      1. Reverend J H Davies founded Caulfield Grammar School in Elsternwick, Victoria, in 1881 with just nine pupils. By 1911 it had moved to land that is now the site of the Caulfield Campus in Glen Eira Road, East St Kilda. Today, this campus provides a broad range of learning programs for girls and boys, day students and boarders, in Years 7 to 12. In 1947, our school pioneered a rural campus idea, the first of its kind in Australia. Yarra Junction Campusbecame the model followed by other schools in providing learning experiences beyond the classroom, remote from students' familiar routine and environment. A review of the School's Vision, Mission and Values was instigated in 2011 by former Principal Rev. Syme, and after an extensive period of consultation with the school community is pleased to confirm the Mission, Vision, and Values that will guide Caulfield Grammar School's strategic planning and the delivery of its learning programs into the future. Our Mission To enable quality learning every day in every experience for every learner for life. Our Vision To be a leading, internationally recognized, co-educational school fostering responsible global citizenship. Our Values are one school inspired by our Anglican tradition and value Creativity and Innovation Excellence and Achievement Thriving and Belonging Cultivating a Passion in and for life Delivering quality learning is what Caulfield Grammar School's reputation is built on. But what about the future? The school intends to drive a robust improvement agenda that will see it deliver on its Mission, Vision, and Values today, tomorrow, and beyond. The school has developed a strategic plan that will see it continue to focus on five key outcome areas set out in the diagrams below. The strategic projects and capital works plans to align with the Vision, Mission, and Values using a balanced scorecard to measure and guide our progress. Our youngest learners are keen observers and explorers of the world around them, and our experienced teachers aim to foster this in their learning. Incorporating the best aspects of several educational philosophies, including the Reggio Emilia approach, our Kindergarten and Pre-Preparatory curriculum framework engages children in inquiry-based learning and wondering. Learning is guided by our highly qualified team of educators who provide a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment. Alongside developing critical skills in literacy and numeracy, our young girls and boys develop understandings by exploring their environment, creating, communicating, and documenting. The addition of specialist classes such as Physical Education and the Perceptual Motor Programme (PMP), Music and Library, enrich the Early Years program. Pre-Preparatory children are exposed to language learning as they participate in weekly Chinese language lessons. As part of the wider Caulfield Grammar community, our learners join various campus experiences, including the 'buddy' program, games, and assemblies. The Middle Schools of Caulfield Grammar, at Caulfield Campus and Wheelers Hill Campus, are candidate schools for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP). Caulfield Grammar School is an authorized IB World School and currently offers the Primary Years Program. Recognizing the significant and often rapid changes in girls and boys during the years of early adolescence and the transition from primary to secondary schooling, the staff at all Caulfield Grammar School campuses, work closely to provide a caring environment for our students. Specialist teams of teachers provide healthy pastoral care while also assisting in the academic learning program. These teachers are committed to delivering learning programs using the best-suited styles to girls and boys in these year levels. Secondary level schooling is delivered at Caulfield Campus and Wheelers Hill Campus. Excellent facilities support an extensive learning program, including information technology, languages, sciences, humanities, the arts, and much more. For senior students at Caulfield Campus and Wheelers Hill Campus, each day is filled with diverse activities designed to prepare them for fulfilling adult life. Particular emphasis is given to helping students focus on preparation for entry to their choice's tertiary course or career. An extensive range of VCE units is offered from Year 10, enabling students to tailor a course of study to suit their interests, needs, and preferred destinations. Students enjoy more flexibility, more specialist teachers, and more career support to help them excel. For a summary of the current Subject Choices/Learning Programs, see Subject Choices/Learning Programs Caulfield Campus or Subject Choices/Learning Programs Wheelers Hill Campus. Caulfield Grammar has a comprehensive careers program, providing students with exposure to varying industries and tertiary institutions, interview experience and resume writing. Additionally, many students can enroll in first-year Enhancement Subjects offered by The University of Melbourne and Monash University. Vocational Education and Training programs are offered in association with TAFE Institutes. Dedicated specialist teachers and excellent facilities provide support, and students have many opportunities to extend themselves to new levels of achievement with specially tailored enhancement programs.
