In our quest for excellence, we integrate faith and learning holistically to empower students with the values and foundations that will allow them to flourish and serve God and the wider community. Proper education is worth far beyond exam results in developing the intellectual, spiritual, emotional, social, and physical potential of each student. Our endeavor at Chrysalis is to provide a comprehensive, in-depth education while developing the potential in children. The areas of development that are important to us include the curriculum's academic, physical, social, moral, artistic, and spiritual aspects. The Primary Years at Chrysalis include Class 1 through Class 5 (with Class 6 joining the Middle School). Children move into the second phase of childhood at age six or seven. Just as the Kindergarten children learn through imitation, Primary aged children learn best through imagination. This change is marked by a new readiness for formal learning when the child enters Class 1. It is essential to nurtur…

From the original one Children’s House and one primary class, extra classes were added from 1992 through to 1995. Within that time (1994), enrolments exceeded 100 students for the first time. In 1996, after a lengthy appeal process, the school’s funding from the Commonwealth was increased from Category 3 to Category 7. This placed the school in a sound financial position and has allowed for more significant resourcing of the classrooms and flexibility with staffing arrangements. View full school

The terms Christ-centred education and Christian education are both used to describe the education provided at Chairo. It is an education that's delivered by teachers who possess a biblical worldview and who are therefore able to help students develop a similar worldview of their own. The Bible becomes the lens through which students view what they are learning. Christians believe the world belongs to God and that He has a plan for all who live in it. Christian education is not about avoiding the world. Instead, it seeks to engage with the culture and prepare students for lives that reflect, serve, and honor God. It is about acknowledging God in every subject area, i…

From humble beginnings, the Central Coast Rudolf Steiner School began its journey in 1995. A mudbrick cottage housed a kindergarten of eight children and Patricia Dodman, a dedicated Steiner teacher with a dream to bring Rudolf Steiner education to the NSW Central Coast. A challenging journey has seen the school move from that house in Holgate to the Ourimbah campus of Newcastle University and then onto a vacant block at North Gosford. Finally, in 2006, we moved with 163 students into our permanent home– seven acres of rural land with a brick house and a big green shed in Fountaindale. The years since have seen significant changes to that open pasture we settled into.…

Growing up in the Illawarra, I have enjoyed being connected to support community groups. Whether it was in my local school, playing representative basketball, serving in my church, or through my studies at the University of Wollongong, I have found that what makes a community great is when each individual plays an active role within it. At Cedars, we know that the key to our success as a school community does not rest with the whole group but rather with the individual. That is why we believe it is our role to help identify each student's gifts, equip them to achieve, and inspire them to use their passions to live out not only a successful life but also a significant…

Today, Cedar College has over 800 students and is still growing in both numbers and facilities. The most notable recent additions are the Creative Arts Centre, the two-story Resource Centre and Administration Block, and the Cedar College Sports Centre. The name Cedar College is derived from Psalm 92 v 12, which outlines a righteous person's growth, pictured as a cedar tree, growing to become healthy and vital and leading a fruit-bearing life. Cedar College aims to prepare students for real-life as they discover Jesus, display love, and develop self. Discover Jesus. We believe that real life is found in knowing Jesus Christ, and we regularly encourage our students to dis…
