About Me

  1. At Strand on the Green Infant and Nursery School, we offer an active and exciting curriculum for 3-7 year age range where children learn through a balance of child-centered play and teacher-led sessions, setting them up to be independent and successful learners in our linked Junior School and beyond. Our inspirational and talented teaching team provides an environment that nurtures a love of learning, inquiry, creativity, teamwork, and unity. Every child is encouraged to achieve the highest standards possible, in an atmosphere where all success, great or small, is properly celebrated. Progress for all children in basic skills is excellent, no matter their starting points and we are proud of our academic standards. We recognize the importance of developing young children's spoken language and understanding and this is reflected in our emphasis on active learning through play in the Early Years. Our Swan Centre provides specialist teaching and a structured environment for children with Autism who are also able to successfully access sessions in the mainstream school with support. Our curriculum is truly broad and balanced, with a strong emphasis on supporting children to be happy, healthy, and motivated, able to work collaboratively with others, and rise confidently to challenges in life. We offer a range of sports activities including PE taught by specialist staff and the daily mile run by KS1 children most days. Music and creativity are promoted through a themed curriculum approach and families can also opt for paid individual instrument tuition if they wish. We are uniquely situated, tucked away in Strand on the Green, within a stone’s throw of the River Thames in Chiswick. We utilize that locality to the full, with regular educational visits out of school. We work hard on providing high-quality learning environments inside and outside including two lovely Early Years outdoor learning areas, a ‘field' and a Forest School area. At Strand on the Green Infant & Nursery School, our aim is for each child to achieve his/ her full potential, academically, socially, physically, creatively, and spiritually. This will be achieved through a partnership with staff, pupils, parents, governors, and the wider community. Our curriculum takes into account that each pupil is an individual with a mixture of talents and needs. Through our curriculum, we aim to nurture and develop this potential for each individual. Our school affords high priority to numeracy, literacy, and the ability of pupils to express themselves fluently and confidently. In all subject areas, recognition is given to the importance of first-hand experience and practical tasks in the acquisition and application of knowledge and skills. As a school, we are not committed to anyone's approach to teaching and learning but to using a range of techniques to achieve our mission. Our children are active learners and everyone is challenged or supported to engage with the curriculum. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage and the National Curriculum but have tailored this to suit the children living in our community and to reflect our local environment. For example, visiting local places of worship and learning through outings to the Gunnersbury Museum and Kew Gardens. These visits are all integral to our curriculum. Some of our visits such as the Science Museum, The National Gallery and West Wittering are further afield. Teachers make learning relevant and exciting, for example, there is always a purpose given to Writing. Outdoor learning is valued as much as indoor learning Nursery and Reception work in outdoor learning areas and all children have the opportunity to learn through a ‘Forest Schools Programme’ and learn social and physical skills at playtime and lunchtimes. By making sure lessons are fun and engaging, we aim to foster a 'love of learning so that children approach their tasks with enthusiasm and confidence. Teachers' expectations of what each child is capable of achieving are very high and learning is structured, relevant, and stimulating to meet the needs of each child. At the same time, pupils are encouraged to set their high standards and to learn to appreciate success. Children are encouraged to be independent and are offered a variety of child-initiated learning as well as teacher-directed tasks. We are proud of the outstanding behavior demonstrated by the children at Strand Infants. We believe in the provision of a high-quality curriculum, with exciting and engaging activities combined with high expectations for learning and behavior at all times. We encourage all adults and children to use positive language and manners, demonstrating respect and trusting relationships. Our Behaviour Policy is followed calmly, positively, and consistently by all staff. Parents and carers work in partnership with the school, celebrating the good news about behavior and working through any challenges together.
  2. We believe children learn best when they are enjoying themselves, and when what they study is targeted to their needs and interests. We build a new and creative curriculum designed around engaging topics. Our school ethos is around helping children to grow into successful, happy, and kind people. Individuals who feel part of society, understand their role in the world, and have attained the academic successes, social skills, and behavior to prepare them for life after Stroud Green - in secondary school and beyond. Building strong relationships with parents and families is also an important aspect of our work and ethos. The school sits at the very center of the community, offering the services to families that they need to support their busy lives. We have therefore opened a new nursery offering places to children from 1 to 4 years old. Stroud Green is a two-form entry primary school in Haringey North London. Our school aims to give you an insight into the school, as well as providing regularly updated information for the whole school community. At Stroud Green, we believe that children deserve - and thrive on - excitement in their learning. We have an engaging creative curriculum, where topics are based on the interests and experiences of our children. This is designed to encourage them to take ownership of what they study, to make it more engaging, and to inspire a life-long love of learning. School Motto: "Believe & Achieve". Stroud Green Primary School, part of a richly diverse community, is a place where all children flourish in a safe, happy, and stimulating environment. We are keen to support our children in many aspects of their life to become confident and resilient young people. We want our children to: Develop academically, creatively, physically, socially, and emotionally. Enjoy a broad, balanced, and enriching curriculum. Strive for high levels of educational achievement. Know that achievements are recognized and celebrated. We underpin this with an environment where: Personal responsibility, self-esteem, and concern for others is developed Cultural, social, religious, and other diversities within our community are recognized, valued, and celebrated Children feel secure, know what is expected of them, and understand that they will be supported in meeting life’s challenges Statement of Equality: Everyone has rights and responsibilities. Everyone has equal value to “ourselves”. Everyone in school is valued and treated fairly. We respect each other's cultures, languages, ethnicity, appearance, age family, intellectual ability and aptitude, talents, and religious beliefs. We will not tolerate anyone who disregards these values through sexism, racism, or bullying in any way. Stroud Green is proud to be an inclusive school. We are committed to achieving the best for all students. Inclusive education means removing barriers to learning and giving children the best start in their lifelong learning. We believe it is good for all children to be educated together. At Stroud Green Primary School we believe wholeheartedly in a broad, balanced, and creative curriculum. We know that children learn best when they are happy and engaged in their learning. We have a topic-based curriculum and children learn everything through a topic that changes half termly. Once a year we have child-initiated topics. At Stroud Green Primary Early Years Foundation Stage is the term used for the education of children in our Reception Classes. Technically 'Early Years Foundation Stage' encompasses Nursery and other ‘pre-school’ placements and is completed at the end of the year in Reception when children move into Key Stage 1 or Infants. (This comprises Years 1&2, whilst Key Stage 2 covers Years 3-6). At Stroud Green, our first aim is to settle the children happily into the school, as happy children are ready learners. To this end, the early days in Reception will largely mirror pre-school provision and children will move gradually towards more formal work over the year. Well-planned play is a key way in which young children learn with enjoyment and challenge. Through play, children explore and investigate learning experiences that help them make sense of the world, without fear of failure. However, there will be many children who are ready to work in a more structured way as the year progresses. We aim to challenge all the children and provide them with a range of opportunities and teaching strategies to extend their learning.
  3. Rushey Green Nursery and Primary School, located in Catford within the London Borough of Lewisham. Primary schools in Lewisham are among the top-performing schools in the country, and last year, children leaving primary schools in Lewisham achieved the fourth-best results in the country. Our building was recently extended and comprises innovative designs with state-of-the-art facilities. Several Saxon remains were found during these works which are stored at the Horniman Museum. We believe that children get the most from their education when there’s a strong partnership between home and school, and we hope that you will work with us to make sure that your child gets the most from being at Rushey Green. We aim to work in partnership with parents to provide an education of the highest quality, which celebrates everyone’s success is a happy, caring, creative environment where all our differences are valued. We will do this by helping pupils develop: A sense of their worth, self-confidence, self-respect, and self-reliance A sense of responsibility for thoughts and actions leading to self-control Enthusiasm for work so that each has high expectations and gives of his/her best An inquiring mind, to question and debate rationally Skills and practical abilities for our changing world in work and play Anesthetic appreciation of the world A lively imagination Adaptability and flexibility A sense of physical well being Towards others Reasoned respect and tolerance of other people’s values and beliefs An appreciation of the aspirations and achievements of others A sensitivity for the feelings of others The ability to work co-operatively Respect and responsibility for their environment and an awareness of the fragility of all environments
  4. Welcome to Roe Green Infant School. Roe Green Infant School is a Community school, catering to children between the ages of three and seven. The school consists of the Early Years Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception) and Key Stage One (Year One and Year Two). Apart from the Nursery, which has 40-morning places and 40-afternoon places, the year groups are each arranged into 4 mixed ability classes of 30 children. Our school is a happy place, where children feel secure, enjoy their learning, and develop respect for themselves, others, and the environment. We have high expectations, both socially and academically, and support every pupil in achieving their full potential. We are very proud of our school and are always happy to show prospective parents around. The school is situated on Princes Avenue, adjacent to Kingsbury High School and Roe Green Park. The school shares the building with Roe Green Junior School. All the classrooms are on the ground floor. The library and art room are accessed via one flight of stairs. Roe Green Infant School is a Community school, catering for children between the ages of 3 and 7. Our values are "Respectful, Creative, Resilient, An achiever, Trustworthy, Independent, Safe and Healthy, Honest, Positive, Friendly". The school has a separate nursery unit for pupils aged 3-4 years. The nursery caters to 40 children in the morning session and a further 40 children in the afternoon session. Roe Green Infant children usually progress onto Roe Green Junior School. Roe Green Junior School is a 'feeder school' for Kingsbury High School. The Department for Education states that there is a need “to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs”. At Roe Green Infant & Roe Green Strathcona School, we promote “British Values” through our spiritual, moral, social, and cultural curriculum which permeates throughout the school and helps support and nurture the “whole child”. This is demonstrated through our core Values and Ethos. Everyone at Roe Green Infant and Roe Green Strathcona embraces the core Values and Ethos and is proud to belong to the school. “At Roe Green Infant School we promote the basic British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance for those of different faiths and beliefs. “This ensures young people understand the importance of respect and leave school fully prepared for life in modern Britain.” We welcome, value, and share the cultures, traditions, and languages of all our families. We provide consistently high standards of teaching and learning and expect all children to do well. We teach children to be responsible, independent, and proud of themselves and to show respect for everyone in our community. To ensure the aims and values within the National Curriculum and the new EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) 2014 underpin all teaching and learning within the school. The importance of laws whether they are those that govern the class, the school, or the country, is consistently reinforced. Our school has ‘Classroom Rules’, which are deeply embedded in our work every day. Each class also has a traffic light system that is clearly understood by all and seen to be necessary to ensure that every class member can learn in a safe and ordered environment. Our pupils are taught the value and reasons behind laws, that they govern and protect us, the responsibilities that this involves, and the consequences when laws are broken. Respect is one of the core values of our school as can be seen on our school ethos tree. Our pupils adhere to these core values and ethos, and it is deeply embedded in all that we do at the school. The pupils know and understand that it is expected and imperative that respect is shown to everyone, whatever differences we may have and to everything, however big or small. The core value of Respect at Roe Green Infant School underpins our work every day both in and out of the classroom. Our core value of Respect ensures tolerance of those who have different faiths and beliefs. Roe Green Infant School enhances pupils' understanding of different faiths and beliefs through religious education studies, P.S.H.E. work, Inclusion week, themed faculty weeks, Language of the month, religious festival assemblies, and International evening celebrations. During Art Week the whole school has focused on a continent and each class has specifically focused on one country from that continent. Beliefs, traditions, and customs have been studied in-depth, with visitors being invited into our school to enrich and extend understanding. We have had a whole school theme on the topic of London. Through this, our pupils have gained an enhanced understanding of their place in a culturally diverse society. The school was first opened as Roe Green School on the 8th February 1932. On 11th September 1933, the junior and infant school separated to become Roe Green Infant School and Roe Green Junior School.
  5. We welcome you to Roe Green Juniors School. We hope that this will be the beginning of a happy and successful relationship where your child will develop the skills and attributes which will prepare them for a successful and fulfilling future. Our Aim is: ‘Be the Best you can Be’. Within that statement, we try to teach him or her to follow the Olympic and Paralympic values through PSHCE, the Humanities, R.E. our Behaviour policy and to follow these values in our daily lives. Olympic Values: Respect Excellence Friendship Paralympic Values: Courage Determination Inspiration Equality The Middlesex County Council in 1927 purchased about 17¾ acres in Bacon Lane, North Kingsbury. A portion of this area was appropriated as a site for an elementary school and the remainder is being used for the new buildings of the Kingsbury County School together with a playing field. The school was first open as Roe Green School on the 8th February 1932. On 11th September 1933, the junior and infant school separated to become Roe Green Infant School and Roe Green Junior School. The staff in the Junior school consisted of the Head Master, Mr. A. Johnson, and ten assistant teachers. Roe Green Junior school is a vibrant multi-cultural and multi-faith school in the very diverse London Borough of Brent. At Roe Green Juniors we respect the diversity of backgrounds of all our pupils. The acknowledgment that all people are to be valued regardless of beliefs, background, or ethnic origin is embedded in the core values that underpin our school. ‘To create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.’ Throughout their time at Roe Green Juniors, pupils are taught about the school’s core values based on the Olympic and Paralympic values, namely Courage, Friendship, Equality, Excellence, Inspiration, Determination and Respect Pupils are taught the value and reasons behind rules and laws that they govern and protect us, the responsibilities that this involves, and the consequences when laws are broken. Visits from authorities such as the police and Transport police help reinforce this message. At Roe, Green pupils are actively encouraged to make choices knowing that they are in a safe and supportive environment. Pupils are supported to develop their self-knowledge, self-esteem, and self-confidence. Pupils are encouraged to know, understand and exercise their rights and personal freedoms and advised how to exercise these safely, for example through our e-safety teaching and PSHCE lessons. Vulnerable pupils are protected and stereotypes challenged. A strong anti-bullying culture is embedded in the school and any form of bullying is challenged and addressed. The school also operates a robust system of logging incidents. At Roe Green Juniors we believe that a healthy school is successful in helping pupils to do their best and build on their achievements. We are committed to the ongoing improvement and development of children in all areas of their lives. We promote physical and emotional health by providing accessible and relevant information and equipping pupils with the skills and attitudes to make informed decisions about their health and well-being. Our school motto, ‘Be the Best You Can Be’, supports this ethos. During our last OFSTED inspection, the extent to which our pupils adopt healthy lifestyles was considered to be ‘outstanding’. We continue to make this a priority in our school and encourage children to be both physically and mentally healthy. Healthy living is explored through a variety of curriculum areas, such as Science, PSHCE, PE, and DT, as well as through themed days, visits, and workshops. For example, Year 3 undertake a healthy living day with the organization ‘A-Life,’ which looks at diet and exercise to maintain a healthy body. Children are encouraged to exercise in a variety of ways during playtimes. This includes the use of playground equipment, football, and the adventure garden. Classes have the opportunity to use guided reflection CDs which help to calm the mind and give the children time to reflect and cool down.
  6. We are an 11 – 19 high school with a thriving and successful Sixth Form. We have an intense focus on success and offer excellent facilities, together with strong academic and pastoral support. We have an outstanding team of staff who are united in encouraging students to achieve their curriculum targets and develop respect and consideration for others. This means that expectations about achievement are high and that all students are actively supported to believe that they can achieve. We are committed to producing optimistic young people who feel in control of their lives. We place a high value on our relationship with students and their parents and carers and appreciate the importance of this relationship if success is to be achieved by all. We run a fully inclusive school and recognize that everyone has a vital part to play in developing the school. The exam profile for our students rises year upon year, and we are continually striving for further improvements. We offer tremendous opportunities for our students both within the curriculum and outside. As a community school, our resources are also made available for community use through our leisure center. Newall Green High School's sixth form is aimed at meeting the needs of students who are not yet ready for the transition to larger colleges and higher-level courses. Its focus is to prepare students for progression onto further education or apprenticeships. Since our launch in September 2009, we have developed a range of excellent courses, which focus on the development of basic work-related skills and sector learning. The offer was designed to meet the needs of those 16 years olds that may not be ready for the transition to a large college or higher-level course and those not yet ready for the world of work. We recognize that some students may need a high level of support to build confidence and resilience, they may also need more guidance and help with employability and work-related learning skills. Our sixth form provision places a high emphasis on developing these skills and getting students ready for the next stage pathway. Our Profession Pathway, which in partnership with local businesses and apprenticeship providers is designed to enhance skills, develop sector-related knowledge and provide a clear route into employment or further training. It is a one-year program focusing on the development of basic work-related skills and sector learning. We utilize our outstanding facilities and draw on the expertise of our staff, many with substantial industry experience. Our Sixth Form Admissions Policy is based on the principle that there is an appropriate course or program of study accessible for all. Students, existing and prospective, are required to submit an application form and they will be offered an Information, Advice, and Guidance Meeting to help support them in deciding on a program of study that best suits their needs and future aspirations At Newall Green High School we are committed to providing high-quality educational opportunities for all our students. Newall Green High school is built on and driven by our core values represented by STRIVE. Each letter represents a different value. Our work ethic grades which are reported to parents along with progress grades also reflect STRIVE. The name highlights the need for our pupils to think about the world of work and to develop the skills required by future employees. The accompanying wording for the Work Ethic Grades makes it clear to students exactly what we expect in our lessons and around School. It is quite challenging for our pupils to achieve a grade 1 – but that is how they will achieve their full potential at Newall Green High School and be in a fantastic position to achieve well in the future. The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities and to close the gaps between them and their peers. Schools must publish annually an evaluation of their pupil premium spending for the academic year and also plans to spend for the new academic year. Our Learning 2 Learn base provides a nurturing environment within the school for students who require extra support for their social and emotional development their progress and achievement are monitored carefully using alternative, nationally developed systems. The SENDCo and other staff consult with parents and students to design Student Profiles showing how best to support individual children we are happy to meet with parents regularly outside of Reviews and Parents Evenings. Students need to make sure they keep themselves safe at all times when online. The policy below is for school and gives you some guidelines. If you are worried about anything when using the internet then tell someone in your family or at school.
  7. Newall Green Primary School is a community school for children aged 3 through to the transfer to secondary school-aged 11 years. Set in extensive tree-lined grounds on a very attractive parkland site, in the Wythenshawe district of Manchester offering approximately 700 places for children. Being a large school means that we can offer each child a lot of opportunities but we also pride ourselves that each child is treated as an individual. This is born out by being a partner in the Lancasterian School Barrier-Free initiative, which means that Newall Green Primary School is proud to be able to offer places to pupils with disabilities. We value children in their own right and show respect for their values, culture, and religious beliefs. Newall Green Primary School is one of the largest primary schools in Manchester. It is very important to us that the school retains the friendly 'family feel' that can be found in Primary Schools which are much smaller in size. We are proud of our commitment to raising standards for all our pupils and ensuring that all have the opportunity to reach their full potential. We promote a caring, learning community, where everyone is encouraged, valued, and may flourish. We provide guidance and support for our pupils and their families. There is strong pastoral care from all staff and everyone has a valuable contribution to make to the success of our school. At Newall Green Primary School we want every child and family to work in a supportive, inclusive school so that they make outstanding progress from their starting point. Each child will develop their core skills through a curriculum that promotes Social, Moral, Spiritual, and Cultural development using ‘Peace Mala’ and ‘PATHs.’ This will be embedded in a curriculum that holds outdoor learning central to its focus. As the Admissions Authority for the community and voluntary controlled schools in Manchester, the LA is required to draft, consult on, and determine their admission arrangements. Where there are more applicants than places available the LA will apply the admission arrangements to decide which applicants will be offered places. Admission arrangements for voluntary aided schools, foundation schools, free schools, and academies are set by their Governing Body, who are, the Admission Authority for their establishment. They are responsible for drafting, consulting on, and determining their admission arrangements. Copies of admissions arrangements for these types of schools/academies in Manchester can be found on the school/academy website and the LA’s website. They are also available on request from the relevant school/academy and the LA. All parents/carers are required to apply to their home LA regardless of where the school/academy they are applying to is situated. Manchester residents will apply to Manchester LA. The LA will liaise with other Admissions Authorities in Manchester and other LAs where required. Manchester LA will inform parents/carers in writing of the outcome of their application. A Published Admission Number (PAN) is the number of places a school/academy has in the year of entry. Places will normally only be offered up to the published admission number. A child cannot be refused admission to the normal year of entry on the grounds of prejudice to the provision of efficient education and efficient use of resources unless the published admission number has been reached. Outside of the year of entry, it is expected that the PAN will continue to be applied. However, if circumstances at the school/academy have changed since the year of entry, a place may be refused even if the admission number has not been reached. Our curriculum has our children at its heart. We believe in an exciting and engaging curriculum that is stimulating, challenging, and fun, and a curriculum that offers our children a wealth of experiences and new challenges. On this page, you can find details for each school year. This is in line with DfE's expectations of schools from September 2014. Each child will develop their core skills through a curriculum that promotes Social, Moral, Spiritual, and Cultural development using 'Peace Mala' and 'PATHS'. This will be embedded within a curriculum that holds outdoor learning central to its focus. An integral part of this policy is to ensure that our children are protected from being drawn into terrorism or associated activities. We make certain of this through our robust safeguarding systems. Any children at risk of such activities will be identified and the correct support put into place. All our staff are aware of their responsibilities in the safeguarding of children and will ensure that this responsibility is thoroughly adhered to. The DfE have recently reinforced the need “to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.”

  11. Green Mountain College prepares students for fulfilling lives by taking the goal of creating just and sustainable societies as the unifying theme for its interdisciplinary graduate and undergraduate liberal arts education. The College fosters environmental and personal responsibility, civic engagement, entrepreneurial spirit, and global understanding. At Green Mountain College, we blend the best of classroom theory with practical, hands-on experience. The result is a deeper kind of learning that gives you a leg up in the working world. Students and faculty work together on research projects with real outcomes, like our design/build class, which built a solar garage that charges an electric tractor for use on the farm. Every student gets to vote on the next sustainability ideas to be implemented at the College. You will have opportunities for fieldwork at our student-run farm great internship sites like Greenpeace, Killington Ski Resort, or the Office of Senator Bernie Sanders. It is your world—and it is “the real world,” long before you graduate. With a curriculum built on a framework of social, economic, and environmental sustainability, you will learn the practical skills you need for the workplace and how to live a purposeful life. Ninety-five percent of graduates say they are doing work that they find meaningful. They are prepared for careers in today’s fastest-growing fields, including the green jobs sector. Our graduates do what they love, and the rewards follow. Here, the classroom is more than a place to sit and take notes. It is where you connect, engage, and collaborate with the world’s foremost sustainability experts—your professors. Beyond the classroom, you can expect to work and learn one on one with faculty. They get to know you here, and many become mentors for life. As you hone into your major and prepare for your future career, our Career, Advising, and Teaching (CAT) Center will support you with internships, resume building support, and practice with interviews. To understand who we are — a community working to bring positive change to the world — helps to know who we once were, and how we began, where this tree grew roots. And that place is Vermont – home to a fierce streak of independence, respect for difference, and connection to the natural, intellectual, and spiritual world. Dig under the soil, and you discover our roots intertwined with the stories of those who made their mark on history, like Horace Greeley, who founded the New York Herald Tribune, and who learned the printing trade at a newspaper in East Poultney. The tavern where he lived, the school where he gave his first speech — they still stand here today. As a national reformer, freethinker, and activist, his legacy dovetails with our school's can-do spirit and Vermont. Or John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, whose forward-thinking belief inaccessible education and women’s empowerment, echoes our global responsibility and public service mission. With historical ties to the United Methodist Church, Green Mountain College promotes respect for lifelong learning, human spirituality, gender equality, and our planet. We teach students that history is made by those who lead, like Poultney's settlers, who built one of Vermont’s first libraries. So we transform this inspiration into action, become the first EPA Energy Star campus in the nation, and first reach climate neutrality through clean energy, efficiency, and carbon offsets because this is our history, our roots, your future. Green Mountain College is a place where every academic field is integrated with a focus on sustainability. Here, students lead, teachers guide, and hands-on learning comes to life. Regardless of major, you and your peers complete our Environmental Liberal Arts sequence. This cross-disciplinary program prepares you for a career in today’s fastest-growing fields, including the green jobs sector. You can select from 23 academic majors and 36 minors, or craft your self-designed major through our Progressive Program. Green Mountain College is a small environmental liberal arts college located in Vermont’s beautiful Lakes Region and less than 40 minutes from Vermont’s premier ski resort, Killington Mountain. The campus sits at the intersection of College Street and Main Street in Poultney. A diverse and committed board of trustees with national and regional perspectives sets the overall strategic direction. It ensures the financial and organizational success of the College in achieving its mission. Faculty, staff, and students share in the day-to-day governance of the College. Openness and transparency are essential factors in the goal of creating an atmosphere of respect and equality. The Student Senate, which meets weekly in an open-forum setting, has substantial authority to oversee its internal operations and regularly collaborates with the administration, Staff Assembly, and Faculty Council. Students are often involved in search and other committees. The Faculty Council meets monthly in advance of campus faculty meetings, and faculty forums on research in progress and issues related to teaching are held regularly. The Staff Assembly likewise holds monthly meetings and collaborates with sister organizations. The tradition of holding open meetings for all GMC community members, called “community conversations,” happens at least once a semester. View full university

Our School Values: Support each other and celebrate success Have respect and tolerance for ourselves and each other Be honest Be kind to others Have self-discipline Be responsible for yourself and your actions Are polite and considerate Work well in a team Work hard to do your best You must regularly talk to your children about how to keep safe when accessing the online world. Children must understand that internet use is underpinned by trust but at the same time, children should understand that there are consequences for misuse of this technology. All children at Woodford Green Primary have the opportunity to work with computers and digital equipment from age four to eleven. They are taught how to use ICT tools safely to find, explore, analyze and present information responsibly and creatively to advance their learning across the curriculum. While technology can help us communicate, do work, learn and have fun, it is also important to remember that technology can potentially be dangerous. We recognize the importance of educating children and young people in using these technologies safely. This is achieved by ensuring children within our school understand the benefits and risks of using this technology. We provide safeguards and awareness for users to enable them to control their online experiences. View full school

Our children bring with them a wide range of personal experiences and many are new learners of English. Their hunger for learning is evident in all that they do they are bright, engaging, and fun children who are developing a true sense of their selves and are beginning to take responsibility for their futures. We know that to secure a bright future, our children must have excellent literacy and numeracy skills as well as being confident and considerate members of our community. We believe that all of our children should learn to read fluently and avidly, write confidently and effectively and work with numbers accurately and efficiently. Our children have daily lessons in Maths, English, and Reading, and other subjects are taught through topics where possible, for example, History, Geography, Science and Art. Other subjects such as ICT and RE and PE are taught discretely. We use the Read Write Inc Programme to develop our children’s phonic knowledge and to teach them how to decode, blend and segment. Children begin this program in Nursery and receive daily lessons in both the Early Years and Key Stage 1. Children are grouped according to reading ability and are assessed on a half-termly basis. Once our children have completed the phonics program they begin the Language and Literacy program which teaches all elements of the English Curriculum, including Spelling Punctuation, and Grammar. All children receive a daily hour-long lesson on this subject. An additional skills session takes place daily to provide our children with a further opportunity to develop their reading and writing skills. The needs of our various cohorts are taken into account when planning these sessions. Our children also take home appropriate reading books daily and we encourage parents and siblings to read together as often as possible. For children who are struggling to learn to read fluently, we offer a range of proven interventions. These interventions are monitored closely and progress is carefully tracked. We follow the new National Curriculum across Key Stages 1 and 2. This year we have introduced the Maths Mastery Programme in Reception and Year 1 and plan to roll this program into Year 2 as of September 2015. Maths Mastery aims to develop children’s deep understanding of mathematics. They explore mathematical concepts in depth using objects, conversation, and problem-solving to build confidence in their understanding of Maths. The 3 key elements of Maths Mastery sessions are objects and pictures, language development, and problem-solving. From Years 2 to 6, the teaching of mathematics includes using and applying mathematics, counting and understanding numbers, knowing and understanding number facts, calculating, understanding shape, measuring, and handling data. It is hoped that through practical experience and discussion each child will gain confidence and develop mathematical awareness at his or her level of understanding. At West Green Primary School we promote the British values of: Democracy Rule of Law Individual Liberty Respect and Tolerance View full school
  21. Vicar’s Green Primary School is an outstanding school with a 52 place Nursery and two form schools up to and including Year 5 and one Year 6 class. Our 1930's original building has recently been completely refurbished and has had a modern extension providing us with dedicated music and art rooms and a second hall. We are fortunate to still have lots of green space with a MUGA, three playgrounds, an orchard, an outdoor classroom, and a growing area with raised vegetable plots. Our teaching staff, support staff, and governors work in partnership with parents and carers and the wider community to ensure the success of our pupils and provide a safe and happy environment where they can achieve their full potential. Our school motto written by our pupils is: Believe Achieve Succeed. We celebrate and learn about a different value each month. Our values are displayed on the Vicar's Green Values Tree on a display board in the school. Our values include Freedom, Respect, Responsibility, Team Work, Empathy, Perseverance, Equality, Tolerance, Honesty, Compassion, Courage, and Peace. By The Department for Education, we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races, and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law. The Key Values are: Democracy Rule of law Individual liberty Mutual respect Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs Our newly formed Friends of Vicar's Green group is being led by Mrs. E Balodimou one of our Parent Governors. Everyone is automatically a member but if you want to join in with the small group of parents and carers who have joined together with Mrs. Balodimou to organize events for the children please contact the school. Our annual parent survey was sent out in December 2017 to all our parents and carers. The response was good, we received 167 completed questionnaires. From the whole school responses received we have been able to extract data showing the results specifically received from families who have children with special educational needs. View full school
  22. Turves Green Girls’ School is a community that typifies the best in our society. Our pupils are keen, resilient learners, ambitious for themselves and the future of their area. They bring energy and creativity to all they do, and we are rightly proud of them. Our staff works as a team. We are driven by a sense that the young people we serve deserve the very best education we can provide. Our senior leaders and the Governing Board understand that our teachers and support staff are the key to unlocking our young people’s potential, and therefore we place the welfare and professional development of our staff as central. We are building our success outward from a very simple premise: everyone is important. As a small school, we value every individual. We nurture individual talents and structure support to meet individual needs. Our success, recognized by our recent OFSTED, is based on being a caring community. As a single-sex school, we can create an environment where excellence is applauded not mocked. In 2015, for example, saw our Year 11 Netball Team win not just the District championship but the County championships as well. Our exam results since 2010 have regularly scored amongst the best in South Birmingham. We are an outward-facing school. Partnerships with other schools, colleges, universities, charities, and businesses offer our young people opportunities to develop their academic interests, explore new experiences, and investigate career pathways. As a cooperative school, we are part of a cooperative school family which shares our values. It is our aim that Turves Green pupils, after five happy and challenging productive years with us, should leave our school as well-qualified young adults who have a broad outlook, concern, and respect for others, and self-confidence which will enable them to be successful in achieving their goals and fulfilling their ambitions and to play a valuable part in the future of their world. Our vision is to provide for our young people the very best teaching and a supportive environment where their talents are nurtured and insecurities overcome. We will support the young people of our community throughout their childhoods to build their aspirations and ensure their needs are met. We work to put our school at the heart of the community. By working together with other schools and agencies we have a greater capacity for success. Through our cooperative ethos, we pool our efforts, ideas, and enthusiasm to support our young people and their families in ways that would not be possible on our own. As educators, learners, parents, young people, and the wider community, we draw upon both our strength and the expertise of partner organizations. We work to give parents, pupils, staff, and the wider community a strong voice in the development of education and services in the area. The children in our area deserve the very best education and we will strive to deliver it. We are their champions. Together, we succeed. Aims: To enable our pupils to be strong and independent – able to form healthy and respectful relationships, able to safeguard themselves and each other from exploitation and violent extremism, and able to stand up for British and cooperative values. To secure the highest possible academic standards and levels of challenge for our pupils and to prepare our pupils for the constantly changing challenges of life and work after school. To provide a curriculum that is broad, balanced, and relevant to each pupil, providing a breadth of experiences and allowing pupils to discover their passions. To create a happy and positive learning environment, fostering mutual respect, consideration for others, and personal responsibility. To be committed to developing positive relationships with parents, promoting education as a partnership between home and school. To provide a school-based experience for all our pupils which promotes equality of opportunity and seeks to overcome barriers to their achievement. To prepare our pupils for life after school so they can access the best opportunities in further education and the world of work. We achieve this by working closely with colleges and employers in addition to providing excellent independent careers advice. To encourage our pupils to be creative, resilient, and independent learners. To establish effective working relationships with other professionals for the benefit of all. We work with partner schools, particularly Turves Green Boys’ School and Cofton Primary School to improve all of our schools. To promote Turves Green Girls’ School as part of the wider community, through the implementation of our cooperative values, specifically our commitment to democracy. To provide a safe and caring environment in which all pupils can make a positive contribution to their learning, school, and community. To provide the best possible environment and inspirational teaching by using current technology and new approaches in the classroom. Here at Turves Green Girls’ School, we pride ourselves on the high quality of teaching delivered by our staff and the fantastic opportunities this gives to all our pupils, whatever their ability. We aim to develop this love of learning by ensuring TGGS lessons are well matched to the needs of our pupils, engaging and challenging. We encourage our pupils to be brave and take a chance in their lessons, to try to be resilient if they make a mistake as this is what will help them make progress. View full school
  23. View full school
  24. View full school
  25. Established in 1998 and located in El-Obour City. The Green Valley School (GVS) is a prominent private educational institute, catering for children from kindergarten (KG) to Thanaweya Amma/ (IGCSE). GVS exposes children to a mixture of cultures through the teaching of Arabic, English, and German all in parallel. The GVS environment is set to ensure that children are motivated, interested, and confident. They are secure enough to escape their comfort zone yet disciplined to adhere to boundaries. GVS dedicates itself to developing open-minded and lifelong learners through its diverse and challenging educational system. Through its distinctive trilingual education, GVS provides its students with the tool needed to challenge convention and to establish new benchmarks which allow students to be part of a world with no limits. For a child, learning a second or a third language is not more difficult than learning just one. Learning new languages at young ages is greatly beneficial not only because of the children’s receptivity to such but also because of how languages differ from each other. This further boosts the child’s understanding of these languages. Learning German alongside English, the child’s understanding and appreciation of German is further enhanced. Other benefits of learning three languages simultaneously are vast Children’s creative thinking skills and cognitive flexibility are developed dramatically traits that GVS finds particularly important. Through the study of these languages, students are exposed and asked to master different contexts of communication. They are required to do so regularly and this develops their communication skills considerably. Bilingual/Trilingual teaching will also stimulate a child’s urge to expose oneself to diversity and discomfort experienced. In addition, a multilingual environment exposes a child to a variety of unlike cultures. He will be exposed to unusual perspectives and ways of thinking and will come to truly appreciate his home culture. These endeavors inspire our vision: "TO BECOME AN AUTHENTIC TRILINGUAL SCHOOL" This vision has shaped the education provided by the school since it was founded. It is a vision that continues to dictate every aspect of school life today. Arabic, English, and German are taught in parallel. Every effort is made to develop students’ sensitivity and fluency in these languages and to ensure that they receive full benefit from their extensive linguistic education. GVS is committed to providing distinctive high-quality education with an emphasis on languages to meet the educational needs of the international and national community while preserving the Egyptian identity - at a reasonable cost".
