      1. Our vision is to provide the highest quality Christian Education that prepares our students for a life of service to God. This is in line with Christian Schools Tasmania (the association that oversees our school). Our mission is to honor God through the provision of Christian education. The curriculum for Kindergarten is based on the principles described in the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and emphasizes play-based learning. The curriculum for Prep to Year 6 is based on the National Australian Curriculum. Teachers plan learning experiences and units of work within the curriculum which strongly reflect, and are underpinned by, the Biblical worldview of our Christian School. In the early 1980s, Calvin Christian School in Kingston had its Primary classes filled, so it was decided to start another Christian Primary School south of Kingston. A committee was formed, and by 1987 there was enough support from the Margate and Huonville areas and a good number of children to begin a school. The first stage of the school was built mainly with voluntary labor by many future parents. There was great enthusiasm, a strong sense of community, commitment, and much joy in seeing the school erected in record time, ready for the opening in February 1988.
      2. Imagine a big family—one that's warm, welcoming, smart, and fun. California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) is a four-year, public university in Camarillo, California. Established in 2002, we are the youngest of 23 campuses in the CSU family. While our name suggests, we are surrounded by water, relax. You will not need a ferry to get here. Camarillo is midway between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles and just 25 miles from Malibu. CSUCI is nestled against the Santa Monica Mountain's foothills—and close to the Pacific Ocean and the Pacific Coast Highway. At CSUCI, everything—and we mean everything—connects to our mission and "Four Pillars." Our mission statement boils down to this: No matter which of our academic programs you choose, you will be at the center of your educational experience. Your education rests on our Four Pillars: International—an internationalized curriculum, a diverse campus community, and studying abroad opportunities. Integrative—CSUCI's signature interdisciplinary approach. Multicultural—a campus that reflects the real world a curriculum that prepares you for it. Community engagement—valuable experience you need and a chance to make the world better. Placing students at the center of the educational experience, California State University Channel Islands provides undergraduate and graduate education that facilitates learning within and across disciplines through integrative approaches, emphasizes experiential and service learning, and graduates with multicultural and international perspectives. Our more than 30 academic programs at California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) are student-centered, innovative, and creative. You will be inspired to question, think critically, and explore. Your professors are accessible mentors who take an interdisciplinary approach to teaching and learning—whether you are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree or certification to advance your career. California State University Channel Islands (CI) understands that you have a life. A full life. So when it comes to continuing your education, you need lots of options. That is where Extended University comes in. At California State University Channel Islands (CI), you will never hear us say, "That is how we have always done it." We are young—and innovative, which means we are not stuck in outdated teaching and learning modes.Take our signature interdisciplinary approach to courses and programs. Because of it, you might take a course that combines, say, art with science or history with the business. Student Support Services (SSS) at California State University Channel Islands is a student-centered program that assists first-generation and income-qualified students and students with disabilities. SSS is federally funded to serve 160 students throughout the academic year. SSS's goal is to increase the retention and graduation rates of those students who are first-generation, low-income, and disabled. With SSS assistance, students will complete the requirements for a baccalaureate degree and possibly continue to graduate or professional school. SSS supports student success by providing a comprehensive individualized program of active and targeted assistance aimed at increasing academic accomplishment and providing and building cooperative and trusting relationships with students. CSUCI's mission is all about you. It is about a student-centered education, one that will put innovative learning opportunities in front of you—no matter which of our academic programs you choose. First-year students are admitted once per year in the fall semester. The application filing period begins October 1st through November 30th every year. California State University Channel Islands (CI) knows you need a graduate program flexible enough to fit your schedule and life. You will find that at CI. Special education does not have to come with an extraordinary price tag. At California State University Channel Islands (CI), we strive to keep your attendance costs minimum. Out-of-state students may even find CI costs less than your in-state education. California State University Channel Islands is pleased to welcome international students. We are committed to academic excellence, community involvement, environmental responsibility, and leadership for the 21st century, and we invite international students to join our vibrant, diverse campus community. CI offers Masters's degrees in Business, Biotechnology, Dual Degree in MBA and Biotechnology, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Education. Over 25 programs are available for international undergraduates. Exchange students can apply to CI through the bi-lateral partner exchange or the California State University's International Programs. Upper-division transfer students (except Pre-Nursing majors) are admitted in both the fall and spring semesters. Pre-Nursing transfer students are only admitted in the fall. CSUCI's beautiful campus in Camarillo is midway between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles and just 25 miles from Malibu. We are nestled against the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains—and not far from the Pacific Ocean. Despite our name, CSUCI is surrounded by lemon groves and strawberry and raspberry fields. With Spanish-style buildings and courtyards, our peaceful campus is ideal for you to immerse yourself in your studies. To get the most out of California State University Channel Islands (CI), do not just go to class and go home. CI offers plenty of ways for you to get involved, improve your leadership skills, and make friends—and memories—that will last a lifetime.
