  5. Capital University is a private four-year undergraduate institution and graduate school located in Columbus, Ohio. At Capital, we transform lives through higher education, and our purpose is purpose. Through an immersive, high-impact, and convergent approach to teaching and learning, we find, feed, and refine the role each of us was born for — no matter who we are. With roots that ground us firmly in a history of academic excellence, free inquiry, and individual development of every student, Capital combines personal attention with a balanced liberal arts and professional studies education. Since its founding by the Lutheran Church in 1830 and charter as a university in 1850, Capital has been an agent in shaping engaged citizens and purposeful leaders. They improve their industries, communities, and society. Our roots secure us as we stretch toward innovation, new ways of knowing, and better-contributing ways. Our values ground us as we remove obstacles to give each student, faculty, staff, community member, and neighbor a chance to do more, not less. Capital University serves a diverse student body of nearly 3,500, including traditional undergraduates, degree-completion and graduate students. We offer 60 majors and more than 50 minors in the areas of Music, Arts and Communication, Business and Management, Education, Humanities, Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Computer Science, Nursing and Health, and Social Sciences. We offer graduate degrees and post-degree certification in Education, Law, Nursing, Business, and Music Education. Deeply connected to the capital city we call home, Capital is at the epicenter of purpose, possibility, and purple power. Helping to fuel the vibrant metropolitan area of Columbus – a city that often makes “top 10” lists for livability, technology, opportunity, and jobs – students plug into a diverse economy that’s home to many Fortune 500 companies, the third-largest city in the Midwest. Capital University is a comprehensive, private university centered in contemporary Lutheran values, offering undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs in the liberal arts, sciences, and professions. Our mission is to transform lives for a brighter world. Capital University serves a diverse student body of nearly 3,500, including traditional undergraduates. These students have come back to college to complete their bachelor’s degree or get a second one, graduate students, and those seeking a specific license or certification. We deliver undergraduate and graduate programs in the arts, sciences, humanities, and professions. We also offer graduate degrees in law, nursing, business, and music education for those driven to do more. At Capital, we partner with you to forge a focused path to your future—a pathway that begins with your dreams and culminates with you becoming the person and the professional you want to be. Each of our 60 majors and 51 minors offers a distinct focus, yet you will find endless interconnections between your chosen discipline and related — or seemingly unrelated — areas of study. Thousands of lives have been transformed by what happens in our classrooms. Learning is an active process, where students and professors are highly engaged in the exchange, using teaching and learning practices proven to have the highest impact on learning. Practices like first-year seminars that teach you how to be successful in college. Practices like internships, learning communities, undergraduate research, and capstones. Where there is a less traditional lecture and more rolling up your sleeves and finding answers with your classmates and professors at your side. Where the latest in educational technology prepares you for class before you walk through the door, and then waits to show you more examples of what you’ve just learned — in the environment of your choice and on your own time. You do not just memorize what you need to know for the next exam. You acquire new knowledge and experience that will help you navigate the next educational and professional challenge. You do not just master the material on paper. You get to experience (and a portfolio) doing the work. We also believe learning takes place outside of the classroom through leadership in student organizations, service-learning, and diverse and global learning through study abroad. Whatever your program, we advocate for your success by partnering with you while finding your place as a learner, professional, and citizen. Your student success advocates are not just your professors. Every employee at Capital is a student success advocate. It may not be in their job title, but it is everyone’s goal. The Capital was founded in 1830, and our Lutheran heritage heavily influences the way we teach and learn today. Our academic approach is rooted in the values of free inquiry, active learning, critical thinking, and relentless questioning. Believing our community is strengthened by those who bring different perspectives, we embrace diversity and inclusion, welcoming people of all faiths, cultures, traditions, experiences, backgrounds, and identities. We educate broadly to build your knowledge and expand your world view. We also educate you specifically to refine your skills and talent in a particular field. Moreover, we prepare you to navigate complexity, diversity, and change. So that you will be empowered as a citizen to do good in the world, and you’ll be prepared as a professional to do well in your field. This balance of liberal studies with the professional and career fields is central to our university learning goals. View full university

  9. With the advent of the 21st Century and the leap in inventions and technology, it is our role to prepare students for jobs and careers that do not even exist therefore, we only act as facilitators in our children’s learning journey. In any organization, there is always a need for a vision that acts as a compass which, in the case of a school, guides it towards its goals/destination. We must assess the needs of our school community. To create a positive school culture, we must reassess the needs of the community members to ensure that all members/stakeholders are satisfied, feel secure, and valued. Capital International School is committed to preparing well-rounded students, who will be equipped with the essential 21st-century skills and knowledge to excel in a future of their choice. The school promotes a climate of trust and respect among all stakeholders. All resources: human, financial, or technical, will be geared to fostering an environment that is conducive to productive learning and working. The school acknowledges the diversity of every individual it is responsible for improving and developing its curricular and co-curricular programs to make provisions for this diversity. All stakeholders are committed to the beliefs and values of the school. Modeling this commitment is vital not only to disseminate respect and trust but also to ensure that all members of the school’s community have the end product in focus: meaningful learning. One of the most important elements for the success of any organization is good communication. The smooth flow and consistency of communication in schools are vital for keeping all stakeholders updated and aware of matters about the school. Accordingly, a solid communication policy will be established and adhered to avoid discrepancy or misunderstanding. Modeling sound communication skills with our students, parents, and peers is essential to nurture a culture of respect. Our vision is to cultivate and empower confident achievers with life-long tools that will enable them to be proactive and innovative global citizens who will strive for self-discovery, develop a love of learning, be tolerant of diversity as they nurture civic engagement whilst becoming admirable leaders who will embrace the full richness and to address the diversity of the community at large. The mission of CIS is to develop and empower confident learners with life-long skills that will enable them to take the initiative as engaged members of the global community who strive for self-discovery, develop a love for learning, and be respectful and tolerant of the diversity of the global community in which they live. We value excellence in teaching and service. We are committed to promoting creative and critical thinking among faculty, students, and staff within a culture of inspiration, high expectations, accountability, and quality service to students and external communities. We value respect for cultural, individual, and role differences. We are committed to maintaining a spirit of community where differences of opinion are encouraged. Capital International Schools’ academic philosophy is very simple education is the essence of life. Educators provide a sacred service, not a commodity. The learning process should be a pleasurable experience, not one that is stressful we, as educators, act as facilitators of such an experience not only for our students but for our teachers as well. To secure a dynamic school community, leadership must ensure that teachers are provided opportunities to thrive. As educational leaders, we have to empower our teachers, who in turn, will empower our students. Offering a quality curriculum that is tailored to help the diverse needs of students will equip students, help them explore and experience content, provide them with the opportunities to reflect and revise their understanding is an integral part of their learning journey. We believe that the Humanistic Approach for our students is the most convenient as it stresses the idea of a relaxed learning environment, where each student is respected and respects others. Students do not fear voicing out their experiences, they share their learning experience and are encouraged to be inquisitive. The humanistic approach is a move from the traditional teacher-centered classroom to a student-centered one. Students develop critical thinking skills and evidence-based practical learning. Through providing our students with Innovation Lab classes, we empower them to discover, create, and develop ideas, refine them into useful forms, and bring them to life. The innovation process begins with strategic thinking and setting the goal to create a strategic outcome. We are committed to such unique approaches that distinguish us from other international schools to ensure the readiness of our students to face the world with innovative skills that make them stand out and emerge as innovative thinkers and lead to fostering a sense of ownership and authenticity in the students’ learning experience.

Offering a class/form structure within critical stages of development, a British National Curriculum including Early Years Foundation Stage while adhering to the Bahrain Ministry of Education's requirements on the teaching of Arabic and Islamic classes. Our teaching and learning approaches reflect only the very best of British Primary School practice and are contained within a modern learning environment, both stimulating and purposeful. We aim to reinforce family values and norms at all times, which in turn creates an atmosphere of warmth and care because we believe that a happy child is one who learns more effectively, underpinned by our school Motto, "Your best is always good enough." Our school house system of Buckingham, Windsor, Kensington, and Sandringham will further reinforce the notion of team spirit, cooperation, and always giving your best unselfishly. Capital School Bahrain aligns itself with the highest of safeguarding standards demanded by the British Primary School inspectorate. The school is situated away from the roadside with a secure site that is strictly monitored 24/7. The new school is within the Al Ahli Sports Complex area, which also provides us with excellent sports facilities that would be the envy of any school. We continuously work in close harmony with our sister school, Capital School, Dubai, to ensure that we gain from the very best of shared expertise and resources while maintaining collective standards of both progress and attainment in all subjects offered. Time and experience have shown that a good education can make all the difference in one's life. Likewise, the value of learning institutions that understand the purpose of education cannot be under-estimated. These institutions are not restricted to imparting mere book learning. However, they are equally committed to nurturing extra-curricular talent and inculcating human values like wisdom, compassion, courage, and integrity in young minds. When we first established the Capital Schools in Dubai and then in Bahrain, this was our vision. To make this school representative of education in the highest sense of the word, making it our mission to ensure that every child who enters our gates benefits from the full advantage of our combined experience, understanding, and vision. We aim to give every one of our students a chance to grow and develop into well-rounded, complete individuals. Capital School truly believes in holistic education for our children. Our programs support academics, co-curricular activities, sports education, and life-skills learning fully. We endeavor to balance and achieve the best results through an experienced and dedicated faculty, state-of-the-art infrastructure, top-notch facilities, and an internationally recognized curriculum. 16.
