      About Me

      1. Welcome to the Asia Pacific International School (APIS) - an integral development within the APIIT Education Group (APIIT). Established in 1993 as the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology, APIIT developed an enviable reputation for more than a decade as Malaysia’s premier Higher Education Institution for Technology education and training, before achieving University College status in 2004, resulting in the formation of the Asia Pacific University College of Technology & Innovation (UCTI). UCTI swiftly developed into one of Malaysia’s leading International Universities for Technology, Business and Engineering, which has itself evolved into what is now known as the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU), with its recent attainment of full University status. APIIT, UCTI, and now APU have all shared a common philosophy of transforming young school leavers into qualified, employable professionals, and this is reflected in the consistently high employment rates of its more than 18,000 graduates. As such, the launching of APIS in September 2012 strengthens and extends the APIIT Education Group’s focus on developing young minds, and further reaffirms the Group’s involvement in the Schools sector, which started with the establishment of the APIIT Smart School in 2006. At APIS, we firmly believe that success truly begins with the best education. This certainly starts with the curriculum itself, where we will offer the internationally recognized Cambridge IGCSE Program augmented with a broad range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. With a strong emphasis on technology as an enabler to support learning, APIS will adopt and continuously enhance educational practices to nurture our students and bring out their analytical and innovative thinking capabilities. In achieving the above, the APIS will provide a stimulating environment that allows our students to enjoy the learning experience and excel in their studies. The facilities available at APIS will strongly complement students’ potential where talents are unlocked and accelerated in academia, in the liberal arts, in the sciences, technology, and sports. This great balance between academic and other aspects of education would ultimately provide the student with a comprehensive and holistic nurturing process. The school’s team of qualified and experienced academic staff are being carefully selected to ensure that they can fully address the requirements of the IGCSE curriculum, while at the same time motivate and encourage students through interactive teaching and provide the impetus for students’ confidence building in a conducive atmosphere. APIS will provide the same warm and friendly learning environment that our Smart School is well known for - this is an environment that promotes camaraderie between students and teachers which personifies the ‘one big family’ culture. We truly believe that all these ingredients, coupled with the best international curriculum, will help unlock your child’s true potential and shape them into well-rounded members of society, equipped with the relevant knowledge, competencies, skills, and attitude to successfully contribute to a global community. We are a friendly and happy school with a strong sense of community. Respect, tolerance, creativity, and independent learning are a priority at APIS, as we understand that a good education is about not only exam results, but also the emotional and social development of our children. In addition to a strong academic program, we can offer our children a rich extracurricular calendar, including day and residential trips, after-school clubs, a strong work experience, and a colorful array of school and interschool events designed to develop students at all levels. Through our rich curriculum, we continually seek to discover our children’s interests and strengths and work together in partnership with our parents, through regular communication, to ensure that our students are continually working towards achieving academic excellence, and to achieve their full potential, overcoming any obstacles that may arise in the course of their education. Every member of our school is encouraged each day to actively participate in all school events and activities and to make a positive difference in the lives of those around them. VISION To be the model of a school recognized internationally for our innovative teaching-learning approach to education. MISSION To adopt innovative teaching-learning practices to nurture our children in the creative and enriching learning environment with the knowledge that: the best learning takes place through problem-solving children develop better as they come to understand and know themselves and the world around them we must build on not only their abilities but also on their interest, experiences, and background knowledge children must be equipped with the relevant knowledge, competencies, skills, and attitudes for life in the global community View full school
      2. American Pacific International School (APIS) was created by Kritsanant Palarit and opened for its first academic year in August 1997. Kritsanant’s founding vision was to provide the same opportunities and advantages of a western-style education and boarding program (in a Thai setting), that prepares all students for university-level studies. APIS aims to provide a quality education program for students in Pre Nursery through Grade12, based on international education standards, delivered in the English language through a constructivist approach. The Main Boarding Campus (MBC) was established in 1997, teaching students in Grades 7-10 in a remote setting with both boarding and day school options. This campus has seen many changes over the years, including growth in grade levels to include Grades 1 – 12 and in 2015 the application to become an IBO – Middle Years Program school. In 2000, APIS opened a Kindergarten campus in Chiangmai. This kindergarten campus provided the same mission-driven education for our youngest students in Nursery through Kindergarten 3. In 2009, both campuses adopted the IBO Primary Years Program as a framework for curriculum delivery. In 2014, due to the growth of the Kindergarten campus, a new purpose-built facility was created and now serves students from Pre Nursery (PN) through Grade 5. The new campus is referred to as American Pacific International School Primary (APISP). Today, APIS and APISP host over 400 students across both campuses, PN – Gr. 12 with more than 20 nationalities representing our diverse student population. The school continues to remain as a mission-driven school, focused on internationally-minded, happy, life-long learners. View full school
      3. With the world changing at an incredibly unimaginable speed, our education system seems to not be able to catch up with this acceleration at all. With the coming of the industry 4.0 era where 50% of the work will be replaced by AI and Robots, students of the next generation will be heavily challenged to compete with machines. Traditional content-based curriculum can no longer cater to the needs of the real world. Instead, project and skill-based learning along with technology and research skills will dominate the future world of education. In line with the technological hub of Hsinchu, Pacific American School (PAS), has begun to meet this challenge by implementing the interdisciplinary project and skill-based learning, targeted to solve real-world problems and further integrate design thinking, into our curriculum. While cloud technology and service are a definite reality to our next generation of children, PAS has jump-started the education revolution in Taiwan by implementing innovative educational practices. We have successfully created several coding, data modeling, and robotics courses for our students while advocating a different variety of courses to fulfill the different industries that will come along with the industry. Education has to be diversified to create opportunities for the skill sets needed in different industries rather than traditionally favored professions. With over 100 classes offered, Students at PAS are encouraged to follow their hearts in every crossroad of their lives and every critical phase of decision making, since passion is the driving force behind all decisions, without which any learning and pursuit will not make sense. Passion serves as the energy that keeps PAS and our students going. It is a powerful force supporting us to accomplish tasks our hearts set to do It gives our life meaning, happiness, excitement, anticipation, and also possibilities to the fullest extent. Through many years of dedicated involvement with education, I have formed my belief in this new practice. I believe in creating hands-on opportunities for students I believe in helping students develop skills needed in the professional world of the 21st century I believe that effective learning lies in an interdisciplinary approach with technology. While the world rapidly moves ahead into a new realm, education has to change to cater to those needs, so that our next generation will not be challenged and replaced by AI machines. While our students have been equipped with the skills needed in any phase of their life pursuit, they will have to continue to embrace changes and conquer challenges, using the tools they have acquired at our American school. Hence, no matter what the obstacle will be ahead, they will always be able to handle these obstacles with their creative minds and useful tools. At PAS, all students are encouraged to pay attention and stay aware of what is happening in our world, whether it is new technological development, social and political movements, international relations, economic advancement, in the design and fashion industry, or the hospitality field. They are also encouraged to dream big, apply their creative minds and entrepreneurial spirit, to create and implement new ideas and perspectives so that they can always stand high in this highly competitive and fast-changing world of today. 4. PTC is an acronym for Parents, Teacher, Children. In PTC Pacific International School, education in early childhood has been promoted by parents, teachers, teachers, teachers, parents, teachers, parents, teachers, parents, teachers, parents, teachers, and guardians at the time of human formation up to around age 6 I am educating as a motto to go on. It is a kindergarten of an international school that has English as a language of living that advises parents based on early childhood education the importance of consciously raising children's daily events that become "mental education". To cultivate the ability to draw out and express the ability to greatly influence the development of the early childhood spirit. It is a PTC curriculum that can demonstrate its power hidden in the body. A language is a tool of communication. What is the question of how people who use that language should be? Infants are born in this world with their bodies (limbs) finished, but they are still incomplete. I will gradually create it. First of all, knowing your body, conscious of your life's activities, rules, and manners as human beings are sticking together, and identity will be established. PTC is a 35-year kindergarten focusing on human education. It is desirable to emphasize the ability to walk safely in children's garden buildings, the ability for children to play safely, to observe nature every day, to observe nature, to have few streets of cars, clean air, easy earthquake, and other disaster countermeasures, etc. We have prepared an environment where education is carried out. The first-floor classroom is doing building a framework for earthquake countermeasures. PTC Pacific International School started by the sincere wishes of the parents of the children. It began operation in 1982 until the present. It is a kindergarten located in Setagaya Ward accepting children from 2.5 years old until 6 years old! View full school

      11. The University of Asia and the Pacific is a private, not-for-profit institution of higher learning that offers some of Asia's most outstanding academic programs. All studies at UA&P are grounded in liberal education, which prepares students for their specific specialization by giving them a well-rounded education cultivating genuine intellectual discipline—a prerequisite to acquiring any specialized knowledge. An intrinsic part of education in UA&P is mentoring. The University's interdisciplinary offering of knowledge, skills, and values is reinforced through regular, confidential conversations between students and their mentor. The formation of UA&P students is facilitated by an environment conducive to learning, qualified and dedicated teachers, a superior faculty-to-student ratio, and well-maintained facilities. The University blazes new trails in a tradition of excellence, service, and whole-person education. Faithful to our Credo, we aspire to form "individuals who are professionally competent, creative and enterprising, zealous for the common good, and capable of making free, morally upright choices, and who can thus act as positive agents of change and service to society." While we are continually looking toward the future, we never lose sight of who we are. Our directive is, and will always be, that of unity. With the UA&P motto, UNITAS, we remind ourselves of our desire to achieve unity in many aspects: unity within the university community, unity between faith and reason, and unity between religion and life. It reflects the commitment of everyone in UA&P toward the pursuit of wisdom, which necessarily entails a unity of life. UA&P is home to numerous young talents, award-winning artists, and respected scholars that have come to represent the region internationally. The University's arts and culture scene is continuously made alive by the various theater and art student organizations led by the Center for Student Affairs' Kultura Desk and academic departments of the College of Arts and Sciences. Through its projects and events, the Kultura Desk (working under the Center for Student Affairs) aims to expose students to creative ways of spending their leisure time, promote values through the arts and the significant role that practice in and exposure to the arts can play in one's holistic formation, and provide venues for the development and display of artistic talent in the University community. Kultura aims to be a home for the community's creative talent and the coordinating body for cultural and artistic events within the University. Departments under the College of Arts and Sciences help promote culture and appreciation for the arts and the written word through their activities and programs. The Department of Arts invites known artists, musicians, designers, and performers worldwide to give talks and workshops on their crafts. Besides partnering with galleries, museums, individual artists, and groups, the Department also independently hosts film festivals, exhibits, tours, and concerts. It also establishes the foundation for a refined and critical appreciation of beauty. Among the subjects it offers are Fine Arts, Music, Film and Theater. The Department of English, true to its role of nurturing an understanding of the unity and diversity in the world, organizes interdisciplinary activities featuring talks by personalities from arts, business, social work, the sciences, and politics. It holds the annual English Week in July. Among the courses the Department teaches are Communication Arts and Research Writing. The Buwan ng Wika (Month of Language) activities in August are headed by the Department of Filipino, whose task is to nurture students' communication skills in the country's native language. Among the month's activities are the Sabayang Pagbigkas (choral recitation) competition between high schools all over the country, Filipino parlor games, talks by prominent artists, and performances. The Filipino program makes use of selected works from Philippine literature in teaching courses such as Singing ng Komunikasyon (Arts of Communication), Retorikang Filipino (Filipino Rhetorics), and Panitikang Pilipino (Philippine Literature). The Department of Literature, with its thrust to enable students to enjoy the richness and diversity of written works, hosts the Shakespeare Week in February, which celebrates the genius of the Bard through poetry, monologue, and theatrical performance. The Department also offers courses on classical literature, renaissance literature, medieval literature focusing on Dante Alighieri's work, and modern literature. The University focuses on developing the whole person and combines a breadth of learning and professional specialization in its educational programs. Our students go through a robust liberal education program in their first years at the University. After that, they begin to take subjects in their chosen field of specialization. If they choose a five-year program and meet all its academic requirements, they may graduate with a master's degree in five years. As they take up these various areas of knowledge, the students are trained to look at ideas with a critical eye, an analytical mind, and ethical judgment and understand issues from differing points of view. And as the subjects are taught using a multidisciplinary approach, the students learn to make connections across disciplines and see the big picture while understanding each part's complexity. The liberal arts program also trains students to communicate ideas precisely and persuasively in speech and writing. The first three years' offerings blend perfectly with the last two years of professional skills training. The liberal arts add grace and bearing to professional know-how. The professional training continues using the multidisciplinary approach, which requires students to relate their specialization to the other sciences—a definite advantage in the professional world.
      12. The 1980s witnessed exceptional growth in the Information Technology (IT) Industry. In line with this development, strong demand for IT professionals resulted in computer schools' proliferation. With the sprouting of these schools, concerns over the quality of education came into focus when it was observed that some graduates could not meet the high standards set by business and industry. IBM Philippines, the leading IT supplier in the country, together with SM (Shoemart) Foundation, the number one retail giant in the Philippines, explored the possibility of putting up a computer training institution that would produce high caliber graduates. These exploratory talks are the inception in 1991 of Asia Pacific College (APC), the educational collaboration of these two prominent and highly successful privately-owned corporations. Together with top IBM executives, notably Mr. Ramon Dimacali, former Chairman and General Manager of IBM Philippines, Inc., well-known Filipino educators are APC's founding members: Dr. Paulino Y. Tan, former Executive Vice President of De La Salle University (DLSU) and Computer Consultant for SM Prof. Leonida Africa, Vice President of the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities and former Vice President for Academic Programs at DLSU, and Bro. Andrew Gonzales, former Secretary of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports, former President of DLSU and former President of the Manila Bulletin.

      14. With over 100 years of tradition and history, the Ritsumeikan Academy opened APU in April 2000 as Japan's first genuinely international University. The APU campus is a truly multicultural and multilingual environment with nearly half of the student population made up of international students worldwide and an equally diverse faculty. Furthermore, the unique Japanese/English bilingual education system allows students to develop high levels of language proficiency while also removing the language barrier and making it possible for outstanding young people worldwide to study and earn a degree in Japan. It need not be said, but a university's mission is to be of service to society through education and research. To that end, the institution needs faculty, staff, and students of exceptional quality and drive. To achieve this, we must maintain an environment dedicated to the pursuit and dissemination of knowledge, free from fear and anxiety. This will require that we call upon all of our stakeholders to lend us their strength to achieve these objectives and establish a solid financial foundation. Realizing these goals is the duty of university management. Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University possesses a strong vision looking forward to the year 2030. Under President Korenaga's leadership, the students of this University took the idea of shaping their world to new heights. APU has brought together students, alumni, parents, faculty, and staff to create the "APU2030 Vision". Based on the Declaration on the Occasion of the Opening of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, "APU2030" expresses the direction APU aims to take towards 2030. In our global society of many different cultures and values, conflict and friction are bound to occur. APU strives to cultivate global citizens who will build a peaceful world by understanding and accepting cultural and historical differences. Fostering graduates with these abilities are at the core of APU's ideals of Freedom, Peace, and Humanity International Mutual Understanding and the Future Shape of the Asia Pacific Region.APU Graduates will pursue freedom and peace with a deep respect for human dignity. By acting for the sake of both individuals and society, they can change the world. Individuals who can change the world: Cooperate and overcome conflict through dialog for the benefit of society. Tolerate cultural differences and unfamiliar challenges. Create new values incorporating diverse perspectives and ideas. Envision their own goals and continue to grow as lifelong learners. To cultivate such individuals, APU will: Further, utilize its preeminently multicultural campus to immerse students in a Global Learning Community that provides them with opportunities to grow. Create a new Global Learning standard by pursuing internationally compatible education and research. Strengthen ties with its invaluable stakeholders, from the local community to alumni worldwide, working together to design the University and its educational programs. Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University is one of only three institutions in Japan to achieve this accreditation to date. Out of these institutions, APU is the only one offering an undergraduate business curriculum in both English and Japanese as well as an AACSB-accredited MBA program conducted entirely in the English language. APU's College of International Management and Graduate School of Management (also referred to as APM and GSM, respectively) began the AACSB accreditation process to recognize that international accreditation is an integral part of meeting the expectations of the University's stakeholders. Accreditation was also viewed as an asset in attracting top talent to APU's faculty and student body. As part of the accreditation process, the College of International Management is making changes to APU's undergraduate business school curriculum, introducing additional core courses and adding a comprehensive capstone course that will challenge APU's students to utilize their skills they have learned. These changes will further bring the University's undergraduate business programs in line with international standards, providing APU graduates with the skills and knowledge they need to enter the fast-changing world of international business. Both the College of International Management and the Graduate School of Management will undergo a continuous review process to ensure that they maintain a high level of quality and a focus on continuous improvement in areas including learning and evaluation, academic and professional engagement, and strategic management innovation.
      15. Founded in 2003, Pacific Torah Institute is a High School and Beis Medrash serving the Pacific Northwest. We are dedicated to providing a quality Torah Education and a comprehensive General Studies Program to enable your son to live as a proper Ben Torah. The main focus of our Limudei Kodesh program is developing proficiency in the reading and understanding of Gemara. Our Shiurim are based on skill level so that each student can be accommodated in the proper setting. To ensure that Shiur time is maximized, Talmidim has the opportunity to participate in Rachana/preparation sessions and post-Shiur review classes. We strive to develop the proper analytical skills, which, aside from helping students gain a deeper understanding of the Gemara, are transferable to other areas of the Torah as well. At the same time, our curriculum includes Bekiyus Shiurim to facilitate a broader knowledge of Gemara. Concurrently, our students also attend Chumash classes. The primary focus is on building reading skills to understand the Pesukim, Tagum, and the Meforshim. With these skills, our Talmidim will be capable of comprehending the various texts, but they will also be proficient in developing Chiddushim and appreciating the underlying messages of the Torah. Broad knowledge of Halacha is necessary to live as Ben Torah. Our Yeshiva's curriculum includes Halacha classes. Students will learn a range of practical Halachos, including the Laws of Shabbos and Tefilah, in a setting that allows for questions and discussion. At PTI, we are guided by the principle that building Middos and a proper grounding in Torah Hashkafah are vital to Ben Torah's growth. We recognize that in order for a person to flourish, they must continually evaluate their actions and mindset. At PTI, our Rabbeim strives to instill this desire for Mussar and personal introspection into every Talmid. Our curriculum includes Mussar Sedorim, Shmuezzin, and group Hashkafah sessions, where our students can explore the wisdom of both the classic Mussar Seforim and their contemporary Rabbeim. Owing to our smaller class sizes, we can work with each student individually, allowing him to forge their path in Torah and develop relationships with our Rabbeim. Being active in the Jewish Community is an integral ingredient of a Ben Torah. At PTI, our curriculum extends beyond the classroom, and we aim to engender a sense of responsibility and dedication towards Klal Yisroel. Our students are involved in various activities, including visiting the sick and the elderly, outreach Shabbatonim and community events. Under the dedicated leadership of Mr. Colin Cameron, our General Studies Program is an intensive academic program that is fully accredited by the B.C. Ministry of Education. PTI is fortunate to have a faculty of dedicated teachers who skillfully help students develop the knowledge and skills required by B.C.'s high school graduation program. Our classroom learning is enhanced through unique cross-curriculum programs and academic activities, independent and group research, oral presentations, and the annual Jewish Federation Debates. Our General Studies Program provides students with all requirements to graduate from a British Columbia high school with a Dogwood Certificate, BC's internationally recognized high school diploma. Upon graduation, students are eligible to apply to any post-secondary institution in North America. As with all British Columbia high schools, our General Studies teachers use the B.C. curriculum guides and textbooks. Our teachers offer challenging and individualized instruction that caters to each boy's learning needs and interests. The British Columbia curriculum strives to be at the forefront of education. The signature of the recently revised curriculum is focused on understanding and doing, as well as knowing. These are the focus of the curricular competencies. There is also a determined focus on core competencies: communicating, thinking, and personal and social. The core competencies integrate personal assessment as a critical component of being a useful citizen. Reporting for the revised curriculum will focus on these competencies and will be more frequent and qualitative. Letter grades will not be the norm but will continue to be available.

        Pacific Academy

Pacific Academy was founded in 1985 by B.C. area spiritual and educational leaders who wanted to create a place where kids could receive the best academic and spiritual education possible. Today, our school has grown to become a student body of more than 1400, housed on a 40-acre campus in North Surrey. We are unabashedly Christian to the core and emphasize the life-changing importance of a relationship with Jesus Christ in all that we do. What is more, we believe in living out that commitment by integrating an exciting outreach program into our curriculum. All students - from junior kindergarten through grade 12 - are a part of ministering to those here in the Surrey community and on the other side of the world. The faculty, staff, and leadership at Pacific Academy are tremendously proud of our Fraser Institute FSA (Foundation Skills Assessment) test results because they consistently reflect our philosophy of enrolling students from as many diverse economic and cultural backgrounds as possible. Sometimes that means our scores are not necessarily the highest, but we believe it is more important to show Christ's love by reaching out to children from all walks of life. Before Pacific Academy opened its doors to 200 students in the autumn of 1985, the dream of an individual school that blended high academic standards, Biblical truths, and adequate facilities was a vision in the mind of many British Columbia-area leaders, parents, and educators. Moreover, when Vancouver-based entrepreneur and philanthropist Jim Pattison stepped out in faith to work toward his vision becoming a reality, he was soon joined by Founding Board Members Rev. Allon Hornby, Rev. Bernice Gerard, Rev. Ed Austin, Rev. Ken Birch, Rev. Gordon McDonald, and Mrs. Mary Pattison. Under God's leading, the newly constituted Pacific Pentecostal Education and Communication Society purchased the seven-acre Brookmere Elementary School in Coquitlam, adjacent to Brookmere Park. It was here that Pacific Academy called home for six years until a cold, snowy day in January of 1991 when the growing student body of 560 moved across the Port Mann Bridge to a new, two-story building on the current campus in Surrey, B.C. By fall of that year, the elementary school building (now the primary school) was completed, and over the next four years, 80,000 square feet of additional space was also added. Expansion continued to mark the school's 10th anniversary in 1995 with the addition of a 1500-seat auditorium, which allowed ample room for a student body that had reached 1,000 and room for future enrollment. At Pacific Academy, we have long believed that knowledge and wisdom are essential yet very different things that are inextricably intertwined. Knowledge comes from an academic environment where students are challenged to work hard toward a standard of excellence to reach their fullest potential. Moreover, wisdom comes from maturity - both spiritual and emotional. A wise person both understands and acts on the insights provided by a faith-based education. Therefore, we do everything we can to create an environment where students can learn and thrive academically and spiritually. This includes a curriculum that weaves a spiritual component into critical academic areas. Our science and technology programs help students recognize how the information explosion (the Internet) affects everyone's lives on earth. They are also taught how to leverage their skills and abilities gained in the sciences and technology to engage our culture and lead with energy, enthusiasm, and discernment wherever God calls them to lead their future careers. God made us creative beings. Moreover, our arts programs seek to encourage students to find the best outlet for their creativity. From primary through high school, each of our schools offers a range of music classes that include band, orchestra, choir, and praise worship electives. Visual, verbal, and written expression are also encouraged through art, drama, literature, media, and graphic courses. Fine arts are also a big part of life at Pacific Academy. Each year, students participate in a range of productions - including dramatic and musical performances. Moreover, one need only walk up and down our halls to see the pieces of student-created artwork on display to see how talented many members of our school are.

      18. God, Creator of all things which exist outside of Himself, is personally interested in humankind. God’s interest in humankind extends to specific individual interest in each person, and all people will give an account to God. Humankind, created in the image of God, has fallen short of the mark. As fallen creatures, humans need redemption. God has made provision for humankind to be redeemed through the incarnation, death, and resurrection of Christ. As a God of justice, God will ultimately correct the imbalances and injustice in human life and all of creation. All people are equal in God’s sight, as His “offspring,” but those who come to Him in faith enter into a new relationship – they are born from a new source of life. Humankind has a responsibility under God as custodians of the earth.
      19. As a community, we welcome you to Pacific Lutheran College. Education, like other areas of endeavor, is at an exciting point in its history. New conceptions of schooling are seeing educators shift from a one size fits all approach to one where flexibility in physical and virtual space provides more incredible opportunity and expectation for all students to increase responsibility for their learning. With this increased flexibility in mind, Pacific has been intentional in designing a rich educational program that supports the child's development into a well-rounded, confident adult. The phrases People the Focus, Learning the Purpose, and Christ the Way stand as firm statements of what is in the heart of our community. In all areas of our lives, it is the nature of our relationships that shape our quality of life, sense of well-being, and what we can achieve vocationally. People the focus, there has been a deliberate fostering of strong relationships between staff, students, and parents through formal and informal means. An excellent integrated program of personal development, pastoral care, and outdoor education provides unique opportunities for the growth of well-being critical for today's young people. Qualities emanating from the complimentary school research have complimented and enhanced our culture that grows from the strong tradition of Lutheran education. Learning the Purpose captures the idea that we are on a learning journey in all areas of life. The fostering of a culture of thinking, including risk-taking, creativity, imagination, and deep understandings, is at the core of our academic program. The Teaching For Understanding and Visible Thinking Frameworks from Harvard University inform our educational practice. The intense focus is on ensuring that each child has the opportunity to be well equipped academically to thrive in a rapidly changing world. We believe it is vital that people develop a habit and love of learning, which supports growth and development across all life dimensions. Active engagement in a broad range of sport, cultural, and service activities enriches and enhances young people's development. Christ, the Way, stands as a constant reminder of the centrality of our relationship to God. This relationship's nature encourages the living of the values of courage, compassion, acceptance, honesty, and forgiveness, striving for quality, hope, love, humility, and service. More importantly, it reminds us that a gracious and loving God walks with us through the circumstances of life. Established in 2001, Pacific Lutheran College is a Kindergarten to Year 12 College that is innovative, dynamic, and progressive, yet firmly underpinned by the values and traditions of excellence of Lutheran schooling across Australia. As a Christ-centred community, Pacific has a strong focus on relationships and values. Pacific challenges community members to be compassionate, tolerant, deep thinking, socially just individuals who have the confidence, knowledge, courage, flexibility, and deep understandings to make a difference both today and tomorrow in their families and the wider community. To equip students to thrive in the highly complex world of today and tomorrow, Pacific has drawn on best practices from international educational research in its curriculum design and structure. Our focus is not just on what children will become, but who they are today. State of the art facilities has been designed to allow flexible use of space and provide extensive access to information technology resources from every classroom. Most importantly, highly skilled, committed, and dedicated teachers support and encourage students to be the best they can be. As a community, parents, staff, and students are challenged to be dreamers, architects, builders, and celebrators. To dream what is possible, imagine and create a better way forward, be resilient, persistent, and flexible, and be celebrators of life.
      20. Your children are encouraged to develop their gifts and abilities to their fullest potential by teachers who care for your child. We provide affordable, quality education for all families, emphasizing Christian values within a caring Christian environment. Our fully trained Christian teachers deliver a comprehensive curriculum approved by the Board of Studies Teaching and educational standards (BOSTES). At the Pacific Coast, we are passionate about working together to care for others in need. As we care for others as part of our national and international communities, we participate in the mission. Working together in mission challenges us to think outside of ourselves and think more broadly about the broader communities we are a part of. The mission is national and international service to our community. Students and staff participate in serving other communities. Each year, students from Year Five to Ten attend a mission trip. This includes visiting other Christian schools and communities to serve them in meaningful and supportive ways. In the process of this service, student’s hearts begin to be transformed. As part of this process, service is critical in shaping how children view themselves within a community. Service enables a child to understand who they are ‘being’ and how they ‘belong’ to a community. Serving enables children to work with others as part of a team. Working in a team teaches a child that they have strengths and weaknesses. Each child is gifted with their own ability to contribute to the team, and others have strengths they do not; this understanding begins to create humility, which leads to empathy. When individuals understand their strengths and weaknesses, they develop an understanding of who they are within a community. Franklin Roosevelt says, “We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.” Some of our destinations include Northern Territory, Western Australia, Goondiwindi, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, India, Nepal, Hong Kong, and Cambodia.
