We provide opportunities for students to be involved in a range of activities in addition to their studies. Every year we run a significant Outdoor Education experience in which all students from kindergarten to year 11 are involved in a program of activities or educational visits. We are a young school but are already establishing traditions that we will build as we continue to grow. Sapphire Coast Anglican College offers comprehensive educational programs encompassing the full range of key learning areas from pre-kindergarten to year 12. We provide an innovative, purposeful, and enjoyable learning environment where students' individual needs and abilities are encouraged and nurtured. Problem-solving approaches and skills in information and communication technology are integral to teaching programs. The curriculum is firmly embedded in the NSW Board of Studies' requirements with a bias towards the traditional mainstream academic courses. Electives begin at year eight. These reflect this bias while maintaining a balance between practical and theoretical studies. At Stage 6 (Years 11 and 12), the emphasis towards university entrance is reflected in that there are no courses offered that do not contribute to the ATAR (the basis upon which university entrance is determined). Vocational Education Training (VET) courses are also possible. At this time, only hospitality and tourism are offered on-site, but TAFE courses and in-school apprenticeships can be integrated into a student's timetable, although additional costs do apply.
