University has contact with more than 20 universities ranging across all of the continents, giving it an extreme global position. This primarily benefits the students, but the West Coast region also profits. On 28 February, the former Minister-President of Schleswig-Holstein, Heide Simonis, embedded a certificate in the West Coast Uni's foundations during the ceremony for laying the cornerstone. This certificate programmatically formulates the regional-political aim behind the founding of the University as follows: "From a regional-political point of view, the West Coast is gaining a new technological focal point for promoting technology transfer and the improvement of the competitiveness of enterprises in the region." The FHW reaffirmed this goal in 2012 and signed a cooperation agreement with the four West Coast districts - Pinneberg, Steinburg, Dithmarschen, and North Friesland - under the patronage of the Lower Elbe-West Coast Business Association. This contract describes how the FHW has fulfilled its obligations and how the districts can help promote "their" public University. In a strategy process in 2014/2015, the members of the FHW updated their mission statement from 2001 and, with the joint signing of the target agreement with the State at the beginning of 2016, have also bindingly set their strategic orientation for the period 2016 – 2025. In doing so, the regional political mandate was also updated: "From a regional political perspective, the FHW is an economic and technical focal point for promoting academic knowledge transfer. At the same time, it is a higher education institution to improve the competitiveness of companies, institutions, and other business entities in the western part of Schleswig-Holstein." The further development of the FHW is defined by the target agreement with the State for the years 2009 - 2013. "The West Coast University of Applied Science is particularly committed to a mutual exchange process with the business community, especially in the region Lower Elbe - West Coast. It intends to reinforce its emphasis on Management and Tourism in the Commercial Faculty and Automation and Electronics in the Technical Faculty. Furthermore, it will continue to expand the interdisciplinary course Management and Technology over the coming years and adapt it to meet the changing conditions that companies face. It was 1985 when businesses in the Dithmarschen and Nord Friesland Districts produced the so-called "West Coast Paper" under the Chamber of Commerce (IHK) auspices Flensburg. A central demand was establishing a branch of the Flensburg University of Applied Science on the structurally weak West Coast. Two years later, the Dithmarschen District declared the founding of a University of Applied Science (UAS) to be a strategic development objective the District Administrator, Hans-Jakob Tiessen, subsequently entered into negotiations with the Vice-Chancellor's office of the Flensburg University of Applied Science concerning the establishment of a local branch of the University. On 4 January 1988, Prof. Dr. Hans Mueller von der Haegen (Flensburg UAS) finally presented a university location Heide/West Coast concept. Almost one year later, the Senate of his University formally decided on a university development plan that called for the founding of a branch of the Flensburg UAS in Heide. The Township of Heide set the course for the University's establishment by having the Magistrate set aside a convenient, sufficiently large block of land in the east of Heide to settle the UAS. 11 September 1991 is seen as a milestone in the history of the FHW, as on this day, the State Government decided to found a University of Applied Sciences on the West Coast with the long-term aim of providing 1000 study places, with 500 study places being created in the initial establishment phase. At the same time, the Cabinet declared Heide to be the location of the new University. The founding committee's constituent meeting, consisting of external experts and members of the Flensburg UAS, was opened by State Secretary Dr. Peter Kreyenberg on 19 May 1992. The first four professors' tender was placed in the weekly newspaper "Die Zeit" half a year later. Finally, on 20 September 1993, the time had come: the study programs began for 66 first-year students in Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The FHW began its operation in rental rooms in Rungholt Straße before moving into its new building in Fritz-Thiedemann-Ring 20 in September 2000. Since then, the FHW has been continuously growing and has been able to use small setbacks to boost. In 2002, Mechanical Engineering had to be moved to Flensburg UAS because the State decided to consolidate courses. However, its removal led to promising new course programs emerging: Management and Technology, International Tourism Management, and Economics and Law. View full university
  5. Welcome to West Coast Steiner School, Nollamara. We are an independent primary school in Perth's northern suburbs and ten minutes from the Indian Ocean. We offer education from Playgroup to Class 6. Working from the indications of Rudolf Steiner, we strive to educate the whole being of each child in head, heart, and hands. We envision this holistic education set within a community guided by goodness, beauty, and truth. Further, we seek to plant the seeds for our students to enter the changing world with purpose, as self-directed adults, with a lifelong love of learning, intellectually and spiritually free, socially responsible, and emotionally balanced. Our vision highlights our purpose to provide a meaningful education that engages your child's "head, heart, and hands" within a robust and vibrant school community: Creating a warm, welcoming learning environment. Holistic learning, engaging the head, heart, and hands. Nurturing respect for self, others, and nature. Building confidence through a growth mindset. Developing the ability to persist and complete tasks. Dynamic and artistic teaching of academic content: math, literacy, languages, history, and earth sciences. Learning through the senses: strings program, fine handwork, drawing, painting, sculpture, and woodwork. Specialist movement programs: Bothmer and Eurythmy. West Coast Steiner School is committed to being a Child Safe Organisation, taking a preventative and participatory stance on child protection issues and promoting a child-safe environment. At West Coast Steiner School, we believe that the Steiner educational philosophy helps guide children towards finding their authentic voice, developing their moral capacities, and nurturing their potential. We are committed to educating children and parents alike so that together we can build the next generation of balanced, creative, and socially responsible adults equipped with purpose and meaning in their lives. Just over two decades ago, the West Coast Steiner School was established by a group of parents with a shared belief in the Steiner philosophy and the importance of holistic education for their children. We are celebrating more than 20 years of independent schooling and now provide a complete and authentic Steiner educational experience to children from Playgroup to Class 6. Assisting our students to establish for themselves "a life of learning" is a philosophy that represents our purpose as a school, the promise to our students, and the desire of their parents. Our curriculum is holistic, formative, and relevant while also being practical and 'life' based. Its impact is not isolated to the short segment of life that students spend at our school. We believe that its value is much greater than that. We strive to give our students the skills, knowledge, and awareness to thrive as free-thinking, socially committed adults who aspire to become the most accurate possible version of themselves. Commissioned officers in the Coast Guard lead teams of men and women and are continually called on to serve their community, country, and fellow citizens. The Coast Guard is also called upon for critical service in protecting natural resources, maritime mobility (management of maritime traffic, commerce, and navigation), and national defense. At our beautiful campus on the Thames River in New London, Connecticut, the Academy, which is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, provides a four-year Bachelor of Science degree program with a full scholarship. Each year, approximately 200 ensigns (or junior officers) are commissioned during graduation exercises in May. Following graduation, newly commissioned ensigns report for duty aboard cutters and at sector offices in ports nationwide. While the United States Coast Guard is notable as the oldest life-saving service in the world, its roles include more than just maritime safety and security. Graduates of the Academy are obligated to serve five years in the U.S. Coast Guard, though many choose to stay and make a rewarding, life-long career of their maritime military service. 12.

  22. The Pre Kindergarten program runs five days a week and a minimum of two days of attendance per week is required. Students are involved in a variety of play-based learning opportunities targeted at developing their interests along with foundational literacy and numeracy skills and knowledge. The program runs during school hours on school days. Our Pre Kindergarten teacher is supported by a teacher’s assistant, and specialist teachers take the students for music, sport, information technology, and library classes. Teachers assess students regularly. A variety of different methods are used (including tests, assignments, oral work, examinations, practical and excursion activities). Each secondary student is given an overview of the term’s activities for each subject at the beginning of the term. The overview includes an individual subject assessment plan. Primary School reports are compiled after Terms 2 and 4. In between time a student folio of works is presented to the home throughout the term to maintain ongoing parental involvement and communication with the school. Secondary School reports are compiled after Terms 2 and 4. At the end of Term 1 and an interim report is sent home noting the child’s current position. Examinations are conducted for secondary school grades at the end of Terms 2 and 4. Parent nights are held regularly throughout the year to allow for extended home and school discussion of individual student’s progress. Apart from these times, parents should feel free to contact the school for private interviews to discuss their student’s progress at a mutually convenient time.
  23. Our learning community is united in its ethos and expectation that every student will achieve their academic potential and experience a balanced education in an industrious and supportive environment. Established in 1985, Central Coast Grammar School is a non-selective, independent day school for girls and boys from Kindergarten to Year 12, at the heart of our community at Erina Heights on the Central Coast. We're governed by a Board of nine expert volunteers and guided by our strategic plan, Next Generation Teaching and Learning 2015-2020. We've been educating tomorrow's thought leaders, creators, and community achievers since 1985, now under the leadership of our third Headmaster Bill Low since 2008. This is our aspiration for our graduates: ‘Our graduates will be mature and articulate global citizens. They will have maximized their potential and have been exposed to a wide variety of co-curricular activities. They will have developed into confident, caring, and well-balanced young adults. Today we’ve earned our reputation as the flagship educational institution within the Central Coast region. Our mission remains the same: ‘Striving for excellence in all endeavors in a happy, caring, and supportive environment. We attract and develop expert teachers. We work hard on the professional relationships between students, teachers, and parents so that every student can find their place and enjoy learning in a dynamic, orderly, and safe environment. Our learning community is united in our goal for every student to reach their personal and academic potential. An energizing Junior curriculum delivered by specialist teachers inspires curiosity at every step. A wide choice of electives and HSC courses motivate Seniors to explore and extend. Support and extension are on hand from our well-resourced K-12 Learning Support team so every student can achieve their personal best. 25. Our Kindergarten students are provided with 1 or 2 Student Leader' buddies' who provide them with a high level of care and support as these little one's transition to school. Our School Chaplain regularly participates in devotions, Chapel, school excursions, and sporting events. She is well known and highly respected by staff, students, and parents. Student Leaders care for our school facilities as well as the student body. They take leadership positions at Assemblies, Chapel services, school functions, and the school's daily life. "Caught You Being Good" tokens are an excellent incentive for our students to receive a free iceblock from our school canteen. When students are given a token to "post" in our CYBG letterbox, they are encouraged to continue to get "caught" doing the right thing. Work Hard, Be Kind, Show Respect are the three schools "rules" we strive for. We believe that these three simple goals will help us create an environment within which each child is valued, supported, and encouraged to be the best person. View full school
