      About Me

      1. Situated on a unique, 270-hectare campus in the heart of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, Treverton School is a Christian boarding school catering for boys and girls from Grades 000 to 12 as well as our G.A.P. Year program. An Independent Private School, Treverton is in membership with the Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa. The Preparatory School opened in 1964 with 51 pupils under the headmastership of Derek Hudson-Reed, who took the school through to the first Matric class in 1970. The commitment and resolve of these men who became founder governors were to increase the size of the school property and establish a high school. The Mooi River Municipality donated 73 acres of adjoining land and a neighboring farm was purchased. It has been the fundamental aim of Treverton, from its inception, to provide what it does with values that are centrally focused around a strong Christian Ethos. Treverton, therefore, aims to encourage pupils to reach their fullest potential academically, to develop to their highest level of sporting excellence, and also to nurture a third important area – the spiritual aspect. Our Mission is to provide a balanced all-around quality education based on a strong Christian foundation. Treverton has developed a national and international ‘name’ as a significant leader in environmental education and for their commitment to their environment. Long before environmental education was either a component of the curriculum or a popular additional activity at schools, Treverton was leading the way in this field. Their involvement has not only been at a school level but has also incorporated a local focus with a national and international involvement. Our children are nurtured and taught in a highly professional environment that presents them with opportunities that enable the development of these vital life skills as well as those scholastic skills required in preparation for their journey through their high school years and beyond. The outdoor classroom permeates our curriculum in every grade. An Environmental Education program that enriches the languages, Mathematics, and Social and Natural Science syllabi expand children’s horizons and create and stimulates the sense of wonder and inquiry that enhances their appreciation of the world in which they are preparing to make their way. Every classroom is equipped with interactive whiteboards connected to the school’s IT network and with two computer labs available for formal instruction, research, and consolidation, the teaching and learning environment is stimulating and vibrant. You are strongly encouraged to involve yourself with your child’s academic progress and the following channels of communication are the correct ones to follow. If you have a specific subject-related concern, please contact the subject teacher first. Thereafter the subject head may be consulted if you deem it necessary. For academic queries of a more general nature, the Academic Head or the appropriate Grade Head should be contacted. Treverton is committed to keeping you well-informed about your child’s academic progress. A termly report will be e-mailed to you and teachers will enlighten you as early as possible if a negative academic pattern is developing. The key to academic success is committed teachers and hard-working pupils, both of which are characteristic of Treverton. Reporting on pupils’ academic progress is done at the end of each of the 4 terms. It is worth noting that the June and December reports carry a significantly greater weighting as they incorporate exam marks as well as term marks. Treverton believes in continuous assessment and pupils are regularly assessed using projects, class activities, class tests, as well as control tests. The school needs to have your correct e-mail address to ensure that you receive your child’s reports. Pupils are encouraged to participate in as wide a variety of sports as possible and to develop a love for competing, doing one’s best, winning or losing well, and everything that goes with team participation (working together, achieving a common goal, camaraderie, working through differences and celebrating each other’s highs and lows). Treverton offers a beautiful setting with wide-open spaces to get involved and experience all the exciting opportunities that are on offer. Visual Art at Treverton integrates the study of South African and International Art history and contemporary concepts/ art practices, with the teaching of a broad range of traditional and non-traditional art disciplines (including drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, installation, and sculpture). Beginning in Grade 10 the students are introduced to a variety of mediums and subject matter, with an emphasis on the development of their drawing skills, and personal visual language. The students then specialize in the medium of their choice at the end of Grade 11 and develop a portfolio into their matric year. Treverton Visual art students participate in several exhibitions and competitions, as well as field trips to a variety of professional artist’s studios and local galleries. Trips further afield are also organized, to stay up to date with the contemporary South African Art industry. The students are also encouraged to utilize their skills for the benefit of their wider community, participating in set building, mural paintings, and other projects. View full school
      2. The LPS has adapted a "Paideia" philosophy and modified it to suit our Australian context. "Paideia" is a Greek word that relates to the upbringing of a child and conveys the concept of a child's total education – intellectual, artistic, emotional, physical, and social. It is a very democratic approach to teaching and learning that seeks to equip young people with all the social skills and knowledge they need to become caring and active citizens of the world. The Paideia philosophy is founded upon one essential principle - that the same course of basic schooling should be provided to all students. This objective is based on the premise that what is common to all human beings is more fundamental than how they differ. We share a common humanity, personal dignity, human rights, and aspirations. This principle is not in conflict with our school's focus on the individual but rather is supported by it. In terms of the context of a Paideia program, all students share the same opportunities and experiences. However, this does not mean that every child will go through the program at the same time or the same pace. The Paideia Method outlines three streams of teaching and learning by which its objectives can be best met. They are Didactic instruction, Coaching, Socratic questioning. Didactic instruction is the “chalk and talks” method of teaching and learning, where the teacher has a body of knowledge to convey and the students learn by listening. This form of instruction certainly has its place, although at The Launceston Preparatory School it will not always be to a class as a whole but also smaller groups. In Australia today, researchers estimate that an average of approximately 70% of the time at school is spent on this model, under the Paideia philosophy, however, this proportion is drastically reduced to around 20% of schooling time. This is an aspect of Paideia strongly supported by the school. Consistent with the Paideia method, we spend most of our time in Coaching, believing that children learn best by “doing”. This mode allows teaching to be most constructive and learning to be most lasting because children are practicing the skills they need under the eye of a coach, who will refine, support, and re-teach each student as necessary. About 70% of our time is spent in this column of teaching and learning, which allows us most effectively focus on individual needs. It is the third strand of the Paideia method the Socratic questioning that most clearly distinguishes it from others. Socrates used to teach the young men of Greece by “drawing out of them what they already knew” rather than by telling them things. So too do we encourage children to consider issues and develop values by exposing them to ideas and drawing from them their own opinions through carefully constructed questioning. A Socratic strand runs through all our teaching, but the Socratic Seminar with the teacher facilitating the thought-provoking question has the greatest capacity to transform the nature of the students because A bond of mutual respect is created between all Each student must learn to think critically, understand ideas, solve problems, make decisions, resolve conflicts and apply their knowledge to the situation. Thus articulation, listening, and critical thinking skills are improved. View full school
      3. Florida Prep is a premier day and boarding school in Melbourne, Florida. We are a coeducational college-prep school for grades 5-12. Florida Prep values integrity, community, and scholarship at every level. Set in 11 acres of lush tropical landscape, the Florida Prep campus boasts a full-sized sports field, baseball nets, gymnasium, outdoor concert area, tennis courts, landscaped gardens, and many locations to gather, chat, or seek solitude. Our campus features a large, open grassy play area that allows for unstructured fun and activities, such as playing ball or tag and lots of space in which to enjoy the company of their peers and develop social and language skills. In 1925, Ernest Kouwen-Hoven erected the first building on what is now the Florida Preparatory Academy campus. It was a magnificent Spanish Mediterranean-style mansion, complete with an authentic Art Deco interior. He used the mansion as his home for only one year before selling it in 1926 to A.S. Widrig, who added extra rooms to it and renamed the property "The Lincoln Hotel." In 1957, The Lincoln Hotel was sold to August J. Rimer, the original owner of the Green Bay Packers. He renamed the hotel "The Barcelona." In 1961, Mr. Rimer sold The Barcelona Hotel to Mr. Jonathan Dwight, an educator and aviation enthusiast from New Jersey. Several months later, with his wife Emmy Dwight, he founded Florida Air Academy, a military-style college preparatory school for young men. In the fall of 2005, the Academy began accepting female students in both boarding and day capacities. The girls made an excellent contribution to the school and raised the bar academically. There have been five female valedictorians since the school became coeducational. In 2011, Florida Air Academy celebrated its 50th Anniversary year. Four years later in June of 2015, FAA became Florida Preparatory Academy (Florida Prep) to more accurately reflect its college preparatory identity. The AFJROTC program became an optional elective instead of a requirement. The flight program continues to offer students the opportunity to study to obtain their private pilot's license at age 16! The Academy is now undergoing another change in identity. In 2017 the school was purchased by a California-based investment company, New open USA. As a result, major investment in campus technology, the expansion of the campus footprint, and dormitory refurbishment is currently underway. Several new support programs, including SAT and ACT prep, are being introduced, and a new academic STEAM-focused curriculum, designed to utilize our new campus facilities, is in the pipeline. An active faculty recruitment drive is yielding top-class talent from within the USA and beyond. Academics, leadership, character, and preparing students for college and a global business environment continue to be our primary focus. The mission of Florida Prep is to prepare each student for college success and beyond in a way that leads to personal wisdom and integrity, cross-cultural partnerships and a global vision, and service to others, society, and the environment. That means that your choice of a high school will affect you not only for the next four years, but it will help to set the direction for your entire adult life. Luther Prep offers many things that Christian young people and their parents value. Luther Preparatory School is a four-year secondary school owned and operated by the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. It offers a challenging college preparatory curriculum in grades 9-12 to students who are considering the full-time pastoral or teaching ministry as their life’s work. Luther Preparatory School is the oldest Lutheran high school in the United States. It traces its history to its founding on this campus in 1865 as the prep department of Northwestern College. The prep department was given its own identity in 1974 as Northwestern Preparatory School. Luther Prep today is the result of a merger of Northwestern Preparatory School of Watertown, Wisconsin, and Martin Luther Preparatory School of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Martin Luther Preparatory School had been established in 1979 when Martin Luther Academy was moved from its original home on the campus of Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota, and when Northwestern Lutheran Academy in Mobridge, South Dakota, was closed. Luther Preparatory School is the successor school to those prep schools which have preceded it and can readily claim the heritage and history of these schools as its own. View full school

      9. Malvern Preparatory School is an Augustinian School, Catholic and Independent for boys in grades 6 through 12, located in the Greater Philadelphia suburb of Malvern, Pa. We are committed to the Augustinian values of Veritas, Unitas, and Caritas, meaning Truth, Unity, and Love. An Augustinian School, Catholic and Independent, Living the Augustinian spirit of Veritas, Unitas, and Caritas Malvern is dedicated to the pursuit of Truth through academic excellence and the growth of each of its students so that he is prepared fully for college and a life of integrity and courageous leadership. Seeking oneness of mind and heart in the journey toward God, Malvern strives to build a diverse community in which a caring faculty works with parents and students to instill in everyone a personal responsibility for the common good. Inspired by Christ, the Malvern Tradition invites each individual to grow and give in a family distinguished by the respect, challenge, service, and exceptional love. Our beliefs: St. Augustine is not just our founding father, but an active influence within our community. Every course a student takes at Malvern Prep should allow him to get to know more about himself. Outstanding coursework includes a balance of both content and skills. Hard work, not busy work. Rigor is a function of how much we ask a student to think, not how much we ask him to complete. Feedback is a powerful tool in enhancing the learning experience for all community members. We believe boys learn better in an environment where each student can be empathetic to one another where boys can work on their sense of self and where boys can just be boys among their brothers. Independent or private schools provide more support, more educational opportunities, and individual attention for each student to grow into the person they are meant to be. As a Catholic, Augustinian educational institution for young men, Malvern Prep endeavors to integrate St. Augustine's values of Truth, Unity, and Love into all that we do. Like St. Augustine, we believe that God is the Father of all creation. This is why Malvern Prep celebrates diversity in the Church and the world. We especially strive to emulate Jesus Christ and St. Augustine's inclusion of and support for underrepresented peoples. Accordingly, at Malvern, we welcome diversity of all types and integrate our commitment to diversity into the day-to-day academic, athletic, social, and spiritual development of every member of the Malvern community. As one part of this effort, we are committed to increasing the diversity of our faculty, staff, and student body. As another part of this effort, we are committed to an interdisciplinary, multicultural curriculum. Our Augustinian values guide the ways by which we deliver such a curriculum to students of all walks of life: TRUTH: Our educators emphasize creative and respectful engagement with all perspectives. Creative and respectful engagement enables every intellectual tradition, cultural heritage, social group, or philosophical stance to journey closer to the Truth. UNITY: Our educators emphasize giving voice to, and listening to, diverse members as a way to build unity. By including all members as partners, Malvern forms leaders for an ever-changing global environment. LOVE: Our educators emphasize the creation of a welcoming and loving environment. A loving atmosphere best helps students acquire knowledge. That knowledge subsequently grows into wisdom through cooperative, respectful and lively exchanges among many cultures and social groups. We are confident that our commitment to Diversity, through St. Augustine's values, will ensure that we continue to provide a positive experience to a diverse student body, their families, and employees from all walks of life. 10. Saint Ignatius College Prep, a Jesuit Catholic school in the heart of Chicago, is a diverse community dedicated to educating young men and women for lives of faith, love, service, and leadership. Through outstanding teaching and personal formation, the school challenges its talented student body to intellectual excellence, integrity, and life-long learning and growth. Inspired by the gospel of Jesus Christ, this community strives to use God's gifts to promote social justice for the greater glory of God. The graduate will have examined his or her religious feelings and beliefs to choose a fundamental orientation toward God and establish a relationship with a religious tradition and community. S/he is beginning to take more responsibility for exploring, confirming, and living out of his or her faith. The graduate is on the threshold of being able to move beyond self-interest or self-centeredness in relationships with others. He or she is beginning to be able to risk some deeper levels of relationship in which one can disclose self and accept the mystery of another person and cherish that person. He or she has personally experienced moments of God’s love. The graduate is coming to know, accept, and love themself as a person worthy of love. The Ignatius student at the time of graduation has matured as a person emotionally, intellectually, physically, socially, and religiously to a level that reflects some intentional responsibility for one’s growth. The Ignatius student at graduation has achieved considerable knowledge of some of the many needs of local and wider communities and is preparing for the day when he or she will take a place in these communities as a competent, concerned, and responsible member. The graduate will exhibit a mastery of those academic requirements for advanced forms of education. The graduate moreover is beginning to see the need for intellectual integrity in his or her quest for religious truth and his or her response to issues of social justice. Diversity is more than skin deep. Although most people assume that diversity refers to addressing issues for people of non-Caucasian background, ethnicity is one aspect of diversity. The umbrella of diversity refers to issues about ethnicity, race, language, religion, gender, socioeconomic background, sexual orientation, body image, appearance, personality, intellectual ability, physical ability, and political beliefs. Our student body is 1400 strong and comes to us from seven counties and three states. We are faithful stewards of the educational mission given by Jesus Christ to His disciples when He told them: “Go and make disciples of all nations”. We are part of the great worldwide network of Jesuit schools reaching back many centuries with a proven course of study. View full school
      11. St. Paul Preparatory School is a private high school. It is an Advanced accredited, college preparatory school enrolling students in grades 9-12. St. Paul Prep is located in St. Paul, MN. St. Paul Preparatory School prepares our international student body for success in a global society by offering a college/university preparatory education, comprehensive language instruction, and cultural exchange opportunities. St. Paul Preparatory School offers students a unique educational experience through every facet of our program. Students come to St. Paul Prep to prepare for their futures while learning more about the world, and ultimately themselves. Our curriculum provides students with quality, college preparatory academics and enrichment through the arts and physical education. Our classes are taught from a culturally relativistic perspective and take advantage of the wealth of diversity within our student body. Through our course offerings, we meet the educational needs of a wide range of students, from those with limited English ability to those requiring substantial academic rigor. As an added benefit, St. Paul Prep students may be eligible to enroll in university courses during their 11th and 12th-grade years. St. Paul Prep teachers share a passion for working with students from around the world. Our small classes allow us to provide students with individualized instruction. The majority of our faculty members hold a Master’s degree or higher, and many have professional career experience beyond the classroom. We truly care about the well-being of our students and offer them a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment in which to learn. We seek to provide students with opportunities for the development of self-awareness, social consciousness, leadership skills, and creativity through our enrichment activities, clubs, and study abroad programs. We also recognize the importance of providing our students with an enjoyable and memorable high school experience and promote positive interaction through field trips, dances, and other social events. Students are encouraged to take an active role in shaping the culture and climate of St. Paul Prep, ensuring that it is a comfortable place to grow and learn. In the past 10 years, we have seen our school grow from 21 students to more than 245 students representing nearly 30 countries. During these years, we have seen the school move from a small space at Hamline University to a large school complex in downtown St. Paul, with additional classroom space on the campus of the University of Saint Thomas, Minnesota. Our locations offer extensive opportunities for our students to learn about and experience American culture at its best. At SPP, we emphasize strong academics and promote the practical application of academic excellence and cultural understanding. We teach our students the critical, analytical, and technical skills necessary to succeed in tomorrow’s globalized world. Through daily interaction with other cultures, our students develop skills: they cooperate despite major cultural differences, they cognitively integrate this cultural understanding into their worldview, and they practically apply this into their daily actions and decision-making. To support these skill sets, we have an excellent faculty and staff with a broad range of outstanding educational and professional backgrounds. St. Paul Preparatory School is also part of the larger global organization Nacel Open Door, Inc. as the original school in the Nacel International School System (NISS). NISS is our international school district currently made up of 16 schools located in China, South Korea, the Philippines, the U.S., France, Vietnam, Poland, and Turkey. The benefit of attending a high school within the NISS family is that all of the schools apply the same curricula and standards, allowing our students to study abroad without losing time or credits. At St. Paul Preparatory School, we believe that students must be culturally literate and competent problem-solvers. Our curriculum emphasizes the development of critical thinking skills and intercultural learning within a college preparatory academic framework. We also recognize the benefits of the non-formal learning that students gain from their daily interactions. SPP values individualized learning. Our average class size is 20 students. The small classes create an environment conducive to personal interaction between students and teachers and provide the opportunity for students to explore topics of personal interest. Teachers can focus on the individual instructional needs of their students, particularly those with developing abilities in English. Our students have interests as diverse as the cultures they represent, but they come together in their goal of achieving success in a global society. Our international student body is truly unique to the St. Paul community, and our students learn what it means to be a global citizen first-hand in their everyday interactions. Our small class sizes, individualized learning pathways, and experienced faculty help students prepare for success in college/university and beyond, teaching them to be culturally literate and competent problem-solvers. We encourage individualized learning with internship opportunities throughout the community, PSEO options, and advanced placement classes. View full school
      12. The Catholic Faith is the most important aspect of St. Michael's Preparatory School, which is run by the Norbertine Fathers of St. Michael's Abbey. Located on the grounds of a thriving Roman Catholic monastery in Southern California, the students attend daily Mass, nightly Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and are given 4 years of solid Catholic instruction. During their Junior Year, St. Michael's students visit Rome, the heart of the Catholic world, for two weeks. The number one reason parents send their sons to St. Michael's Preparatory is to be formed in the Catholic Faith. St. Michael's Preparatory School ranks among the top 50 Catholic high schools in the nation. It is the only boarding school on that list. One hundred percent of our graduates go on to higher learning. With a teacher/student ratio of 1:4, every St. Michael student receives an almost personalized academic instruction. St. Michael's Preparatory offers a classical curriculum, including the study of Latin, Logic, and Philosophy. St. Michael's boarding school environment and its single-gender education provide a rich culture that both supports and challenges its students. Living together, studying together, and growing up together, all under the watchful care of Norbertine Priests, the students of St. Michael's Preparatory reach a level of maturity that far surpasses that of their peers. A full sports program rounds off the St.Michael education. All St. Michael’s students plan on going to college. College counseling at St. Michael’s, therefore, focuses on college readiness (in terms of standardized testing), individual and group advisement regarding college choice, and financial aid support for both the student and his family throughout the college decision-making and application process. Individual student appointments during the junior and senior years assist students in doing online college searches and in determining which colleges the student will apply to. Juniors and seniors go on a formal tour of a local college, attend a College Fair Night, and hear presentations by college reps who visit St. Michael’s during the school year. Students may research individual colleges by viewing the college file and scholarship notebook available in the school library. St. Michael’s Preparatory School witnesses to the fullness of the Catholic faith and teaches infidelity to a sound Catholic intellectual tradition. St. Michael’s is exclusively a boarding school for boys, grades nine through twelve, who are capable of benefiting from and contributing to its spiritual and academic community. The School provides the academic attainments necessary for acceptance to a four-year college or undergraduate program at a university in the United States of America. St. Michael’s is served by Norbertine priests and seminarians and by a committed lay faculty and staff. View full school

It is flanked by The Royal Botanical Gardens and The River Thames and we use these regularly along with the green itself. Children thrive in an environment that is loving and supportive. Our aim is that they leave as skilled and adaptable young citizens who will grow to meet the challenges of the 21st century. We believe in a broad and balanced curriculum, nurturing creativity, and the development of high self-esteem in each child. We enthusiastically share our children’s education with their parents through our “open door policy”. Kew Green is a thriving school community where laughter and enjoyment go hand in hand with the process of delivering a first-rate education. Kew College is a non-selective, family-oriented, co-educational, independent school for children from 3 to 11 years of age. It is advisable to register your child for entry to the Nursery as soon as possible. You may register your child from birth. Registered siblings are given priority. Non-registered siblings cannot be guaranteed a place in the school. Priority is also given to children of former Kew College pupils. Being registered does not guarantee a place at Kew College. We have two Nursery classes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon – known respectively as Nursery Red and Nursery Yellow. We hold Open Mornings in June and September for parents of children registered to start in the Nursery the following calendar year. These Open Mornings are part of the admissions process and you must attend one of these events. Parents may visit the school at other times by arrangement with the Registrar. Places are offered in the Autumn term in the year before entry. Once offers are made, we require a deposit equal to half of the termly fees for the main school to secure a place. The deposit is reimbursed when your child leaves Year 6. In the Lower School (ages 4-7), a secure foundation of basic skills is laid. Particular attention is given to numeracy and all aspects of literacy - reading, spelling, handwriting, and comprehension. Oral and listening skills are also developed. These essential skills are fostered across the whole curriculum. At the same time, individual and creative expression is nurtured and encouraged. Pupils have the same class teacher for the majority of lessons. We have expert specialist teachers who will teach the children in Lower School for Music, French, Art, and PE/Games. Upper School pupils (ages 7-11) also have a class teacher, but many of their lessons are given by subject specialists. For all age groups, the maximum class size is 20. At every stage, the children are given awareness and understanding of the world around them. Our curriculum is enlivened and enriched by visitors to the school, educational trips, and clubs. We aim to relate academic learning to the real world beyond the classroom, whether this is with visits to our neighbor The Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, botany lessons by the River Thames, or by meeting eminent guests who come to speak at the school. Parents are often involved in this and we encourage them to bring as much as possible to the daily life of the school. At Kew Green Preparatory School we take our responsibility to prepare children for life in modern Britain very seriously. We ensure that the fundamental British Values of mutual respect, understanding, and tolerance for those with different cultures, faiths, or beliefs democracy, rule of law, and respect for self and others are introduced, discussed, and lived out through our ethos which underpins the work of the school. All curriculum areas provide a vehicle for furthering understanding of these concepts and, in particular, work in RE, SMSC, PSHCE, and Current Affairs lessons provide excellent opportunities to deepen and develop this understanding. Children embrace these concepts with enthusiasm and demonstrate a good understanding of their application in their own lives. The school makes considerable efforts to ensure children have exposure to a wide range of experiences beyond their local community to help them understand these concepts. This is achieved through sporting events, residential visits, trips and visitors, cultural exploration, and celebration of a diverse range of religious and cultural groups. Our children will develop an excellent values-based understanding of fundamental British Values which gives them an excellent platform for understanding, celebrating, and embracing differences with tolerance and integrity. e encourage and expect good behavior from our pupils. This is based on a whole-school ethos of care and tolerance for others rather than on a long list of rules and regulations. The primary purpose of discipline in a school is to allow effective learning to take place. A calm and ordered environment is needed for this and all our pupils are expected to behave accordingly. High expectations in behavior, as in learning, generally produce excellent results. The Headmaster reserves the right to exclude any pupil for bad behavior pending discussions with parents and, ultimately, to require the removal of a disruptive pupil from the school. 19. All children are introduced to and understand the school’s ethos.‘Give me a place to stand and I will move the Earth.’ With that in mind, and with further inclusion of the school motto ‘Work Hard and Play Hard, the children develop a strong sense of self-worth with the added value of a work ethic which ultimately is reflected in their achievements. In the all-around child who will progress to the next stage of education with self-esteem, self-confidence, and resilience. In good manners, that a child will at all times be courteous and thoughtful towards those whom he/she meets, where qualities of kindness, honesty, tolerance, and consideration are essential pre-requisites for a child's development. In physical fitness and the striving for excellence in the sporting endeavor. We believe in a competition conducted within the rules of a game, fair play, and good sportsmanship. In the individuality of the child, that each child is encouraged and treated fairly according to the range of abilities and his/her particular needs. Inequality of opportunity and treatment between the sexes, different age groups, nationalities, and creeds. Ambition and hard work as honorable and vital qualities. In independence and self-reliance - that children be taught to look after themselves and others, to cope and hold their own, in any situation. That a child should be taught the skills of the personal organization so that progress is not hindered through inefficiency and that maximum benefit be derived from all challenges and opportunities. Happiness is firmly rooted in the child's belief that he/she is appreciated, loved, and understood. In this way, a child's potential may be wholly realized while remaining happy at school. Our school day is busy where children feel a sense of excitement and achievement – a fast structured pace giving a sense of urgency in their quest for excellence. The school timetable encourages children to work hard in the mornings and then after lunch, children are very active and take part in sporting and creative activities. Trips, educational visits, and workshops are wide-ranging and packed into an activity-filled academic year. The school also has a busy and diverse Extra-Curricular program, with daily Extra-Curricular Clubs and a variety of residential trips for Heath House pupils. 20. Godstone is a happy and thriving preparatory school for girls aged 7 to 13, approximately a third of whom are boarders. We also have a lively Pre-Prep and Nursery for girls and boys aged 3 to 7. Godstone is well known for setting the highest possible standards and enjoys an enviable reputation. We believe that we are the best at what we do and would very much like to have the chance to show you why we are so proud of Godstone. Given the chance, children flourish here, in and out of the classroom. We can provide outstanding preparation for senior school and are always mindful of the fact that just as important as what girls know will be what they are like. Godstone is, in many ways, a remarkable school Why? Because we care. We care enough to put personal development at the heart of everything we do. In our opinion, it is more important than anything else and needs to be pivotal in any education program. We care enough to build our curriculum around the needs of our children and we care enough to ensure that it is accessible to everyone, whatever their ability. Our ethos is simple. We don't agonize over unwieldy, clichéd often pretentious mission statements. All we want is for our girls and boys to be Confident, Happy, and Successful. Indeed, if the first two are true, the third will almost certainly follow. Keep them busy, entertain and intrigue them, encourage them, excite them. Give them a curriculum as broad as it is deep and, for goodness sake, give them skills for life. That’s all. No more. No less. Happy children are easy to teach. With outstanding, highly qualified teaching staff, excellent facilities, wonderful surroundings, a non-selective intake policy, and a more positive and industrious atmosphere than you will find in other schools, it is likely that most of our children will be happy to learn, happy to stretch themselves, happy to support each other and happy to do whatever they can to take an active part in their education. Why push children through the curriculum when you can lead them through? Education is, actually, a very simple business - don’t listen to anyone who tells you any different. All you need do, if you can, is make children love it and we hope that is just what we do. You would be surprised how much you can get out of highly motivated, enthusiastic people. Godstone is alive with opportunity. Remember, to learn a lesson you need to live it. View full school
      21. The School Was Established In 1940 At The Cross In Repton With Just Eight Boys, And Then In 1942, It Moved To Latham House. By The End Of The War There Were Over 100 Boys In The Prep School. Blending Integrity And Other Values With Inspirational Learning We Ensure Our Pupils Excel With Confidence And Flair. Foremarke Hall, Repton Preparatory School, aims to provide the highest standard of teaching and learning, pastoral care, and broad co-curricular and extra-curricular experience, in an inspiring and spacious setting. Children are allowed to be children, encouraged all the while to develop confidence and self-esteem into their best selves. This is achieved through our school mission: To provide academic challenge and stimulate a love of learning. To offer a broad range of activities with equality of opportunity for all. To develop character, values, and morals. To maintain close and mutually supportive links with Repton School. To foster mutually beneficial community partnerships. We are a co-educational day and boarding preparatory school of over 400 pupils, aged from three to thirteen, set in the fifty-acre grounds of a beautifully proportioned eighteenth-century Palladian hall in South Derbyshire. As a school we believe that the most valuable education is one that is broad and balanced, enabling children to enjoy their childhood whilst benefiting from a wonderful range of opportunities both in and out of the classroom. We aim to encourage our children to use their minds well, to understand that with privilege comes responsibility, to make wise judgments to be able to discriminate between right and wrong, good and better. We believe that physical activity is important for growing children and that many important lessons for life are learned in this arena. Finally, we believe that no education is complete without a spiritual element to it, teaching children to appreciate beauty, to be creative, and to value others. With these elements in place, Foremarke Hall aims to produce young people at thirteen who are confident without being arrogant, who are achieving well in and out of the classroom, and who are appreciative of the needs of others around them. Such young people will be well prepared for the senior phase of their education and life beyond. As Parents, We Naturally Want The Best For Our Children. Such Is The Importance Education Has On Their Future Success, Many Of Our Life Decisions Will Centre Around Our Choice Of School. With a rich heritage and beneficial links with Repton School, we enjoy enviable facilities and a plethora of resources enabling a curriculum where academic excellence and breadth are joint aims. There is a wealth of opportunity at Foremarke and we truly believe each child will discover an area where they can shine. All high-performing schools share one key common factor, the staff. Foremarke staff – academic, administration, and support – are a wonderfully experienced, gifted, and committed team. They are passionate about supporting our children and invariably go ‘the extra mile.’ Whilst at Foremarke, your children will benefit from deep and nurturing relationships that will motivate, inspire and push them to succeed in ways they perhaps never thought possible. A modern and globally relevant education is more than just a sum of the curriculum parts. It needs to provide our children with a strong set of values, a broad and sophisticated skillset as well crucial elements such as adaptability, creativity, and resilience allowing future self-growth. Foremarke staff often say that we seek to provide our children with both ‘roots’ and ‘wings.’ View full school

As Headteacher my passion is to ensure that every child is valued, respected, and treated as a unique individual. Working together, we have an uncompromising commitment to ensuring all our pupils receive an excellent, rounded education through a creative and challenging curriculum. Children leave Dundonald Primary School ready for the next stage of their learning. We welcome prospective parents/carers to come and visit our school to find out what an exciting and caring place it is. Please contact the school office if you would like to join me on one of our regular tours where you will get the opportunity to ask any questions that you might have. We look forward to meeting you. We hope that you will find all the information that you need on our website and that it gives you a flavor of what we are about. If you do need any further information please contact the school office where a member of staff will be pleased to help. At Dundonald Primary school we provide a caring, safe and supportive environment committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children. All posts are subject to DBS, reference, and other checks. Children are eligible for a nursery place in the school term after their third birthday. Dundonald Primary School has two nursery classes (morning and afternoon) with 26 children in each class. We offer nursery intakes in September, January and April. Please note that the majority of places are allocated in September and January. Application for a nursery place should be made online to the London Borough of Merton. Paper application forms are available from our school office. Dundonald Primary School currently holds Level 1 of the Rights Respecting School (RRS) award and is aiming for the Level 2 award, which is the highest level of the RRS award. Rights respecting values and language are included as part of lessons, playtimes, assemblies, and all aspects of school life. A key focus for us is the importance of helping children to achieve their full potential and to become responsible local and global citizens. Dundonald has a Whole School Charter, a Playground Charter, and each class has its Class Charter. The charters consist of a visual set of rights, selected by the children, as well as ways to respect those rights with actions that are linked to school life. These charters enable children to engage in open and fair discussions with each other, and with adults around the school. Our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy reflects our belief that every child has the right to feel safe and protected from harm. The school has the statutory duty to 'safeguard and promote the welfare of children and will ensure the provision of a safe environment in which children can learn and develop. The school follows the child protection procedures set out by the Merton Safeguarding Children Board (MSCB) and takes account of the statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2016) that has been issued by the Department for Education (DfE). The school works closely together with the MSCB and other outside agencies where we believe a child's health or welfare is at risk. If parents/carers have any concern about the health and safety of their child at this school, they should share this information with an appropriate member of staff straight away. The Pupil Premium (PP) is additional funding that publicly funded schools receive to support the learning of students from low-income families who are either eligible (or have been eligible within the past six years) for Free School Meals (FSM) or are children in Local Authority Care (LAC) who have been looked after continuously for more than six months. The purpose of the Pupil Premium is to help support those students from low-income families to ensure that they make progress at an equal rate to their peers. Children are eligible if they have registered for free school meals at any point in the last six years. The introduction of free school meals for all reception and KS1 children may mean that it is more difficult to identify those children who are still eligible for pupil premium. London Borough of Merton has launched an initiative to collect information on all families at the school, so that they can identify eligible families themselves, including those whose circumstances may change over time.
