  1. Welcome to Lynn-Rose Our philosophy is to treat every student with respect while ensuring they have the opportunity to explore, create, and thrive in a program of academic excellence. Our school culture embraces character development and values that promote leadership, confidence, respect, strength, wisdom, and integrity. Our goal and the goal of the International Baccalaureate Organization is to help our students develop personal confidence with an emphasis on character and values. As educators, we provide opportunities for our students to learn and make wise choices, respect others, protect their environment, and overall become contributing and understanding members of our global community. Lynn-Rose offers a nurturing and stimulating environment where your child is treated with respect, preparing them for future success. We are a school of joy and enthusiasm that encompasses the arts and athletics with exceptional academics. At Lynn-Rose, your child will thrive within our outstanding academic curriculum and will have the opportunity to explore the arts through creativity, music, and drama. Beyond the classroom, our students are encouraged to join our sports and outreach programs and participate in field trips. Lynn-Rose is committed to our parents/families and values their input. Here your child will thrive as an individual with the opportunity for personal growth. We take pride in understanding the students as individuals and supporting them to reach their potential socially, emotionally, and intellectually. Thank you for considering Lynn-Rose as a choice school for your child. We encourage you to talk to our dedicated staff and community about our school, and please feel free to ask questions. We are proud of our schools and are here to help make this important decision with you. Lynn-Rose is a private IB World School servicing our community's children's needs since 1997 in Mississauga, ON. We admit students from Pre-K (3 yr. olds) to Grade 12, offering a full range of the Ontario Curriculum and the IB Continuum. As a natural progression from their Mississauga-based Play and Learn Children's Centres, a flourishing academic pre-school program that has demonstrated academic excellence in its graduates since 1987, Tara Bullock and Marie Attard designed an academic program within a nurturing environment to fuel the zest for learning that they believe all children naturally possess. Since 1997, the Lynn-Rose philosophy has provided an enhanced level of programming that ignites the students' passion for learning. With a professional staff of educators who make the classroom experience positive and fulfilling for their students, Lynn-Rose Heights partners with parents to create the optimum environment for student learning and future success. Lynn-Rose provides educational programming explicitly tailored to the unique needs of each child. Blending the nurturing qualities that impressed parents at the Play and Learn Children's Centres with a child-centered educational approach. With the rise of the International Baccalaureate Programme World Wide and its similarities to the existing Lynn-Rose model, transitioning to become Mississauga's only IB Continuum School was a seamless one. Under its founders' vision, Lynn-Rose has become a leader in offering a versatile and student-based learning experience, a foundation that our graduates build on and use to flourish as they complete their journey. Lynn-Rose Heights offers a full day Pre-Kindergarten program (3-year-olds). Since its inception, this program has become highly regarded, and the pace and scope of our enrollment represent that fact. LRH opens five spaces into this program per year. Due to the limited space and high demand, we accept this program's registration one year ahead. Please visit our Inquire Page for more details. The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) is a curriculum framework designed for students aged 3 to 12. It focuses on developing the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside. Six transdisciplinary themes of global significance define it, explored using knowledge and skills derived from six subject areas, emphasizing inquiry-based learning. The PYP is a transformative experience for students, teachers, and whole school communities. PYP students learn how to take control of their learning; teachers collaborate to deepen student- learning and increase their confidence and self-motivation. The whole school community, including parents, are viewed as partners in learning and actively contribute to a holistic educational experience. In the final year of the Primary Years Programme, students carry out an extended, in-depth, collaborative project known as the PYP exhibition. This involves students working collaboratively to conduct an in-depth inquiry into real-life issues or problems. Through the Middle Years Programme (MYP) projects, students experience the responsibility of completing a significant piece of work over an extended period. MYP projects encourage students to reflect on their learning and their work outcomes – essential skills that prepare them for further study, the workplace, and the community. Students who complete the MYP in Year 3 or Year 4 complete the community project. All students who complete the MYP in Year 5 complete the personal project. The community project provides an essential opportunity for students ages 13-14 to collaborate and pursue service-learning. Schools register all MYP Year 5 students for external moderation of the personal project, promoting a global standard of quality. MYP projects are student-centered and age-appropriate, and they enable students to engage in practical explorations through a cycle of inquiry, action, and reflection. Research suggests that there are many benefits to choosing the Diploma Programme (DP). The program aims to develop students who have excellent breadth and depth of knowledge – students who flourish physically, intellectually, emotionally, and ethically. The Diploma Programme (DP) curriculum is made up of six subject groups and the DP core, comprising theory of knowledge (TOK), creativity, activity, service (CAS), and the extended essay. Through the Diploma Programme (DP) core, students reflect on the nature of knowledge, complete independent research, and undertake a project that often involves community service. View full school
